Original Post by mollymouser: I am a groundhog (2/2). My folks were frisky in the spring, and I got the bleak midwinter to make my appearance! Mom had 2 summer babies, and said she wasn't doing that again, so her last 2 kids were winter babies. |

Original Post by mollymouser: I'm a total yard sale/thrift store junkie. I'm not such a huge fan of organizing my own yard sales, though. I'd rather dig through other peoples' treasures. I haven't found any absolutely amazing things, but I have a few oddball items that I collect (especially lobster floats), and yardsales are my main hunting ground. I'm a seamstress, and I've gotten all kinds of fabric and things at yard sales, too. |

| Hi All, I'll be turning 43 next Saturday the 26th. As far as yard sales go, I use to love them and spend weekends driving from one to the next. I haven't been to one in years, as I would buy things I didn't need and then have no place to put them. I've had a few yard sales and enjoyed unloading some things I no longer used. | ||

I actually stopped at a yard sale yesterday. It wasn't in my 'plan' but there was a foreclosure sale going on down the street from my son's house. I found a breadmaker - identical to one I had owned and previously gotten rid of at one of MY yard sales several years ago. And I bought it because I want to try my hand at making my own healthy fiber-ful bread! I struggled through this weekend with eating because I spent a lot of time with my son (who is 14 and SOOOOOO interested in food!) He is hungry every time I turn around. How does everyone else balance cooking in moderation for themselves and meeting the needs and desires of everyone else's hunger in their family?? It is so difficult for me to cook up raviolli and sauce for everyone else, and then just eat the salad for myself! Is it sheer will power? Ugh! |

I went to yardsales yesterday, ALL day! I went with a friend I met online on another site. When she saw the pics of my kids, she recognized my son! (Our kids use to like one another! lol) Didn't find any good things to buy though. Maybe next time! lol I've been eating good and eating within my calories. Phew! :D |

I love yard sales or "garage sales" as we call them here (even if they aren't in always in a garage). But I Haven't been to one in a long time. I like shopping at garage sales but I don't particularly like holding them because I'm always hot and tired afterwards. Also, I've never figured out how to hold one without making an entire mess of my house in the process. |

We call them by both names here. I've only had a couple myself. Everything I have, I use! lol And I don't hold onto things all year round to sell them in the summer. When I don't want something I throw it out! I hate clutter. |

Hey there. 3am here in smoggy central California, and we just got back from spending several hours at the emergency room for my asthma. (wheeze wheeze wheeze wheeze ... gasp) After several breathing treatments I was somewhat improved, so they let me come home (where I am now WIDE AWAKE and still pretty wheezy.) I am also pretty exhausted from coughing and wheezing for the past 12 hours or so ... but the meds they gave me are making my heart race. Oh well, at least I'm burning more calories, right? (sigh) |

QUESTION OF THE DAY - MONDAY JULY 21 Do you spell it catsup or ketchup? Do you like ketchup? What do you put your ketchup on? MOLLY |
||
| #738 | Jul 21 2008 12:35 | |
Original Post by mollymouser: ketchup, as catsup seems like a word from the Garfield comics and not the real thing:) i like it but do not use it very often. sometimes i add it to salads or on a sandwich, but i do not really crave it that much. |

"Ketchup" with a "k" but I don't know how to spell, so what do I know? It has sugar in it and my husband can't have it. So, I don't have it around the house much. But I do love it cooked on top of meatloaf. It has to be cooked not cold, though. I really like it on fried okra but not French fries. I also mix it with other goodies like horseradish and lemon to make a seafood dip. But other than those few things, I don't really use it much. ~ Beth |

Ketchup. It is the perfect way to accessorize your french fries! Although, I have tried french fries with mayo and found that to be quite tasty. Is that a German thing? Mayo on your french fries? And thick cut fries with malt vinegar....mmmm. OKay...I MUST stop obsessing over french fries!!! :) Sorry...lost myself there for a moment, but darn, I miss those fries. |
