#885 entersandlady Apr 08 2008 13:31
Rachael, you sound very organised!!! Safe trip to Florida!!

Sarah, didnt realise you werent sleeping great!! Glad youslept well though!!

Jayne, trying hard to get back onto the bandwagon!  Enjoy the cleaning!!  Like you I will go into a big mad cleaning frenzy from time-to-time and will cull loads of clothes etc!!

Bee, goo luck in your finals!!  Bet you cant wait for them to be over!

I love beans - just got into them recently!  I love them in stews, caseroles etc with loads of veg and potatoes!!

So I decided I wanted to challange myself, and have decided to do the mini marathon on the June Bankholiday (2nd June and yes, I know I'm crazy!).  so I had my first training session last night and hurt my knee!!  Not a great start to my training - so going to the chiropractor this afternoon, and skipping the gym this evening.

Hi All -- Thanks for all your suggestions about the beans. I am going to mix some in with my salad today and hope to get them down. I actually tried the SBD about 3 years ago and swore I would never do it again cause about 4 days into it, i became severely constipated....had to go to the doctor and evrything! I think I even took off from work. It was awful and I never knew how much pain constipation can cause. It's kind of funny to think about it now but believe me, it wasn't funny back then.

Anyway, I feel great. I survived my first day of the diet, stayed around 1200 calories, and feel like I am breaking my carb addiction. Although, I have to say, it was kind of odd, when my boss walked into my office to see me eating slabs of luncheon meat and celery for breakfast this morning.

Bee - I also work out in the morning and know that when I don't do it first thing, I will push it off. This way, I don't even think about it. I go to the gym when I am half unconscious and don't fully wake up until I am already on the treadmill. I 'm doing the 'couch to 5K' program now and plan on running my first 5K race on 5/11. Pretty cool for me cause I couldn't run more than 3 minutes straight two months ago. have a great day. ~ Sue

Gina how far is your marathon going to be?  As for the sleeping thing Ive been up till 1 AM and getting up at 6 or 7 AM.  I dont do well on only 6 hours I know some people can.... but not me.

Bee I cant believe time has gone by so fast and the school year is almost over.

Sue thats the problem I had with the first phase(at least its only 2 weeks.).  Phase 2 is much better... a little less strict and more flexible with food choices
#889 sun123 Apr 08 2008 15:37
I had to check to see what a serving of cantaloupe is - I really try to take advantage of produce sales and venture outside my window of staple foods I always buy.

There was a period when I was falling asleep at 930 and getting up 430-5ish - it was my favorite schedule, getting a jump on the day but Ive had a problem wanting to stay up late as possible.

Sue, good job on day one!  I experienced the bad constipation too, especially only going to the bathroom every 2-3 days but powdered fiber supplement helped although I only use it occasionally now.  Bee - Ive horrible procastination issues and its such a relief to not to have something hanging over your head as I usually do.  Rachael, hoping we'll still hear from you occasionally during your trip to hear what fun your up to!

Gina, that inspiring about your marathon - hope the knee doesnt become an issue and good that youve time to prep.

Hi - I think the 5K is 3.2 miles and think the mini-marathon is probably a lot more! Congrats to Entersandlady for committing to that! I still walk and run the 5K. I haven't been able to run the total length without stopping but hoping to run the whole race and not walk in between. Anyway, that's my goal so I will keep trying and if I can't do it in May, I will do another one a few months later. i may not be making too much progress with this weight loss but definitely hoping to feel good about the exercise.

What part of Florida are you going to that has the good-looking greek waiters?

Okay...it's 3:51 and am still holding strong on this diet but had two servings of nuts. I still crave things especially when they put out left over trays of cookies in the pantry and I have to walk right past them to get my coffee! That stinks.

Okay...not going directly home after work so need to figure out what i can grab on the run..maybe in a 7-11? something quick as i have to visit a friend in hospital and no time to swing by home. any ideas?

If you don't mind me asking, where do you guys live? I'm in New Jersey.

Im in Texas.  Hungry girl is going on tour.  woohoo.  Im going to the one in Dallas.  Who doesn't like free stuff.  Yum Greek food... I miss it so much.  The restaurants around here suck.  I do kind of like the buffalo wings one. You can get "naked" chicken with the same sauce as the fried stuff.  all the taste and lower in fat.

Safe trip Rachel!!!!  Wonder what cheese you have??  I normally dont eat cheese because I'm allergic to cheddar cheese (gives me really bad migranes), but mozerella etc is ok!

Sarah, I've heard you talking about hungygirl.  Is it any good??

Sjklov, well done on staying strong!!  You can do it!!

the Marathon is a half marathon - 10K, so about 6 miles!!  I actually think that I am crazy!!!!  Knee is alot better today.  Went to the Chiropractor and see said my pelvis was a little out of line and not distributing weight properly on my right side.  When she corrected it (in other words, manipulated it back into place) I felt relief instantly!  Rested my leg last night, so might try some jogging / power walking tonight!
#898 sun123 Apr 09 2008 15:05
A little late Rachael but be careful on these rainy roads.  Spent last night online defensive driving and I copied pasted almost every page because Im horrible at things like this due to my short term memory.  Still have to finish squeezing rest of the course in today.

If anyone hears about a shortage on SB dinners, I apologize.  2 for 1 sale plus double coupons?  With what I had before, totals at 25.  Funny breakfast - spaghetti squash w parmesean and cottage cheese with equal & pumpkin pie spice, what a combo!

I saw the Dallas stop listed for HG Sarah too! If you have a minute while your here maybe we could do lunch or just meet.  Sue, for months I counted out my mid morn nut snack and one day *poof* they along with PB became control portion issues and theyre really the only diet food to have this problem for me so I understand the draw to them.

Hope that knee is kind to you Gina, specially if you go forward with your trial jog tonight.  Bee, do you do anything while on the stationary bike?  I used to read to distract myself.

Lucky Rachel going to Florida! Hope she has a great time.

I'm having a crazy day today. Busy at work and wish I could eat anything and everything but so far hanging in there. My hand keeps grabbing the nut jar out of my desk drawer. I wish I had some celery around here to munch on. I weighed myself today and am down 1 pound. LOL - not quite sure what that means cause my weight always fluctuates but hopefully it means that the diet is working. When you guys did Phase 1 did you count your calories? I am counting mine and am reaching my deficit limit but am eating more snacks than I think I am supposed to. I am worried about that. Embarassed

#900 sjklov Apr 09 2008 19:06

Sun - I don't mind if you buy all the SB dinners now cause think the stores will have enough time to restock them before I finish up with Phase I.   :)

hey -- I found a cheese cake recipe I can eat while on Phase I. Think I'm going to try it but am afraid that I am eating too much. Maybe over the weekend. I'll try it. I'm reallly not hungry, I just have a terrible habit of eating and feel anxious cause I'm not eating! LOL.
