But in October of 2006 I begin to lose a few pounds and feel really good about myself. Over the following months I allowed myself to become obsessed with losing weight and eating very few calories. I became alarmingly small and my family became worried. They were all very supportive and now I am back to a very healthy size and feeling better then ever!!! Hello All,

I'm new here at this site and looking forward this new approach for weight loss/management.  I'm looking to lose about 35-40lbs.  I'm a 41 year old city girl who is desk bound 9 hours a day and has a pretty active social life.  Although I'm pretty knowledgeable about what I should be eating, it has been hard for me to keep on-track.  I find it hard to make time for excercise, prepare healthy meals and find cooking somewhat of a bore.  Plus, my significant other loves to dine out and/or eat often which proves quite irresistable for me. Apparently, I'm a "Team Player" eater. Would love to find other like-minded members to help each other in our weight loss goals.

Favorite color?  I always say green is my favorite color, but I’m a die hard Seahawks fan, so almost anything I buy from my clothes, jackets, beer steins, shot glasses, home office décor is Seahawks related, so I own a lot of blue stuff.  I even picked out a blue close to the team color when I bought my truck.

Favorite movie?  I’m a big movie fan, so it’s hard for me to pick just one.  I love the all the movies that are normally listed here, Godfather I & II, Braveheart, Scarface, and so-on.  The only two non-Seahawk related items on my office wall are framed movie posters of Swingers and Old School, so I would have to say those too.  With Halloween around the corner, I suppose I can list a favorite horror movie, or two.  I still get creeped out when I watch The Exorcist, and while less scary, I’ve always been a fan of the Nightmare on Elm St. series.

9. Hobbies?  I enjoy reading, and besides the Seahawks, I enjoy watching all kinds of sports, pro & college.  I also enjoy the outdoors, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, and snow skiing.

Biggest Obstacle to Getting Healthy?  Being disciplined with my eating habits.  My wife is lucky enough to have the metabolism that allows her to stay thin and keep a steady weight year-after-year without any special effort on her part at all.  I’m the exact opposite, if I don’t watch what I eat, I balloon up really fast.  I’m not the type of person that gets cravings, I don’t sit in front of the TV wishing I had a bowl of Doritos, but, if I do have a bowl of Doritos, I’ll eat them no problem.  So, as long as I don’t have the bad food in the house, I find it easy to eat healthy.  While my wife enjoys healthy eating habits too, she does like the occasional unhealthy snack, and again she can enjoy them without consequence.  It would be unfair of me to demand that she not have any snacks in our house just because I don’t have the discipline to not eat them.  While my wife supports my dieting, she isn’t going to nag me or act like my mother if I grab a handful of cookies from the jar, so it’s entirely up to me to have the will power not to eat the snack foods in the house.

I just got back from a 16 month deployment to Iraq, and over there had lots of time to go to the gym, which I did, and packed on a good amount of muscle and got nicely toned. Then I went on 30 days of leave...and didn't exercise at all. So all my hard work faded away. Now I'm just trying to turn all that 'fluff' back into some tone muscle!! My work schedule isn't set, so my gym time has to vary every day, which is hard to commit to. I'm not big on going to the gym by myself, and there's not a lot of motivated people out here, so that's hard as well. Anyone with tips please reply!!

Weight/Fitness Goal? i weigh 125 right now, which is on the high end of the healthy weight range for someone who is 5'0.  i'd like to be at the lower end of the healthy weight range--i'd be content with 110.  I was around 105 lbs about 8 months ago, but i had a depression phase where i ate too much.  i'd like to fit back into my pants...i apparently gained most of the weight in my thighs.

Anything Else You'd Like To Share? i've always been up and down with my weight and i'm tired of it.  i used to be 135 (overweight for my height) when i was binging regularly, but since i stopped extreme binging i've been about 120-125 for a few years.  i still overeat though, and i'd like to stop that.  i was able to get down to 105lbs counting calories last year, but it got a little too tedious for me.  i hope that being involved with the community on this site will motivate me to listen to my body more and just eat less.
