Ladies and gentlemen we have hit 245!!! YAH ME! I am so excited, a few months ago I couldn't even imagine 250 and now I've hit that and gone 5 lbs. further. How awesome is that. Of to start my excersice packed weekend! Good luck everyone.

Angie

Grats sun!

And Angie, you can totally see the difference!!  I take pics every month.  And my first pic and last month, I couldn't see a difference but others could.  Granted, haven't heard anyone in RL say anything but still.  But yes, it's so awesome seeing those drops.  When I stepped on my scale this morning, I was hoping to at least hit below 330 (last week was 330.6) and instead, it was 4.4 lbs down at 326.2!  Now 325 is right around the corner, which seems so strange from when I first started.

#743 velvetkiss Jul 20 2008 06:42

Congrats to everyone your all doing so well!  I hope my scale starts moving soon.  Hope your all having a great weekend!

#744 sun123 Jul 20 2008 20:51
Got to love THOSE surprises Liza!  Always good to remember them on days you might want to kick the scale too.  What a great loss jump for you!

Wish I could see your photos Ang - my computer probably is just acting up.  YAY for 245!  Great news with weigh heading towards weigh-in.  Velvet - hoping weighin is the lucky day for you as youve been wonderfully patient working thru this.  Hang in there and go for it with 1-1/2 weeks left.

Wednesday morn I leave for Vegas, coming back late Saturday so Vegas will have much to do with my 8/1 weigh-in.  The fact that I will than be leaving AGAIN 8/9 for Vegas (my 3rd since mid June) and its the one Im most critical to look my best.  Not because its the last one so I should be lightest of the 3 but because I will actually (but momentarily) meet Leonard Nimoy twice - photo and later autograph.  I know that Im on an assembly line of fans but I adore him and those it will be quick, I want to look (FEEL) my best.  So this trip, I will be strong and walk and walk and then walk!

The 3 trips - kind of insane.  My last trip was 2000 but these events just coincidentally fell within 2 months of themselves.  Because this is my 2nd trip was not enough to blow off the in person Nimoy opportunity, big a fan as I am.  Elton and/or Leonard - dont get me started, I wont shut up but I'll also listen forever about them too.
#745 renaer14 Jul 21 2008 01:01

liza-thanx girl, my face has always been a bit round and chubby, but man that b-4 and after pic of just my face was incredible I can see a bit of a difference in the mirror, but you really need a b-4 picture to really put it all into perspective.

I am so excited for you how awesome is that a 4.4 lb. loss. I am right there with you when it comes to how weird it feels to be at the weight I am now considering how heavy I let myself get. I really didn't think I could get back down to 250 let alone think I could actually get down to my goal weight I really do feel like I can do it. I actually feel like below 200 is possible now, as before I would of thought you were out of your mind.

Velvet-just watch all the sudden it'll give you a number you won't believe. You can do it. Keep up the hard work.

Sun-wow another trip to Vages fun fun. We need to have like a 300+ CC convention out there. How fun would that be. I can't believe we have only a week and a half before our monthly weigh in how crazy is that. Time has just flown. Good luck with your start sitings and have fun.

Today I weighed in at 245 again I was so happy sometimes I hit those numbers and the next day I'm up a pound or two, but today it stayed the same and I made yesterday my free day, so that made it even better to see no gain. I'm hoping this will set the precedent of free day on Saturdays after weigh in, instead of in the middle of the week. That really seems to mess up my weigh ins.

I didn't get in exactly what I wanted to for my exercise, but I kind of compromised. I was discugsting yestarday raining off and on and so hot and humid, so I went to my mom's for a bit, in which we cooked out, and I saw this old exercise bike my grandma used to have. She gave it me about 70lbs. back and I could stand to use it my butt was to big and it hurt like hell to ride it very long. Well, I road it for 15min and about 2.5 miles. My butt was a bit numb, but for the most part didn't have any trouble riding it at all, but now I'm all sore. Than after all that I came home and cleaned like a mad lady. What an exercise routine that was. I even got my 3 cats baths, now that deserves some kind of a metal they did not like that idea at all. I have no idea how many calories I burned doing all that, but I have a feeling that's what was up with my good weigh in this morning. Something to be said for housework. Oh, I found 100 calorie packs of Doritos how sweet is that. I am loving all these little "lifestyle" surprises. That is my favorite chip, I love that I can take one pack eat that and not feel like I'm gorging on something horrible and eating like 1000+ calories. Gotta love surprises.

Good luck everyone. We're doing it!

I would loooooove to have 100 cal doritos! They are also my fave. But as yet they do not sell them in England. I will keep my eye out though....

Well done to all, I had a bit of a cheats weekend. I stayed at a friends house and they had gone to the trouble to make fish curry, so I had a bit of that. Plus a few glasses (well 2 bottles!) of red wine, and a lil' cheese board. So this morning my scale informed me I was back up to 250 (Booooo).

So I'm going to have a *Really* good couple of days, got a docs appointment on weds and she always weighs me. So thats an incentive to get some extra veggies and exercise in.

Good luck to you all :)

#747 liza413 Jul 21 2008 17:15

Thanks Sun and Angie!  I was so very excited.  And my BMI is below 50 now!  How cool is that?  Scary that it was as high as it was, but still, very cool.

Sun, have fun in Vegas all 3 times!  I imagine that you’re able to do so much more now since your stamina is a lot better than you used to.  I can totally tell the difference in my body.  I feel so much more in tune to what I can do, when I should stop, when I need to eat more cause I worked out and feel like I need more food, all that stuff.  So, I’m sure you’ll enjoy Vegas even more since you can do more!

Angie, I know what you mean.  I started this aiming to get below 200.  I’ll be happy with getting to 200 anyway even if I don’t go below.  But my aim has been 180, since I feel I can do that realistically.  I know that my weight range is 132-164, and I recently found out my sister is 165 right now (she constantly fluctuates due to medical issues) and is my height.  I can totally get to her size, but the idea of 165 is a bit much for me.  So until then.  I think once we start losing big enough chunks of weight, we realize that we won’t fail and can do it.  Oh, and what about video tapes?  I do hip hop ones since I find them more fun to do.  Although, I have digital cable and get the fitness channel on Demand, so sometimes, I’ll do some of those workouts instead.  One of them was inside walking.  You do a mile walk in your house.  Wasn’t bad at all.

Laura, stinks they don’t have the 100 cal Doritos.  Can you make your own 100 cal packs using Ziplocs?  I’ve heard of people doing that.  I think the big thing of the 100 cal packs is that whatever the item is, it’s in very small pieces and makes you feel like you’re eating more.  More hand to mouth movement.  Although, it’s not realistic for some foods (like 2 cookies in a Ziploc) but when it comes to chips, there are a bunch in there.  Dunno if that’d help you.

Good luck everyone!  We’re doing what so many people try to do or think about doing.  Just remember, we’re success stories in the making!

Off to Vegas in the morn and gone until late Saturday.  Insane busy!  Returning with little time before weighin so thinking - be extra good and walk those casinos, baby!

Yay Liza on your BMI!  Thanks for the Vegas wishes.  One of my 2 concerts was cancelled actually GOOD news LOL.  Each concert is $600 so this was major investment and I doubt I'd have bought this trip if I'd already found my better June concert seats.  Plus that concert refund practically pays my entire 3rd trip.  Its a lot more extreme than enjoying it more with the weight loss - no way I couldve gone before.  I couldnt even go when he was here in town years back - wouldnt fit the seats, barely could walk, too hard!  I was heartbroken and going to Vegas was on mind from the diet start.  Im with you on the weight goal - mine is considered overweight too but Im okay and when we are close, easier to make decisions then too.

Laura, good luck with the doctor scale and popping off the recent weight which I bet you can beat down with your plan.  I find when I gain very recently, if I get right on it that it drops quicker.  Plus you still time until August 1st weighin.

Love the progress on your bike 'fit' renear!  We cant help but be into the numbers but than a physical situation like your bike time or fitting the seat really brings home what progress affects us.  Funny to think about your cats geting washed.  Happy for you and your dorito find too.

Will be gone a while but hoping this last weekend gives all the boost for a nice August 1st update!
#749 renaer14 Jul 24 2008 03:22

laura-I'll have to send you some 100 cal doritos via cyber mail:) How was the doc. appointment? Hope all went well. You are really doing good though. Keep it up.

liza-I so know what you mean I can't wait to get close to 200 honestly I think I would be exstatic to be 200 for the rest of my life. My final goal is about 140-150, but as you said it seems like a bit much. The reality of that number is so far away, but as I consistently lose more and more weight it doens't always seem so out of reach. I like the tape idea at the library you can actually rent exercise videoes. I've seen those fit tv things I really like that show where they alternate your routine, like one day its hip hop, next its yoga and than boot camp, but the show is called one thing. You're doing awsome keep it up. Oh, good idea about doin the doritos in ziplocs, but I would be to tempted to eat way to many. We sure are success stories  in the making.

Sun-you're awesome I love your concert motivation my motivation is part of the same concept I want to go to an amusement parks, fairs and carnivals and be able to ride every ride. I will so become a carni when I love all this weight lol. I will honestly probably travel all over to go to these things. It's just something I kind of missed in my teen years and I want to make up for it so bad.

Other news, but will share later need to run.

Good luck everyone! We're doin the damn thing :)

Angie

The docs well, weighed in at 246 which is a new low and gives me a BMI of 32! My blood pressure was absolutely fine too :)

Ive managed to get myself 5 months half price gym membership too. Its only £20 (which I think is around $40) for a top notch gym. I can use everything there, including the pool. It's only round the corner from my apartment so I have NO excuses not to go.

A year ago I would have been too self concious/nervous to join a big gym so this is a big step. Have to go out and get some new gym shoes,as it all starts on monday. I will keep you updated on how that goes.

Keep it up :)

#751 renaer14 Jul 27 2008 06:49

laurabow-YAH! So happy for you that is awesome. Man we are right in line with each other. Good for you getting into the gym it can be an intimidating thing to do when you've been as heavy as we have. Good luck.

Well I hoped to be reporting on my news, but it has kind of turned into a bust. I semi had a new love interest. Which I had somewhat just written off love in general, mostly because I was tired of dealing with it and because I have had so much going on, but I let the thought cross my mind for a moment and than it was all gone. People are ****. On a good note. I think I might have just landed a position as a property manager, something I would of never gone for at 315lbs. I'm very excited about this. I am in school right now for my bachelors degree in business and this opportunity will let me get the experience I need for after I graduate as well as an outlet to use what I'm learning in school as I learn it. I want it to put on my resume:). So bad news I have gained weight at 245lbs. right now, but good news I saw 243 the other day and than it was TTOTM. So I can deal with the influx for a bit. Gotta get back on track before I get to far off my goal though.

Good luck everyone.

Angie

#752 sun123 Jul 29 2008 14:51
Back from Vegas and managed to get to an empty front row seat towards the end of the concert so made it onstage again.  This time got a high five from Elton AND at the end when it was pointing thankfully to the crowd, got a direct point at me with eye contact.  So my non stage access seat concert ended up best ever!

Think I did well with my eating. Had 2 special meals but not over the top and the rest very strict.  The cortisone though had worn off so walking was off but getting shots again before my last trip, Vegas  in 1-1/2 weeks for Star Trek.  Super strict now since will photo and get autograph from L. Nimoy so wanting to look best possible.

Thinking good thoughts for Thursday, knowing my next Thursday weigh in will be for AUG 1ST update!

Liza - what a big step with the gym, proud for you!  How cool so convenient location wise and update us with how it goes.  Ang - the job sounds great for your field and as experience.  Got some time TTOM to pass for August update so hope that works to your advantage plus youve got youre progress still from last July 1st too!
#753 renaer14 Jul 29 2008 21:44

Sun-it sounds like you had an eventful vacation. That is to cool how you get to be so close to Elton. I love your motivation to stay on track for your next trip. Pictures, I think are the best motivator. My mom wants to do a professional picture of me in a few months for the newsletter we put out at work to kind of introduce me to all our members. Kind of an official thing. I am horrified of pictures especially anything public like that so I am pushing myself to look my best for that. Sounds like you really did good on your "diet" while you were away. I can't believe August 1st is almost here. This month has gone so fast.

I hit 242lbs. this morning I was so excited. I'd like to be at 240 by the 1st that will give me a total loss of 12lbs. this month. Its hard to believe that I will be in the 220's for the September 1st weigh in, if I stay on track. OMG, I about died I went to the store with my mom the other day and she went down the isle that I try not to even think about when I go to the store, the cookie and chip isle, I was just kinda wondering behind and looking at labels, which I have become addicted to doing, and all the sudden I see an entire section of nothing but 100 calorie pack items, I was in heaven. Cookies, crackers and chips all 100 calories it was a beautiful thing. I so wanted one of everything, but I was good I grabbed some chocolate striped cookies, but the cookie was a shortbread cookie. The chocolate was good, but the cookie was a bit weird, so I am anxious to try the other stuff. I am so happy to have a variety of choices for snacks. Oh, I got a tip from a girl on here there is a company that makes peanut butter without the oil in it so it's allot healthier and less calories. It's a powder and you just add water, and its only about 50 calories for 2 tablespoons.  I am so anxious to try that I miss my peanut butter. You can order it online or you can use their store locator and find a store near you that has it. We don't have a Hyvee here, but there is one about 25 min away, but they are building a Hyvee store here soon so I am hoping they have it in stock here. The peanut butter website: bellplantation.com

Good luck everyone.

Ang

I am thinking my monthly weigh in will be pretty good!

Ang - Thanks for the nice comment and I will be checking out that website for the peanut butter

... Thinking good thoughts for Thursday, knowing my next Thursday weigh in will be for AUG 1ST update!

Yup!

Until just know did it hit me that THIS thursday is my final weigh, not next!  Ive been so obsessed with my last Vegas trip NEXT weekend and counting down to it that I somehow tossed in the the monthly update to it when if I well know every numbered day up to the 9th when I leave.  Guess Im so used to counting down to monthly weigh in, didnt realize I'd lumped them together.

SO ... it actually feels like a surprise that its here LOL !!!  My recent slight bump up bumped back down so now just to hold out until tomorrow! Looking forward to everyone's updates and wishing you all a lower number than last month!

#756 sun123 Jul 31 2008 16:36
AUGUST IS ON THE BOARD!

Weighed in today at 284.7, a nice big loss month with 14.3.  I usually set at 10+ for the month and anything more is appreciated.  Feb & March were not so good but May, June & July have been really great.

Hoping ot hear from everybody soon with updates!
#757 aovermy Jul 31 2008 17:03
Well, despite rebounding twice during the month to the 230's, I finished up at 221, a small loss, but heck, I'll take it, I had to fight hard for it!

My running is improving, I can run continually for longer than I used to and my walking periods have shrunk during the walk/runs, so I can see myself getting better at it.

I'm going to a wedding next week so I'll be in San Diego all next week. We're flying out on Saturday. I'm a little leary about the airplane seats and seat belts.

I got 2 new dresses for the events. These are dresses I never would have considered wearing before. One is a backless, plunge neck black with sequins number and the other is a champagne colored dress with pearls on the bodice of the overdress. They're both size 22W so they're not too tight at any point. I didn't want to buy something that I'd have to be neurotic about gaining weight with.

My profile pic is me in the black dress (keep in mind, the hair will be done, the gym socks will not be worn! and there will be matching shoes!

Right now, I have the best of both worlds. I can shop at the Women's section or Lane Bryant or justmysize.com and buy 1X clothing, or I can shop in the ladies section and buy XL or size 18 clothing.
