Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

v... just tell yourself you had a "highly seasoned piece of chicken" and some whole grains!

hee hee.  :) Don't worry. We all slip. Workout tonight, drink plenty of H20 today and have a healthy dinner.
#682 vcooper Mar 20 2007 16:35
I like how your mind "works"!!!!  : - )

yep already mapping out my plan of attack on working out.  Doing double duty as I didn't work out last night - bad cold (couldn't hardly breath last night) but have some drugs from the doctor and feeling somewhat better.  ELIPTICAL HERE I COME!
#683 teenwolf Mar 20 2007 16:38
srd - you may want to look for edamame too.  they are beans, super heathy and yummy (and not shady to get at a japanese grocery store). :)

v - don't stress, you have lots of time still today to work it off! ;)
#684 vcooper Mar 20 2007 16:47
thanks for the support.   I have been stuck at 142-141 for the last couple of weeks, so I figured why not..... maybe this is what I needed to get over the edge.  I have upped my calories about 150-200 hopefully getting the push I need.
#685 srd1214 Mar 20 2007 17:06
v- you have much better self-control than I do! I probably would have had 12 wings! At least you splurged without going overboard! Just get in a good workout tonight as planned :) It happens to all of us!

all these ideas for japanese! I'm psyched! I'll let you guys know what I find, or don't find!
#686 unicat Mar 20 2007 17:09
congrats jennifer on getting into your goal pants :0) awesome work :) and thanks on the dress compliment :)

v- havent decided about letting hubby see the dress or not lol..  told him last night that everyone said i should wait to let him see it that night.. lol.. he says "we're not getting married - its not your wedding dress" lol..   (for our wedding we had already been living together, we slept in the same room the night before, got dressed in the same room lol.. it was a small service, us, my oldest son, and our neice.. here in hawaii though :) ) but this is like the prom i never got to go to (had a jerk bf then lol).. and i am totally stoked about it lol.. and i have another month to lose another 10 lbs to be at my goal weight lol.. i have been averagin 9 a month, wonder if i can do it lol..
and dont worry about the wings, god its been forever since i had hot wings.. yummmm....  just eat good tonight.. maybe a light salad?? lol.. and definitely drink tons of water :) somebody come fix my elliptical for me?? i soooooooooo want to get into doing it again.. hehe that way i can watch tv AND get a workout lol...

i love an active board.. love having the great people to encourage me, and for me to help encourage and motivate :) yay :)
#687 vcooper Mar 20 2007 17:18
sr - it wasn't self control, beleive it or not that is all the wings I can eat.  I like the chips with the ranch dressing...... darn, it sure was good, but so bad......  : - )

brig - I would make him wait, tell him good things come in surprises.  My second marriage was like that we were living together close to a year - dressed in the same room and he saw my dress before (like you I kept changing my mind on my dress), it wasn't a wedding dress, but just couldn't make up my mind.  I think I sent the dress I finally decided on back like three times, just wasn't sure.  Men have it so easy!!!!

already drinking the water (which we discussed, I think yesterday)forcing myself today.
#688 lilywingz82 Mar 20 2007 17:24
All this talk about japanese is making me hungry! I loveee edamame...just have to watch out for the salt :-/  I tend to ignore that fact and wonder why I'm up a bit after japanese (has nothing to do with the teriyaki either lol..)

Way to go u and jennifer... great dress and goal pants! woohoooo!!!! So exciting!

Things here are goin well.. had a great workout this a.m. and am feeling pretty good now.. I seem to be ok all day and into the evening and then around 8-9 or so, when the end of the day is nowhere in sight yet, get the worst sweet tooth.. then I swear it's just going to be one hershey kiss lol.. one circus peanut.. one..UGh and before I know it, I havent completely sabataged myself but definately set myself back.. at that rate.. goal pants are a lonnnng way away LOL..

Hope everyone else is having a great day :-)

ok, reporting back on my first workout with the HRM.  first off, i totally love it!  but that ownzone thing is kind of annoying.  i'm definately going to have to turn off the beeping!  well, the workout i just did (mostly weights with a little cardio for an hour) i had thought burned 395 actually burned 361.  Pretty close though.  I will either do elliptical or go for a run tonight for my cardio and report back for how that looks, if anyone's interested. :)

kiigan - do you find that your heart rate is usually higher than the predicted zones (not necessarily own zone, but the usual 220-age and percentage zones)?  i find mine is and i may need to ignore the zone stuff 'cause i can carry on a conversation at 165 and my hrm (and the elliptical for that matter) act like i'm dying.  i can't imagine that i'm really in the anaerobic stage at that point since i can carry on a conversation.  i just feel like mine gets higher than most peoples.  i was wondering if that happened to you as well?
#690 kiigan Mar 20 2007 18:20
i don't really worry about the heart rate zones.  i don't really know at what point i could carry on a conversation because i don't talk :)  but i think that at around 165 i definitely could.  i usually shoot for getting myself up to around 170 at the high intensity points--which is what my personal trainer recommended. and since i think you and i are similar in stats--that'd prolly be a safe bet for you, too.  when i tried to do OwnZone--it set my target zone REALLY low (a lot lower than default).  165 isn't anaerobic anyways--that's still just cardio phase.  you have to get up to 175 or 180 i think to hit anaerobic.  if you feel like you're sweating, getting in a good workout and are relatively winded--i'd say that's good.

i'd also recommend being careful of the edamame you buy in stores (i sound so negative!--sorry).  i only say this because i bought some once...and they were pretty gross. might have just been a bad brand though.  but in the summer, i can buy fresh ones at the farmer's market and i boil them myself and they're SOOOO yummy :)

i like buffalo wings too :) *drools* with bleu cheese and some celery *drip, drip*
#691 vcooper Mar 20 2007 18:27
kiigan - they are oh so good!!!!!!!!  the KIDS as I call them here (because some are the same age as my daughter who is 25) always ask me to go, and lately I haven't been going - today I just couldn't resist.......

my personal trainer talked about the HRM, I wasn't sure if it would be good to have or not
#692 srd1214 Mar 20 2007 18:31
mmmm, those chips w/ ranch are quite tasty!!! I love wings! I haven't had them in a while b/c I know I'll eat too much! lol! Maybe one day when I've conquered my fullness signals! :)

I'll just stick with the regular old sushi then till I can find myself a decent Japanese restaurant!! :) I've at least gotten the sushi rolls before and was happy, so I will just wait to find the rest!

Lily- I know what you're talking about!! My sweet tooth is hard to conquer! It's bittersweet, cuz I have a cavity I'm putting off getting fixed so it is pretty painful to eat sweets! lol. Also, my boyfriend doesn't really eat sweets so we don't really have them around too often... it is pretty hard for me to resist my sweet tooth! If you check out my journal, last week I had a sweets binge on Friday... ugh... a frosting filled donut, a cupcake and a million pieces of bite size candy... I enjoyed every bite so luckily it didn't set me back too far, but I still felt like crap afterwards.. hopefully that won't happen again!
#693 kiigan Mar 20 2007 18:32
i really enjoy having one because i get a good idea of how hard i'm pushing myself. i can make sure that i'm getting my heart rate high enough, keep track of how long i've been working out, etc.  plus, i jsut really like having toys like that :) if you're not a gadget person, it might not be worth the investment.
#694 vcooper Mar 20 2007 19:14
kiigan

hmmmmm...... gadgets - if you only knew me!!!   lets put it this way, I got an MP3 player for Xmas - took me like  hours to figure out how to download music - probably my eight year old step daughter would have had it done in 5 minutes

lily and sr - I have a sweet tooth also, especially right after dinner.  I bought some snackwell devils choc cookies - 50 calories and allow myself one a night.  I didn't think it would curb the tooth, but has so far.
#695 lilywingz82 Mar 20 2007 19:37
Hey! I'll have to give them a try vc...Sounds good to me!  We were keeping fat free candies around but they are still so high in cals.. all my roommates loveeee sweets so pretty much if I don't fight it, i eat too much of it cuz it's always around..

I'm actually posting again right now to avoid it lol.. just found out I've got a job interview at a place I've been trying so hard to get in.. it would be the true foot in the door so to speak.. I got really excited and went right for my snack bag courtesy of the roommate... but somehow stopped from grabbing the brownie from it.. I guess I just learned that I eat when Im anxious/excited LOL..good to keep in mind I guess..

I should get back to work.. this site is really helping me though. I am sure if I didnt just jump on here I would have lost the sweets battle..think I've warded it off for now!  Thanx all for being there!
#696 kiigan Mar 20 2007 19:42
great job avoiding that brownie lily! good luck with the interview--that's really exciting.  i wish i had a good interview sometime *sigh* :)

i really like these fruit popsicles called "Real Fruit" or something like that.  i think they're no sugar added, have little chunks of fruit in them, and are 30 cals per popsicle.  they are SOOOO delicious! i really like the raspberry and strawberry ones.
#697 lilywingz82 Mar 20 2007 19:47
OOOo they sound yummy! I've been keeping these 10 cal cremecicle/fudgecicle boxes in the freezer.. theyre not bad.. the fudgcicles have 35 cals but the cremecicles only have 10!  So when Im home I try to grab that for sweets...if i binge and eat 4 in a row lol i only did 40 cals of damage! Ill have to try the fruit pieces ones though.. they sound yummy!
#698 vcooper Mar 20 2007 19:50
lily - funny I find myself doing the same thing, instead of running to grab something from the snack box - login and start typing.

good luck on the job interview.  hope it goes well.  What do you do?  I am logged in here at work, tired of working today, just want to fool around for awhile - time to go in 10 minutes anyway....

k - I have seen those in the grocery store. Need to find some new things to buy and eat.  Getting tired of the same things all the time.
#699 courtswim4life Mar 20 2007 20:16
Buffalo Wild Wings is the thing I crave most from the US.  Really good sushi is also at the top of my list!

Brigette- I really enjoyed your before and after photos!  I agree that you should not let your husband see the dress.  Wait until you've had your hair and make-up done and it takes his breath away.  You really looked gorgeous!

Ok, now for the not so good news.  I went to the grocery store today after my swim.  I had the intention of just buying what I needed for dinner and getting out of there.  But I gave in to temptation and bought a piece of flan.  I know it's bad for me but I need to know just HOW bad.  The CC was a bit confusing.  Does anyone know how many calories are in flan?  It was roughly the size of a big piece of pumpkin pie.  *ashamed*

BUT I felt so guilty that after dinner I went on a 45 minute walk and I went up every hill/stair I came across.
#700 unicat Mar 20 2007 20:22
awww thanks courts :) its been a lot of hard work, and a looong time coming... i have yoyo'd for probably between 16 - 18 years..  with my heighest weight hitting 212.. ugh...  this last year i was DETERMINED to get it off... :) almost there..  then i gotta figure out how to keep it off without losing more lol.. and gain more muscle lol...

on the dress subject - i am thinking about getting my hair lightened and highlighted.. dont know what to do to style it though since its soooo short, lol..  anyone have any ideas ?? i am open to alllllll suggestions..  and am hoping to get my makeup done at the mac counter the day of... cos i very seldom wear makeup and am definitely no expert at putting it on, lol..  i want to look TOTALLY HOT  that night :) (like a reveal from "Extreme Makeover" lol)

i have no clue about flan.. lol. i dont even know what it is.. hehe...

but you did good going for that walk :) yay :)
