Wondering what came of your floor situation Rachael. Yikes! To bad theres no calories burned for headless chicken run (haha) or fighting a floor of suds!
Have you ever done a marathon before Angie? Love it - what a challenge! Funny on my mini walk today I was still ready to peel the layers afterwards, working up some heat. Wonderful for training that you have the gym available to you and way to shoot big!
Funny Lori about the gift from mom! I was thinking how I hadnt eaten fruit and even when my visting sister brought some to the house but when I received fruit shipped to me for christmas, I made the exception. Something weird about it being a gift. We do a Thursday weigh in so if your weighing Wednesdays, that would work in just fine! Way to get right back to phase1!
Sound like your managing the carb / exercise thing well! You obviously have run for a while so Im sure you know your response - just take care.
To a great SBing weekend !!
I had an "unofficial sneaky weigh in" (USWID) day today ... before my official weigh-in day (OWID) on Sunday and was a bit disappointed since I was hoping for a bigger loss (it was a small loss) .... but I also know that there's still Saturday (another USWID) and then Sunday's OWID.
It can be so frustrating eating 1500 calories per day (resulting in a daily calorie deficit of 1000 calories) and not seeing the 2 pound loss that I am "supposed" to be seeing, ya know? Oh well.... I can't control the scale or my metabolism, just what I eat and how much I exercise. My goal for January is 90 minutes of cardio per week, and I'm at 73 minutes so far ... so I should meet this goal this week assuming all goes as planned.
And I'm REALLY trying to drink more liquids this week, too ... I've had at least 60 ounces so far today, so I better go drink MORE.
Hope you're all eating healthy!
=^..^= MOLLY
Nope Jayne, never done one...only ever did 5k's before. But its something I really want to accomplish, I want to go back into the gym with my t-shirt and be like see I did it!
Even it is just walking it, I want to be able to wear that shirt! LOL....
Weather is much better today, sun is out no rain and not too cold (at least on this side of Ireland).
Ohio: Glad to hear you got the dishwasher to be normal again, your floors must be glimmering!
Alice will be here to walk, day 3. She pointed out how I stopped much less yesterday then the first. I drove the block to find each 1/10 mile landmark. Yesterday back and forth was 2/10ths of a mile and this does include walking with the crutch. Three goals - distance, less stopping rests and less use of crutch. The best benefit will be if it strengthens my legs to where shorter, non crutch distances become more natural.
Out of the blue, the ice machine started working again. I dont use ice - drinks at room temp, but so glad Kiki will start drinking more again. Its all she drinks since childhood which is strange shes so health and diet phobic.
I just started too. This is my 5th day of phase 1. I really like this diet, I can't wait to see what it does for me. Boyfriend and I are both on it.
I look forward to posting and sharing recipes!
I have been doing a body cleansing that lasts for two weeks as well as starting the SBD that includes 8 fiber pills a day!
That's going to screw me up isn't it? I'm basically taking carb pills. Please tell me i'm not counter-acting my diet. oh lord.
Say it ain't so!
Sarah, I went out with my winter coat for walking and was taken aback by the temp. I did the same nut thing, keeping the can in my desk drawer where I spend so much time. Too tempting like the Lays chip commercial, "... cant eat just one." So cool you get to see hubby!
Im such a furniture fan Rachael - my daughter would ask me on birthdays what I wanted to do, would I like to go furniture shopping LOL. Ive not been to the IKEA thats came to town but gotten lost in the mail catalog. Funny about the doors - have you been told you have a magnetic personality?
This John Soules precooked fajita chicken breast is so good Im having to force myself to make salads to keep from eating it straight from the bag, which I still do anyway. Ready in two minutes? Shoot - I prefer it cold in two seconds opening the bag. Funny how I go for the cold - shrimp, salmon - I think it accentuates flavors.
Wishing good luck to all, especially those just starting the plan!
Hello ladies, just checking in real quick to see how everyone's weekend went. I did pretty good food wise, which I am taking that as a pat on my back to myself, considering past behaviors!
Did my second day of training and I actually did, of course I looked like a red tomato after I finished, but the main thing is I kept telling myself not to quit this time. Tomorrow is a rest day from running but not the gym. Its a nice little getaway and definitely packed with people.
Hope all is well for everyone!

Thanks Jayne, for putting this new thread together. Lotta work on the first few posts! And thanks for the recipe links! I just came on to look for some recipes as I am totally uninspired for dinner tonight. . . I'm gonna take a look now!
Good food weekend here too Angie. Alice isnt kidding, here daily for our walk. Each day a few more house lengths. Got my own marathon training but for a mile. Got a new after pic and wish I'd taken more befores then the bad focus one I did. Will post it soon and because of the long dress, the weight loss isnt as obvious.
Welcome violet!
holy cow i am pooped i just cooked breakfast lunch and dinner for 5 days. i cooked so much that i didn't even eat dinner because i couldn't look at food anymore. theirs a diet for ya i should just become a cheif! I just took carb free muffins out of the oven...lets see how they come.
I am very proud i did well this weekend. ate at 3 different resturants without cheating. i also didn't drink which is hard when being social. I'm trying really hard to say motivated and focused. My roomate and i were talking earlier about self image and from that conversation i realized i have been on a diet sense i was 12, i still have not lost the weight. This really needs to be the year i loose it.
I forgot to say hi (hi everyone, I'm violetgrr)! These are my current stats:

I'm having delicious london broil and cajun cauliflower for dinner! yum. Here's the cauliflower recipe- i found it online, but I honestly can't remember where (I copy/pasted it into a text file) to give credit.
Prudhomme's Cajun Cauliflower in Garlic Sauce (all phases)
2 cups cauliflower florets
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (Tabasco)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
1/2 teaspoon cajun seasoning
Bring 1 quart of water to a boil in a large pot.
Blanch the cauliflower just until tender-crisp, about 3 minutes.
Drain well and set aside.
Place the butter in a large skillet over high heat.
As soon as the butter begins to sizzle, add the garlic.
Cook, stirring almost constantly, until the garlic is thoroughly coated with butter, about 30 seconds.
Add the cauliflower and cook, stirring occasionally, just until the cauliflower is slightly browned, about 4 minutes.
Remove from the heat, stir in the pepper sauce, cilantro and Cajun spice blend, and mix gently but thoroughly.
Serve immediately.
How is everything today??
Welome Bethany and (welcome back) Sharon!!!
Well done Angie on the good food weekend and good luck with the Marathon training!! are you going to do the Ladies Mini-Marathon in June (its the one in Dublin, and its for charity)
Jayne, well done with the walking!! You will doing marathons before you know it!!!!
Sarah, hope your enjoying your surprise visit!!!
Ok, So I am starting backing with the whole healthy eating thing!! No sugar, no chocolate for the next few weeks, so that I can detox my body (and wallet) after Christmas!!
Hope everyone is doing ok!!
Thank you Violet for your stats - I keep a log on us as I lack short term memory and it helps. You sound like a busy person with multiple jobs and them being active ones too! You should do great!! Sounds like a great recipe although personally Im a wimp when it comes to spicy :P.
Your resolve Jen made you do great with so much restaurant socializing. That determination makes this look like your year and will be so happy for you. Plus all youve meals ready which is great to ward off temptation. I prefer cooking for days so theres less days of cooking.
Funny little things that you notice. I have my moments but in general, just realizing when Im walking short spurts or standing Ive got more ease. I think its not possible with only 4 days walking and it could be in my head, but whatever it is, that this will get progressive is pretty exciting.
Wishing Rachael safe travels today in her long drive home - we're thinking about you!
Morning all...
My scale is broken....won't budge below 185 point something???? Should I go buy a new one? I have been all over the map lately, geographicaly speaking, meaning I have been mostly at the mercy of "non weight watching calorie counting folks". Would you like a beer/non diet coke/just made a trip chocolate cake/want a giant blueberry muffin? Somebody shoot me please.... I'm suffering.
My wife is not on SB, and I have 2 kids 6-8 that are excited for me and are very concious about labels now but still like "kid" foods. I don't think watching labels is a bad thing, no harm in them knowing that foods have a nutrition label right?
My house is full of no no items for my wife and kids, but I am coping OK so far. With the faster weight loss intially, it was easier to stay motivated. Now that it seems to have stopped, well, not so easy. I want to loose at least 10 more lbs, so I continue the good fight.
Be well
