Anyone doing SLIM IN 6? alydaven
  Jan 11 2007 16:13
I found Slim  in  6  to be great for toning, it is not dreadfully hard to do. I did the 6 weeks and found my self toned!  I looked great, I did the Slim and Six pack daily too which made my abs look decent.  I have not done this in about 2 years now but would love to start it again, that is if i can get my girls to nap at the same time!  Anyone doing it, or about to start it?  I am ready for the 6 week challenge.  I am eager to start but fear not following through... I know it works!  I have seen results firsthand!  I need a buddy!

Hi guys!

I am so glad I found this thread. Anyway I am about to start this program this week once the DVDs arrive and after all of the good stuff I have been reading I am really psyched! Anyway, My first question is how important is following the meal plan they suggest, I am being very concious about what I eat already but I don't want to under eat and be too tired to keep up with the work outs.

Thanks for any advice!

Marissa

I wish I had the meal plan in front of me so I could help you. I bought Slim in 6 three years ago and I have all the other booklets except for the meal plan. Grrrr! I so wish I could get a copy of it. In the mean time, I'm using the tools here. The object is to burn more calories than you're eating while toning up your body which boosts your metabolism also. It's a challenging workout and it works. Wowy.com is a great place to help keep you motivated too.

 Thanks again!

ok well I am new to this site, and am happy to have found this thread!  I am thinking about getting SI6...and it seems everyones opinion is the same, that it works pretty well.    I am 134 right now, trying to lost the last of the weight I gained while preggers. I am 5'4 and would LOVE to get to 120!  I need a good workout for at home, is the general opinion that this is a good workout for the last stubborn 10-15 lbs?

You are the greatest!  I'll send you my e-mail.  Thanks!  Oh, and I think the meal plan is important.  Sore is normal, but if you're feeling weak, if it were me, I'd add a few calories.  Don't make yourself sick.

Hope everyone had a great holiday season and that the 2008 new year is off to a great start. I've been seeing advertisements and infomericals for Slim in 6 everywhere so I thought I would come to CC and check out some of the reviews.  I decided to buy the offer and will start it next week once it arrives.  I do have a few a questions for those have had done the Slim in 6 and have seen good results.

Question 1: after I made my initial commitment for the DVD workouts, I was asked if I wanted to purchase additional items at further cost.  The operator told me that the folks shown on TV acheived their success by buying the additiona things she was trying to sell me. I opted NOT to buy it.  The truth be told, if i can lose all the weight that I want in 6 weeks, I would be ecstatic but i'm looking to lose weight and get healthy and i figured if i did the workout DVDs consistently and ate healthy, I will see results soon enough.  Did anyone buy these additional things? Any thoughts or comments?

Question 2:  Has anyone combined these workout tapes with other workouts?  I am considering doing the tape in the morning and perhaps hitting a spin class or the treadmill/ellipitical machine later in the evening.  Thoughts?

Question 3: Does the diet guide say anything about post-work out meals?  What does everyone else usually consume and within how long after the end of the workout?

Question 4: Is anyone interested in starting this slim in 6 with me? I will most likely start next Wednesday (Jan 16th) and would love to have partners to motivate each other on...im tired of being overweight!

I've already started, but wanted let you know that wowy.com (part of slim in 6) is a site where others are working out with you, (hence wowy).  I also enter the daily contest while I'm working out too.  It's actually a fun motivator.  Good luck with your other questions.  I started the program once but never finished it.  I did order the Slimming Formula again.  I figure it can't hurt.  I didn't order the Activit vitamins though because I don't like the auto delivery, but I'm buying a good multivitamin at GNC this weekend.

I started working out on monday and it was awsome i did another work out today but it was harder than yesterday. im so sore. i muted her voice and played techno dance music. i felt i really worked out i was more jumpier and stuff like that. i had more energy and now ..... well i can't go up or down the billions of stairs we all of a sudden have. i can't sit with out dying first. my legs fel like metal my butt is sore and is it bad if i take a day off tommorow? and how long till im sore?

also i'm starting to over eat. i have been back and forth to the kitchen all day. i had a spinach tuna salad and i had some chilli and then i had peanut butter on  whole grain bread that was at about 8:00pm. i want to eat again how do i stop myself??? i feel i have no control!

#1009 rolly_polly Jan 09 2008 03:53

i forgot to say what i did. well for starters i highly recomend techno dance it makes it so much better. do the exercises once or twice then mute her voice and play techno . it really gets you moving you just wanna bust a move. so thats what i did it was just super dupper. but when she got to the push-up part i turned it off and started the ab workout. damn that burned but i really liked it. then when that was done i did Slim and Limber - beautiful stretch. THEN... my techno was still playing and it was telling me to dance. i said no but it wouldnt stop... so i gave in to the musi-pressure and jumped all over the place and just well.. danced my heart out. the reallllly deep layer of my tummy closest to me is super sore is it possible i made a little difference? and how long untill i see noticable changes, or i go down 2 sizes in jeans? if i forget about my day off tomorrow and push my self 6 days a week and eat fruits and veggies and whole wheat bread and yams and tuna and drink soy milk. that covers all the bases pretty much. does it sound reasonable? i know im going on and on but i gotta figure it out. it's soo tempting to go bulimic. weight off super fast but you dont get the nice cuts like you would if you workout. soo is it safe to do that for ONLY A WEEK and then workout. you know get the initial fat off.i did the stupid thing by buying a dress smaller than i am to wear to my cousin's wedding for motivation to lose weight but i don't think i will fit in to it in about 2 weeks (also a super yummy tall guy is going to be there and we have been talking for a bit and i want to look good). so i need a healthy body but also am a little desperate for quick results. i read that someone gained weight instead of lose weight why is that and is it going to happen to me???

wheeeeeew now its out i feel better ... im a little all over the place as im sure u noticed

Email sent!  I'm thinking about joining the MDB club too.  Do you get it free with your order or do you have to join like me?  It's the one that gives you a coach, personalized, meal plan, etc.

You still may not be able to fit in your new dress, but you should try the 6 Day Express diet that come with the program.  I just finished it with the Fast Start and lost 5.5 lbs.

#1012 marissat83 Jan 10 2008 01:20

I believe you have to join that one. But I think between the SI6, nutrition guide and some good vitamins everyone should see the results they are looking for.

 Best of luck!

Hi, I am waiting for my videos to arrive. They should be here any day now.  I can't wait to start.  I was skeptical about whether it would work or not.  I really looking forward to it!

Check out beachbody.com for info on this workout. I think it's great. I also plan on doing Turbo Jam when I've completed Slim in 6.

You're going to love Turbo Jam! I started with SI6, then I got bored (too monotonous). TJ is more energetic, albeit aggressive :p  It is fun. I totally dig it.  I use SI6 Burn It UP once in a while when I need a long and intense workout :)

For those who doesn't know or want to know what Slim In 6 is about, go check my profile. I summarize my thoughts about this exercise.

Because you are burning calories continuously even after the workout? :) With SI6 you are doing cardio, but really you are doing resistance training throughout. All those squats/plié squats, lunges, especially the killer floor legworks... @.@

Hi--I've done SI6 in the past and am trying to get motivated to start it agian. I have about 15-20 pounds to loose (I'm 5'3" 130lbs) and I want to keep it off. I know excercise is the only way to make it happen but I can't seem to motivate myself. Any suggestions? how long is the turbo jam work out?  thanks.
#1018 marissat83 Jan 16 2008 18:29

OMG totally! I mean I still am having trouble sitting a getting up from all those damn squats! But you know, I have tried eating more early in the day when I work out in the morning and I'm not feeling hungry like yesterday. So hope this works.

Man my legs hurt lol

Thanks!!

I'm starting BIU today! I've lost 7 lbs so far and I'm on day 17. Four more weeks of SI6 and then on to TJ. I can't wait!

Are you working out on WOWY?  I think it's a fun way to stay motivated and I want to win prizes for working out.  It looks like the odds are pretty good for winning the daily prize.  It looks like about 2000 or less are in there on a daily basis.  I think the odds are good.

Anyway, that soreness should go away in a couple of days.  By the end of my first week, it was gone, thank goodness!
