| Jan 22 2007 17:59 | ||
| I'm looking for a 130/120 club, but I don't see any topics started. If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know? Thank you :) |

Hi hanholt! I'm doing just calorie counting right now, but I bought Turbo jam, so I'm getting it next week. I'm so lazy I know, but I'll have to push myself into it. I used to practice professional kickboxing and it's an AMAZING workout, but had to quit it because of my job.

hanholt -- see my profile for my diet/routine, it has worked wonders for me. If I can only offer two words of advice it would be #1 protein, #2 weights.
aidy -- kickboxing can really ge tthe heart going, have fun! (BTW a 1/2 # is barely a gain) collins -- you are doign so great (despite the binge) smile -- I will have to try your recipe for a cheat sometime, it sounds good (I am not allowing juice currently) I love yogurt! simi -- I forgot this last time, I also take two fiber choice tablets a day (for a few extra grams of fiber plus they taste really good). wonderwhy -- I second smiles "one day at a time" climb back on that horse after a bad studying/snacking session. The worse thing you can do is just say "damage done." saucidej -- hey! a fellow former cross countrier :) My update, well I have been cutting for 11 weeks now. Calories are staying the same but food type and timing is getting stricter. I am making a better efforts to eat protein within 30 m of my morning bike ride. I had slacked the last few weeks and had waitied an hour a few times, bad me. (i am ALWAYS good about eating after weights but have not been taking my cardio as serious, which I think is an oversight now). And on a very sad note, I decided this week it was time for the tsp of sugar and 3 tbs half&half to go from my coffee. I have been at a plateau so i am hoping this will help. You know i am serious when it starts to affect my coffee. I am not entirely prepared to go black, so I am doing 2% milk this week w/ no sugar. Next week if I do not break this plateau it will be black. No cheat again this week. I really want to be ready for my trip in June to Mexico, so I need to take it seriously now. It is afterall only 12 weeks away. Oh and case I was not properly motivated. A friend will be joining my family (incl. husband) in Mexico and she is a former Calvin Klein model. So i really want to look my best considering we spend 8 hours a day in bikinis. I know it is pure vanity but it motivates because I do not want to be the squishy friend. |

Aidy - Well thats how I sounded about 2 weeks ago. Just remember its like the best feeling after you work out :]
Jredig - Yeah I looked at your diet sounds about like mine, but I dont count the protein. I do, do weights though :] Margo - Thanks for the welcoming :] How much calories do you think I should intake for being 17. 130pounds. 5'5" I exercise about 5-6 days for an hour. I am about lightly/moderately active. I am thinking 1600 calories? IDK. I am so confused with this I just dont want to gain weight, or be in starvation mode, or slow my metabolism down. UGH.
I think I am going to update my profile for what I do. |

Hi everyone.... Just a mention to hanholt7 - I would presume 1600 calories is a good amount givin' your age, exercise routine, weight and such. Though that's just my opinion...not a doctor or anything. Keep up the positive attitude everyone! :D Jen - I just want to say, you are looking 'AMAZING!' right now.....so keep up the good work and yeah, I'd say it's okay to want to look smokin' in front of the former CK model...hehe....why not, right!? :D It's more like self esteem booster than negative vanity, right???? ;D As for the yogurt dip.....it really doesn't have that much juice, but nonetheless, hope you do try it sometime...it is good. :D I really didn't see it as being a food to put in the 'cheat' category....there isn't that much 'bad stuff' in the mix for that is there??? hehe. Aw well....guess that's why you look like you do and I am at a bit of a standstill at the moment. haha. I am having a tough time this week......think my 'slip up' day the other day really got to me....and not having worked out yesterday b/c I wasn't feeling well has also added to that 'downward spiral' feeling. :/ Yes, I have to keep reminding myself too...'One day at a time'...:D Just goes to show I need to heed my own advice just as much as I give it. :D Tonight isn't a gym night, but I'll be making sure I stay moving as much as I can before my BL show and in btwn. commercials. :D Laundry day too..grr..haha. Have a great evening, ladies! ttyl. :D -Margo

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you all know how motivational you are! I'm feeling a little depressed and restless today because I haven't worked out since last wednesday! I got my wisdom teeth out friday:( I went for a 3 mile walk yesterday which made my head pound like crazy. I found out that I have a dry socket today so I'm definitly not working out. I haven't been eating that much so I'm drained.....sorry about the ranting. The point is...I came to the forum to see how everyone was doing and you all rock!! Not only are you all being successful in some way, you are also encouraging each other. I can't wait to be healed so I can continue my 120 goal! Good luck with weigh-ins this week |

Jredig-- yeah, kickboxing is great! I really enjoy it, sadly I don't have time to practice it anymore, that's why I'm getting Turbo Jam, hopefully it works as good as I've read. hanholt-- You're so right! I use to feel "thin" after workout! lol dmartineau-- I still wonder why do we have wisdom teeth! Hope you feel better!

Taylor - I must admit to finishing off an ENTIRE box of samoas in the single sitting a few weeks ago. Blast those Girl Scout Cookies!! Evil...hehehe Danielle - I got an infection when I had my wisdom teeth out. NOT fun. Hang in there and thanks for adding your encouraging voice to the mix! Jen - After a few days of repeatedly seeing that muscle-y back of yours around here, I have decided to make a more conscious effort to increase my upper body strength! You have inspired me. The Summary of My CC Adventure to Date: Here are my calorie stats since I started calorie counting March 1st (before I knew exactly what I was doing). I have the feeling that my metabolism must be thinking, "What the....?" hahaha It's so much harder to hit my BMR (1460) than I thought! 1110, 1300, 1450, 1035, 960, 1050, 1160, 1440, 2170 (Indian food! haha), 1180, 1370, 1395, 1430, 1350, 1650, 1965, 1110. I'm hoping that my next two weeks of stats will be a lot more stable than that! Since I don't have a scale at home (I weigh-in at the gym on campus), I decided to ask my closet how I'm doing. The results: 1. I have bras that are 34 and 36. I have to clasp the 36s on the tightest clasp now (if that made sense)! The 34s fit much more comfortable (hate that bra pooch!) 2. I can somewhat comfortably wear my New York and Company size 4 pants now, as opposed to three weeks ago when I couldn't even zip them up (one of my wake-up calls to weight gain) 3. I can fit nicely in that little pair of size 5 denim shorts that I've never had the guts to wear in public! (I hate shorts! I have long thighs so I always look scandalous in them!) haha At least now I'll be able to wear them around the house when it gets warmer! OK, that's it for the closet report. Now a question... Do you ladies feel like there are parts of you that are already plenty skinny and parts of you that will NEVER be as skinny as you might like? For example, I recently noticed that even at 140lbs, if I held my breath, I could count my ribs. That's because I have a naturally small waist and an enormous and wide-set ribcage. And that's one of the reasons I don't want to go all the way down to 120. Nobody likes seeing all those ribs (unless we're talking BBQ, of course...). On the other hand, my arms are pretty flabby in proportion to the rest of my body. It's almost funny when shirts fit me fine everywhere but my ARMS! I've finally come to terms with the fact that I will never have skinny arms. Now it's time to get some muscle on 'em! Sorry for the rambling post! Enjoy the rest of your afternoons!! |

I agree, Girl Scout cookie season is the worst! I was close to attacking a box of Caramel Delites, but thankfully (sort of), my guy finished the whole box (for me... yeah right...). It's amazing how last year, when I could afford to eat a monstrous amount of cookies, the damn Girl Scouts were nowhere to be found, but now that I'm dieting, they're everywhere. I have an arm flab problem too, and I'm pretty sure that mine isn't going anywhere because I had it back when I was 120 and exercising daily from high school sports. Also cheek fat and chin fat. My parents told me it was just baby fat... well I'm 24 now and it's still here. BTW, good luck Jen! Competition is some great motivation lol |

oh Sauciedj - that 'baby fat' on your chin might not be baby fat. I know mine is here to stay and it's one of those things that really gets me... like sometimes when I smile big or pull my head back in one of those 'what ever' poses I feel like I Have a double chin... even if the rest of me is tiny :) Oh well. I also do not like my knees, not everyone is perfect! I am enjoying working out though. That way I get to improve what I've already got going, and that is all that I can do :) Accentuate the best parts of you :) (I love my boobs!)

Is today the weigh in day? I started at 132 Last week I was 129.6 And today I am 126.6 So I'm very happy about that! I'm trying to get down to 110, or more realistically probably 115. |

Good morning ladies! :D Yep, Kathleen, Wednesdays are weigh in days. :D Congrats on your progresss! :D My update... I started at 141 lbs. on Jan. 22 2008 (beginning of my BL challenge and around the time I started back with CC and this forum). Last week I weighed in at 134 lbs. (however, I somehow think that was a fluke, since I seemed to jump 2lbs. or so w/in a week...) Today I weighed in at 136.2 lbs. Also, while I didn't get much progress in yesterday w/ exercise...grr...I had a nice heart to heart w/ my Mom and that doesn't happen as often...so at least I can say I am happy for that. :D Off to the gym tonight for sure...weight class tonight. whoooo! Good luck with the rest of your week everyone! Have a great Wednesday! Keep up the GREAT work! P.S. Side note....Taylor I was browsing your pics and noticed the 'Bite Me' shirt...cute! I have that same 'Bite Me, Salem MA' but in a sweatshirt....I visited there in Oct. of 06. Ttyl. :D -Margo |

Good morning and happy Wednesday! I can't believe all the pages of posts I have to catch up on, only being gone a few days.
Obviously at this point, my weigh-ins don't *count* but I am pretty happy with staying around the same weight--I am now into my sixth week of pregnancy. I weighed 126.6 this morning and continue to fluctuate between 125-128 on any given day. I'm really hoping to stay under the 130's during my whole first trimester--as the recommended gain is only a few pounds during this time. I ran a 12K in San Francisco on Sunday and although my time was definitely not a PR for me, I was very happy with my finish. About those pesky girl scout cookies--thank God my husband ate all of them while I was in San Fran. But, don't think I didn't eat my share before I left :) Jen-I think you will have no problem wearing a bikini for 8 hours around a former model. You will not be the soft friend! Whonderswhy-awesome closet report. I think you should be thrilled to be wearing the size 4s and 5s. Good luck to everyone on the weigh in today. I love reading about all the different things you're doing and all of your progress! |

Congrats Gretamarie at running a 12K! Whoohoo! That is certainly an accomplishment in my eyes....esp. since I'm not a runner...and double b/c you are pregnant (even if it is just 6 weeks along)! Glad to hear all is well thus far in your pregnancy and your weight goals too. :D Wonderswhy...yes, celebrate in those new clothes! :D Oh..the dreaded Girl Scout cookie time..hehe..I love those...esp. the peanut butter patty ones! Though my Mom didn't order any this year...so I haven't had any. Though I've done damage in other ways these last 2 weeks....here and there anyway. Like BK for lunch this past Saturday....it was a very stressful day for me and my boyfriend.....car issues! Though regardless...keep up the wonderful progress ladies! :D It's snowing here right now...still! It's 1 day until the 1st day of Spring and NE is STILL stuck in the stinkin' winter weather! -Margo |

So i'm not sure what has been going on with my body but.. Started at 132 in Jan. Last week was 127.5 I believe. This week.. 129. I've never gone up that much in one week because my weight is usually very very steady so I'm frustrated. BUT, my totm is starting this Friday so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Gosh do I feel bloated. |

Ok my turn...totm this week, so up to 134.3. BLAH> Plus we've had friends in town, so I've exchanged my downward trend for fun friends, yummy food, an good wine....at least for this week. aidy- I love Turbo Jam..it's so gun as long as you can stand her continual smiles and peepy mood while your working your butt off. I like Billy Blanks Tae bo a little better. I feel that his workouts give a bit more strength training than Turbo Jam. His Fat blasting Cardio is great. wonderwhy - I wish I had a bigger butt and smaller cheeks....I often joke about having some fat sucked out of my cheeks to put in my other cheeks...haha. Happy hump day everyone! |

well this week i'm at 138.6, so still no improvement on scale, but my clothes are fitting a little better, so i'm gonna keep on trying. I think i'm gonna try running a little harder, I'm thinking of signing myself up for a 10k run so i have to get up and work on this running thing, maybe it will be good motivation. We'll see. Good luck to everyone today. |

Wonderswhy – ahh thanks for telling me. I do love them weights. The fact that your cals jump on day to the next can actually be a good thing (keeping your body guessing is good), you stats look pretty good (cals a little low in the beginning but great at the end). I am glad to see you are putting your focus on your closet, healthiest way to go about it because scales encourage muscle loss. Amem sister. Sing it! I am a pear, with an itty bitty upper body and ghetto booty. I lose weight on my arms, back, stomach first. The very last to go is hips and thighs. So frustrating because I am fine with my upper body, I just want the muscle on my booty to pop a little more. Ahhh if only fat could be “spot reduced.” This problem of being skinny some places but squishy in others is why I starting taking lifting seriously. I realized I needed to build up these skinny parts, so when I did lose the weight needed elsewhere I would not be all bony and gross. I admit I can still count my ribs but they are now partially obliterated by my lats, which I really like. After another year of heavy lifting I hope they are invisible, while my thighs are very lean. So I am with you but I believe it is possible, it just takes a lot of hard work to mold what you have into the best it can be. I will never look like a Angelina Jolie but I can be well proportioned (thanks to weights), healthy and athletic with no cellulite. Kathleen – good job! (I almost wrote kathLEAN b/c afterall it is a diet site) Smiles – You are making great progress, even if last week was a fluke, you will be back there soon enough. SNOW!!! Ewww. It is time for bunnies and flowers. Gretamarie—so glad you are checking in still, congrats on the 12K I admire all you true distance runners. Simi – If you feel bloated that is your dead give away. So no worries but sorry because I know it is so frustrating. Started at: 143# on December 28, 2007 Last week: 135.6# (TOTM) This week: 134.4# I am hoping that I am still retaining a little and I am not still on this blasted plateau. Come on now I gave up half&half in my coffee. I guess I will know for sure by Friday. Goal weight: 130# by April 1 Not looking good, I may have to push it back a week or so. :( |

I started at 129 almost four weeks ago. Last week I was at 126. Today I weighed in at 124.5, but I think 125/125.5 is more accurate (I've still been weighing myself daily because I'm OCD like that lol... I don't get depressed by any sudden increases because I figure 127 is still better than 129) And my goal weight is 115 by the end of May. I'm really scared, this weekend I'm headed to Vegas, the land of alcohol and buffets... I know I won't be able to count for the three days I'm there because I think I'll be embarrassed to let the friends I'm going with know that I'm dieting. I'll probably just try to proportion, but I'm almost certain I won't be able to stick to the schedule I've been on, probably won't be eating breakfast or snacks... I hope 3 days of one buffet a day (which is what I anticipate) won't completely throw me off. |
