niccimax~ Good job on the golf! Even 600 calories burnt on golf is amazing... I wouldn't have thought it to be very strenuous, especially 1000... surprising. Sounds like you did good at the pub... not sure if i could have been that good. Hope you got the drop you wanted!
melody_anne~ At least like you mentioned, it was a pound DOWN. It's going in the right direction, just keep plugging along. By the way, how tall are you? I thought your post said you're 5'6", but I thought I saw 5'8" on your profile page... just curious. I know you said you're aiming for 125 lbs as your goal and those 2" make a big difference in what a healthy weight would be. :D
newlook08~ Welcome back! I don't think I could do the press-ups either, lol. I'm sure you'll be great at them in no time. Don't wash away over there!
momof2~ Hope you're doing okay today... we're thinking of you! :D
I went out and bought a weight lifting set yesterday... looking forward to learning how to do some weight training. I've seen a lot of posts on here lately talking about so many people just doing cardio and being "skinny fat" (if that makes any sense) because they aren't building any muscle and toning up. I don't want to be one of those, so I'm going to try adding to my routine. Hopefully I don't hurt myself! :P
Morning girls!
I was doing my shopping online yesterday, and the grocery store he carrries weight watchers products. I was reading the calories in them and they seem really good! Bread is only 100cal for 2 slices... Cauliflower Cheese side dish (250g) is 113cal. Soup... whole can for 86cal! You can imagine I loaded up. lol.
Had a small drop today - down to 165.5. Feels good. Haven't seen these numbers since early last year when I had my amazing personal trainer and nutritionist. The small steady loss really is keeping me going and motivated. I'm especially happy cause of my binge on the weekend to be back down to a new low today. yay me.
~k9 - good jobb buying weights. Its really easy to sit and watch your favourite show and sit on the couch and do some exercise... hhmm actually thats a good idea. lol
~momof2 - hope you did ok yesterday. I know it would have been tough for you. xoxo
Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend. TOTM for me :( I worked all weekend but was off yesterday. Unfortunately had cramps all freakin day and couldn't really do much. I ate pretty well this weekend overall but I haven't been logging. Still having to "sneak" weigh ins when I can. Our "official" weigh in will be on the 5th with the hubby and I. I am thinking he will want to avoid it though because his weight training was derailed by his "trainer" (a neighbor) getting sick. Hopefully he can get back into it, he was doing soooo well! Well...gotta get ready for work. TTYL!
Niccimax~ I was getting hungry reading your post, lol. I love products that are easy and low cal.... soup is a good one. I got brave the other day at the grocery store and bought some hummus - yuck!! It was gross... so much for trying something new, lol. Congrats on the drop! A drop is still a drop. :D
Ladyelizabeth~ Totm sucks. I'm just getting over mine, thankfully. :P
Small drop for me today too... 138 today (was 138.5). That weight is just sticking to me like glue... so hard to lose the last couple. I really want to see a 2lb drop each week like I used to, but it just won't do it anymore. Frustrating.
I posted this on the fitness site - but you girls might enjoy the read
Lose the Last 10 Pounds! A few simple adjustments is all it takes to make that extra weight disappear.

Hi all - hope you're doing ok.
Got myself to the gym againthis morning - hurrah but upper body really achy so gave that a rest and went for cardio instead.
Am sure I go the most red in all of the gym. How come theres always a fabulous looking girl who runs for half a hour and never seems to sweat or go red. Grrr!
Am going for healthy ish prawn curry - leaving my fella in charge so not sure how calorific it might end up. Better go to the gym tmorrow too!
Have a good evening!
Hi Girls!
niccimax~ I actually saw your post in the fitness forum - good article. It definitely would apply to me, but I feel that I'm already doing most of those things and I've only lost 1/2 pound this week! I've become very frustrated, but my husband says he thinks I'm doing great and I should focus on how much weight I've already lost.
newlook~ Great job at the gym! I am probably one of those red faced girls too, lol! I was really proud of myself this morning though... I've been doing the Couch to 5K running program and for my last day of week 5 you have to run 20 minutes straight with no walking break. Well, I had been dreading it ever since I heard about it, but I did it w/out stopping! I'm so proud of myself. :D
Just a quick shout out to some of our "peeps"! :D
momof2~ Hope you're hanging in there! You've been missed! :)
ro50bin~ Haven't heard from you in awhile... hope Faye didn't wash you away and that you're doing well!
wendy~ Hope the hip and leg are feeling better!
Leo~ Where ya at girl!?
Hi! I'm here! :) I had a hectic couple of days and yesterday (funeral) was the worst. I'm worried about my gramma now. I don't want her to get lonely. So I have made myself promise to check on her and call her once a week, no matter what.
Ate everything in sight yesterday. But who the heck cares??? Right? I cut back today and tomorrow starting completely over and walking tomorrow too. I haven't weighed in for some time now. Waiting on the 10th to do that. Especially after the last couple days! I can't even imagine what the number would say! lol
I was wondering about ro50bin too! Where are ya????
k9 - sounds like you are doing good! Heck, .5 lost is .5 lost! Your hubby is right. And people here tell me the same thing....think of what you have already accomplished. :) It's more than ALOT of people can even imagine to do.
c ya'all tomorrow! :D
K9- Sorry about the confusing height thing. I thought I was 5'8" so that's what I put on my profile. Then I recently checked my height and I'm actually 5'6", but I am closer to 5'7". I forgot to change my height on my profile, but I fixed it now that you pointed it out. 125 is a bit on the smaller side of a healthy for my height, but I have a small frame so I figured it's okay. I could be wrong though.
In recent news I ate a brownie today and I didn't enjoy it, which is great! It means my body is no longer dependent on a daily processed sugar fix. This made me very happy, but a little sad because I really like brownies. I guess I'll just get a healthy brownie recipe from one of my cook books. I have sooo many cook books its insane.
Morning girls!
I'm happy to report that after 65 days on CC I have lost 20lbs!!!! I'm halfway to my goal. WooWoo.... SW (185) CW (165) GW (145).
K9 - you have done an AMAZING job so far!!! Seriously an inspiration.
Momof2 - Thats nice of you to keep up with your grandma. I have a great aunt over here that lost her husband of 63 years a few months ago. I should really make an effort to go over and spend some time with her on weekends.
I'm out schmoozing tonight and tomorrow (ugh). Tonight is some high end Indian restaurant which I'm sure will be fueled by booze. And tomorrow my sister and I are throwing my Dad a surprise 65th (insert more booze). So going to keep it really light during the day so I stay close to the cals/day.
On a happy note - my husband and son come home in 3 days!!!!! They stayed in Canada to enjoy the summer there with all our families and friends.. but I had to come back to work. So its been a LONG very lonely month alone - but I get my boys back in 3 days. YAY!!!!! :)
K9 - running without stopping?! I am impressed!
Had a 'weights' day in the gym again today - can't believe how hard resistance work is. At least its doing some good i suppose.
Have a good evening all.
Hey all! I started at 180 and I'm don to 173! That's a lot of progress for me since I've never really owned a scale. I think having the scale holds me accountable more. I weigh every morning before I eat anything, even though I shouldn't weigh everyday. I haven't been strict to me eat meter since I started CC July 21st. I am making much better choices and not craving the bad stuff so much anymore. I'm also not starving! I'm trying for 3 days in a row (mini goal) of not cheating and sticking to my 1450 cals. Also I need to walk my son in the stroller 3 days this week, even if it's too hot!
I didn't check my weight yet. It's probably around 160. I used to be a frequent 180's Club user, but I haven't been around and ACTUALLY on the wagon for two months, now, and I really need to focus again.
I'd like to start with:
- 1500 Calories per day
- 35 - 50 grams of fat per day
- Gym 3 days a week for 30 minutes or more.
Hi Leo! Nice to see you again! :) Glad you're back. :D
teacher - Hello! Good progress you're making. I have to be more strict with my calorie intake now. I've been ALOT over int he last few days. Scared to get on the scale when the 10th comes around.
nicci - You never know how much they mean to you til it's too late. Go spend some time with your great aunt, she'll love it! And so will you. :)
melody - Isn't it weird how after so long the things you use to eat just don't sit right with your body anymore? Fried foods make me sick. Like my stomach hurts and I just want to lay down and do nothing.
ro50bin - hope you are ok.
And k9 where are you today???? Hope you are ok. I'm so use to reading your posts everyday and when you aren't here I think something is wrong. Hope there's nothing wrong. Like flooded or something. No power there????
No walk today, but I was extremely busy though. Went shopping and ran alot of errands. I was in and out of the car so many times I couldn't begin to tell you how many! lol
Tomorrow, I promise, there WILL be walking in my schedule. I have nothing to do and I'll focus on walking and eating right. :)
Hi! I'm still here... I've been reading the posts, but I've been in a "funk" the last day or two. My husband says I have a bad attitude, lol. I've decided to re-evaluate my goals and focus more on my health than a number on the scale (I still want that 135 though). I've decided to up my calories again and start eating more... I'm more convinced that this is a good idea after reading another post on the forum about someone not eating enough and having vision problems even. I have also been having problems with my eyes lately and been getting headaches. They also mentioned having no energy to workout and their sleeping is also affected, as is mine more often than not. I'm also going to work more on my strength training, alternating days with running. Hopefully I can maintain, if nothing else. Been so frustrated lately with the darn scale.
momof2~ No power outage... just a bad attitude. :( I think I'm over it now though. Like you said, a 1/2 pound lost is still a loss and I've come so far. :D
melody_anne~ No problem. You're actually close to the same height as me... I'm just a hair under 5'7", but close enough. Good news on the brownie.
niccimax~ WAY TO GO on the 20 lbs lost!!! *happy dance* :D
newlook~ Yep, ran 20 minutes straight w/out stopping! Big accomplishent for me. Yeah, weights are pretty tough aren't they? I'm trying to get into them now & it's tough.
teachermarisa~ Welcome to the group! Congrats on the progress so far!
Leo~ Bout time you got your butt back here! LOL Get back on that wagon!!
Morning girls
I'm on day 2 of th longest hangover of my life. I put on 0.5lbs but I'm not really worried about it. I just want this damn nauseousness to go away! GGRR.
Hope you are all well - I'm so excited my boys come home tomorrow YAY!
Hi all,
Gave myself two days off the gym- my muscles were not going to let me do another session!
Think I'm starting to see a small difference physically but nothing much happening on the scales yet :-( Is this normal?
Hope you're all having a good friday. it's been raining in the the UK for five days now. Rubbish!!
Hi everyone!
Hope all is doing well with you all..
hey Leo! ( whips out superglue, duct tape, ropes, chains with locks.. that oughta hold you on!) just kidding! Seriously though, welcome back- sounds like a good plan starting up again.. I know I have fallen off many times and had to 'start over' again.
k9, sorry to hear about your 'funk'.. hope you are feeling happier soon... Just remember all you have accomplished so far! You are doing great, and it is harder to lose those last few lbs once you get closer to your ideal weight.
Niccimax, ugh, I hate hangovers! I rarely drink, but when I do, I usually end up drinking too much too fast and get sick and hungover.. yuk! hope you feel better soon.. and have a wonderful reunion with your family tomorrow!
newlook, I hear that is pretty common, to start seeing physical changes and not much change on the scale.. have you taken your measurements? I bet you have a change there.. maybe your clothes are fitting a little looser? Your muscles are probably getting stronger, and I'm sure soon you will see a drop in the scale.
I went to see a doctor yesterday, and go in today for some more tests.. I developed some other symptoms over this week and thought I better get in right away. I started having sensations like I wasnt getting enough air when I breathe- not so much that I felt faint or anything, but enough that caused me notice and made me feel anxious- and now was having pain in my right calf.. At the clinic, my blood pressure was fine, heartrate good, oxygen saturation at 99%..but the doctor wants to rule out a blood clot, even though I am not considered a 'likely candidate' for that-- no family history, no smoking, not on BC or other hormones... I dont know, but I really feel like something is very wrong.. and I am scared. So this afternoon I go for an ultrasound on my leg and a catscan.. I'll check back later and let you know how it goes. ... On a lighter note, I saw a new low on the scale this morning.. 160.8! which is kind of surprising because ttom started wednesday, so really didnt expect to see the scale move at all.
Well, have a great day everyone.. Happy Friday!
I'm getting rid of the extra pounds I gained after my grandpap's death. I've got one more pound to go to be at my lowest. I'm real happy with my progress.
I ate some "bad" turkey lunch meat yesterday and got very sick. My stomach was hurting, felt like I had to....well, ya know. I fell asleep at 9:30pm, woke at midnight to run to the bathroom again! Then went to sleep immediately when my head hit the pillow, up again at 5 with my stomach hurting. THAT was awful!
Feeling better now, but don't want to eat. I ate breakfast and it made me feel sick again. Now I don't want my stomach hurting like that again, so I don't want to eat to avoid that.
K9! I'm so glad you're back posting again! Missed ya girl! :) Sounds like you have a plan there so follow thru with it. Don't get discouraged with your weight. I know how it feels to want those pounds gone and they won't go anywhere. They will when they want to! :D
Wendy - hope nothing serious is wrong. Let us know how it goes. Congrats on the loss too! I'm jealous! lol
nicci - I don't like hangovers, so I really watch what I drink (when I do) and how much. Usually I'm the one who makes fun of everyone else when they have hangovers! But 2 days.....that is one big hangover! They say if you drink whatever you were drinking it will get rid of the hangover. I don't know about that though.....never tried it.
