Clean Eating Challenge

Quote  |  Reply
Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me??

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

Dee

********************************************* ***

Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules:
(let me know if I missed you)

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding.

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

yaya thanx for the restart great idea zI needed it I've been a real ahole with the eating this week hopefully I'll be back on track
Hey since the re-bolding, no one's cheated!!! yay for us!!!!! I guess it's helping!!!!!!!!!!

Day two in the bag for me!!! yay me!!!! I hope to see more of these extra lbs gone tomorrow too, and can't wait to be at my lowest that I was at a few weeks ago.

cerhiunnhn- a 5 day fast! ouch! is that like no eating at all? That's gonna be a tough one if it is. Good luck.

mabear-  yep, get those workouts in. with clean eating plus exercise, that weight'll melt off ya good!

jlomiller- I'll add you, welcome!!! Just check in once a week at least & let me know if you need a re-start or want to be removed from the challenge. Good luck!!! & happy bday to your daddy! (ooh, double presents for him, lucky!)

getfit - you know the first 90 days I was practically flawless, no cravings or nothing. & when I created this challenge I think was when the cravings & stuff were starting to get a hold of me. (So Jan 25 - April 30, or just before April 30).
I was so motivated to just get this weight off at the beginning. Nothing could stop me. Now I'm refocussed & have the same drive I had at the beginning. & with just over 15 lbs to go till goal, I think I'll stay focussed for the long haul now. (does that help?)

foxymama- you're welcome. I think we all needed a clean eating boost & now let's see how we all do!

Dee
Dee-- I love the idea of rebolding too.  I've been on a long-term business trip away from home for six months...just got home today so I think it's perfect to look at it as a new start since  I'll have to recreate all of the good habits I developed there.  Thanks!
2 days back in! Tully
yea. thanks dee. you're doing great!
It -was- a juice and water fast, so I would still be getting some calories from the juices, but I had to stop early because I found out what I needed to know.  And I got sick from low blood sugar, so as of this morning I am back to eating healthy.  And I won't be fasting again any time soon because while it can be helpful for most people, it is not good for my body.

Mmmm, yogurt and fruit, I gotta say!! :)
Day 3 underway & not even an inkling of wanting to stray off my planned meals! yay! I'm so back in this & can't wait to get the rest of these few lbs off & more!

18lifetogo- wow, that is a long business trip! Welcome home, must feel great. I'm sure you'll just keep doing great like you have been!

tully- woo hoo for 2 days! yay!

getfit- yw!

cerhiunnhn- I'm glad you're eating real food. Were you just trying a cleanse or seomthing? I'm not sure I could fast. ANyway if it was for a cleanse, I think you can get that done in in the "back door" lol!!

Have a great weekend all - let's see how many of us can stay clean!

Dee
Bummer!  I just went grocery shopping for the first time back here at home and got a little sticker shock. For the past couple of months, I'd been consistently spending $50/week on groceries.  But the cost of living is quite a bit higher here so the same amount of food cost $100!!  Ouch.  Now I remember why I always stayed away from buying fresh fruits and veggies...but alas....it's worth it!
Day 3 DONE!!! Yay! Still clean & lovin' it!!!! Can't wait to read the scale tomorrow :)

18lifetogo- wow! that's quite a bit higher isnt' it? where do you live now? & yes, so worth it, you are doing awesome!

Dee
It was actually something I was doing to monitor my ability to fast.  I've  been wanting to do it for spiritual purposes, but if I can't fast for more than one day without detrimental effects on my health, I'll have to find something else than fasting.

By the way dee I have to say you are looking amazing.  You are totally my inspiration.  So many people in this challenge are looking soooooo good :)  I just sprained my ankle, but I'm still exercising with you guys as my motivation.

18lifetogo - yeah they're more expensive, but like you said, worth it.  Plus, it may even last you longer because fruits and veggies help you feel more full, and your body won't be begging for nutrients because you'll be giving it all it needs!!  Good choice!!
Day 4 clean eating underway!yay! I feel great! Down to 148 now, just 0.6 lb away from my lowest 2 weeks ago. Can't wait to get back there & beyond.

cerhiunnhn- Oh I see. Ya, I think a good idea to replace fasting for spritual reasons is to give up something for that time instead. I'm not catholic, but I think they kind of do that for Lent, give up something. Just an idea.
& thanks girl! I'm feeling great & glad to be back on track, only 13 more lbs to go!!! It really is motivating to be able to see so many people doing the work & lsing the weight, I lvoe it!

D
i'm still clean just thought i'd let ya know
just check in. still clean:)
whee! still doing good!! and i think im finally losing again (finally!!!)
ya for us still clean!!!!

Had to modify me eating today a bit. Instead of my last 2 meals, hubby wanted to make tacos, so I was able to have one big one instead of my last 2 meals. Man was it filling! &yummmmy!

Only now I'm really craving something sweet/chocolatey. I already had my skinny cow chocolate ice cream sandwich, and I really want one more :(  Maybe I'll have one or two of my hubby's hershey kisses. I think they're like 20 cals each or something. I'll try  not to, but 2 kisses would not be a cheat for me anyway.

Have a great night all! Way to make it through the weekend!

Dee
hi all, i just got back from a 7 day bermuda cruise ...i had more ceaser salads (dressing on the side) than you could imagine!! i tried to eat alot of the fresh fruit...mmmm..pineapple! i just want you to know on the 5th day they had an all chocolate buffet thing where everything was made of chocolate..so i scheduled a massage for that time ...and my bf went alone (hee hee). i did have a pina colada the 1st day and it was goooooood. :)
It's Monday and I am still eating clean! (eating cleanly?)  ...which wasn't a breeze exactly at the weekend because we went to the seaside for a little break.  I'm going to put my partner on a diet, he's eating too much and he knows it.  He's going to become like his dad if we don't do something about it.  His mother doesn't help, either.  Her food is so heavy with olive oil I could fry food WITHIN her food.  SHe puts so much salt in everything, farm animals come knocking at her door for licks.
My clean eating was interrupted on Saturday.  I know what the trigger was and I did stop a binge.  So....  I don't consider it cheating. I know that is what you are calling it Dee but I am seeking healing for a food disorder I have had since 8th grade.  So, I say my clean eating was interrupted.  Diet and cheating don't fit in my vocab any more.  Thanks, Lenny/Tully
I messed up this weekend, so I am out.

Keep on going everyone!
