I'm looking for a 130/120 club, but I don't see any topics started.

If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?

Thank you :)

Just a quick hello this morning to you all...:D

First off...welcome Mango1968...it's great to have you join the group! :D We all do our best to encourage one another...I think you'll do just fine. :D I think no matter what age you are....getting healthy is always a great idea. :D So, congrats on continuing your journey to stay healthy. :D

Gretamarie - WOW! Congrats on the baby news! :D Why couldn't you stay on the forum? We'd love to have you here! :D It's probably 10x more important that you do stay on here to keep up your progress for staying healthy, esp. b/c your expecting, right? *hugs* (If I may...;D) Wonderful too that you enjoyed your Vegas trip and that you watched your eating/drinking habits! Way to go!!

I wonder too....is this your first? Would love to find out how you are doing as time goes on...;)

OrnellaNicole - Wonderful to hear that you are working toward the A.F. career. I'm an A.F. brat myself...Dad was in for 20 years and have a lot of family members that were in the A.F./other branches of the military. :D Good luck! Also, good luck with the modeling...good to know you feel good about yourself inside and out. :D

Jen - All I can say is...WOW! Very strong, healthy and sexy pic. again of your biceps/back. Nice! :D Keep up your great work!

Jennifer - Hope you had a good 'work' weekend, but still found time to have some relaxation time. :D Ttyl, chica!

Have a lovely Monday ladies!

By the way, thanks to everyone that gave their advice/experiences/info. about the health care field, etc. :D

I do hope to take a course starting in the Fall of this year...granted everything works out...for the Med. Office Admin. Certificate. I figure it's a little bit of something different, the courses give me a bit of variety in learning different med. office things I could do (med. office procedures, med. transcription, med. billing/coding,etc.). Figure it's worth a try.....do something a little different w/ my life. :D (Plus, the cert. isn't going to cost as much as having to go back to school full time, etc.)

ANYWAY...thanks again! ;)

P.S. I'm over my t.o.t.m. and I weighed myself yesterday, the scale read 135!! I'm soo excited!! I mean, it may be different tonight for my 'BL Challenge' weigh in, but I'm sure it won't be 138.8, like it was last week. :D ANYWAY, just thought I'd share. Will follow up more on the scale issue tomorrow. :D

Ttyl.

:) I am not pregnant, I'm sure it's because my body just isn't as tolerant as it used to be.  No offense Gretamarie but lately I've been thinking of the whole baby thing as a sickeness (a good one at that) that you can catch if you aren't too careful and I know if I start thinking about having babies I'm going to go into overdrive :)  I'd like to have a few years before that happens.

Gretamarie I agree wtih all  the other ladies I hope you stay here and update us on your progress!  We've all learned so much about you it would be a pity to lose you to another forum :)  Maybe we can live vicariously through you ;)

jen - you're so hot

This week I will start weighing myself like.. every other day.  Before I was weighing myself every day but I've decided that after two and a half months of that it's time to break the habit, and as most of you have seen, my weight doesn't flucuate that much so I pretty much know what it's doing, and most of all, I don't want to be addicted to the scale. So here's hoping that Wednesday has good good news for me.  I had a pretty cheating weekend (I made cookies and went to a cookout) and I'm a little nervous but since I haven't weighed myself I don't know how much I'm affected!

So.. update on Alabama weather.  There was snow on the ground on Saturday morning, and today the high is 65-70.  They always say if you don't like the weather stick around a while, it will change.  Here's hoping we don't all get sick because of it!

Hello Everyone! I'm so excited to find a 130/120 group! My name is Danielle I am 2o years old, 5'4" and have been at a steady 132 since January.  Just a short bio: When I was a junior in highschool i was 110-115, senior year I gained about 15lbs due to more inactivity and depression. I went to college and put on about 10 more. I then went to Massage Therapy school, graduated, began working at a gym and started working out and eating healthier. I have toned up a lot and shed a few pounds. My problem is that I don't have the money to eat as healthy as I need to. I live in the "great state of Maine" and everything here costs an arm and a leg! I haven't been on the site for a while because I'm discouraged by not eating as healthy as I should, but I have still been working out 5-6 days a week. I'm here for motivation so thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences!!

First off welcome Danielle!  I hope that you find yourself at home here!  We do weekly weigh in's on Wednesday to help each other chart our progress.  Let us know more about your eating habits so we can try to help you get healthier!

I found a neat website while surfing the web, let me know what you guys think.

http://www.inch-aweigh.com/water.html

Again, yes, Welcome Danielle! :D We'd love to help encourage you! This really is a great group! :D

Simi - Interesting water article.  I actually took several sips of my ice water here at my desk at work while I read the article..hehe. Making me that much more conscience of what the article was saying. :) Thanks for sharing! :D

Ttyl. :D

Welcome mango – Here is wishing you the best of luck and do not let age be a factor.  My mother-in-law recently went on a diet (almost a year ago) with my husband and me and she lost over 40#.  She is now 145# at 5 feet 6 inches and she is 56 years old.  And my dad also went on a diet over the last two years and has now lost almost 75# and he is 54 years old. (He is now 195# at 6 feet).  So go for it girl!  Age is not a factor, only dedication.  And we will be here to support you the whole time.  Congrats on the 3#, I know it is frustrating sometimes because it seems to be “going slow” but those three pounds represent 10,800 calories that you have burned.

I am also glad to hear you are making strength training part of your routine.  It will pay off and will critical to your success and overall health.  So if your strength is going up but the scale is not that means you have lost fat, so celebrate.  I agree 2,000 calories is probably a bit high at your height but it is really important to not net below 1200 calories a day or you are likely to stall your diet from over-restricting.

Ornellanicole – I am glad to hear about your good day.  And you are beautiful, so I am glad you now feel it too.

Gretamarie – Congrats on the tentative pregnancy!  How exciting.  I hope you stay here too (even if you are not longer in the 120s/130s).  And I will be bulking again this winter and will be cutting again next spring.  So when you are ready to lose the baby weight in the spring, I will be here still J    * Here is hoping you do not get morning sickness*

Margo – Congrats on the 135#.  Yay!  You are doing great, keep it up.

Simi --  hehe  yeah I had a bad weekend too.  I ate maintance fri, sat and Sunday.  Bad, bad but I was hungry.   So now no cheats for two weeks for me, I am posting that to make myself accountable to you ladies.  I would be very surprised if I am down on Wednesday…  Thanks for the water article; it is always good to be reminded.

Dmartineau – Welcome.  Well I hope you find this site helpful and be sure to weigh in with us on Wednesdays.  I recommend Costco.  I buy chicken, fish and veggies by the truckload there.  (You can always split the membership with a friend)

Thanks everyone for all the welcomes.  I guess I am the oldest one here!  Didn't get on the scale this morning, it was calling to me but I resisted.  Ate a bit much this weekend, not too bad, I've fallen in love with Haagen Daaz Coffee Frozen Yogurt.  Who can eat just 1/2 cup? Puhleeze!  Did work out twice since Friday though.  I've been venturing over to the "boys" side of my gym for free weights.  I really think there's a big difference from the machines.  One nice thing about being older is you don't get intimidated by the guys as much anymore.

Congratulations to Gretamarie!  I had my first and only child at 34, gained about 25 pounds and was able to get back to 130 in about 6 months.  Its not too bad. I ate a lot of healthy cereals and nonfat milk! Now I'm shooting to get back to 120. My son starts Kindergarten this fall so I'll have a bit more time to spend on myself again.

ya know, i wish i could post this amazing plan that gave me these latest results, but all i can say is it was time i guess. i'm trying to pinpoint what is the real difference. lately, i double check the scale and have fleeting thoughts of a parasite being the reason, but really i think it was just ready to come off ;)

i've just been plugging away, same as always for months- at least 30 min. cardio at the gym around 5 days a week, and eating good. i've been getting back into weights (only since last week though) which i thought could have spurred the recent drops. for cardio i usually do intervals, 30 sec. intense then 1 min recovery. i don't log my cals anymore, but i eat 6x a day and tally roughly in my head. so i'm not sure if i've increased my cals or decreased lately:( i do try to get enough protein at meals. i focus on veggies and fruit and getting enough fiber. i eat whole wheat bread and wraps. **i eat a LOT of fish lately, which could have flipped the weight loss switch w/ the increased fat and protein combo. i've been having a can of tuna or sardines or salmon almost every day at lunch w/ a spinach salad or veggie soup for the past few weeks. (stopped lean cuisine to try and save $$) also, thinking of upped fat, i've been snacking on peanuts the past week or two. i definitely have splurges and that sometimes precedes a lb loss. margaritas, dinners out, ice cream, beer.

greta- i just want to reiterate how EXCITED i am for you!! i of course hope everything progresses perfectly these next several weeks.

simignonne- that is so sweet of you to say! that made my day :)

mango- a st. patty's day baby! welcome! from your picture i'd say you look fabulous now. here's to starting your 40's the best ever. are you planning on doing weights to fight that metabolism decrease?

Hey everyone! Just checking in...

hbbroadbent - Holy cow woman!  Congrats on the low!  I am so extra motivated again!

gretamarie a very very whole hearted CONGRATULATIONS!

And also welcome to all the new comers as well....

Just a short note today since I'm on my way to be a soccer mom....totm coming next week so I've vowed to not step on the scale after this Wednesday weigh in until it has passed.  It's always such a bummer to see those extra pounds every totm even if we all know it's a normal fluctuation.  Oh and thanks for all the advice for my walks with my girlfriend.  The carrying weights in my hands instead of on my back is a great idea, but unfortunately I'm usually pushing my 3 year old in his stroller along with us.

Here's to a great week!

Good morning all!

The scale was a little more than the 135 lbs. from Sunday morning, but I also weighed myself at night last night....it said 136.2 lbs. (which I still feel happy about!).

Burnyh - Oh..I didn't realize you were pushing your son in a stroller during your walks. Well, in a way, that is exercise too...added resistance or something like that. hehe. :) Good to know that he's able to be out in the fresh air too. :)

Hbbroadbent - Good job with your working out and eating habits! :D Sounds great! Keep it up! :D

Well, everyone, have a happy Tuesday. I'm really tired this morning though..err! I've had 2 shots in the arm this past day and 1/2 from a doctor's visit...so my arm is killing me still! haha. I'm just going to try and make it through this day! :)

-Margo

Morning ladies! :D Happy Wednesday!

I did weigh in this a.m., but I'm a little confused. haha.  I weighed myself on Sunday a.m. and the scale read 135 lbs., then Monday night (my BL challenge weigh in time) the scale read 136.2 lbs., then this a.m. it read 134 lbs. when I first got on. Well being skeptical (as many of you have when you see a low number. :D), I got on the scale 3-5 more times. The weight fluctuated a bunch up and then down.  So...

I still put 134  lbs. as my weight for today. However, as happy as I feel it said 134, I am going to see what it says next week. :) I do know that weighing in at the same time each day that I do weigh in will give me a more accurate reading...so I'll just try and stick to weighing in once to twice a week around the same time from now on. :D

Anyway...;)

Another thing that makes me skeptical of my # is b/c I didn't work out Sun., Mon., or Tues. and I'm not going to tonight either. :( (I got a tetnus shot the other day and my arm is really sore and I'm really tired still). So..it just seems odd..:D Maybe it's the water I've been trying to drink during the day at work? :D About 20+ oz. a day...which isn't much maybe, but it's more than I'm used to drinking during the day which is much, much less than that.

Soo...not doin' well on the exercise front this week...but I'm trying to rest and that's important too I know. :D Tomorrow is Pilates though, so I'm excited about that. Then going to work in some exercise this weekend...so that's good. :)

Okay, enough about that.

Hope all is well with you ladies! :D Have a great day and hope to hear from you soon! :D

Sigh.  130 this morning.  Was 129 yesterday. Curses to the person who brought home made Eggrolls to my office yesterday!  Just ate one, but who knows how many calories were in it.

I worked out hard yesterday too.  I'm about a week from my totm.

Well I plan to keep plugging along....

Hi Mango1968,

I'd say you are doing fantastic! :D

Try not to beat yourself up for the Eggroll (moderation is key, as my trainer says!) and just remember that the t.o.t.m. is evil...haha...with it's added water weight, and depressing/down feelings it gives us...but please keep plugging along (as you said). :D You're doing great! Congrats on working out hard yesterday too...that's positive!

I am telling you what I should tell myself during my t.o.t.m. times..b/c I just about always get that 'who cares' attitude during that time and I do have added water weight, etc. and it makes me feel 'blah'.  So try and keep a conscious effort to continue eating right, exercising during that time so that you don't get any added weight (unless it's muscle ;) ) other than water during that time.

What I'm trying to say is...keep your goals in mind during the dreaded week this month...and the 130 lbs. still is great (and given your t.o.t.m. is coming).  Just keep your eye on that prize....the healthier you!

Smile

Good morning wonderful, beautiful, skinny ladies!

Margo - So you are telling me that because you had a shot in your arm that your legs don't work and you can't do some cardio :)  Also stinker, 20 oz of water is less than what is in the glass I keep beside me at work.  I refill it at least three times while I'm at my desk during the day.  Just know that when you drink a lot of water you pee more, and when you go to the bathroom you are emptying toxins out of your body, wouldn't you want to speed that process up!?!  I'm only saying harsh words because I KNOW that you can make this BL challenge and it's our job on this forum to tell you that, you can do it!!! So do it!

I'm trying to change my workout so now instead of doing 30 minutes of cardio each time I work out, I'm going to make it my goal to be able to run a mile non stop by April 1st (which is also my goal weight date).  It's helped me focus more when I don't have to think about pushing myself for as long.  I think last night it took me around 11 minutes to do a mile (I'm such a beginner don't laugh).

Begining weight:  132 Jan 15th

Last Week: 128

This Week: 127.5

(I was so nervous because I haven't touched a scale since Friday but I'm so excited to see that 127 again!)  here's to 126!!

Can't wait to hear from you, esp. you Margo :)

Mango -  you can make 120 just keep up the hard work, we all fluctuate from week to week, besides your totm is coming along soon and you know what that means!  Drink lots of water :)

I'm going to go to the bathroom for the third time this morning :)  margo you should be doing the same thing!

Hi Simi,

Well...:/ I just came back from the bathroom..haha.

Really, it's not just the shot...I've been exhausted feeling these last few nights...could be a combo. of things. so I'm trying to take it easy early this week.

Though...I can do some floor exercises tonight...even if I don't go to the gym. So, I will work on doing some of those. :)

As for the water....yeah, the glass I have is like 21.8 oz. of water or something....and I have filled it once or twice during the day.  I have to work on getting myself to drink more. :D

Thanks for the encouragement just the same. :D

Congrats on your progress too! Keep it up!!!!

Ttyl.

-Margo

Yay that's what I want to hear!  I'm sorry you aren't feeling so hot, and I'm not trying to gang up on you, I just know that this whole diet and exercise thing is worth so much to you and I don't want to see you let it down for even a second.  Here's to you weighing 133 by next week :)

Thanks for the support, Simi. I really do appreciate it! :D Yeah, I would LOVE to be 133 lbs. by next week...we'll just see! ;)

Have a great day!

-Margo

I think I've noticed a trend....we weigh ourselves too much!  Mango-I don't think you gained a pound over eggrolls and Smiles it sounds like you're weighing almost every day too.  I know it's a bad habit I need to stop.  I was 124.4 on Monday, and I've been a different weight every single day this week.  Rediculous!  We fluctuate due to our sodium intake, how much water we've drank, our elimination habits, etc.

Congrats to Simi and Heather who are doing so awesome!

I also wanted to say thank you for all of the well wishes.  Things are moving along well so far, and I'm eating healthy and still doing the same amount of exercise.  They say you need 300 more calories when pregnant--and I'm guessing that's on top of your break even point (for me, about 1800).  It's been very hard for me to eat so much, and I've been falling a little short each day.  I get full so easy!  Anyway, thanks again for the support :)

Happy Wednesday!

Gretamarie - Congrats on your progress so far. :D Hope that you will be able to adjust to having to eat more calories. :D I'm sure you will...just will take a little time. :D

Yeah...I think I'll stop weighing myself more than 1 time a week....it really throws me off. So, Monday I think I'll weigh in for my BL Challenge and then post whatever the results are on Wednesday. That should be okay. :D

Everyone...keep up the good work! Happy Wednesday!

-Margo

132.5....BOOOOOO!  I owe it all to the mass amounts of frozen dinners we've eaten for the past few days (both me and the hubby have been sick, so frozen dinners we're the easiest thing). Grrrr....ah well.  We're both better now, so hopefully 129 will be back next week....well, maybe the week after that since its totm.  It is so hard to be a woman!Kiss

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
  1. Plot your weight curve
  2. Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
  3. Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
