140/130 club

Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

Was down a 1lbs today. New weight: 142.5lbs. I had Dairy Queen tonight; don't regret it though. Have to make 'lifestyle' change sustainable and that includes ice cream!

uno100:  Your pedometer may be giving you the steps you traveled rather than the miles.  I have two pedometers, one that records just steps and another which can be set for either steps or miles.  lkm

I'm pretty frustrated... up to 141 this morning. I'm not sure if it was lack of exercise this weekend or what... but I'll see what happens tomorrow. Maybe I'm retaining water or something. I did have one big jump a few weeks ago from 139 to 142 and back to 139 all within 4 days, so maybe this will be down to 138 tomorrow... :) wishful thinking!

prdmommy- I'm about 5 lbs away from my goal as well and it is tough. I've been struggling around 139 for a few weeks, which is down from my starting point around 145, but it is still frustrating. I just change up my routines and meals to keep my metabolism up and my body guessing. I'm hoping to be down to a steady 137 by the end of April, so I set a small goal of 2 lbs this month so it's more attainable now that my body is getting used to my new eating habits and exercise. I also try to just remember how far I've come and how little I have left to go and that makes me feel a little better too :)

here's to a better today for me than these past 2!
back down to 148. I am glad I wasn't up too long...I have to go to school after work for awhile to do a project. I am not sure if I will get to go running....which stinks b/c today is the first non-rainy day we have had in awhile. Anyways, good luck to everyone today. Sounds like everyone is really doing well!!
So I'm setting a record for long plateau ever here. lol I'm starting to get a little frustrated, but trying to remember how far I've come and how great I look in my new size 8 pants.

I got my first really great compliment last Friday. A co-worker asked me if I'd lost some weight. I said "a little" (dont' want to sound braggy). She was dying to know how I was doing it etc. I gave her this website and I hope she looks into it. She's stuck where I was before cc. She's working out like a madwoman and not losing anything. Until I started counting, I was right there with her.

What am I saying. I'm there now! Well - not really. I have the utmost faith that if I just hang in there, I'll start losing again.

lmarshal - thanks for the tip. The one I had before was a freebie, though - so I really need to get a "real" big-girl pedometer.
Good Morning All!

Another weekend of poor eating habits, but plenty of exercise!  I wonder if I can start a stretch of longest days without cheating?  OK!  So that means today is day 1 yay!

Missed everyone this weekend, but it has been soooo nice out and I am out riding my bike!  I'm thinking of getting into swimming again!  I really miss it!

It's beautiful today, and it's supposed to snow later this week--boooo! :(

hey everyone.. boy did i have a lot if reading to catch up on. had to to a lot this weekend so wasnt able to post or count calories. Friday I had salmon and brocolli from chillis (it was so good). Then i went out and partied till 4 in the morn. Saturday I drove to Tallahasee to see my best friend.. I had some bourbon chicken and mashed potatoes. Went and partied that night as well. Yesterday I was fiening for my dads cooking so i went to the jamaican resturant and had some curry goat and oxtail. Excuse me but then later i was in what i call "fat girl" mode and had a whopper and a sweet tea... when i got home i weighed myself because i knew that i gained weight from all the eatin i had done over the weekend. the scale read 148.5 which is a 3.5 gain... this morning it read 147.0 so i dont feel that bad. This weekend i will get back on track and all will be right with the world..


OH yeah i took pics this weekend i will post them tonight when i get home.


SO what did yall splurge on this weekend?
OOOh, I love jamaican--and real smokehouse bbq, which is what I had--pulled pork, smoked baby back ribs, chicken, mac n cheese, baked beans....and plenty of beer to wash it all down!
mmmm, messam that all sounds great! I didn't splurge so much as just not exercise. I kind of splurged on cheese and crackers... yum. Mildly healthy, but I ate a lot :) I also splurged on toast on Sunday, 3 pieces... yum... I had that with egg whites and a few pieces of bacon, so I suppose it wasn't too terrifying!! I had ice cream Friday night, that was delicious! I actually ate pretty ok this weekend... I think sloppy joes from last night are making me retain water... and I didn't workout much. I rode my bike Friday and went for a walk Sunday, but nothing as active as I usually do. I was pretty tired... better luck this week!!
stacey - i am sure you will drop back down :) your bodys just trying to adjust to the new weight, surely :) and surely the sloppy joes are making you retain...

uno - you have done great, and being in a size 8 is awesome:)

dee - at least you got plenty of exercise in over the weekend... and i am going to join ya on seeing how long a stretch of days i can go without cheating..  day 1... lol...  bummer its suppose to snow for ya later this week...  dont you hate when the weather fluctuates as much as your weight does?? lol..

messam - you arent the only one who splurged this weekend.. i had (all in the same day) a nice juicy hamburger, chips, 4 - 5 slices of pizza hut pizza, and dairy queen...  and no exercise on sunday due to the heartburn and bloating i got from saturday...  and my weight skyrocketed to 148.5 ... :(

so still at 148.5 this morning.. i dont think i even got 24oz of water in yesterday :( in fact i slept most of the day away, waking up loong enough to eat frosted mini wheats at lunch time, then waking up again to go to hubbys boat for dinner, where i had steak and shrimp..  today is a new day, and i better not cheat on it lol...

so heres to a new week ya'll.. lets see some good losses, some good exercise and some good calories :)  (my kids also go back to school today, so thats a plus :) )

That's right Brigitte! Today is day 1 of no cheating!  Just drink lots of water to flush the system!  I'm trying to do that, because I am bloated too!

Oh darn! I only had lunch half an hour ago and I'm alreayd hungry again.

Right now I'm sucking on a leftover candy cane I found in my classroom. Yes, it's from xmas. Uh-oh. Trying desperately not to go finish off a donut I saw in the lounge.

Hungry, hungry, hungry. Daydreaming about making something yummy with my tofu noodles when I get home. Maybe put them in some soup with veggies? Haven't tried them in soup yet.
carabo- I have a healthometer scale. I don't mind it so much. I think it fluctuates a little so I wouldn't mind something a little more reliable. But it never goes too far. Usually around .5 lbs. Not too bad.

hang in there uno! I've never had tofu anything before... Maybe I should give it a shot b/c I'm looking for a little change for my lunches... hmm...
i've got a taylor scale and it's all right.  i think they're generally pretty good, although i don't always like what it tells me :) but it seems to be pretty consistent with when i went to the DR back in january and on the scale at the gym. my mom's scale always reads about 2 lbs less, but i think hers is off.

been out pretty much all day today.  this weekend was very bad with no exercising, but i was sleeping a lot and i think i earned it :)  so back on the exercise wagon today--going to try to get in runs and stuff in the afternoon since it's starting to get so nice out.  supposed to go out for margaritas with friends today, so i don't know if i'll have time for a good one. maybe just go through my ab routines and do some of those.

welcome back everyone! sounds like you all did a good job on not putting on too much weight, which is awesome! and wolfie--way to go on all that exercise! that's fantastic!

sorry for you guys who are struggling a little--i'm right there with you. i've gotten down below 143, but didn't quite make it to my 140 goal for april 1, and am floating around 142 right now.  i'm hoping it goes down since i just got over ttom and a lot of ppl say that their weight drops after :) so i'm hoping!!! :)

but here're the goals i've got going for right now:

1. 140 lbs by april 1--missed the date, so basically going for ASAP :)
2. Size 7 in Juniors by Mid-April
3. 138 lbs by May 1st
4. Workout 1750 minutes
5. Do 300 minutes of Abs
court - thanks!  i actually like working out on vacations because it seems i have so much more time than normal so what's my excuse!? :)  i think all the walking you will do in italy will help so much on your weight loss!

prd - hang in there - you can do it! a week & a half with no change is normal and okay.  don't let that stop you from success, your weight will budge again soon.  sometimes it just takes a little adjusting time in between.

unicat - i think maybe is was just sodium 'cause today i weighted 145 - the weight i was before i left!!  maybe i really did maintain in nyc.  tomorrow's my official weigh-in day, i'm crossing my fingers that more sodium will go away and i'll discover that i actually lost weight in nyc, which is entirely possible with the insane amount of walking i did.  here's to hoping! :)  that is so awesome you needed a new ID - what a compliment!!!
YAY Teen :) i hope you weigh less tomorrow :) that would be awesome to know you were capable of maintaining and losing on a trip :) how cool :)  and yes its a great compliment that i needed a new id cos i didnt look like me anymore lol.. :)

omg omg omg! i had to post because while i was getting ready to go for a run (i'm half dressed right now) i stepped on the scale, "just to see" ;) and it said 140.5!!!

but it's the middle of the day and not my weigh-in time :( BOO!!!  i guess i'll just have to wait and see where i'm at tomorrow.  but a new low!!! woohoo!!! and it's half a pound away from my april 1 goal of 140! woot!
yay morgan :) i am sure you will be down tomorrow, cos normally you go up during the day so for your midday weight to be down, thats awesome :)
