Started at: 143# on December 28, 2007 Last week: 134.4# This week: 135.6# It is “that time” again so hello water weight, it always starts on the Wednesday before and resolves by Friday of the next week (sometimes earlier) and peaks over the weekend. (I am a Sunday starter with my BC). So I am with you burnyh Goal weight: 130# by April 1 Smiles – congrats on the new low! Simi – yay! for the 127s you are rocking this weight loss thing. Mango – Silly salt and carbs will do that, no worries. No real update, my dog has been sick the last three days. He got into the trash and has the runs, which means last night he woke us up every 2.5 hours during the night to go out. Then (because he is long haired) we have to bath him each time before he can come to bed. Kinda makes motherhood not look all that good, sorry gretamarie… Other than that, my workouts continues as scheduled. I am sooooo sore from legs on Monday that I could hardly swing my leg to get on my bike this morning. I have been stretching and drinking water and did some light cardio after I lifted legs but still so painful…I have been making a real effort to push myself on leg days by mixing up my workout every week and pushing my strength limits, so I guess that is just how it goes. But I will be glad when I feel better. Any trade secrets out there??? |

Ok, after about a week and a half of being way off track (give or take a few days in the middle) along with it being ttom, my weight has sky-rocketed. Last week was my spring break and sadly, I gave myself a break after 5 weeks of being awesome with eating and working out. So I didn't even weigh myself last week, but my weight two weeks ago was 133. My weight today is 139.5. It's almost funny. But not. I'm calling half of it water weight. And I'm not worrying too much about it because I'm back on track and I have too many other things to spend my time worrying about (schoolwork!!!) |

| leelee -- glad you are checking in, even if the news is not the best. Everyone gets off track at one time or another, the real strength comes in climbing back on each and everytime your fall of that diet train. I would agree that a lot of that is water since it was only two weeks. Thanks for the update. And be sure to check in next week :) Best of luck with school. What are you studying?? | ||

Hi guys, So I've been MIA this week because unfortunately, my weight news isn't the greatest either! (somewhere between 133.something and 134.something!!!) This weekend was a bust and then on Monday I also started TTOM. (What gives??? We're all on the same cycle?? lol!). So my weight is not where I want it to be at this point. Bleh! However, I skimmed through the last couple of posts and realized that we're all appearing to be in the same boat -- TTOM and weight increase wise. Well, thanks to your encourgement, I feel a smidge better about my bloated self and will continue to work through it. Here's to hoping that we see something nice next wednesday.

Ladies, I am proud to announce a new low for me!!!!! This week: 126.7!!! Last week: 127 I am so excited I don't know the last time I weighed less than 127. This is a great feeling. I feel that I could not have done it without the inspiration and help of all of you. My goal is sooo close (125). I got off the scale today and had the biggest grin on my face. All I could think about was racing home from the gym so I could post my success. Whoo hoo!!! |

| It's good to know there are more of us out there. Most of my friends weigh much more than me and think i'm crazy for wanting to lose. I'm 138.2 at 5foot 4, it's driving me crazy want to be 120. Been working out every day and watching calories, not having much luck. I'm just trying to be patient. | ||

Collins - Way to go!!! I'm smiling right along with you! Are you going to keep 125 your goal, I mean, would you say you are pretty satisfied yet, or are you going to notch it down a little? I'm so excited for you :) Just a bit over a pound left! Brianne - It's no big deal, TOM makes everyone have a hard time (we're all girls, we understand :) i'm sure we will be hearing great news from you soon, just keep up the good work. Danielle - I would wait until you are all better, those meds they give you sometimes make you super dizzy so be careful. Besides, it's not like you'll be chowing down on junk food either so I wouldn't worry too much :) Jen - I asked my husband what he thought of your new picture and he was like... that is very hot. :) I guess I have a new goal to work for! J/K. Just thought you'd like to know, you are amazing! |

brianneo -- funny huh? I noticed that last time around. Well next week then we can all kick a$$ together.
Collins -- yay!! you are soo close, how exciting. Thanks for letting us share in your success. No excuses for you this week. dmartineau -- ugh wisdom teeth. They put me on Percocet, I really hated it made me so lazy, felt like I was walking through spider webs all day. I would guess that as soon as you can just use some aspirin (2 days or so) you'd be fine to workout. Maybe no fast running/heaving breathing so you do not jar your newly formed scabs loose because you do not want to get dry socket. mlissarn -- welcome! and be sure to weigh in with us every Wednesday. What is your macro ratio like?? ie what percentage of your daily calories are from fats, carbs and protein because this can make a big difference. Also the timing of meals. simi -- Thanks for sharing. You made my day |

Hello Everyone, I am new to this website. I want to get down to 120-125 range. I started a new job and all I do is sit on my butt at a computer all day. I have been working out on my treadmill for 30-45 min a day in the morning. I am only losing inches and not any lbs. I need some ideas and help to lose more weight. Also I do alot of out of town travel and I do not have access to any exercise equipment and recommendations on what to do those weeks? I also eat out everyday for lunch and dinner when I am on the road I try to stick to salads but those get old after a while. PLEASE help, opinions greatly appreciated. I weigh 136 right now. |

I'm new to this site. I've been looking for a diet forum for support but often when you're not really overweight, no one will support you. I'm 5'3" and this morning I was 129.6 Down from 132.4. I look forward to being able to update you all on my progress, I find that really motivating, to be 'held accountable'. In my mind, my ideal weight is 110. But I haven't weighed that in 7 years. Last summer I got close, at 115, and then over the winter just gained it all back. I think I got frustrated at not being able to lose those last 5 lbs and just gave up. Of course right now I would love to be 115, but at the time I wasn't feeling that way. I want to be at least 115 by summer time again, so that my clothes will fit! Right now they're pretty tight. I look forward to support and enthusiasm from all of you, and will give the same! |

Welcome, Amy and Kathleen! Everyone's really, really supportive here and you guys will fit right in! Congratulations on everyone's weight-loss/maintenance this week! And Jen, to answer your question, I'm a psychology major/sociology minor and the work is really piling up this semester. I cannot wait for summer!!! But of course, that is no excuse for my week of indulgence last week... |

| jredig thanks for the welcome. On my percentages for this last wk have been about 60%carbs 22%protein, 18%fat . But I haven't been quite as careful about monitoring my intake until recently, so i'm really trying to buckle down and be strict with that. I have also been doing slim in 6 video for about a week and a half now, so i think i may be gaining muscle, those lunges kill me. | ||

Hi Everyone! :D First I want to say, welcome Mlissarn, kathleen_i, and amyleewalker! Soo glad to have you join us here! Yes, I agree with leelee19, as well as everyone else that may have commented...this group is VERY supportive and think you will find your niche here! :D Also, side note to Mlissarn, may I say that I when I saw your pic. I thought you looked like Laura Linney (actress) as a brunette. :D So...hope you take that as a compliment! :D Also, Amyleewalker, in my opinion....if you can do some floor exercises during your weeks that you travel, that should help. You don't need any props for wall squats, wall pushups (including fingertip pushups on the wall, palms flat on the wall, and triangle pushups on the wall), crunches (including double crunches, criss cross crunches, crunches where you lie down on floor with legs up and reach hands toward your toes), lunges, jumping jacks, pushups on the floor, etc. :D These are all things you can do in a hotel room, etc. without the use of any additional props. :D As for food on the go...hmm...other than salad...maybe turkey or ham/cheese wraps, soup, edamamme beans ;), english muffin w/ peanut butter, fruits (bananas, apple, pears), etc. :D Hope my suggestions were at least a bit helpful! ;D To everyone...Keep up the good work! :D have a wonderful rest of your Thursday! Take care and ttyl. :D -Margo |

welcome! amylee. I would recomend running outdoors. pushups, crunches, lunges (maybe hold your luggage while you do it) while you are traveling. But the biggest factor will be your diet.
Salads are often not your best choice when you go out to eat. Many salads you order can be as much as 1300 calories. And they often have little protein, leaving you hungry. They key is being creative with your orderign and not eating everything on your plate. I would order something with chicken with a light sauce (no cream), order an extra side of veggies and do not eat the carb (bread, potato etc) that comes with it. Turkey sandwiches on wheat are always good, ask them to hold the mayo, and ask if they can not bring out the chips/fries that come with it. (maybe ask for a pickle instead) If you are being strict, eat the sandwich open face and discard on the pieces of bread (that can save you 100 calories easy). Chicken tostadas are sometimes alright if you hold tha gaucamole and sour cream and do not eat the shell. Fajitas are always good. Just eat the chicken and veggies and forgo the tortilla and sour cream again. (many will add extra veggies if you ask too). hope that helps :) Smile has some good suggestions, especially edamame and PB. I do not eat bananas though except immediately before a workout. berries and citrus are your best fruit choices. My favorite places to eat out when dieting (if you have any control over the palce) is vietnamese, thai and japanese. I can always find something delicious, high protein, low cal. there. Welcome kathleen. Here is wishing you the best. mlissam -- If I was you I would try 40/40/20, protein, carbs, fat. And spread it out over 5-6 meals a day. I was very happy with the difference the extra protein has made for me. And if you are losing inches but not #s there is no doubt you are gaining some fat-burning beautiful muscles, so good job. |

Hello, I'm new here too. I'm 24, 5'2", and I'm down to 126 lbs from 129 lbs a few weeks ago. I'm just looking for some support and advice because this is my first time dieting, and maybe to share some of the things that work for me in the process. During college, I averaged 120 lbs without any effort, but a bout with drugs dropped me down to 105 lbs. I'm a year sober, and my weight has skyrocketed as a result. My goal is to get around 115 and to keep it that way, in a healthy way. I think I'm on the road to success already, but as others have mentioned, it's hard finding support for such a small goal. I'm also quite disillusioned by what I assume to be myths and fairytales, so I'm truth-seeking as well. One thing that I've been told that I'm hoping is false is that the amount of change I want in my weight is more difficult to attain than someone wishing to lose more. Sort of a comparison with the "last leg" of heavier dieters. I think I may also need help with not going right back to eating and drinking whatever I please when I've reached goal. |

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Over the summer I switched from birth control pills to an IUD and there have been some hormonal transitions that have unfortunately taken place as a result. I obviously gained weight, and my usually clear skin has been plagued with acne since. Needless to say, I was feeling pretty low and not at all like myself. For two weeks now I've been taking prescriptions for acne and my skin is clearing up again. I just need to lose the weight so I can feel back to 'normal'. Every other day I'm on the elliptical for 45 minutes. I have bad supination so I can't do high impact exercises or I get stress fractures. But I set the elliptical to randomly vary the intensity throughout the workout, so I feel that keeps me from getting 'comfortable'. On non-elliptical days I lift weights for 45 minutes. |

Sauciedj- Welcome! :D Hope we can help you stick to your goals to achieve your healthy weight the right way....:D (with positive support, healthy eating habits and exercise). :D Anyway....I find it is hard for others (like those that aren't 'dieting' or those that have much more to lose than just those last 10-20 lbs.) to realize that for those of us that 'only' have a small amount of weight to lose that it's just as tough, even though there is some truth to the statement you made - "the amount of change I want in my weight is more difficult to attain than someone wishing to lose more." However, please don't let that get you down. We all have our days when we are down, but there is a lot of support and positive attitude here! So.....we wish you the best! Congrats on your 1 year sober too! :D That's a huge accomplishment already...you're well on your way..keep it up! Kathleen - Hope the new b.c. starts to work itself in your favor as the time goes on. Keep up the exercise routine too...sounds like you're doing well! :D It amazes me sometimes how many different exercises there are and that there really is something for everyone....glad you have found what works for you....:D I'm still working on finding the things that 'work for me'. :D Pilates I've found is good..though I'm only doing that once a week right now. Though I also like weight lifting (the results are VERY motivating!), cardio kickboxing, biking (not spin class though...too much for me) on a trail or around the neighboorhood, walking, and even the treadmills w/ the t.v.s on them...hehe...it keeps me going. :D Ttyl. :D -Margo

hi everybody. i'm really enjoying reading everyone's updates, and great to see so many new people! you guys keep my energy up for this weight-loss haul, and keep me on track! 125.0 today. of course i counted my chickens too soon and have been up in the 126-s this week, but i (hopefully) think i'm moving around a mean of 125, which i am v. happy with. i know there will be fluctuations and those teaser lows will just keep me pushing forward! i'm glad we can all post when we're not having the best progress and not feel like losers :) this weekend will have challenges. Saturday Nick's brother is having a birthday barbecue. going out to dinner (Leona's, italian) and a play Saturday night (i'll be w/ my cousin who doesn't drink, so i can save cals there). then Sun. my mom is coming over for us to make corned beef & cabbage- TONS of it. Next friday my mom is doing our Easter dinner (ham), Sunday we have the married-marathon of Easter buffet brunch (lord save me from the sweets table) w/ N's dad's family, then we go to his grandparents for his mom's family dinner. whew! plus it's gorgeous here so we've been having beers w/ friends in the yard. PLAN: make it to the gym as many mornings as i can. bbq-open faced burger? bring veggie tray to munch on. leona's-shrimp skewers. dinners-single plates of small portions, plus salad to fill me up. this has been a tough week, a late friend's bday and a beloved coworker's passing from cancer. so i really feel blessed for having a body to run in, any body. |
