HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!

Hye-move over, I went over by almost 300 cals yesterday too. I went out to dinner with a couple friends. I guzzled my 2 liters when I got home and need to go the bathroom all night long. I'd normally feel pretty tired this AM from so many trips but I know I did the right thing so I'm shrugging off the tiredness. So, shrug off that blah feeling and get back up here. I'll give you a boost!

Dream-you're doing so great so far...just remember that when you go to the party. Tortilla chips are around 140 for 7 chips (if memory serves me correctly)...count them out and account for them ahead of time. Don't deprive yourself if you really want it or you won't stop eating other things. Most importantly, have fun!

hey everyone. im new to this site as well. i am 30yrs old, soon to be 31 in november. i weigh 225lbs and am 5'6. i REALLY need to lose this weight. i have a 3 yr old son and it is had to play with him. i want to be at 170 by my birthday. i think its do able. i eat 1400-1600 cal a day. and i do my 2 and 3 mile Walk Away the Pounds DVD everyday. but again, this is just my first week. iwant to be out of this club in about 2months. i need help staying motivated. any advice?

Just updating for yesterday. I've talked to 2 or 3 people that I know and I think that they are going to join the C-C accounts. One will maybe join our motivation group. We've been "motivating" each other for years......
Anyway, I stayed well within my calories yesterday! I had a nice healthy filling meal for dinner and was very pleased with myself. Pork Tenderloin, broccoli, sauteed mushrooms, Salad with Ranch Dressing, and a cup of milk. For dessert, strawberries (no sugar). Only 1650 calories for the day. YEAH!!!! I recalculated my needed calories, and got a goal date of 14 Aug 08 if I stay at 1550 calories, and 14 Oct 2008 if I go with 1650. So that is my goal now. Me and my cousin need to lose about the same and want to work with each other on it, so maybe I will get tons of support and encouragement from many directions (translate that as Accountability in all directions! HA!)

vk- it was an anthro test. i was on my way to the test early to study and then a kid who was checking out the school asked me where he was and i was talkin to him for a long time so I didn't get to study. stupid of me but i end up finding anything to keep me from studying. o well, it's my last quarter.
HI all! I woke up late today and it is 1130 now. I am drinkin orange juice this morning(110 calories)

Also I am gonna eat a salad with lots of veggies before I go tonight.
Its still gonna be hard though cuz we just sit around and play poker or euchre! Eating is part of the fun......THen I thought I Will BRING a veggie TRAY and I can munch on that!!! I can eat my 14 chips after i eat my veggies!! I love you guys for encouraging me to make better choices.
I have to tell u all this..My hubby and my 2 kids were eating cookies and I had to have one of each( peanut butter & Choc chip) and guess what. It didnt even taste good to me, they were also the generic kind. I think my tastebuds just love healthy food. I have always loved tomatoes. I seriously eat a whole tomato a day. Iam just craving green pepprs, cucumbers, cauliflower, etc.
I have lost 17 lbs since Feb 24 and I know I am doing something right!!!

Okay... It has taken me a lot of time to post on this board because I am young and don't understand how I gained so much weight and am over 200 pounds now. When I was in high school, I weighed around 130-140 and thought i was heavy compared to all of my friends. After high school, I quit exercising and fell in love with CHEAP fast food. Never thought I would have to change my eating habits. Anyway, I am at 211 and 5'6" and really need someone to be there for me every step of the way. my goal is to be 138 by September 20, 2008. I have a long way to go. I eat okay but could make better decisions and I rarely exercise simply because i am so tired after work each day... Anyone who can offer me support, it would be greatly appreciated. I am not happy with my body or my inner self and just want to be healthy again.

hope all are having a good day. for me so far so good. my boss brought in doughnuts this morning. so far i have been able to pass them up, but hte day isn't over yet. i am hoping i can ignore them for the rest of the day. especially since tonight is pizza night in my house anyway. And i know i will wind up going over to begin with. i don't want to blow it completely.

HI to every one and welcome to cbmob. Just checking in and trying not to continue kicking my self in the pants for yesteday!!! I did not get on the scale this morning yeah !! and am gonna try once again to stay off till wednesday. how ever I was not hungry at breakfast so only did my coffee. When I got home from school, was hungry I had a nice salad with grilled chicken breast and one hard boiled egg - no cheese- and commercial italian dressing. It is almost dinner and I am not hungry, So my qeustion is I know I have to eat a certain amount of calories, Should I eat them any way even though I am truly not hungry? normally I would let them go cause I would have normally had a peice of fruit or a ww muffin for breakfast or a low cal cerial and yogurt, but I just am not hungry. Didn't drink to much water either today and I am trying to force that down cause I am still feeling full from yesterday and I don't want to do any more damage. I have not worked out yet cause I am not feeling well probably a crash from last nights sugar rush, ooops I forgot to tell about that last night! My boyfriend heard a noise in the kitchen late last night and asked what I was doing I said oh nothing I'll be to bed shortly. Little did I know he was coming to check to see if I was in the choclate my daughter hid and I was. I swept it real quick into the silverware drawer wear he found it moments after he pried me away from the drawer. OOOOPS!!! Busted . So I hung my tail between my legs and went off to bed about 7 or 8 milkyway minis later At 10:00 pm. Does anyone have any goood stories about getting busted while bing eating???

Speaking of clothes blue, where does everyone buy their clothes? I shop online. I buy my tops from "Layne Bryant" and everything else from "Just My Size". Although I may not be able to buy anything from Lane Bryant's anymore because I sent them a nasty email about they're using SKINNY models on their site and in their catalogs. How on earth am I supposed to tell how something is going to look when the model wearing it is about a size ONE! That really pisses me off!!!! Just My Size models aren't skinny but at least they are more normal. A few of them are actually a little hefty in places. I don't want to be fat but I sure as hell don't want to be a size ONE!
Anybody heard from Rockinmama lately? Hope everything's ok!

yeah, mabear, I got busted once. Didn't have any candy in the house and we were going on a trip somewhere so I grabbed a handful of Nestle's semi sweet chocolate chips and put them in my coat pocket. When I went to get out of the car a few of them had fallen out of my pocket and were on the seat. Of course my husband saw them before I did ... BUSTED!!!
Mabear-I got busted with doritos in my mouth. I felt so bad I went to the computer and logged them. Lol Hubby doesn't really say anything and might not care...he thinks I don't eat enough as it is. But I know. I get this look like the deer with the headlights. D'oh!!! Lol
No Ell, I haven't heard from her nor have I seen her journal anything...I hope she's alright and just her normal busy self. BTW, I normally shop at a place called The Avenue. They're prices are a little lower than Lane's. Avenue has bigger models normally but skinny ones in their mailers. Buggers!
On that note...there was a town near me that started a commotion a few months back when Lane wanted to setup shop in their downtown area. The town cited they weren't looking for "the type" of clientele Lane would attract. The nerve!!! They ended up giving in to public pressure.
Sleep-just keep the pizza in mind and ask yourself which you want more. My answer for me would be pizza hands down! :)

Hi everyone. I'm here. Just kinda lurking...lol. Been busy reading all your posts and I'm still not caught up and I want too because I need the boosts you give me. Kinda nice to know I was missed...I"m flattered..:) I lost 1 lb...now at 215 but man it took so long to lose it. I'm frustrated, sad, upset all at once. Not sure how to go about this anymore. Takes so long to lose 1 dumb pound. At this rate I won't be under 200 by June....heck I won't be under 200 by December at this rate. Sorry I know it's not a very motivating post which is why I've been only lurking I guess. :(

So far so good today! I didn't feel like eating everything today. I had a great dinner with my husband and we are off to the accountant's to pick up the tax papers. (Canada's tax due date is May 1st.)

Now, as for shopping...ah-ha...that is a topic I enjoy as much as I like cooking! Well, I have a few problems when it comes to shopping. I'm Asian, which means I don't really have any curves, I'm short, my inseam is 27" and I carry most of my weight in my middle. So, I got a few things against me.
I've found that Old Navy jeans are the best for me. The last time I shopped there I was a size 22, I definitely know that I'm in-between 20 and 22 right now. Just about everything I buy I have to get altered. I could get away with wearing men's jeans.
I've been able to find some decent things at JC Penney's and Sears. My newest find in Montreal has been Addition Elle which I think is the Canadian equalivant of Lane Bryant.
As a general rule, I usually buy items to fit me in the biggest part of my body and then get it altered to fit everything else. You'd be amazed how much a difference the right cut and fit of clothes will look.
Anyways, that's my two or three cents on fashion. I have lots more tips, if you guys are interested. hehehehe!

another good day for calories. i had 1575. not bad. i think it's TTOM and the weight is hanging in there. i feel heavy. The clothes fit tighter and my back has been aching. I took my son to the doctor today and I weighed myself on the doctor scales, ...... 241.5 lbs. i just can't seem to lose anything. I asked him (even though he is a pediatrician) what I should do since i was having so much trouble losing, and was surprised when he recommended the Atkins Diet. Even though he said not to eat as much protein and fat that Dr. Atkins advocates. i may try to see what it does. A couple of years ago I tried it but only did the part three, eating only about 45-50 carbs a day. i lost weight but nearly as fast as everyone else following the diet. I only lost about .5 to .75 lbs a week. But that was ok. The only thing i didn't really like about the diet was after a while i would get constipated or I would hurt really low in my stomach, so i'm not sure i want to do that diet again.
Anyone got any recommendations? Anyone ever follow the Atkins Diet as he prescribed?

aaahh blj55 ... Atkins Diet ... now there's something I know very well. In January of 2000 I went on the Atkins Diet and lost 100 lbs. in about a year. It took a little getting used to ... no, ALOT getting used to. But once I got going it was great! I felt better than I ever did in my life. I could actually feel my muscles toning up all by themselves. I walked alot (because I don't drive) but never really exercised and still toned up very nicely. I had so much energy I couldn't keep still. It was almost like I was on speed or something. I went from a size 22 to a size 8! Then I got bunions and had to have sugery on both feet. That, plus a couple of other skeletal problems, put me right out of commission. I couldn't walk for 3 months after my surgery & then my back got really bad. Evidently the lack of activity and continuing to eat high fat foods turned the Atkins Diet against me. I gained back ALL the weight and got high cholesterol to boot. I had gotten into such a habbit of eating fat that I couldn't go back. I would try it again, but looking back on it, it was a hard way to go. All you can eat is meat, fish, cheese, eggs and some veggies. You can even eat bacon. But basically, NO CARBS AT ALL. No bread, no cereal, no cake, no sugar, no caffeine ... aaahhh! I used to eat a lot of cheese (I'd kill for some cheese right now!). After you lose the weight you're supposed to go back to eating a well balanced diet ... but I didn't.
Anyway, It's a real commitment and it's NOT easy!

Atkins is ok but very hard to stick with for a long period of time and when you quit and go back to eating normally...even good carbs you gain. I heard the South Beach diet is better. But I'll just stick to c-c diet. I'm finding it slow losing..really slow but I can eat healthy and I can live with this way of eating. Atkins, I lost lots 50 lbs but gained it back and more. Just my opinion though. If you decide that route I hope it goes well for you.
I never tried any kind of diet like that. In my early twenties I had a starvation period. Didn't lose much either. I was pissed! When I look back I think of how stupid that was. In my mid-teens my mom enrolled me in Richard Simmons workout place. I'd go for 3 hours of aerobics, alternating between high, mid and light severak times a week. I also restricted my diet quite a bit. Didn't lose much at all. My sister on the other hand, who is 5'2" went down to 105. Happy for her but :{ Now that I'm learning so much...HELLOO!!! Anyone see a pattern?? Lol ;)
