Alison don't feel bad about mini binge, I had a major binge lol  Not only have I not lost this week, I have gained ouch! Already told about the other days and last night was the worst. I have decided that I can not enter a Chinese restaurant ever again.  I was so bad, could not stop eating, even when I was full. Cocoa Beach sounds like fun for fathers day. We will be going to Laconia NH for bike week, that weekend. The new baby is a boy, and doesn't look like he wants to meet me before Tuesday.  My son really enjoyed the prom, I didn't realize that the boys enjoy it as much as the girls. He was so happy, couldn't stop smiling.  Have a great walk today, and don't forget to swing your arms lol  I couldn't imagine trying to log in my head, I would end up way over. Keep thinking new bathing suit, new bathing suit and you will work hard. Glad you are feeling better now.

Leila I remember telling you not to give up, I didn't lose any weight the first two weeks either. After that it was great, but all down hill this past week, and I don't mean my weight. Sorry that it started out me trying to give you support and now I'm the one that needs so much. I guess it is a good thing, we know we can count on each other. I hope you are enjoying the weekend and staying in control. Alison and I went off track a bit, but now we are going to be right back on.

It is 7am and my other half is golfing, he should be home by 10:30. So I am making a GOOD choice and leaving for the gym real soon. On the way home I will stop at the store and pick up lots of healthy food. Come on girls, lets all do this right, and have skinnier tomorrows. We can not get discouraged when we have a bad day or week, we have to suck it up and move forward.

#102 turquoise67 Jun 01 2008 13:35

Hi everybody,

Well, bad day or weeks happens but there is another day when we can start all over again. So, don't worry, girls, we will be all right and be back on the right track. I don't even go near Chinese restaurants. I think that their food is too fat and greasy, but that's me. I cook at home my variations of Chinese dishes in more healthy way. But my husband loves sometimes to go there. So, he just takes carry out for himself.  I was thinking once about the same thing, Alison, to count calories in my head when i am somewhere out for dinner. But i couldn't do that and now you can use your cellphone to find out how many calories has this or that dish. There is such feature here on the website. You just sent text message to CC with question and they reply you right away.

I was under my calories again yesterday and i didn't eat much for dinner with our friends. Just couple peaces of grilled chicken with vegetables. So i came home with almost 700 calories under my limit. I managed to go to the gym in the morning and spend good 45 minutes on strength training. I ate a little bid when we came home, just a glass of milk with whole wheat crackers.

Lori, this could happen to anybody, that's why  we are here to support each other. I am sure that you and Alison  will be all right back on track in no time. Your support meant a lot to me and really helped me and i am ready to return the favore.  I am sure that next week you will start loosing again and you will be happy with yourself and choices you have made.

Have a wonderful week-end girls !

Leila

Hello,  Sounds like you did great this weekend Leila, good job. I got back on track yesterday and I hope to stay that way. Went out on the bike (Harley) all day yesterday, had two stops and I did good both times. Lunch stop I asked if they could broil a piece of fish with nothing on it (only spices),steamed broccoli and a toasted almond (My fav drink).  Dinner stop I had grilled veggies, a side salad and a toasted almond. The food was awesome, I had two drinks and I stayed under my limit. Oh yea, I also made it to the gym yesterday. Today I will be running around doing last minute baby things, tomorrow is the big day. I will eat right and try to get to the gym later. Have a great Monday everybody!

Lori

Hi Lori,

You did really good on week-end too:-) On Sunday  i was again under my calories, it is so hot here that  you just can't think about food, only water, water with ice. I am going to the gym today after work, try to stay at least for 45 minutes. It is always more difficult to get out of the house when it's so hot outside.

Tomorrow is really big day for you and your daughter. Good luck!!!

Leila

#105 nursescarels Jun 02 2008 21:07

Leila you are doing great with staying under your calorie range, you should be very proud of yourself. I am doing great with that today, but not going to the gym. Tomorrow is the big day, thank you for the good luck wishes, I am so excited.

Alison where are you?

Lori

#106 alimpalmer Jun 02 2008 21:12

Hi everyone.  I recovered from my mini binge and did great yesterday - thanks for the support, it means everything to me.  I don't know what my weight will be on Friday, but my pants are definitely looser and my husband said "look how skinny you are!" the other day.  Yay!  My trip to the gym was cancelled due to an unexpected visit from a friend.  It's funny, when you're a stay at home Mom, people just pop in!  So I'm waiting for my daughter to fall asleep so I can take a walk.  My husband is a producer and he's working on a project from the house right now - that's how I can get out while she's sleeping.

You know it's funny - my husband practices Buddhism, and he always says that as soon as you try to reach a goal, your life will become filled with obstacles that will get in the way of reaching it.  It's a measure of how worthy the goal is.  I am not a Buddhist, but I have to say that I have found this to be so true; in weight loss, in writing (I'm trying to use my time at home to get published).  I'm constantly interrupted or laid low with the newest cold from my daughter's day care.  It's crazy!  But if I think of those "obstacles" as a sign that the goal is a worthy one, it helps me feel like I'm on the right track.

Okay guys, enough philosophy from me.  Tomorrows a big day, Lori - you and your daughter and baby boy will be in my prayers!

Alison

#107 turquoise67 Jun 02 2008 21:48

Hi girls !!!

Thank you, Lori, i am proud of myself. I don't know how much weight i am loosing or not loosing but i feel really good about myself. Even if it won't show me the big weight loss, i am on track and will keep going until i will reach my goal.

Alison, I have read something like that, i mean about the goals and obstacles on the way to reach it before.  I think that it was one spanish or portugal philosopehr. But he also wrote that on your way to your goal you see different signs that tells you, you are on the right track. I agree with you, i noticed that too.

Well, today i was good with my breakfast and lunch. As i am going to the gym after work, i will probably end up under my calories. I can't eat much after gym.

have a nice evening

Leila

Hi all!

If I could have exercised as much as I shopped today it would have been great. Gift bag after gift bag for the baby and I had to go one last time lol. I had fun shopping for my two year old grandson today, don't want him to be jealous when his baby brother receives things tomorrow. I haven't told you guys before how special tomorrow will be for my daughter. JC ( two year old) was born with only one ventricle and had to be rushed to a different hospital via ambulance, at 20 minutes old. He had open heart surgery at ten days old, four months old and then again this past April at two years old. So needless to say, the first day with her first child was very sad. Tomorrow I know she will cherish every second, holding her second baby boy. JC is doing great, if you saw him you would never believe that he has been through so much, in two short years. He is doing everything that any child does at his age, even more. He turned two Jan 29th and he knows the alphabet, how to count, sings songs, knows numbers and much more.

Sorry, that ran pretty long. Point being tomorrow will be such a happy day for us. Keep up the good work ladies, I am also doing good with the calories. Thanks again for thinking of us, we really do appreciate it very much.  If you don't hear from me tomorrow that means it was an all day labor (I hope not). If she has the baby early and I am home tomorrow night, I will let you all know, how it went.

Alison I have been told a worthy goal is never an easy one. As long as the end result is what your looking for, it is worth it. We are all aiming for a healthier lifestyle and we will get there.

#109 nursescarels Jun 03 2008 13:29

A disappointing morning. My daughter called at 5:30 crying, "Mom go back to sleep". The hospital called her and told her that they didn't have room for her today. I guess several people went into labor last night, so she got bumped. Poor thing is so upset, she thought today would be her last day of terrible back pain. They didn't even tell her when she will be going in, just to call back at 9:30 and they will make a plan. How nice it would be if she would just go into labor on her own today, but I don't see that happening. It's a shame everything was all set, my grandson was over my brothers, her husband off of work, and bags packed in the car. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now, maybe tomorrow. I 'm thinking they might have her go in tonight.  I'm always venting on here, sorry everyone.

I'm going to wait for her to call the hospital at 9:30 and if nothing is happening today I will hit the gym. Maybe she can leave JC with my brothers family for the day and enjoy alone time with her husband (doesn't get much of that). My poor son-in-law she will probably drive him crazy today. I went right back to venting, sorry.

The bright side is I will have a healthy day of eating today. It is going to beautiful out today and for the rest of the week. We didn't have any spring and now we will have temps in the 80's all week. I love the hot weather so that makes me very happy. I know it's far off, but the are predicting 90's for Sunday, that makes for one hot graduation (outside).

Everybody enjoy the day, be happy and healthy. What is the weather like where you guys are?

#110 nursescarels Jun 03 2008 13:34

I'm on a roll, three posts in a row. Alison and Leila I just looked and found out that you girls are down south. MD and FLA I wish, I love the heat. My mom lives in FLA as well, can't wait until my next visit.  I will stop posting and wait my turn, I'm a page hog.

#111 turquoise67 Jun 03 2008 14:29

Hi Lori,

I am sorry to hear that about your daughter. But maybe it will happen today, you never know, maybe it's for better that they didn't take her. Maybe she will go into labor by her own.Poor baby boy.. went through a lot being so little. But it's great that he is fine now. I can imagine how your daughter and your whole family was worried about him. I hope everything will happen tonight, i will keep keep fingers crossed for her.

Well, it is hot here. We actually didn't have spring too, jumped from winter into summer. It will be 87 today and weather forecast said it will be 90F the rest of the week.  I really don't like when it's too hot and very humid, Maryland is famous for it's humidity. Baltimore is not far from Ocean city, from ocean. It takes 3 -4 hours to get there, it depends on traffic. It's great there in summer, but too many people, so i prefer to go there in spring or falls.

Seems that i can't eat exactly my calories, every day i am under and i decided to leave it this way. I went to the gym last night and had 20 min of circuit training and then 30 minutes on bicycle. I felt tired but good after that :-)

Good luck, Lori !!! Have a wonderful day!!!

Leila

#112 alimpalmer Jun 03 2008 21:53

Hi all - sorry to hear about the delay, Lori.  I bet the clock is ticking so slowly for your daughter right now.  It's true that by the time you're ready to have your baby, you are SO READY!!!  Who cares if it hurts, just get it over with :-) We had one little medical scare with my daughter, Mackenzie, also 2 now.  She had a series of siezures and she had to go through the whole round of testing with EEG's and MRI's.  I only mention it because it was so traumatic and that turned out to be nothing.  I can't imagine what you guys were feeling with JC.  Like Leila, I hope everything is in motion by tonight for your daughter.

Doing great with calories, like everyone else and actually looking foward to Friday!  This group, as I'm always saying, has been so good for me!

Alison

#113 alimpalmer Jun 03 2008 21:55

Oh, and it's really hot here!  Almost to hot to walk anytime but early morning, but I do it anyway.  We do get the most lovely afternoon rain storms this time of year - I love that part!  And we did have a wonderful spring. Laughing

#114 nursescarels Jun 04 2008 03:12

Hello, It's 10pm and I'm sad to say no baby yet. Not even in the hospital yet. Got called early morn to wait until 9:30a.m., then told to wait until 2pm, then told to come in tomorrow at 6:30a.m.. So my daughter was not a happy camper. When my other half got home from work at 3p.m. we jumped on the bike and headed to her house(only 25 min away). I figured we could keep her busy to help time pass. We all took JC to the park, we actually had a great time. We were joking around and laughed so hard we were crying. She said in the morning she would tell them she couldn't make it there for a few hours, we all found that very funny. So time did fly by, and she was in a pleasant mood. So we will start this over in the morning and hope for a better day. The reason they had to delay was that people kept showing up, ready to have their babies.

I stayed way under my calorie limit for the day and I'm very happy about that. I didn't get to the gym, but I burned lots of calories at the park lol

Alison I'm glad it turned out to be nothing with Mackenzie(love that name). So you can understand some what, that life wasn't fun for our family for a while. Glad you are looking forward to weigh in, that means you must be doing well.

Leila you had a good work out last night, you go girl! Great that you are staying under your calorie limit. Maybe we will all show a loss this week.

Thanks for the comments girls, tomorrow is another day. I don't think I will ever see the gym again, I really miss it. Once this baby boy shows his face, I will be back on track with that.

Have a great night.

#115 turquoise67 Jun 04 2008 13:49

Hello everybody,

It's a very pretty name your daughter has, Alison. She went through a lot too, poor baby. But it's great that it was nothing to worry about after all.

Well, Lori, i really hope that the waiting will be over soon and you all will see this little baby boy, who really doesn't want to leave his Mom's warm belly:-) That's great that you spend day together, the time does go faster when you are not alone, with your family and having a good time. Will cross fingers for you !

I didn't make it to the gym last night. We needed to do a little shopping when i came home from work with my husband. But i was in my calorie limit and i think i burned calories by shopping for an hour. I am planning to go tonight to the gym and to do my best.

It is hot here too, it's early morning, but it is 75F now. Weather forecast promises 90F today with showers and thunderstorms.

have a wonderful day

Leila

#116 turquoise67 Jun 05 2008 03:09

Hi,

Hopefully your daughter is in the hospital Lori, or maybe she had a baby already. You didn't  write anything today, so i hope that everything is all right.

Well, we had very strong thunder storms today and showers, there was one tornado touchdown too. So it was fun to drive from work home, because street lights didn't work, trees were on the roads and the traffic was really bad. I  am under my calories again, but i went to the gym and had really good workout on eclipse and strength training too.

Hope tomorrow we will hear good news from you, Lori. Have a good night.

Leila

#117 turquoise67 Jun 05 2008 18:35

Hey, girls!

Where is everybody?

Is everything all right?

#118 alimpalmer Jun 05 2008 22:28

Hi Leila- I'm here!  Sorry I didn't post yesterday.  I've got a writer's conference on Saturday and I've started getting ready for it, and it's always time consuming.  I'm going to think positively and assume that Lori isn't writing because of the baby.  We'll keep our fingers crossed!

Finally made it to the gym!!!!  Both yesterday and today - did the elliptical machine and some weight machines.  I still do better in the classes - I certainly sweat a lot more, but haven't made it there yet.  I think as I lose a little more, I'm going to have to go to the classes, because the last 5 or 6 pounds are so hard to lose!  Anyway, it felt great to be back there.

I've eaten almost 900 calories today - which leaves 400 for dinner, but I'm having a "fat" day, so I might take it easy and stay a little under.  Do you  have those?  Where you suddenly just feel like a whale one day, even though you're doing great with the diet and execise?  What is that all about?  I'm just going to ignore it and drink a lot of water and go easy on the salt.

Tomorrow's our weigh in!  Are you ready????

#119 turquoise67 Jun 06 2008 00:27

Hi Alison,

I am so glad to see your post. I felt a little lonely here:-) So, you are really busy getting ready to your conference. I hope so too, that Lori didn't write because  she probably with her daughter and the baby.

I am eating now 1200 -1300 calories, most days i am under my calories. I came home from work with 800 calories and have like 400 + calories for dinner and watermelon later.  I went to the gym last night and did elliptical machine and did some strength exercises in woman's gym. Today i was walking during the lunch time, but unfortunately didn't make it to the gym today. I will go tomorrow for sure. I didn't have "fat"days yet, maybe i will  later.  I remember about tomorrow, and i am ready. I don't know what scales will show me, but if i didn't loose anything  yet, that's because of my wrong activity level. It took some time for me to figure it out. So, we will see tomorrow.

Leila

Hi Girls,

My grandson has not arrived yet, I long stressful week. His heart rate was very fast, which made us all very nervous. Got that figured out after a while, he wasn't happy because mom had a low grade fever and was dehydrated. So things got started and them my daughters platelet count went way down. Do to the fact that he may by very large, they want to be prepared for an emergency C-section, which would be dangerous with her counts so low. The whole process was slowed down and then she decides to start laboring on her own, when they are ready there is no stopping them. At 2a.m. the doctor told me to go home and come back around 7a.m., that I would not miss anything. I didn't want to leave her for a minute, but I had a pounding headache and needed some sleep. It is now 6:30 a.m., I haven't slept for a minute (but the headache is gone). I'm off the hospital, I haven't gotten any phone calls so all is well. My son-in law didn't have to miss the Celtics win last night, so he had that happy moment lol If all is good when I get there, they said they will start speeding things up again. So off I go, to be with my baby girl.

Thanks for thinking of me, I appreciate that so much. I haven't exercised in forever, but I still lost. Looking forward to seeing, how you girls did.

Start date May 4th 117 pounds.

Two weeks ago May 23rd 113.8 pounds

Today June 6th 111.4 pounds

I am very happy with that, I didn't think I was going to end up doing good after this crazy week. I hope everyone has achieved their goal for the two week period.

Leaving for the hospital now, next time I post, the baby will be here. Have a great day!
