Ive still a few Kiki foods here since she moved in with dad and bagged the unopened ones to bring since my friend has a few children. Mac&cheese, cornbread mix, gummi fruits snacks, breakfast bars, canned fruit in syrup.
Took a break to wear I could eat asparagus and only fresh but it was short lived. I'd buy it to diet canned (yuck) because it was so low cal and know have 8 cans still. Baking cupcakes would have been issue for me - Im not even a cake fan but the smell of it baking messes with my head!
Using my sign in later as commitment to stay strong catching up with my friend (plus the ugh fullness in my gut)!
Sunday Evening Update ...
We hit 94 degrees here today, and in addition to biking 20 MILES, I went swimming. The biking was HOT and the pool was FREEZING! And I have the most entertaining sunburn ... which stops at my ankles (socks) and wrists (biking gloves).... oh well. While I was in the pool, Minnie Dog decided she wanted to join me ....
I also noticed my roses are in bloom . . .
THE FIRST MORNING GLORY OF THE SEASON
A JOHNNY JUMP UP (GROWN FROM A SEED!)
Anyway, after taking 2 days off to celebrate (and eat my way through) my anniversary, I'm not going NEAR a scale until later this week -- if then. Of course, I've only lost .4 for April (which is pretty darn sucky) .... this plateau thing just stinks, ya know? Still, I'd rather be plateauing at 1900 than plateauing at 1500, so there is THAT to be thankful for! And I am definitely getting stronger!!!! (I will do measurements again in May .... to see what's changed since March)
MOLLY
Bee. I hear ya on the economy. I cant complian about the weather here though. My kids would love to see lots of snow we didnt get any this year..... just ice.
Jayne way to clean out that pantry.
Molly wow your flowers are beautiful. The only luck Ive had with flowers so far is cannas and white star jasmine which I dont think i could kill if I wanted to. hope my veggie garden turns out this year. Its good to take break now and them Good Luck
Made ratatoullie last night and it was a big hit with everyone but my son. I have the hardest time getting him to eat his vegetables. Have a great day all.
Molly, you take the most amazing photos - they are so perfectly cropped and colorful. Hating those plateaus but as weathering thru them, you have to wonder the gain that could come if you werent watching your intake since the body is being so stubborn
I had to look up ratatoullie - Ive heard of it before but thought it was more of a chili, although what I saw didnt list meat. Feeling the chill there Sarah? I realize its expected to be warmer thru the week but each one of these I keep thinking, "This has got to be the last one....". Will be regretting those thoughts when the heatwave hits.
how is everyone doing?? Weekend was good, but was filled with some junk food unfortuneately! Back to the healthy eating and so far so good!! Just had a lovely lunch of cabbage, carrots & parsnips and organic potatoes - leftovers from yesterdays dinner, but still delish!!
Ha - emptry day on the thread and coming in late late. Confirmed Gina - so far so good! Funny Rachael about the trees - one of the perks I enjoyed moving to Florida is leaving work and driving by palm trees, something so vacation-y relaxing about them.
Kiki took 1 of her 3 cats, down to 2 for adoption but strangely I may not be able to let go gigi who adopted me instead of Kiki. She follows me around like a dog would, room to room. I dont know that I can get past the litterbox cleaning though - just hearing it be cleaned turns my stomach. Cant get past gigi not having me, she's so dependent - cries when I dont let her in the bathroom with me. I did NOT sign up for this NOR did I encourage it but get used to it? Maybe.
Yikes Rachael - imagining how you felt when you saw the crack but thank goodness because you might not discovered the inside until at the luncheon! Alice called about another cake decorating but not until May - a camoflauge baby shower (the husbands heading off to the army). We were running through ideas but always wait to see the invitation to go along with the theme.
Tuna followed by cantaloupe for breakfast -kinda weird. Usually wary of cantaloupe - have had some that werent sweet but thankfully good and 1/4 of a melon on SB for a fruit surprised me.
BTW pulled out and planted some sprouting seeds from a spaghetti squash and one of them is standing up now. Squash doesnt seem like an inside plant :D and theres no way I'll work with outside dirt and potential bug/ creatures so seeing how far this will go. My house is full of fake plants I cant even keep alive - Sasha the cat eats them (!?) but she is next for adoption so we'll see what happens.
Hi ladies -- I have been so busy lately....swamped working very, very long days. There have been two pages of posts since I last posted so I have a lot of catching up to do! I am glad to report that I survived the weekend! I cheated a little and had some sangria -- couldn't resist cause was in a really good Spanish restaurant. And the best news is......SBD is working for me! I am down 2.5 pounds! YEAH!!!!
Have another question and would love to get your advice....A week or so before starting SBD, I started on Crestor cause my cholesterol levels were very high. Now.....I have to go for the 30 day blood test to see where we are...I am afraid that eating this way will not show that my cholesterol levels decreased and it might actually show that they increased and will cause him to increase my dosage. Do any of you have regular blood tests? Did the SBD have an effect on the results? Do you think I should go off of it before I go for the blood test?
Thanks and sorry I haven't been able to respond to any of your posts this time. I will go back and read them once things settle down for me but I know I need to have this blood test done soon cause I am running out of meds.
Ive never had my cholesterol checked so I dont know. South beach diet is supposd to help your blood work by focusing on good fats. I think as long as your eating low fat meat, cheese and yogurt. You should be good. If your on cholesterol meds they should help. My mom is on them and she eats chocolate all the time and hers is fine(she hsnt changed her diet enough after her heart attack if you ask me..... but My nagging does no good and Ive given up)
My cat is an indoor/outdoor cat so no litter box for me. occasionally she gets stuck inside and has an accident but its always in the bathroom next to the toilet so makes for easy cleanup to bad I cant toilet train her. She caught a HUGE rat yesterday I could hear it squeeking for about 30 minutes(I think she was playing with her food LOL)
Rachel glad you figured out what went wrong with the cake. I get so mad when things like that happen. I hate wasting food and having to start all over again.
Rachael, if you try the spaghetti squash before putting on tomato sauce like so many do give it a shot with some parmesean cheese - it doesnt takeover the taste. I was so surprised to learn that light parmesean cheese has the same calories but less fat then regular (speaking of grated kraft brand) by replacing some cheese with starch fillers. As little as I use, I couldnt justify giving up the flavor for the same calories. Hope your second cake fared better!
Our cats are inside but they still have managed to get them selves stuck by pushing doors closed because they dont know how to get the to open wider so when you finally discover them, youve got to do check in closets and such for accidents while they couldnt get out. I forget how tough it was with little ones, affecting your scheduling - Ugh!
just a quick hi! hope everyone is doing well!!
Strange thing happened to me - in the middle of TOM - and my weight went down by 2lbs!! how is that possible?? Still feel pretty bloated!
Gina way to go with the 2 pounds a loss is a loss. maybe youll lose more when the bloating goes away.
Rachel good going on resisting temptation at the pizza luncheon. Sounds like you had a blast
ooooo I hate the dentist ....but if I would go more often I wouldnt be in this mess. I also have dropped a mystery pound hope it stays off till tomorrow for the weigh-in
