140/130 club timbergrove
  Jul 06 2006 17:39
Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

in typical 'me' fashion--i have managed to get food all over my pants already and it's not even 11:00
#862 djrizzo Mar 27 2007 15:54
LOL! I always wear my food.

It's true--people who don't have to think about everything they put in their mouths don't want to hear about it from us--I have been accused of being "obsessed".  We aren't--we are just "aware".  So you can all "obsess" with me here--we are all in the same boat!!

I AM back on the wagon today Brigitte LOL!  I think I am putting on muscle that I haven't had before--as a result, I am losing inches, but not weight!

Anyone else weight train?
#863 kiigan Mar 27 2007 16:11
i do three times a week or so.  i actually just met with my personal trainer today--if you've never met with one, i TOTALLY recommend it.  definitely even worth saving $$ for.  they can show you effective exercises, and even more importantly--proper form. i meet with mine the last tuesday of every month--so that gives me time to get good at the exercises she shows me, and she can change what we do to meet my changing needs :)

i've definitely started seeing better muscle definition in my arms and legs.  there's still a ton of crap on top, but i can tell the muscle is there :) lol.  one of my favorite things to do? go to a mirror and stand sideways so that when you flex your bicep, you can see along the whole inside.  keep the muscle flexed, then rotate your wrist so that your fist points away from you then towards you then away the towards, etc.  it alternately flexes your bicep and tricep, so there's this little lump that moves back and forth on your arm--it's hilarious!  my b/f showed it to me--now i do it all the time :)
#864 unicat Mar 27 2007 17:29
think i will toss the eggs, i'm the kind of person who throws out the milk ON  the expiration date, regardless of how it smells or looks, my mom thinks its a waste as long as your refrigerator stays cool...

stacey it will work out, remember i was frustrated yesterday morning when my shot up to 146 from 143.5... well this morning its down to 144.5 already so whatever lol... and, wow you are going to ride your bike to work, thats awesome :)

uno - congrats on 148 :)  i talk to everyone who will listen about my weight and "diet" lol..  and have had a lot of people ask me lately how i have lost it...  told my husband i wanted to be all hot looking for the sub ball, that it was like my reveal (i am totally into shows like-how do i look, extreme makeover, biggest loser, etc.) and he said "no your reveal is going to happen when we go home (missouri) or one of them come out to see us, because they are the ones who know you and how much you have lost, and will see it for the first time in over a year..... made me smile... :)

morgan - yours will go back down too :) glad you have the right attitude about it :) not getting depressed or upset by it like i tend to do lol..   i want to start actually weight training once i hit goal weight... am hoping the base gym out here has personal trainers like the one in california did :) i have a problem not knowing if i am working the muscles right, seems like i really have to concentrate on em to see em move, or even feel em move...

(ps.. i get food all over me too for some reason lol..  use a napkin lol :P )

messam - YAY a lb lost and a .5 inch :) whoohooo congrats, and congrats on staying within calorie range yesterday and running :) wtg!

dee - glad you are back on track today :) and glad to hear you are losing inches if not lbs :)

so 144.5 this morning, gotta get my son up and moving early today (at least early for him the last couple weeks lol) as he is going on a field trip with the teen center, then gonna go to the grocery store with the littles.... :) yipppee (i hate shopping with all 3 kids, would much rather just do it with my youngest, but the older two wont be back in school til next week, and we need groceries, or should i say I need groceries lol)  my back is still achey, hubby rubbed it for like two whole minutes last night, ugh...  gonna do my warm up from biggest loser and see how it feels...
#865 kiigan Mar 27 2007 17:51
my b/f is a stickler for dates too.  he'd definitely toss the eggs :) i ate some soup that was like 3 wks old and he was horrified (it was fine!)

good luck shopping with the kids! not a part of life that i can say i am particularly looking forward to--just shopping with little kids, not the part abotu having little kids.  hope your back starts to feel better!
#866 srd1214 Mar 27 2007 17:59
so i had a sweet tooth attack all day today... had some candy and a few bites of a GIANT brownie w/cream cheese frosting. It was good. I'm planning a salad tonight with tuna on top and oil and vinegar dressing... yum! I also have a class on the second floor so I'll try to go downstairs and back up on my 3 breaks to get a little extra movement in.

Yeah, I try not to get too worked up about my weight... It did take me about a year to lose the first 10 lbs and keep it off, so I guess I just need to be patient... that is hard for me... I'd prefer sooner than later, but it's always better later than never!
#867 srd1214 Mar 27 2007 18:01
also, thanks again for all the encouragement! I know for sure if I hadn't of started an account here and start talking to you guys, I would have given up by now! This means a lot, thank you!
#868 unicat Mar 27 2007 19:28
i agree, these last 20 - 30 lbs have been really hard on me, and i have wanted to just give up, but since i joined here i have gotten some great encouragement and feedback :) thanks to everyone :)
#869 kiigan Mar 27 2007 20:00
stacey--that salad sounds REALLY yummy...

glad to hear that you guys have found great support through this site--i love it, too! plus it gives me something to do at work, lol :)  it's great to learn from everyone else here and get new ideas about how to keep losing weight and keep it off

My weight went up to 145 after the weekend I really wish I had more will power to keep them healthy.  Yesterday I only had around 1000 calories but didn't work out.  I tried Green Tea Citrus today and it's actually good I was thinking it would be gross.  I've heard green tea helps metabolism has anyone experienced it's effects? My goal this week is to stay in my calorie range which is 1200-1500 depending on if I worked out.  I think I'm going to start doing taebo on the days I don't hit curves this week.

1st Goal-135

2nd Goal-130

Dream Goal-125
#871 unicat Mar 27 2007 23:02
good luck on those goals tara :) i would be happy to just stay below 145 for a week straight lol, at least right now... this going up and down between 143 and 147 is for the birds lol...
#872 djrizzo Mar 28 2007 01:22
If I weighed 125 I would be a bean pole at 5'8"!  135 will do me nicely--but I think with the weights I may not get much below 145.

It was sooo beautiful today--i rode my bike outside for the first time this spring!  It was soooooo much fun!  This is normally a rest day for me, but I couldn't resist!  I'm so glad I didn't!

I love coming here too--It has helped me keep my perspective on things, and to take it one step at a time.  I like encouraging others too--makes me feel good!

have a great evening!

ugh i have a missing kitten.. i have spent the last hour searching the livingroom for her....  i dont think she got out of the livingroom, but i have checked in the other rooms a bit, and i have picked up the couches and checked under them and in them as far as i could (no i didnt actually lift up the couches..  i tilted em..) UGH  i am going crazy,... we have had them for a whole 3 days and ones missing :(
#874 unicat Mar 28 2007 04:40
well after hours of searching for her, (instead of taking the nap i planned, haha..  someones way of making me stay awake??) my son came home from his field trip with the teen center and almost immediately found her in the couch.. errrrrrrrrr... lol... i even cleaned the littles bedrooms searching for her.. lol..  made a mess of the teens room though haha..  bad luck for him.. :P (he had stuff shoved alll under his bed, so now he has it all over the floor)
#875 unicat Mar 28 2007 09:11
ugh... okay, so i did good all day...  then went to a neighbors house for her fathers bday..  he flew in tonight, and we all greeted him at the door with leis.. he had em all the way up to his chin... so i did good, basically..  they had cake and icecream, and i had two fingertip size bites of the cake from my sons plate...  but i have a feeling my scales going to read higher tomorrow..  then hubby calls and tells me they are going to have food at the meeting we have to attend tomorrow night.. ugh....  so instead of eating what i had planned, i am adjusting all my food intake for tomorrow.. to account for whatever they might be serving us..  usually meats, and some kind of vegetable..  hopefully no cake..   then we have an awards ceremony and boat party on saturday.. ugh.. i have a feeling my weights going to stop moving down for the next week...  hopefully i can get through it without going higher, and at least maintaining... gonna go post this in my journal now lol... replacing my deficits entry....
#876 courtswim4life Mar 28 2007 10:39
Ok girls, I need some motivation.  I have a really bad cold and I'm actually a little depressed.  I really wanted to have an almost "boot camp-esque" week.  I'm leaving for Italy next week and I won't be able to go swimming or running.  There will also be really good food to tempt me.  I just feel like this cold couldn't have come at a worse time.

So now I'm wrapped up in bed w/ my tomato soup reading about everyone losing weight! : (
#877 srd1214 Mar 28 2007 13:21
unicat- *phew!* glad you guys found the kitty! those little things can be sneaky! My cat hid behind the washer one time... that was interesting... Stay strong with the outings! And don't beat yourself up if you indulge a little bit! I would say just try to maintain rather than lose and have a good time!

tara- those do sounds like good goals, keep up the work, you'll make your goals before you know it! you can do it!

dj- that's awesome that you got to get out and enjoy the weather! It makes for such a refreshing workout!

courtswim- just try to fill up with fruits and veggies to try to conquer that cold and still try to stay healthy... that really stinks, but don't let it get you down!
#878 uno100 Mar 28 2007 13:57
courtswim4life - soup, soup, soup. It fills you up and makes you feel all snuggly inside. Can't say enough about the stuff! Plus, progresso has tons of 100 cal soups that you just have to heat and eat. I'm a big fan (as you can tell). Get better! Drink lots of tea!

Thanks unicat - you always know just what to say. Had a wardrobe snafu this morning at the gym. Realized the skirt I brought to wear was indecently big and had to stop at Wal-Mart and pick something up on the way to work! Kind of funny, kind of panicky!

Having a good day today. Down a little more and feeling good.

tara - green tea hasn't helped me, but drinking any liquid should help fill you up and green tea has lots of antioxidants. So I say, drink up. I love your dream goal. Mine is 130, but I'm not quite sure yet if I really want to be down that low. You know what I mean?

Back to work. I'm in charge of report cards at our school and today is the day I have to get them out. Woo-hoo. Yuck.
#879 tara9099 Mar 28 2007 15:02
Well I didn't do to bad for supper last night my boyfriend wanted Wendys so I got a south west taco salad and didn't use the chips or dressing.  I did put salsa on it and used the sour cream packet.  It's been raining here so I haven't got to walk my dogs this week.  They usually motivate me to walk faster since I have a pit bull and he pretty much drags me around.  I got a pull harness for him though now and it works wonders! I still walk pretty fast with him though cause he needs the excersise since he is stuck in a one bedroom til we find a house.  I'm going to the store this week and getting the diet green tea citrus
#880 srd1214 Mar 28 2007 15:02
uno, I'm right with you on the goal. I'm at 139 right now and think I'll be happy at 135. I'm 5'7", too, and I don't think I'll need to go to 130. But I'll see what happens at 135!
