I was given the ultimate gift for Xmas --- a vacation to LA and Vegas.
I want to lose 10 lbs before we fly out on May 24th.

you know what would be delicious?! I have yet to try it but keep dreaming about it... lol... 100 cal pack lorna doones dipped in the yoplait light *not sure if the make it in the n'fit* lemon creme pie flavor... YUM!!! it'd be about 200 cals, but I'm figuring it would be pretty filling... and eating that as a snack definitely depends on how much room you have in your cals..
ANYONE UP FOR A MINI CHALLENGE?
No bad carbs (wheat product that is not 100% whole grain) or processed sugars (ie.. chocolate... lol) for the next 8 weeks?? I don't really eat a lot of these things in the first place so I want to try cutting them in these 8 weeks... Leftover chocolate eggs are being moved to the freezer.... tonight :) The only sugar I'm going to use is my 2 tsp in my coffee (2x a day) and my 1 tsp in my oatmeal.. so 5 tsps a day... good? If I nix the 2tsp in my coffee, I may use sf vanilla creamer.. I know, not much better, but I have to tame the bitterness of the coffee just a bit..

Wow - Krrpt - that's a pretty rough challenge, I am not sure if I could pull that one off... Maybe I am too weak....

Frozen oranges? OK..do you just throw em in the freezer whole or peel them and quarter them first??
And the banana--you freeze slices or how do you do it??
The white cheddar cheese its would ruin me...Any crackers are a risk-but I have been good with reduced fat Triscuits.
I like to snack on almonds or sunflower seeds but I measure them out first and don't allow seconds.

I would like to say that I think after 14 weeks I am FINALLY getting my period and will therefore be more likely to reach my goal! yessssss
BTW krrpt although I am checking for HFCS in my ingredients I don't think I can cut sugar all together just yet.
I am back down to 221 so we will see tomm.

You can cut it into slices (before you freeze it) to nibble on or just peel it and chuck it in the freezer and eat it like a 'popsicle'! Yummy!
valandra- how exciting! you'll definitely reach those goals!
awaresmom- that's awesome that you're watching out for the HFCS.. I did the same thing a few months ago and am very happy :) the only thing I have a lot of trouble with is salad dressing... it's in every salad dressing... ever.. lol
Oi! Hey all! Is it too late to join?!?! I would love to lose 10 pounds by May 24th! I am going to Dublin at the middle of June and my ultimate goal is to lose 20 pounds by June 17th. So I am in! I will post my weight tomorrow morning first thing. I'll have to play catsup with you guys! Thanks for this. I really needed some motivation and diet buddies to hold me accountable. I have been down recently about the whole weight loss thing and this is great!
Should we also keep up with measurements too? I know sometimes the scale doesn't move, but the measurements do! I'm gonna post my inch losses too. That way you still feel like you are accomplishing something!

WTG Olivia!! I love when I break the barrier and go down to the next set of tens. Its like my mini goals I give myself to see the end of so-called decade, lol.
krrpt -- Good challenge and hard! Well I guess I will have to start for dinner since I had tacos for lunch. :) Its amazing what has hfcs in it though. We started really looking at it in the ingredients for the kids stuff and it just blows my mind how prolific it is, and in stuff that its just unnecessary.
stay strong girls :) I don't know about you but eating candy makes me ravenous about an hour later.. so save yourself the present and future calories and stick to the food your body will actually use :)
can we challenge ourselves to have only one serving of bad carbs or sugar a day?? I'm going to avoid the carbs and put sugar in my coffee and oatmeal.. period :) how about everyone else? how are you going to dominate this challenge? like I said.. leftover chocolates from Easter are going to the freezer tonight :)
FYI... I buy Roman Meal 100% whole wheat bread and it's 70 cals per slice and NO hfcs!! :) I was seriously standing in front of the bread isle reading labels for about 20 minutes trying to find a bread with no HFCS... and there are 3 kinds of Roman Meal breads... 2 I think are whole grain so make sure you get the whole WHEAT b/c I think the other 2 have hfcs :)

I have started adding a few of you as friends, so I expect for you to be reeming me all the time! LOL I will def be on your pages with advice/words of encouragement.
I told my bf what the deal was and he said "Yeah! Let's do it!" I was like, "You're doing this with me?!" and he said "Hell yeah!"

Oh and just so I can get it off my chest, I hate work lunches! Had Mexican food today! Blah! But I ate chicken and drank water so hopefully it wasn't too bad! Will have to take a walk around the building for extra effort.
katie- ditto to everything you just said! my bf keeps saying he wants to do all this stuff and he is now taking really small baby steps :) I think I'm finally influencing him :) and I hate work lunches too.. I always say no thanks, I have my own lunch :) no one gets offended or anything.. I used to take some leftovers home to pretend I was going to give it to my b/f, but I'm not going to do that anymore :)
