| Jan 22 2007 17:59 | ||
| I'm looking for a 130/120 club, but I don't see any topics started. If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know? Thank you :) |

Can I join too? College girl, I started at 135ish and now I am 125 ish and I'd really like to be 115ish (the ish's are all because my weight fluctuates REALLY dramatically over the course of the day/week) I was wondering if anyone had advice about losing the last bit. At 135 diet and excercise makes a much bigger difference than it does at 125, and I think I am stagnating somewhat. (I'm a large frame, and I form muscle very easily, so, to be fair, that could be throwing it off, but still.) I don't know if I am actually losing weight any more (I'm at 1500 calories a day) Any recommendations? |

YAY I finally found this! I've been looking for this thread for a while :) I'm pretty tall, like 5'11. So in the summer I was probably around 160, and by the time october came around I was down to 152 with a newer healthier diet and more regular visits to the gym. Now that I joined CC, I'm down to 138. But I've been stuck here for a month. Im thinking this might be the case:
- Last fall, I was eating 1300 calories with visits to the gym 3 times a week, around 6-700 calories burned a visit. - for the first two weeks of the month, I went all out. I was exercising to the point of burning 1100 calories 7 days a week, eating 1300 calories. I didnt lose a single pound - for the past week and a half, I upped my intake to 1650 calories, and have been going to the gym daily, burning 7-800 calories a visit. Am I exercising too much? Is it a buildup of muscle and loss of fat leaving my weight at the same place? Im really frustrated...I want to get down to 130. I shouldnt be gaining very much muscle because I go on an eliptical and run...on low resistance. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

| Alexwilliams: How much cardio do you do...can you do more of that and less muscle workout. How much water do you drink? If you are losing, you have to flush your body. What kind of calories do you consume? With your statistics, you should lose if the combinations are right. Give it another week, you might just be on a plateau. I wish you well. | ||

| Alexwilliams: If you are working out daily you may want to take a day or two off. Sometimes it helps me if my body rests for a day or two. Also getting enough sleep at night helps me. I'm always on the go with two kids and I can find myself getting up at 4:30 and doing a workout before work - then working out after the kids are in bed. Some days I'' go from 4:30 am till 10:30 pm. After a while my body just needs a break to rest. Keep up the good work though. Sounds like you've been doing great. | ||

lizeteichen: I do mainly all cardio workouts, with a small amount of weights for my arms at the end. Just lifts for my tri's and a few pushups here and there. I dont think it should be affecting my muscle mass that much?
I drink as much water as I can, I usually go through 3-4 bottles of 500ml water a day. I eat a lot of grains and vegetables - in the morning i have oatmeal and a yogurt parfait, with ongoing small snaks of veggies, fruit and maybe small portions of chicken or lean meat through the day. At dinner I usually have a 3-4 oz serving of meat, something with (low fat) yogurt in it, a large portion of vegetables, and then about an hour and a half after dinner I have oatmeal as my last snack of the day. I'm really hoping this is a plateau haha. clp1974: I'm a student so I sleep about 6-7 hours a night and I'm pretty ongoing and busy. Just lots of class and work to do. The gym is the only thing that keeps me kind of sane haha so I think thats why I go every day. Also, if I don't go to the gym and eat my 1650 calories, I feel like it's too much. It probably isn't, but I get a rotten feeling, y'know? haha it's just me being wierd. Thanks a lot for the help you guys! |

| alexwilliams, I would imagine at 5 foot 11, you are very thin at that weight! I bet you look fantastic! It sounds like you are right on track. Your body may be at its set point, and it is hard to go lower. I think being in college hinders it too - although is sounds like you lead a much healthier lifestyle than I did in college! Don't beat yourself up - you'll get where you want to be, but be patient. The last couple of pounds are the slowest to come off. Good luck! | ||

| I had a horrible weekend as well... I live in Indianapolis so the super bowl was huge here. lots of parties and celebrations, leaving little time for working out and a lot of time for eating BAD food. plus we've been having below 0 temps here which is very hard on the motivation part.. I don't want to get out of my warm bed in the morning!!! I hope to get back on track tomorrow morning.. and I'll pray I didn't gain any this week! good luck to everyone. | ||

I had a kind of similar question as alexwilliams: I eat on average around 1500 cal a day (except nights when I go out - I try to eat a little less but lord knows those beer cals add up quickly). I work out 6 days a week and 4 days burn between 350-600 calories and 2 days I do two a days (swim suit season is coming up fast!) and burn around 800. I haven't seen the weight loss results in the last two weeks (although like I said drinking could be part of it). I heard somewhere that you should eat at least 1200 calories to prevent your body from storing everything. If I am burning 600 calories say and eating 1500, that would put me at 900, so does the 1200 rule apply here? glaserpu, congrats on the superbowl win (although it somewhat hurts me to say that, i am a chicagoan). I feel you on the 0 temps and super bowl celebrations hindering working out a eating right! |

Hi everyone! I'd like to join. I'm 132 (130 in the AM) but just recently lost 4 lbs. Trying to get to 120. 5'4", smallish frame. Can't seem to get rid of my belly. Met with a trainer, and she told me 200 sit ups three times a week, crazy! But I'm going to try it.
I've found that if I stop eating at 6 pm (or at least 4 hours before bedtime) I lose more weight quicker. It's that night time sweet tooth that gets me into trouble. Some other things that have helped me-I eat a fiber cake (zen bakery) every morning with egg whites. I also eat every 3 hours, with a little (3 oz) of protein and a fresh fruit or veggie. I'm hoping to wake up at 129 at least by Friday. |

I hate having to write this number down today!
2/7 weigh in:132 goal 120 I cannot seem to lose the 4 lbs that I gained over the weekend with drinking and eating. You'd think with all the exercising and watching my calories I'd at least lose a pound. I've got water weight too because my rings are tight. Oh well, maybe that means next week will look real good! |

I'd like to join, albeit a little late!
I'm 5'9", currently 138/139. I've been 'dietng' for about a month, and have only lost 1 lb. The changes in my eating habits have been dramatic - I'm eating 5 times a day now, have cut out sugar and all processed foods and trying to keep my calories to around 1600. I'm also back working out at the gym, but not early as hard as I guess I need to be. I do FEEL great eating this way, and my skin is great, but I want to lose some weight too! I carry ALL of my extra weight around my mid-section (I have a small frame). I think that I need to lose 10 pounds, so my goal is !30! |

| I wanna join too (better late than never!) - I started at around 136... I am getting down slowly! Eating this way makes me feel so great! I love it, and to feel in control of my eating habits as well as being able to control the way I feel physically as a result of eating right is an incredible thing. I am down to about 126 last time I checked (maybe a little over a week ago), I don't have a scale, so I don't know if I've gained or lost since then. I do know however, that my size six pants that were shoved away in a drawer are being worn this very moment! yahoo! Although, I have to admit, I am scared to get back on that scale! yikers! | ||

2/7 weigh-in --> 137.5 Goal --> 130 Have been stuck at around 138.0 for the past few weeks, despite heavy workouts and 1650 calorie diet. Hoping this is getting away from the plateau and slowly moving down. |
