I'm crying as I'm typing, so please overlook all typos...I'm really not all here.
Our son, who turned 18 last month, has been missing now for 76 hours. He went to work Monday, left work and no one has heard from him nor seen him since. He wasn't having any problems with us, Sunday we all were together and had a great time. He wasn't having any problems with his girlfriend. He did have a bad day at work and we are guessing he went off on a drive too cool down, but we really don't know. He didn't say anything to anybody about where he was going. He was in a hurry to get to work that day and left his wallet home. So he has no money on him nor any access to money. We were able to get into his bank account today and there hasn't been any unusual activity in the last month. We have called everyone he knows and no one knows anything. His girlfriend has called everyone she can think of too.
This is so out of character for him. He has never done anything like this before.
The police are involved and doing all they can. Two different aerial searches were done today and tomorrow there is a ground search going on with volunteers and the police department. He has been listed as a missing person in all 50 states along with a description of his blazer. The police department made up fliers for us to put around town. The top of it says "Missing Person, Suspicious Circumstances".
This is so unreal. This is something that happens on TV, not in real life. The roller coaster of emotions is beyond imagination. The possibilities of what has happened to him and where he might be are endless. To the East of us is a canyon, to the West is desert hills. He could be anywhere. Not knowing anything is the worst.
My husband and our other children are hitting their limits too. Our home is crazy is an understatement. We have had lots of friends and family offer love and support. Meals have been brought in for three days. Our phones are ringing off the hook with well wishers and everyone wondering what they can do.
I'm sorry for going on and on, I just want to cover all the bases, but I'm sure I've missed some things.
Prayers are definitely welcome.
Mostly I'm still in shock. I'm not sure I'll be back on the site for a while. I will post as soon as we know anything.
Please everyone take care, and go hug your kids...

I tried uploading the flier but it didn't happen, I'm not sure why.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It does help to know that people care.
EDIT: I took a picture of the flier and added it to my pictures

And the PIAU! Something has to come of this.
Much love and prayers for you and your family, Shannon.
I've posted before, just wanted you to know that i'm still thinking of you and your family. I'm not even dieting at the moment, i now just check the website to see how you are doing and if you've had a happy ending. every time i hope that i will see the post that i think we all long for. I will continue to check and although i'm not really religious i will pray for chris's safe return, the end to your pain and the day i see the words... he's home.

Shannon - Thank God! I hope and pray its him so if nothing else, you'll atleast know he's ok. I'm so nervous waiting..... {{{{Hugs}}}}
Hi Shannon,
How encouraging to hear that have some help!!
Our prayers are with you and those aiding in your search!!
It's been a long time since I've posted - I sort of fell off the workout band wagon when school got completely out of control. I think of you often and so do my students. I still have a few from last September that ask about Chris and if he's been found. I'll be teaching the same course again this summer, and I'll be sure to feature his story. It's a great way to teach spatial concepts, and I'll have a whole new set of students looking.
God Bless -
Still keeping you as well as your family in my prayers! Don't give up hope!
God bless you!

I'm glad the news is still covering your story.
The Tribune article is so far from what was said. The writer called Dave and was trying to get him to say that we think Chris is on his own and fine. He wouldn't listen to Dave say that we think his disappearance was under suspicious circumstances. They twisted what he said. Lisa also said that he was trying to get her to say things that she didn't mean, and that he was twisting her words. And as far as the chief goes, well he was the one who deemed the case suspicious from the beginning and still believes it to be so. I think my favorite part is that the chief supposedly said that Chris is healthy even though no one has seen him! Chief believes that initially Chris may have left on his own, planning on being gone only a few hours or a couple of days even, but then something happened that is keeping him from coming back to us. Again the media is great for getting his name out there, but when they botch the story that bad, I think we would rather not have their help. We are all calling the editor and asking for a retract and for an article to be printed that states what was really said.
Life is crazy busy. We are going through some other things right now that are draining and emotionally stressful. I know we are not the only family going through tough times, I just wish that they could come one at a time. It is hard to have your plate so full.
Thanks again for looking out for us and for your words of encouragement. It is great to have such a wonderful support group!

Shannon -
As weird as it may seem, this is my first time to ever run across this forum. As soon as I started reading, my heart just goes out to you! I will also be praying for you (in Kansas)! I hope that you all get the answers that you need & that Chris is found no matter the outcome! I'm sure these times are so stressful on you and your family. Always remember that you are loved from many miles & when someone offers a shoulder to cry on or a ear to listen, take advantage of it! I truly believe that God doesn't give you what you can't handle, but at a time like this, I'm sure that's hard to hear. Lean on God and let him carry you through it! With love and thoughts, Shannon in Kansas!
All best wishes coming to you and your family, take energy from all the well wisher to help you stay strong at this time.

Shannon,
I know it stinks they messed up the story, but maybe it gives the message that Chris is still alive and that people need to keep looking. I dont know, but there's always two ways to look at things.
I didnt know that his vehicle was spotted in Janurary!?!?!
I hope the investigator can make some sense of things and find a good lead.
No tape yet from PC?
Always in my thoughts,
Melody
CC friends, let's not forget the candles for Chris. I don't know how to paste the link here, but I am sure someone here does. Every little thing we can do will help. :)
I still think about you every day Shannon, even when life is hectic I take a few moments out of my day to think of you and Chris, and will the world to bring him back to you. It's something I will keep doing until the day you know where he is. As always, my thoughts and hopes are with you.
Please light another candle for Chris and his family....
Shannon and her family need all the comfort they can get.
Thank you.
