I want to lose 10 lbs before we fly out on May 24th.

olivia- yes, would love to keep the post going- the new date is a good idea.

I had been putting everything together the night before and then logging as I went, but since last friday, I have been in a slump- I went overboard for my friend's birthday and just felt a little eeyore-ish since- it is probably part hormonal. The past two mornings I have just grabbed whatever and taken that- though we don't have anything "unhealthy" in the house- it probably isn't balanced, which might be another reason I'm in the slumps.... good news is though that I am not buying stuff from the cafeteria (which btw- I work in a hospital, you would think that they would have healthier choices than just iceburg lettuce)

I'm really not always a big whiner :)

My goals for tonight: pack my food for the day, write down a plan for the rest of the day, get plenty of sleep, and wake up feeling excited about the day :)

oh, and write in my journal at least every other day...

Yes! a new date would be awesome. What about a month from now? and i'd love to hear what folks are eating and doing...still trying to figure all that out for myself.

ANy advice to those who have never been to LA or Vegas?   Places to go, where to eat HEALTHY, or things to do or see?

I have jogged hard core two mornings in a row.   GO ME  ---   chugging water and eating raw veggies for my snack.   (dork)

I have never been to LA, but  in Vegas you will have to see the Bellagio fountains and the gardens inside- the Venetian and Palazo are my favorites- How many days are you there? Our strategy was to start on one end of the strip- walk up (going in and out of hotels) until we were too tired and then picked up from where we left off the next day- skipping over some of the hotels that we didn't care much about seeing.

As for eating healthy - very hard in Vegas.... we took advantage of the buffets in the morning filling plates with tons of fruit and then some eggs for protein

Buffets might have more options as far as getting fruits and veggies, but watch out- they can be tempting

Also, everything was really expensive, so either we would split food, or wrap it up and save it for later..... 

Good new is that you will be doing a lot of walking

I hope all you gals are doing great! I'm sorry I haven't been around much in the past couple of weeks. So much has been going on... finishing up at my old job, starting my new one.... so busy. Haven't really fallen off the wagon, just haven't taken the time to track properly.

No loss, no gain either... well I keep going up and down the same 2lbs from the last 3 months. *sigh*

Leaving on my trip in 2 weeks, hoping can kiss those lbs plus another one before I go!

I'm totally interested in keeping the thread going with you all after the date :)

I have a question!

Is it harmful (other than the mild discomfort) to have TOO much fiber?  I concentrated on keeping my fiber up today and ended up at 46 g.  (and a lot of Calories but it's a maintenance day).

I think fiber is good as long as it doesn;t affect you personally in a bad way.  Everyone is different, but......  

I am almost thinking about just editing my original post to reflect our new date ----   taking suggestions about when to set our new goal date.   I am thinking maybe July 4th?  Maybe my anniversary (July 27th)?

I jogged 2 mornings in a row ---   it is so much nicer than in the afternoon!   And bonus -- I was way more awake and less grouchy for sure today.   ( :

I couldn't find any articles against fiber (only did a quick glance) they all wrote about how to increase fiber, so, I think it is just the bloating and stuff.... and your body will adjust...

5 miles- that is awesome! And with all you have been doing even though the scale isn't where you want it to be- I am sure you look great- there is no way you couldn't. And, yeah, who cares? You are going on a fun vacation- have fun :)

I am nowhere close to ready to go!   I mean, mentally, yes, but physically, no.   lol

I have to do laundry, pack, check with the friend who is feeding our fish and cats, clean up a little, maybe get a haircut, get a swim suit, on and on....

I like July 4 as our next goal date... hopefully I don't blow it on vacation.

My scale decided to play nice this morning and I logged in at 170.2 which is my lowest to date... for the challenge I'm down -4.6 lbs... so as long as it stays away I'm pretty happy with losing that in 2 months.. Going to try and double it now!

I am (scared and) excited to get out of town and chill in some new places.  

I have not been a real vacation really ever as an adult.  And as the child of a single mom with 2 other kids, we did not do much in the way of vacationing when I was a kid.  Maybe to our g-parents in western Kansas -- i.e. really boring.,....   ( ;

Hope to have a blast, take lots of pics, and come back ready and raring to get on with Summer Academy teachng.  

olivia- the worse part for me about a vacation is preparing- I just want it done and to be at my destination :)

dj- sorry if I missed- where are you going on vacation? Way to go on the - 4.6!!
