140/130 club

Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

uno--i can TOTALLY relate on teh shrinking upper half situation.  i lost weight from my chest, boobs, and above the belly button REALLY quickly.  and i did NOT have big boobs to start with--so it was taking off inchese where i did not have much to spare, LOL :)  but it's not a big deal, *sigh* but i hope your plateau's over, too! my upper half (not including my arms) has always been pretty small compared to my lower body, though. just the way i'm built, i guess.  my arms, however, have always been pretty thick--never fat persay, but shirts sometimes fit really well across the torso, but sleeves might be too tight.  i've lost some weight from my arms, though, so now they fit better.

dharma--you had the 1000th post! yay!!! we should throw you a party or something :)

i found out about a 5K at a zoo in june! that's so cool! you get to run through the zoo!
How funny! I was just going to bring up how my upper body is getting smaller! I, on the other hand, do have a large chest, so I am happy! I was at a DD when I started working out and am much closer to a D now, if not a C. YAY! My chest was ridiculously unproportionate to the rest of me since I'm taller. Now they look better! :) One of my underlying goals is to be able to buy cute bras from Victoria's Secret or somewhere like that. I've never been able to fit into those since most of them weren't even made in a DD!

kiigan- a jog through the zoo would be so fun! may get distracted though with all the animals ;)

uno- good job on getting down! I hope that your plateu is over! How exciting!
LOL!  The boobs are the first to lose!  They are all fat!  Mine went bye-bye years ago, and I didn't have much up there to begin with!  Sorry for your loss, uno! :(  I can empathize with you!
right, I'm doing a very boring temping job at the moment and am incredibly tempted to go out and buy some sort of chocolatey delight and decided to try and amuse myself on here instead of going to the shops. I'm stuck at around 142-146 at the moment and it is driving me mad! I have managed to get down from 154 though so its not all bad news. My aim is to get down to my pre-university weight which is 133... I just thought when I left uni it would fall off but it didn't and so now I have decided to do something about it. Any hints about how to get over the plateau when it just goes on for ages... I simply can never get below 142 and I've tried changing my work outs etc!!!! I don't want to crash diet but its tempting just to get over the hurdle so I need some hints!!!! xxxx
the most tried and true method on the site for breaking a plateau is upping your calories (100-200 each day) and TOTALLY altering your workout.  completely change what machines you use or how use them (or both, if you can).

also, what worked for me when i couldn't get under 143 for a while, was having a few days of splurge meals.  i had a few days off of exercise, and a couple days where i watched what i ate--kind of--and had nice dinners at restaurants and stuff.  came back to the scale and was about 2 lbs under what i had been!

see, stacey, for me, i'm approachign TOO SMALL to fit into victoria's secret bras!!! luckily, i don't look totally flat--there's still something there. but i'm right in the A category right now--so i'm hoping i don't lose anymore!!! or else if i can lose inches around the BAND size, but not the actual BOOB size.  plus if more of my body shrinks, they'll look even better :) i blame it on being 1/2 japanese :)
Morgan and Stacey thanks for the tips...... I will try the clothes thing, I have to go upstairs to workout and my clothes are there also - so that may push me alittle more.

the reward idea is good too, maybe reward myself with frozen fat free yogurt (small portion of course)

glad to hear, I am not crazy - I thought my boobs were shrinking too - whew!!!!   has anyone noticed there feet shrinking as well?
You guys made me laugh. Thanks. I was sitting here thinking about how hungry and agitated I am at the moment. (stressing about upcoming job interview - wish me luck, it's monday)

I knew that if I read some posts I would feel better, and I do!

Kiigan, thank goodness I'm not alone with the upper body loss!
i'm really hungry too...i think it's apple time!
good call on getting away from chocolate chloe! hang in there! I'm on a plateu as well and waiting for a budge. I'm going to start biking a lot more so hopefully that will help do SOMETHING!! :)

kiigan- lol, complete opposites!:) All the girls in my family were blessed with large chests... I was wearing a bra in the 4th grade :)

v- I also set my clothes out so I have to look at them.. it's like a staring contest with my workout... lol, I do my best to win every time ;)

uno- good luck on the interview! I'm sure you'll do great!
Messam, you look awesome!! Keep up the good work!

Uno- good luck for your interview!

Good luck and happy dieting all!
Well, we gotta laugh about boob loss!  The only other option is buying a new set, and personally, I'm not into that!

I have tried the putting the workout clothes on thing, and sometimes I am wandering around for an HOUR before I finally realize I put them on for a reason! LOL!

V--my feet did shrink!  I wear an 8.5 now, and I used to wear a 9!  Thank goodness, I thought it was because I was getting old! lol!
really? i don't think my feet have shrunk at all.  I'm anywhere from a 7 to an 8, so i don't really care if they get any smaller :) it might be a little easier to find shoes if they went down about a half size though :)

as for boobs and buying new ones--it just dawned on me that i haven't heard anyone asking about natural remedies for boob growth! lol.  everyone always asks--have you tried these diet pills??? but no boob growth pills...hmmm...   :)
wow busy busy here this morning :)

cathy - the last 10 - 15 lbs is definitely hard to get over.... this is the best place for you to be :) all the support and motivation you need :) i would say try changing your intake could help you, lower it a 100 or so calories a day, for a couple days, then raise it to 1500 - 1600 a day for a couple days then go back to 1400 and see what happens... or change up the way you exercise...

stacey - glad you are enjoying those weights, i have yet to start doing mine, thinking today may be the day :) avoid those high sugar foods :P i want to buy from victorias secret too lol...

dee - yay day 2 of no cheating :0)  keep up the good work :) did you get plenty of water in yesterday??

ashmar - wow congrats you are sooooo close to being almost perfectly on goal :) way to go, heck i would count that as goal :) and then reevaluate how you feel.. do you need to tone up? do you think an extra five lbs lost would make you feel happier about the way you look?  you should definitely reward yourself for making goal :)

vicki - i know its hard to get back on track exercise wise...  you just need to make yourself do it... the first couple times you may not want to, but you will feel better after, and it will help get you back into the game... :) my feet shrank also.. lol..  and they have "flattened out?? " lol..

morgan - oh boy deep fried food...  definitely not a good idea lol.. but i bet it tasted great going in :) the zoo run sounds like fun, if i ran lol.. definitely go with that apple :) its good for you... :) (boob growth pills.. hehe)

uno - whooohooo on being down 2 lbs :) congrats :) and lol on the incredible shrinking boobs... i had a breast reduction in aug 2005, and didnt think they could get any smaller, but i have lost a little bit off them, i think i am down to mammary glands now lol... but my band measurement has gone down too so i am happy about that... now if i could just get my midsection to go away...:o) (lots of luck on the interview monday :) )

chloe - i know all about being stuck lol..  or at least fluctuating the same five lbs over and over again... :(

okay so i am in a much better mood today.. its amazing how losing water weight can make a person feel so much better... so 146 this morning  :) from 148.5 yesterday morning (definitely water weight lol)..  but at least well on my way back down :)  have to take my daughter to school from now on as the neighbor who was taking her got packed out yesterday so her son is no longer going to the school here...  so gonna stop by wallly world on my way back then hopefully i will be able to make myself workout even though it will be well past the time i normally do...  heres crossing my fingers..  :)
good luck with that workout brigitte!  glad to hear you're feeling better--a 2.5 lb drop would probably make anyone feel a little more chipper! LOL :)

i'm REALLY trying to be better with my diet today (brought salad for lunch--no sandwich). but my protein is RIDICULOUSLY low! i'm at about 35 g throughout my day at work! wtf?! so i'm going to make myself a protein shake after i do my ab workout at home tonight.  then boca burger (or two!) for dinner to try and increase that number.  i'm supposed to be getting 80-90 grams!  last week i had one day where i got about 115! lol. wonder what i did...
dj - I tend to put on comfortable clothes when I get home from work (suits and panty hose all day), and most times they are my workout clothes and I wander for hours also.  Make dinner, answer emails, do crap around the house, then workout (if I can motivate).  TONIGHT I WILL WORK OUT!!!!!!!!

I can't afford to lose any more feet weight, I already wear a size 5 and sometimes can wear 4's (kids  shoes), try and find heels in that department!!!  : - )

Boob pills???? good idea.
unicat- yay for water weight! I had the same thing happen to me! from 141 to 139. get that workout in, you'll feel so much better when you do! :)

I may pick up some 100 calorie packs if I have time before school. I am having such a hard time kicking this sweet tooth thing and I figure 100 calories of cookies (the oreo, chips ahoy and lorna doones are my fav!!) is better than a 300 calorie candy bar. I don't really have a hard time limiting myself to one bag, so I should be good with it :) Plus, I have room in my calories for 100 so I could probably swing it...  hmm... I just may do that. yum!
kiigan - congrats on the new low - that's so great!!  a 5k through the zoo - that sounds so cool!  and maybe if an animal decides to chase you, you can get a really great time! LOL!! ;)

vcoop - welcome back as well!  i hope your cruise was awesome - i would love to go on one some day!  as for working out, you're just gonna have to push yourself back into it.  it's never appealing after a break until you get into it again!

pretty - congrats! running your first full mile is such a big deal! fyi, a rule of thumb that i've learned is that keeping your treadmill at 1.5 - 2% incline is most equivalent to running outside.

messam - you are looking great!!

cathy - welcome!

ashmar - congratulations!!!!!  sounds like you do need to switch to maintaining if you're happy where you're at (can't wait to get there!!)  i hear it's a difficult transition to switch from dieting to maintaining.  the advice i've heard is do it slowly.  add 100 calories to each day first.  see how you're doing.  if you're still losing, add 100 more each the next week.  find the right spot for you to maintain.

uno - congrats on being down 2 lbs!!! yippee!!  i hear ya about the boobs! :(  i'm with kiigan, not too big to begin with so the decrease is a little sad.  it sucks we can't pick and choose where we lose! LOL!  good luck on your job interview! :)

unicat - stay motivated and squeeze in the workout - you can do it if you make it a priority, i'm sure of it!

as for me, busy busy at work.  i'm gonna have a tough time this week getting my workouts in and to me, that's depressing.  i'm trying to keep positive and just work hard and fast so there's some hope that i may get home at reasonable hours this week.
wow! size 5 feet? my cousin is actually pretty close to that.  you can do it! get in that workout!  i usually don't wear my workout clothes, so if i can get myself into 'em, i usually follow through.

stacey--those 100 calorie packs sound perfect.  i just read an article saying that eating real sugar is better than artificial sweetners for a lot of ppl with a sweet tooth because the artificial just make you feel hungrier.  plus those cookies sound like they'd make great snacks!

good luck with your work this week, wolfie. i know it gets depressing when you have to anticipate very little exercise. i'd say just try to stay aware of what you're eating since you can't really workout, and accomodate.  staying healthy and getting sleep is important, so dont' overwork yourself!
srd1214, I'm a little late on this bandwagon, but I've just discovered those Hostess 100 calorie pack cupcakes. And all I can say is Oh - My - Goodness. They're absolutely sinful.  Great with a glass of skim milk! I definitely have them sparingly, as I'm sure they're high in sugar. But they are delish! Perfect dessert sweet-tooth fix!
thanks for the idea gret! I'll have to look for those the next time I go grocery shopping! :)

I'm going to pick up some cookies and hopefully those cupcakes next time I go out! Those will probably keep me from eating candy bars!
