My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way! if you have any suggestions, please tell me.... |

Hye...I am trying to figure it out too...I am going to do the veggies and see if that helps. Yes...I had a deficit of 5632 last week and almost that this week. I usually weigh in on Sunday or Monday so maybe it was just too early. Normally I would not have weighed myself except for it being the 39 thing. I don't want to hit 40 and be over weight. The goal date that C-C give me to obtain my goal weight is February 2008. That's 2 months befoer I turn 40. I know I can do this... Thanks cats. |

kylie- so awsome! I'm itching to hit that 20lb mark.
ellbell-glad you lost that pound! The rest will follow. Can you believe we've managed to stay off the scale this long? I'ts still driving me crazy every morning but maybe it's getting a little easier. hye- happy shopping! It's a pretty day here too at least for now. I'm in a good mood today:) I think when I get my first 20 off I'm going to buy myself some birkenstocks. I had some a few years back and my dog ate them. I had wanted a pair since I was a teen and I only got to wear them a few months before our new cat peed on them and I guess that led the dog to wanting to chew them up. I'll catch ya'll later! |

Happy Birthday Ginny! :-) I had court hearing today on my rear end accident and I still had to pay a fine of $145. The good thing is they brought down the charge and I have no points on my record! I ate a yogurt and a Mcchicken so far today so thats not that bad.... Kids come back today and I am gonna have a loud rest of the night. The sun is shining and its almost 72 so I am thinking we are all gonna walk to the park!! How is everyone else up to today? Its the weekend and I am so happy cuz my hubby is off all weekend!! Alrighty, Housework time.....I will chat later! :-) |

Hello All,
So I absolutly love big ole salads with fried chicken all the toppings and honey mustard dressing!!! Until I discovered they were topping out at around 1200 calories........So I did some searching and found the Frisco salad from Bob evans only 500 calories and it contains all my favorites. My other discovery was turkey burgers, I add some seasonings and spices to groung turky make up some pattys cook them serve them on whole wheat buns with all the toppings and It feels like I am being so bad because it tastes so good. If anyone else has any good food alternatives please share!! I wont be back until Monday but that is my weigh in so I will be sure to share. Everyone: thanks for your good wishes, great welcoming, and support |

Hello and welcome to Buk, Cuzmom, Lorelei and Caroljoy. There, I think I've caught up to all the newbies and all the posts. HAPPY BELATED B-DAY GINNY! I love your updating posts. You are inadvertantly getting me psyched up with all your activities and numbers! Buk-I was pleasantly surprised to find Newan's lite Honey Mustard dressing. It is sooooo good, you'd never know it was lite. I also found in the frozen section that Tyson has grilled chicken breast strips...3 oz for 110 calories. (they also have nuggets, 5 for 200 calories). I love huge salads too and my downfall was always the cheese and dressing and meats. A trick I found was I now make my salad in a bowl with a lid. After I put the dressing on I put the lid on and shakey, shakey, shakey! The dressing goes all over! YUMMMM!!!! It's usually less than 500 calories depending on what's in there and I'm stuffed afterward. Lavin-I've had friends do that lemon flush, is it the same thing? I bet your body freaked out on you and decided to hold onto everything it could. In the end (isn't it a 10-day fast with only the concoction to drink?), you'll probably lose but only because you've starved yourself. I agree with the other girls, lots of veggies is probably a safer choice. Veggies are probably also a more long-term friendly way to go. Blue and Ell-you guys are doing great with the scale! I'm so proud of you and I bet after a couple - once a week weigh ins you'll feel less stress with the scale. Rockinmama-once a month weigh ins!?!? You are brave! ;) I'm with Blue...good for you but I'm not going for that one. Lol C'mon everyone, lets get motivated for the last third of April! I'm so excited to see if I hit my 250 goal!!!!! |

hi gang,
While I am very disappointed to report I gave in to the scale this morning I am glad to annonce that I have gone down 2 Pounds since Monday!! YEAH!!!!! that is seven total since I have started this program. Thanks for all the support and encouragement it is exactly what the doctor ordered. I also feel more determined that this is do able. My girl friend told me that she sees a difference in my face though my boyfriend says he can't tell. I am so siked and its 2 pounds.. Bu kerj- I sub turkey for every thing right down to the kids tacos. they don't know the difference and it is better for them. I also like to put lime juice on my green salads. |

mabear-I suspect you are a latina with those tamales and tacos. I do the taco thing a lot too. My husband didn't get into the turkey, I tried ground chicken. He's alright with it but I decided on very lean ground beef. The tortillas on CC seem to be fattening. We have a tortilla factory in a nearby neighborhood so we get them while they're still warm and better yet, they're only 50 calories each. So I can get maybe 3 tacos and still stay in my calories. I also make my refried beans with the juices of the beans and add some onions instead of any oils. It comes out pretty good and isn't too horrible in calories either...3 ounces comes just over 100 calories. Considering what you get out of it, that is not bad. That's all I got so far in my Mexican dishes with experimenting. Oh yeah..and limes on everything!!! YUM!!! Congrats on the 2 pounds! It's alright you didn't make the week...the important thing is you held out and ended in a good spot! We knew you could do it!!! :)
Eh, and don't worry about the boyfriend, they're the most critical besides ourselves. Mine still hasn't noticed crap and I'm 31 pounds down since November. That's alright, I love him anyway. heeheee |

| no I am not latina but my boyfriend is latino So i am doing alot of mexican cooking and to my horror I can't believe how many calories I was eating So I usually try to make my self something else. Love the tip of cooking the meat in the juice of the beans. I usually make tortillas by hand cause they are his favorite but I am trying to research and find out how many calories they are cuase I love them too. I imagine they are probably not to far off from the ones you get from tortilla factory. I always have been a great fan of limes as well they are just so much better then lemons. ;) I am thinking about switching my to cooking with can spay but I wonder if water would work as opposed to oil. Oh well gotta run gotta pick up my son from basketball practice. | ||

Oh, I meant the juices of the beans to fry the beans in, not the meat. But...now that you say it, the meat thing sounds pretty good too. Lol The bean juice is the water the beans were boiled in. Remember the onions...they keep ya from tootin' too much!
Ahhh, it feels good to be over my migraine people. I'm back to my old self. I want to go out and play today with Lil'V and make up for the last couple days. |

haha my b/f swears he was mexican in a past life. all he ever wants to eat is mexican food and so lucky me I was eating it all the time too. And now i'm huge lol. But he's learning to deal w/ me telling him no mexican food.
so i was just looking at my timesheet and by the time I leave work today, I will have already worked 40 hours! and I still have to work tomorrow! My normal schedule is for 34.5 hours a week b/c I'm in school. I told my boss I'll be coming in late tomorrow b/c I am beyond exhausted. My head is killing me and begging me to let it go to sleep. I had a really yummy adobe salad from dos coyotes for lunch but now I feel sick. I don't think it's from the salad though, just from being so tired. Definitely gonna load up on starbucks, throw in a few extra shots, and hope I make it through the night. The good thing is that I won't drink too much at my friend's bbq tonight b/c w/ me being so tired I'll be feeling the alcohol much quicker. Here's to being optimistic! lol |

Hey Everyone.... I'm back from my shopping excursion...you guys have been having a party without me today! V - Glad to see you back! Is the migraine gone?? Should I send you some really funky sunglasses from Montreal?? Ginny - As long as your making all the right food decisions, it'll all catch up to you! I promise. Of course you're going to make your goal by your 40th birthday...we're here for ya! You might not see the scale move and then all of a sudden it'll move down by 5 lbs. and you'll be doing the happy, happy, joy, joy dance! I can see you now. I'll get the music cue'd up! Blue - That's funny about the Birks. Maybe they are not destined to be on your feet. Have I told you about my Crocs?? They rock! hahahaha! I wish I wore them today for shopping excursion, I'd still be shopping! Dream - I have to tell you, when I first read "my rear end accident", I had to laugh out loud! I thought you were going to tell us that you had an accident in your pants or something to do with that area of the body. Hahahaha! Well, I'm glad to hear that you didn't get points on your license but, sad about the fine. I hope no one was seriously hurt in your rear end accident. hehehe...still laughing. bukeryj - Those big ole salads are monsters in hiding! I couldn't believe the calories in a "healthy" salad. However, I love a good chef salad. Boy for about 500 calories, you can do all kinds of stuff. I usually put lean turkey slices, one egg, 1/4 cup of shreded part-skim mozzarella cheese and all the veggies I can handle! Light dressing of course. Blue, Ell and KT - My favorite anti-scale brigade! :) Ma - It's okay that you gave in to the call of the scale (doom, doom)! At least you didn't give to a triple chocolate fudge cake. Then, you would had some explain to do...and describing....hmmm...I better get off this topic. :) Mabear and V - Try this little trick and see if they notice, do 1/2 lean ground beef (not extra lean - you need just a tiny bit of fat for flavor) and 1/2 ground turkey. I make my husband meatloaf that way and he never, ever notices! KT - When I was in college, I thought I was Mexican. Hahahaha! (I'm Korean.) My friends and I would go to Taco Bell just about everyday and each order 10 soft tacos and wash it all down with some shots of tequila! I get shivers down my spine just thinking about it now. I could NOT do that again! Janella - Welcome back! Congratulations on the weight loss! You and I started on the same day! I started at 215 and this morning I was 203.8. Yeah!!! We are on a roll. However, that means I only have 3.8 more pounds to go until I'm an unofficial, official member of the Over 200 Club. Alright, I have to share something with you guys. Today, I went out shopping for new under things. One of the bad things about losing weight, you have to usually buy those things first. It's okay to have clothes that are loose but, it's not a good thing to let the little puppies go flying all over the place and your panties are sagging in the butt! (I know bad image...) So, I go shopping and I get hungry. I go to Wendy's because, well, it either that or Burger King or Tim Horton's (American equivalent of Dunkin' Donuts). So, I see these beautiful salads and I say to myself, "Self, don't get fooled, those will have just as much calories as a burger...." So, I ordered the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich with fries and diet coke. I ate the whole sandwich but only a few of the fries, not even enough to make a small order. This was about 1 o'clock. I just got home (6 pm). I had been walking the whole entire time. So, I looked in the activity log....I burned off my entire lunch and then some! I'm sooo happy!! I mean my feet are a little sore from being on them all day but, I'm happy that I worked off lunch!!! Alright...now, I think I'm going to sit out on the porch for a little bit before it gets really dark. Check in with you guys later! Oh yea, two inches smaller in the ribcage when I went shopping for bras. I got two - two inch smaller lacy bras....hehehe... |

Hi all!
HYE- Yeah I saw all the talk of the crocs. I have the fake crocs and I do wonder if the real thing is better. Mine are really comfy for a while but I can't wear them for long stretches because they don't have enough support. I can't run around barefoot too long either. Great news that you were able to walk off your lunch! That's pretty cool. I don't mind losing my back fat at all but I wish I could keep more of my boobs. I'm afraid there won't be anything left of them by the time I get to my goal. I inherited my mom's big butt but not her ample bosom, not fair! mabear, YAY for you! That's okay that you gave in to the scale. You went down and that is great. Sure hope come Sun. morn I can say the same! I will pout big time if I don't lose at least a little. |

Hello to you too Janella. WTG on that dozen you lost! Crazy Hye over there, always cracking my butt up!!! ;) First with the rear end accident, and Chris too! Whoa, I am glad the work week is over and the weekend is here. It's supposed to be so nice this weekend...shout out to everyone down south of me for passing it along! We're in a parade tomorrow morning and I'm going to be getting in some exercise with that. Then, if all goes well I want to do the zoo on Sunday. All these big walking plans. Hmm...we'll have to see if Lil'v can keep up. |

| i love all the encouragement you guys give out! It really is wonderful... I love to see everyone making progress. It really makes me want to work really hard and get the same results and encouragement too. i put in my food log today and i was extra careful to put every bite of food in today. I also did a little switching around with my meal time and snack and i think it is going to work out better for me. i didn't get nearly as hungry today, didn't feel like overeating, and guess what? I was able to keep it under 1600 calories today. I feel really good about that. Now the goal is to keep it up. My personal target is between 1500 and 1800 calories, no more than 45 carbs per meal, and exercise every day. One day down and more to look forward to. oh year, and reaching for 10,000 steps a day. Wish me luck! | ||
