Here at the Going4Gold Gang it's all about sharing what your doing as an individual then sharing with the rest of the gang.
Everyone is Welcome
Finally, the marathon begins. Going for gold... love the concept. Hope to maintain my focus for the year as I have the past one. One yr ago, I was at 270...today at 200, and shooting for 175 by the end of 2008.
Today:
Burn Meter: 2450
Cal total: 1450 thousand calorie deficit for the day! thats awesome for a weekend day for me. Exercise? nope, none sadly. This week, when I am in Las Vegas...I will have plenty of time to hit the workout room. Could be kidding here, but I am sadly serious. Welcome to the race....best of luck to you all.
Dances, Whens that Christmas party for your fellow dieters???
Okay.. how do you get that little Gold Medal Horse thingy... I want one...

Dances- thanks about the fish oil, I'll check that.
Totals today:
1300 cals in vs. 2480 cals burned... may add something as I'm at least 50 under my usual for gym days and hungry today. My 6 month loss rate says I'm not burning as much as the tools say, so I'm not trying to be bad! 1000 is what I'd like for my deficit, and 2 lbs. a week. * sigh *
Exercise:
Did good! Made myself walk with my little horse, AND went to my gym- upstairs, lol!
I have some stairs, too!
Had 3 quarts water, very healthy balanced diet, A avg.
Analysis before any additions:
Fats higher today with 1/2 avocado = 28.6 % with 46 grams.
Protein for gym day = 26.4 % with 95 grams.
Carbs, almost entirely complex = 45.2 % with 162 grams.
Fiber is extra today, usually 30+, today = 53 grams.
I'll probably add some carbs and protein... This thread pushed me in a GOOD way today- I had a headache and excuses...! Thanks, dances! I've been GOOD today!!! ![]()

I think I'm going to check in weekly, on Sundays if that's okay. :)
Congrats to everyone so far!!! You're all doing so wonderful and are off to a fantastic start!!! Having a motivational thread is helpful....keeps my butt in gear!
Fat - 15.3% /Protein - 33.5% /Carbohydrates - 51.2%
Sodium a little higher than normal (2576 mg), Cholesterol reading higher has well (409 mg)--most of it due to eating 12 oz of grilled chicken breasts throughout the day, while fiber was lower than normal (25 grams)--overall not the best day for me w/r/t/ food intake.
Physical activity--ran 17.5 miles (weekly long run).
Wow! What a long run! ![]()
I'm sure I'd die just trying to walk that far, lol!!! ![]()
Go, wrm2105! ![]()
Molly!!! WOOOOO HOOOO! You go girl! *\o/* *\o/* *\o/* I am jumping for joy for you!! It burns calories too! Yay! *\o/*
And yay for you too Ittybitty! Good job going to the 'gym' !! I need to do that today.. (I have an elliptical in the bedroom and treadmill in the living room... and aerobic videos coming out the wazoo!!) Sheesh! What's my excuse for being heavy!!! Oh... yeah.... I need to get UNlazy!
Thanks for reminding me!
1,269 calories. 18.4% fat, 21.4% protein, 60.2% carbs and 26 grams fiber. I'm really happy that my fat is in the teens! It's hard for me to keep it that low. Oh, and I got an A-, so that's good!
Sunday's I always get off, so no workouts for me today!
Good job everyone!!!
Walter, that's 17.5 miles for all week right? Good job! How much to you run a day?!
Behind, a big weekend for me.
December 1st --
Exercise -- Training ride at tempo (65% max heat rate -- figger your max out by substracting your age from 220. This is your "fat burning zone" up to 80%). -- 50 miles yesterday. Then a 20-minute slow run with triathlon friends.
Total calories -- 2020 -- 32% fat, 21% protein, 47% carbs. Grade B+ Extra fat, cause of xmas party where cheese was the only protein source, and also I had some nuts. Ah well, no seconds and only red grapes for dessert. And no cocktails (night before a race...)
Other nosy news -- SO and I looked at 2 more new houses, haven't found our heart's desire yet. Also must sell 2 existing houses.
December 2nd
Exercise -- raced women's category 3/4 cyclocross race. 7th out of 10. Two laps of warm-up, plus a 30-minute race at about 90% max of heart rate during the event. Twisty, switchbacks, mud, rain, grass, sand pits, way fun. SO got 25th out of 37 in the Men's beginner master's. A fun day had by all. Probably burned +1500 calories.
Total calories -- 1850. 22% fat, 26% protein, 52% carbs (extra carbs for fuel today...) Drank +100 oz of water, you're going too fast to drink water during the race so you gotta get hydrated. I thoght of our GGG horse logo during the race, so much of it is pushing yourself to keep keeping on, even when you think you can't go on!
Other nosy news -- two new consulting contracts came though, for my marketing biz (I have 2 small companies). Yay, should pay off in about July, we love that.
Doing two more "bricks" this week (ride bikes plus short run). I'll be curious to see what burn rate/loss results.
Great work everyone, talk 2U in a couple daze!

Hi Pam!
I am recording my calories for today. 1204. I didn't get any exercise today other than swaying to the music in church and moving my leg...lol. Plus we went to the store a couple of times today and I still forgot my light whipped topping!! Tomorrow I go back over to the hosp. to see my mom so maybe I can stop on the way home. Boy I sure will be glad when she is back home and across the street from me, saves gas money!
I am starting to enjoy wearing clothes. When I was heavier I dreaded getting dressed for church, only had a few things that I liked how they fit. This morning I tried on a pair of pants that were too tight before and now they fit, except I need someone to hem them for me. I can lose weight but I can't grow taller! I even had on my chunky shoes and the pants still touched the floor. Oh well, I am kinda tired so I will report in again tomorrow.
