I'm 21 years old. I am about to graduate college, and I have a lot of weight to lose.
5' 9" 288 right now. I am a vegetarian, I think I'll be a vegan until my graduation in May. Anyone else a vegetarian w/ a lot to lose?
My husband just looks like John Lennon... or Stephen Stills... or Paul Simon... well, really he kind of looks like if Simon and Garfunkle had a kid, and that kid would be my husband.
Anyway, Lucky, that picture is uncanny! (and you look kind of hot in that spandex, too! ^_-)
fatttyj - I am a recent vegetarian with about 80 more pounds to lose - already lost 20. It feels good to me to be meat free. My boyfriend is vegan and all the meals we make together are vegan. I also started right around the same weight.
Hey everyone else. I didn't make it to gym today to do day 3 of couch to 5k so I'm telling myself I'll go tomorrow. But after work I start a grad class and that goes until 5:30 and I hate going to the gym with the "after work crowd." There are just sooo many people there! I may need some inspiration. Tell myself to keep looking at all of you wonderful ladies who are doing it daily and kick myself in the behind! Have a good night all! Back to grind again tomorrow!
Hi ladies,
I just wanted to check in ,I believe you all should be asleep! I missed all the business today--o'well--I will have to catch up over the weekend. Saturday: Hiking Sunday: Roller Blading
Hi Ladies-
I haven't been on much (even to log calories..blehh) lately because I've taken on an extra workload for a girl in the office on maternity leave. I'm so behind.
I gotta question-----a personal one. PMS....I have it bad. I realllllllllllly struggle to exercise because the cramping is so bad and the bleeding is so heavy. I've only exercised one day this week and its Thursday. I went over on my cals by 80 last night because we ate pizza because I was just tooooo run down to cook and told hubs to stop and get what he wanted.
Is anyone else in this boat? How do you stop it? I can't go back on bc because hubs and I hope to get pregnant in the next year (when we both get down to a healtier weight). I struggle so terribly for about a week every single month. I don't know if it is hampering my weight loss or not since I've lost about 20 lbs since Jan 1. but I feel like it is.
Any advice?
feddiechick - Yeah, people say he looks like Superman or Clark Kent ALL the time. I've always had a thing for guys who look like Clark Kent, so I fell for him instantly. I still can't believe he picked me, too!
John Lennon and Paul Simon were both REALLY hot, so you're lucky to have a husband that looks like one of them!
I am amazed that I looked that good in my costume. It's hard to believe that if I lost 30 lbs, I would look like that again! I actually made the costume, because I couldn't find an accurate one that I liked. You should see the red patent leather stiletto boots that go with it!!!
Watchme...interesting that you brought up a bike, because I have had this thing in my head for a few months already that I'm gonna get one closer to summer, I just mentioned it to my brother at the beginning of the week that I'm getting one, but I'll see closer to the time if I can afford one, cos as sonini mentioned I want to get a good one from a bike store and not just a general store.
Also, over 80 cals WILL NOT kill you! It can't be hampering you that bad. If you're that worried about it, then eat 80 cals LESS on a regular day.
If you're feeling that sick, try drinking cramp bark (never had it, but read about it in a magazine) or raspberry leaf tea. Both of these things help with the symptoms of a woman's Moon Time.
Lucky - I can't believe you made that costume! How cool! I never would have known! are you a seamstress?
Good morning ladies,
Im fairly new to this whole thing and Im glad there are others out there that are around the same age and have about the same to lose. Its inspiring. I started March 1st at 254. Now as of this past tuesday I was down to 239. My ultimate goal is to be 140-150 but I would be happy anywhere between that and 180.
I wish you ladies the best of luck.
Jen
safa, i actually found a really good bike store here where bikes that are '06 and '07 models (originally between 350-400 bucks) are now between 250-300. i'm totally going to get one of those. my mom is guilting me about getting one saying it's an expensive investment and what if i end up not using it. she basically remembers how in the 7th and 8th grade, i rode my bike a LOT but then never used it again after that. (basically, b/c it got a flat tire and we didn't know how to replace the tire but also, the bikes were crappy ones that were probably 60 bucks max from some general store like a toys r us or a walmart, not from a bike store). those bikes are STILL sitting in our garage in ohio. we also have to pay 50 bucks a year to keep the bike on a bike rack in my highrise so that's a little annoying but whatever, it's worth it.
sonini, i live right on lake shore drive so there are tons of bike trails there. i have a friend who is incredibly fit who is moving to the city in may. she was captain of her tennis team and loves to bike. she said she might buy a bike too and that way, we could ride together. there are also some free tennis courts around here that we can use to practice so i'm looking forward to doing that and considering tennis lessons to brush up.
Hi ladies.
I'm soooo blah today! I've gained 5lbs since Tuesday. WTF?! I'm pretty sure that's not even possible (since I've had over a 1000 calorie deficit each day).. so it's probably just water. But still, it is sooo depressing! I wanted so badly to be in the 270's this weekend and I really thought it was possible... now, not so much.
The boy's been working out to bulk up...mmmmm.... I'm going to be so upset if he's all muscle-y and gorgeous and I still look the same. Dammit!
Today is going to be such a bad day. I feel like not eating at all but I know I can't. I know what I probably need to do is eat more since I seem to lose more on 2400 cals, but I'm currently eating 1700-1800. Ugh.
I just needed to vent.
lucky - hello superman!! lol. Does he have a brother??? ;)
I've been on vaca for just over a week now and I've managed to lose 2 pounds... making me 181! Woohoo! That's even with all the period bloat and a couple not so healthy meals. We were in chicago for a few days and I walked my ass off. Watchme: I would have tried to get together with you but we had a no-room schedule. It was a blast though!
sonini: I bet those pounds will off soon. Sometimes our bodies just need a little time to readjust. :)
Hope you're all having a great day! It's sunny and beautiful here in Blommington today. I head home on Saturday, so I look forward to being a regular on this place again! Hugs to all!!!
Hello Ladies!
My name is Tearra and I am new to this. I was reading around on all of the posts and it is so wonderful to see people that are in the same category as me. I kept seeing all of these "I'm 5'10 and 100 pounds soaking wet" and was really getting discouraged. I currently weigh 220 and am looking to be about 150 to 160. I just started changing my eating habits, exercising, and drinking a lot more water about 2 weeks ago, and I have had so much more energy and I have had to pee A LOT! I am so excited to lose some weight and finally feel good about myself again!
Welcome tearra....good luck on loosing weight and feeling good about yourself.
Myself I changed what I was eating and started drinking alot more water myself and am glad to say I have lost 3 lbs since my starting weight....GO ME!!!! Although I have not started exercising on a regular basis (walk, gym) I have been able to go outside and play with my kids in the afternoon since the weather is nice and the time change....that really helps me out.
April
Hey guys!
Wow I have not been on here for just a few days and already missed so many posts!! Welcome to all the new girls and congrats to everyone who's been healthier as a result of CC!
Just wanted to chime in about the weighing in. At first I would obsess over weighing every single day but all the fluctuation would discourage me and set of a cycle of binging, feeling bad, binging because I felt bad......... we've all been there. So I took my scale to my mom's house and only weigh myself when I happen to be over there, which could be up to three weeks and that is much better. I am finding that when I don't focus on the weight I still eat healthy and feel good minus the stress part. I am sure that I am lighter than my countdown ticker says because I can definitely feel it in my clothes but I guess I'll update it when I get to it no pressure!!!
I haven't had too much of a chance to be online because we are so busy at work. I don't know if I had mentioned it before but I work helping people w/ quiting smoking and was kind of shocked after reading that one of the number one reasons that women won't stop smoking is fear of gaining weight. What! We would rather ravage our bodies and potentially get cancer and many other horrible diseases but hey as long as we aren't fat!?!?!?!? What does this tell us about the way we are taught to look at our bodies ladies? So what about ya'll, if you were given the option of being your perfect size tomorow 0 work involved and could still eat crap BUT that would come w/ a 50/50 chance of developing cancer would you take it?? Be honest because when peopel smoke in order not to gain weight they are basically saying yes to that question.
Ok enough of me ranting hope to hear everyones opinions! Have a great day y'all.
interesting question, but for me, no way! I'd rather work and be the perfect size in a year or two rather than wake up tomorrow with a higher chance of cancer! I guess I'd rather live a few more years fat and happy and alive rather than suffer from cancer. And who is the say what the perfect size is, anyway? For me, I have no idea what my perfect size is, but I'm confident I'll know when I get there!
still, interesting topic. I'm curious to see what others say!
same here, long road is fine. although, i want to know what skinny feels like even for just one day!!
i'm eating 1700-1800 calories and doing 8 hours of dance a week.... we've all talked about how only 3-4 of those hours are intense. why oh why am i still stuck? *tear*
gonna start lifting weights. don't do any weights really.
feddie - I'm an amateur seamstress. I can make basic items of clothing (dresses, skirts, costumes), but I can't do anything particularly fancy. I can also do alterations on most things. The costume consisted of a leotard that I bought and put the symbol on, and a skirt I made out of a sparkly, shiny, synthetic fabric. I also made a cape out of the same fabric. The boots were store bought. I also crochet scarfs, bags, hats, and other things.
sonini - Yes, he does have a brother, but his brother is 14, LOL!
yessica - umm... Yes, I would probably take the cancer chance. I really want to be in shape! I'm a gambler, what can I say? If it was a real choice, I'd really have to think about it before picking one or the other.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
