breakfast: chocolate oatmeal, orange, coffee
chocolate oatmeal....? whats that?
i read you could mix cocoa powder with sweetener into your oatmeal. unfortunately it did NOT work and was too bitter, i ate half the bowl before getting a stomach-ache, lol.
oh, lol. maybe try putting 60% cacao chocolate melted instead? it actually sounds yummy (what you ate) if you just maybe used hot chocolate powder...??

that's really unnecessary to exercise before eating. it raises your metabolism in general, not just for a little while. also, if you're exercising on top of eating less than 1800, you're really hurting your body :(

Lunch: wholewheat toast with cottage cheese and sliced tomato.
an apple, an orange and a pear.
Snack: 4 weetabix with custard and sliced banana, melted in the micro and topped with cinnamon.
Dinner: BLT (made with wholewheat bread, veggie bacon, sliced tomatoes and lettuce), half a baked potato filled with low fat laughing cow cheese spread and some baby corn on the side.
Snack: weetos cereal (dry) (:
Before bed: 2 instant hot chocolates...
good day (((:
Breakfast: 1/4 cup granola with soft prunes on top ( trying to get rid of this constipation!)
Snack: Ensure plus
Lunch: aubergine, tomato and onion stew, 70cal activia yoghurt

hm? i thought that exercise raised your heart rate.. and while you're eating with an elevated heart rate, the food you put in your body is metabolized faster? that's why i make sure to make my heart beat faster right before a meal anyway.
but 1800 would make me gain like crazy.
plus my doctor knows how little i eat and how much i exercise and she said she's perfectly fine with it.. (the exercise part)
and my nutritionist says for me to work up to 1200 calories.

i suppose in theory it would work, but isn't kind of ridiculous to make yourself work out before every normal-sized meal? to me that sounds like anorexia athletica.
of course 1800 would make you gain, it's because your metabolism has slowed down so much. i'm underweight but i maintain on 1800 because my metabolism is normal. 1800 is the minimum for a sedentary (not moving around at ALL) teenager. 1200 is the minimum for a sedentary female adult.

Dinner: Baked sweet potato with raisins
I will probably have a bowl of cereal or fruit salad a bit later. Possibly some soy ice cream :)

eh it's part of my daily routine now, been doing it for almost a year. it's only quick like 6 minute thing though. doesn't cut into my time and i probably burn a few more calories doing it.
it's not like i work out for like hours a day, though.

well, if that's really what you want to do. ha sorry, i didn't mean to sound like i was jumping on you or anything.
If you're underweight, shouldn't you be trying to gain a little? I mean, sure, it's good to be a fit if you're a dancer, but being underweight is never a good thing.

hm well.. what i REALLY want to do is to start increasing my calories without gaining any weight back that i lost through starvation (i already gained 10 out of the 30)... but what i don't understand is HOW to do that, so i jump at any chance to up my metabolism... if i could maintain my current weight i might not need to do the workouts. plus i'm at a healthy weight anyway.. just not healthy.
garnet18 you should really eat more. your metabolism is dead, and that's why 1800 makes you gain. if you eat more calories consistently then your metabolism will speed up.
i know that, but i don't want to gain weight as it speeds up.
can i prevent this with exercise?

it can help, i think. i don't know though, i gradually increased mine i guess from like 300 to 1200 and gained a couple pounds, maintained a little there for awhile, then upped it a little more to about 1400-1500 and gained a couple more pounds, then maintained, and now am eating between 1800 and 2200. i think part of the reason i didn't gain much (up from 104) is that i was exercising and i had days where i'd eat alot (but not binging) so that probably shocked my metabolism and sped it up. i'm not an expert though, so i don't know exactly what i did to repair my metabolism.
edit: i forgot to say that pre-ed i was naturally underweight, despite eating crap all the time. it's in my genes--my 5'10 cousin has had two kids and is naturally 125. so that could have something to do with it.
b- fruit smooothie
snack- carrots
lunch- special k bar, an apple, and an orange
some popcorn

chicken caesar salad with almonds, wontons, and carrots
