Hi Kae. CC tells me I need to aim for a daily goal of 1500 calories, and that I burn about 2300. I have been sticking to about 1300-1400. That has been really working for me. I stepped on the scale again this morning, still says 195 so I'm doing good. I did about 30 mins of cardio this morning since I have my class tonight. Had a slimfast shake for breakfast. Today I am wearing some dress pants that have been pretty snug (and barely able to zip them up) Not today! They are still not loose by any means, but they look good and they feel comfortable! :)

I am rewarding myself with a trip to the mall on my lunch hour to buy a new cute top for my concert on Sat night. I am so excited! But also concerned about drinking (going to TRY to stick with water) and staying away from the nachos, hotdogs, tacos, etc.

As I'm typing this I have the worst cramps!! So it must be that TOM for me (I new it was coming soon) Scale didn't show a difference though, I expected a couple lbs increase before my TOM, maybe still to come. We'll see.

Also, I'm going to take a "progress" picture of myself on Sat and post it to my gallery. I am starting to see changes in my body, and I like what I see :)

Hello everyone! How are you doing?

It sounds like Amanda and I are on the same steamboat! Welcome! Congratulations on getting to 232.

I've been working out everyday for at least 30 minutes. I usually end up going for about an hour, but tell myself that I need at least 30 minutes on those days that I am really tired. What I really would like to do is be able to work out twice a day, but I have such a big problem waking up early enough in the morning! Does anyone have any suggestions?

I want it to be springtime already! Cold weather is not my friend at all. I'm originally from Trinidad and I am used to cool breezes and hot sun!

Hi Bagga, what state are you in?? I'm in Iowa. So ready for spring here too.

Hi Tracy I'm in Wisconsin so we are neighbors of sorts. Still cold a sin here.

A big hello to everyone on this fine day, it is kind of scary, but this whole change I started in January is becoming the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have to take a moment each day and get acquainted with this happier, healthier, ever lightening me.

How are all of you?

It's not always easy, I know all of you here on the forum have had your own dragons to slay, and perhaps more to face, but the sword looks damn fine in our hands and we surely are learning how to use it...

I just joined the day before yesterday.  I turn 43 on Sunday and it seems that the older I get the harder it is to maintain my weight.  I have gradually gone from a steady 170 up to 210 in the last couple of years.  Since my family has a strong history of diabetes one would think I would have all kinds of motivation but it is not that easy.

I would love to work with others to take control of my weight.

welcome mom4!

Thank you,

I have been looking for a group to talk to.  I feel good about this site.  It has helped me, like so many of you, to learn portion control and that I am not the only one struggling.  I cried the day I weighed in at the doctor for my annual at it was 201.  I always told myself I would not go there.  I got to 212 and decided that enough is enough, I have to do something about this.  I am now down to 203 but I want to get down to atleast 145.  (I too have a mini goal of below 200)

I live in MN (burr) but my husband's job may have us transferring to FL.  I could cover my weight with extra clothes here but if I want to feel comfortable on the beach I know I need to do something.

I also have a special reason for wanting to lose the weight.  My Dad died at age 54 of heart failure (he was diabetic) and a couple of years later his brother died the same way.  I have 3 teenagers and realy want to be a part of their lives for a long time so I know that it is important for me to be smarter about how I live.

Sorry, I am rambling, but it feels so good to get it out.

I'm from Wisconsin too, another thing we have in common.  The last time I weighed in was Saturday and when I weighed in today I was at 230, down 2 lbs since then and 12 lbs total.  I also have a mini goal of under 200 and now I feel like I'm making progress.  Cool  Enjoying this heatwave...  lol
Ramble on my dear...that is why we are here.  You are NOT alone...there are others that have DONE it here on the sight and those like me in your exact shoes!

Hey Everyone,

I'm doing pretty good today but I have been super tired lately, schoolwork keeps me up later many a night. A lot of times I only get three or four hours of sleep and I have to leave the house just before six so I dont understand how you guys ever get up and are able to workout before you start your days!!! I'm going to buy a new scale tomorrow and i think from what I've heard the Tanita is pretty good. Everyone agree on that? I have a thinner right now and it fluctuates WAY too much it changes up to 8 pounds in 2 minutes, how am i supposed to use that!!!???

Thanks for listening all

Yikes!  That's not near enough sleep!  If you talk to the experts, they'll tell you that getting a good night's sleep is just as important to weight loss as watching calories or getting exercise.

Take care of yourself.  Are you up late studying?  Hanging with friends?  Watching TV????  Not looking for you to give me an answer but rather for you to ask yourself that question and to take some kind of action, whether it's to get your studying in earlier or turn the TV off at a certain time.

However, you DO get kudos for picking up a new scale!  Just remember, the scale is our friend even if we do want to drop-kick it sometimes!  LOL

Take care of yourself, Jeanus.  There are a lot of us out here pulling for you!

Actually it's pretty much my busy schedule with school, the problem with it is that sometimes they will go a little easier on us and we will get not so much homework and then the next week is totally insane like three all nighters in a week and that is without TV I mean i have other things to do i have to take care of my dogs and do dishes and clean my room and keep up but i dont really WASTE much time on television or useless things. I dont get much time with my friends except for on weekends. So yeah theres my answer, this makes it difficult to get in an exercise program but since tommorrow is friday I am goign to row on our rowing machine for at least half an hour, usually i feel like doing more than half an hour once im actually on there, and an hour on the machcine is worth about 800 calories.

Good Morning,

How is everyone doing?  jeanus, do you have a snow day?  Here in the northeast we are getting snow...

My unofficial weight this morning (it isn't monday:0) was the same...198.  Yes I was hoping for a drop.  Trying to realize that I have been back for 2 weeks and I lost 4 pounds.  That is actually good, but I was hoping for a quick drop in the beginning.  I DID however loose inches and that is more important!  I am really happy about that.

ave a great day

We are having a snow day as well.  ALL FOUR ARE HOME!  You'll find me in the nearest corner drooling on myself!  No, they're good kids.  Supposed to get 6-9" here.

Jeanus, I apologize for not weighing in saying I was one of the first to hop on board.  Last I was here it was feb 6 and I just broke 200's today I weigh 193.7.  I will come back monday and give another weight.  Keep your head up!

Hi! I was the heaviest I've ever been January 5th at 220. By going to the gym 5 days a week and eating around 1300 calories, I'm now 196. I'd love to be 130 something! I never had the mind body connection I do now. I'm getting married in a year and signed up for the gym thinking I was 160. Boy was I wrong! Being 24 years old, 5'1", at 220 shocked the hell out of me. I think I just needed to see that number.

I can't wait for us to start seeing results!

Hi

Need to do weigh in early for this week, as I am going home for the week (currently living at uni) so wont be able to post on Monday.

last weeks weigh: 203

todays weight: 202

that means I have lost 1lb, i'm relieved as I thought I may of gained due to pizza hut binge on Wednesday

Good morning everyone,

I am going to have a tough weekend.  I have a baby shower today, a moving party Sat, a baptism and my birthday Sun.  I am just hoping that I can maintain my will power and not go over board on the food.  It helps that I have been learning about portion control.

I made myself a promise to not get carried away and deprive myself.  So at the office I have the Lean Cuisine but when I get home I enjoy my meal with my family. BBQ ribs last night Yum!! I just don't take that second scoop of potatoes like I use to.

So this weekend I will have cake, just not a big piece.

a small piece of the cake will help. I had a shower LAST weekend and cut a small but really yummy piece of cake for myself. I ate it really slowly..tiny little bites and it seemed like I was having a huge piece.

I have my daughters birthday party tomorrow...ice cream sundaes...God help me :-)

I don't know about you but I think the frozen yogurt is pretty good.  That's what I have when the rest of the family has ice cream. I also do not put all the syrups and whip cream on like my husband.

I bet if you cut up a banana into it or top it with nuts it would feel like you got more too.

I am allergic to bananas :-(  How many calories will I burn running after 13 10 year olds?  SHould be 1000 at least :-)
