yay! 164!

I thought I'd never break free of 165.

It's not huge but I'm happy to see it.

#702 kpersons May 09 2008 15:33

Hey everyone.

I am not even looking at the scale. I want to throw it against the wall. This last week has been hell.

There is a serial rapist in my neighbourhood targeting white women that live alone. So, I have been nervous every night when I come home.

Then yesterday a guy smeared my car from behind all over an intersection. The impact was so hard it broke my seat.

Plus financial woes running back from my abusive ex.

I don't think the weight will ever come off.Frown

#703 krrpt08 May 09 2008 15:45

katie- d*mn girl! and I thought I was having a bad week! maybe you should invest in some pepper spray for the time being... my b/f said to get one with a high percentage of Oleoresin Capsicum. I think 10% is about as high as it gets... and that'll knock anybody on their butt... what is with the car drama around here? I'm sorry you have to deal with all this crap.. but the weight will come off :) maybe just not right now :)

#704 thinthought May 09 2008 16:07

Kpersons- I would say that you are allowed to not concentrate so much on the scale- everything is happening all at once- my heart goes out to you!!!

Congrats to those with a loss for the week!

And for those (like me) that the scale reads the same- it will come off (right?? :)) It seems like for me I make a huge effort for two or three weeks without seeing an ounce drop and then when I am at my wits end two pounds come off- I guess I can't complain, but it would be nice to see a little bit each day- whatever :)

#705 olivia77 May 09 2008 16:43
katie --  I said this in your journal too, but hugs and good vibes to you and evil, scary ones to all the jerks making you miserable right now.

CHin up as best you can -- this too shall pass!!!!!

thinthought --   YES!!!!!!!!!   It WILL come off.    I went all week stuck at 166.5 and the yesterday and today I saw 164 and 165.  It will come off --- keep at it.  ( :

Come on everyone -- where are you?  =P

#706 kpersons May 09 2008 17:10

Thanks guys. I appreciate the good vibes. Nice to know you got someone at every corner!

I'll be going home from work soon, so will be back on after a snooze.

Hugs for all.

#707 thinthought May 09 2008 17:54

you know k, with all that I have read about what is going on with you- it makes me need a snooze *sympathy hug* I hope you get some well deserved rest!!

Thanks Olivia for the encouragement.

What are everybody's plans this weekend? Anything challenging coming up?

The big thing will be mother's day dinner since we will be going out to eat, but I haven't been out in a few weeks so that shouldn't be too bad as far as feeling guilty. My brother and I are getting her a pretty fruit basket- they are cut and arranged to look like flowers... edilbe creations- I'm sure they are all over... some of the fruits are slightly dipped in chocolate, so this should be a fairly healthy dessert- no having to say no to cake Innocent

My personal upcoming goal is no alcohol (with the exception of one friday night b/c it is a friend's birthday) starting the 11th (I like to start things at the beginning of the calendar week- I'm weird like that) until Memorial day (after I run a 10k)

Maybe I should start that as a challenge?

#708 puppykisses May 09 2008 17:59

KP - Thank God it's Friday!!!!  Hopefully you can have a nice relaxing weekend - doors locked, pepperspray at your side.  Cuddle up with a good book or movie a cup of tea and relax.  Or if that is not how you roll go for a walk or bike ride in a different neighborhood or park.  Amazing how that can drown out the crap.

I was 132.9 last week and am at 133.0 this week.  I believe in the power of thought and words.  I was amazed at the 132.9 and KNEW I could not get below that......guess what.....I did not!!!  I will get below 133....I will .... I WILLYell.

Hi Girls,

I was just delighted to see the scale numbers this morning.  :) I've been eating mostly vegetables the past few days.  I've eaten alot of frozen vegetables, steamed, with just pepper for flavor.  I haven't even had my usual daily Lean Cuisine.  And that's been hard! I was stuck at a plateau and had to do something.  It worked.

Friday April 2, 2008   100.2

Friday April 9, 2008      96.6

This week I lost almost four lbs on healthy vegetables.  :)  Normally I lose just barely over a pound a week if I'm lucky. I was a little surprised to lose four.  That's too much in one week, I realize. So I need to be careful.

Now I am going to change things up and add some shrimp, chicken, or beef to my stir fry.  No soy sauce because of the sodium.  The sodium definitely sabotages my good intentions everytime.  I'm learning to like the taste of food with little sodium these days.

I only have one pound and 6 ounces to lose now to reach my goal to weigh 95 pounds again.  I feel like I'm dreaming when I get on that scale.  It's so much fun to weigh now.  I have lost exactly 24 pounds in 18 weeks, since January 1st.  I've gone from 120.6 lbs to 96.6 lbs.  It's great to be so close to my normal weight for my five foot frame.  I didn't think I'd ever see this weight again.  All the hard effort has surely paid off.  I just hope I can keep the weight off for good this time!

Keep up the good work everyone............I do so enjoy your posts.  You are all doing great.    Have a great weekend!

#713 olivia77 May 12 2008 17:04
It's just as easy to "slip back on" as it is to "slip off," girls, so get er done!

: D

You can do it!!!

I promised myself I would run or otherwise cardio EVERY DAY until the 24th.  I really want to lose the last 4 lbs I have to get to 160 even.  I bet the bf I could do that and he would give me some $$$ to get new clothes/swim suit with.  (  :

Anyone with me on the exercise challenge?  or wanna make a challenge to me?  ( :

#714 thinthought May 12 2008 17:18

Olivia- yeah, lets do an exercise challenge....YEA!

#715 olivia77 May 12 2008 18:05
yay!  thinthought -- you're on.  ( :

Just going to say you will workout every day until the 24th, or is your self-exercise challenge different?
#716 thinthought May 12 2008 18:54

that sounds like a good challenge! I currently do at least three days a week 4 on most weeks, but it has all been jogging and I have been telling myself that I need to do something else- weights, yoga, or something...

PLUS that will help with my own personal not drinking challenge-

I realized today that I need to bring my self to the next level of a healthy me....

#717 olivia77 May 12 2008 19:00
My friend caro challenged me to the no drinking during the weekn about 6 weeks ago, and it kicked my weight loss into high gear.  ( :

yeah, thin thought,  add in some weights or something.

That's a good challenge.....  any "extra" you do will kick it up a notch!  : D
#718 thinthought May 12 2008 19:00

woo hoo- next level here I come :)

Olivia- be prepared for a new suit and clothes :)

oh and , thanks for your reply on my journal- (I was complaining about the price of fruit).

Veggies are a great idea and peppers have been on sale- which I love with hummus...

I just have a bit of a sweet tooth and i find that fruit makes an excellent dessert- but I can justify a little splurge on fruit (as long as I eat all my veggies first) :)

oh and unfortunately, we don't have a farmers market near by and they don't go year round for us :(

#719 olivia77 May 12 2008 19:54
dang, thinthought --- ( :

I just stick with the ones I know I will eat before they go bad and the ones I enjoy the most.

Fruit is very expensive, sadly.  Unlike junk crap food which is cheap.  Riddle me that, Batman.

WHere are you again?  Do you have an Aldi's?

(((OH--  I logged in to say I was feeling all blah about exercising after work already. How sad.... I still have 2 hours of work, a long commute home, and then have to strap my shoes on and get out the door.  OI VAY -- BUT  I am sticking to my self-promise.  I really want to be 160 when I walk off the plane in California!!!)))

yep:-) yesterday i have walked a lot so it was probably just slightly over maintenance in the end.  today i am withing my limit and think i will not eat nay more, and walked for more than two hours, hopefully it means i am back on track!

i do not exercise per se, i just walk a lot or work in my familys garden when i am visiting them, so i cannot take a cardio exercise challenge, but definitelly can do somehting like "walk or work physically for more than 1 hour every day", how does it sound?
