HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

Hi again all...My Name is Lavina (Vi) and Im having a REALLY REALLY bad day....I've been doing really good on my diet and working out then I thought hmmmm maybe I should take this "Flush away" to cleanse my system out (a few people I know have been taking it and its worked for them) well I've been taking for the past two days with NO LUCK not even once.....and to top that off....I GAINED A FREAKING POUND! Any suggestions? Appreciate it very much.,..

I started c-c 2 weeks ago with my sister we are keeping each other going I am 5"4 and 248 pounds I started at 254!!! 6 pounds gone. I work full time and have 3 young kids. I have junk proofed my house and switched to whole grain breads and pasta. I am really lucky in that I work somewhere with a gym so I have been hitting it at lunch. I also love the biggest loser workout DVD and my newest discover is the activity ball. I feel like a kid again when I use it. I am glad to have found this extra support. I would love to help any one esle looking for tips, suggestions or encouragment. I am in it to win this time.
My goodness...since I last checked yesterday morning it seems there are 10 new people that I haven't said welcome to...so welcome all new guys.

Stats for yesterday, day 53...I walked for 57 minutes, drank 50 ounces and ate 2009 caloires. 

Lavina...I haven't heard of flush away so I don't know what to say...maybe flush out the flush away with a ton of water.

congrats itmy on turning down the pizza...I went to a training today and they had donuts and coffee with regular sugar and cream.  I drank my water and ate an energy bar.

ell...I am so happy for you waiting...Don't worry about the results, keep up witht the efforts and it will pay off...

cuzmom...How tall are you?  I am tall, 5'10.5"  some places tell me to eat 2400 and some tell me 1900.  I have tried to stay around 2000 because it is an even number and I can keep it in my head.  This week I have gone a few over but nothing to worry about.  I like using www.dietdetective.com. They have a calorie calculator that I type in my goal weight and activity level and that tells me how many calories I will need to eat to maintain that goal weight.  So I have stayed around 2000.

I know I did not mention each of you personally.  I hope everyone has a great night.  I normally weigh in on Sundays or Mondays but tomorrow I am going to weigh in because it is my birthday and I am turning 39.  I want to know what I weigh on that day...  I will let you know how it goes in the morning.  Stats for today, day 52 so far are all of my water, and 30 minutes of exercise.  I will tell you my calories in the morning.  Thanks for letting me post these things, makes me more accountable.     ginny

Sorry I had a typo on the total calorie thing.  It's not 2450, it's 2050.  Much different!  hahaha!!  I'm 5'6.  I did weigh this morning when I got to work and found that I had lost a pound!  I guess you have to start somewhere!  hahaha!!  I've done really well today, and after finishing supper found that I've only eaten about 1100 calories.  Not because I'm not eating, I've just had a ton of vegtables today.  I almost had a weak moment though and considered taco bell or mcdonalds on the way home!!  Fortuntely I talked myself out of it!

Had a yucky day yesterday. Down on myself for eating so much for supper.  After I figured it out though seems I didn't do that bad.  Ended up with a huge 1000 deficit.  Need to eat more protein I think so I'm not so hungry by supper time. I weigh in tomorrow and I'm definately not looking forward to it.  I don't have a problem staying away from the scale...lol  Maybe I'll start weighing in only once a month instead of every Friday.  What do you think?  Ell-bell, and blue just passed out. Somebody get them water....lol

Today I went to work, spring cleaning for my little lady.  After work I went to visit my Mom and Dad.  They live almost an hour away and I felt I was neglecting them lately.  So I went to visit and bought Mom some pink lilies...then brought her shopping for a couple of hours.  Was nice spending time with my Mom.  I miss her.

Well heres hoping and prayin' tomorrow brings me (us) a loss!
Okay, I'm going to have to quit my job so I can keep up with y'all. Don't think my hubby would appreciate that!

ellbell- I'm so proud of us for sticking with it. yay. That scale was very cute. I still have to wait till Sunday to weigh. I don't think you will have gained but we'll be here for you if you did, but you probably didn't so don't worry:)

Lavina- my only personal experience with a flush away kind of thing left me feeling like I had the flu so I stay away from them. I know some people swear by them but I have to agree with Dr. Edel (radio dr guy) on this one. He says there's absolutely no need for such a thing and just a waste of money. Don't trip about the pound though, just get back to healthy eating and you'll lose the weight.

I was so happy to find that after adding in dinner I was only at 1300 and I try for 1700 to 1800. I sure hope it wasn't because I forgot something because I had a couple squares of dark chocolate (gotta get those antioxidents you know, hee hee) to celebrate. You know I was just complaining how I never get left with extra calories at day's end so it made me happy.

good for you cuzmommy for eating the veggies. I have trouble eating them like I should. I just don't like them that much and have to force myself  to eat them most of the time. Anyone else have that trouble?

Lore - I actually add fiber to my diet, I use flaxseeds and sprinkle it in my yogurt everyday.  They say it is a way of 'flushing'.  However just adding fiber to your diet should do the trick.

Buker - I haven't seen the BL workout ... hhmm something new for me to research! Great job on junk proofing the house... I try, but I just need some Chocolate from time to time! And hitting the gym during lunch - GREAT JOB!! 

Over all my day was OK.  Training newbies at work so that is always frustrating, but worth it in the end so I can get some things off my plate =)

Calorie wise I have done pretty good today, just over 1000 and I've already had dinner.  Since I mowed the lawn today before hubby got home I told him he gets to take me to DQ as a treat!  So we should be heading there soon... need to be home in time for the new CSI thought (hee hee, I'm a CSI junkie -- I'm not the only in the group am I?)

Turtle - I was craving DQ last night.  Lucky you.

Today, I did pretty okay with my calories.  I'm a little over 1200 and my daily allotment is 1500.  It's a good thing because the past few days I've been over by about 300 calories.  If I want to hit my goal of 5 more pounds by the end April I can't have too many more bad days. 

Alright, I'm going for the evening and I'll be back tomorrow morning.  I'm going on a little spring shopping excursion for new clothes!  Yeah!! Shopping always makes me smile!


itsmy- you must have given me some power b/c i turned down pizza today too! they called me in to work today after my classes adn they ordered pizza and i didn't have any! i did go to mcdonalds on my way home tho but i only had a cheeseburger and small fries.

so i had a venti nonfat sugar free cinnamon docle latte at starbucks this morning (well all i had until 4pm) adn i looked it up tonight and it is only 160 calories! how freakin awesome is that! o im in heaven!
hi again all.  Thought I would follow the pattern and do a little confessing.  I really like the CalorieCounter. Here I thought I was doing so well today, then I ate a piece of Friendship bread.  Guess what, it was about 400 calories too much and over what I wanted to alot myself.  Since it wasn't in the listing, I had to compare it to something else and "pretend" those were the calories.  Still I ended up with 2066 calories.  That is about 400 less than yesterdays. And I thought I was making good choices yesterday! HA!  Anyway, I really enjoy your posts and it really gives me some encouragement to keep going, keep exercising, keep trying, and keep track of my calories...

Ok, so I have a question...When I started this thing a few days ago, it gave me recommended # of calories to eat each day in order to lose x amount of weight in x amount of time.  Does that mean I stay on the same calorie recommendation the whole year or whatever time frame it was??  Or, as I lose weight, do I have to decrease calories also?

aaaawww...cuzmom...that was my problem too.  THat's why I thought about how much I need to maintain my goal weight when I get there so that I do not have to decrease and decrease. 

However, it hasn't seemed to work that well.  Even with all the extra walking I did this week I only lost a half a pound.  My official 39 year old weigh in today was 246.  Oh well....I wanted it to atleast say 245 but it didn't. 

My calories for yesterday were 2132 which isn't too far over.  I did not think an extra 183 calories this week would slow me down but it did.  I will still have a deficit of over 5200 calories for the week.  Butttttttt...Today I will eat a ton of veggies and be below 2000.

yeah.....kt... on the starbucks choice.....blj...on the 400 calories less...Hye...for sticking with it and not getting dicouraged when you were over a little this week on calories....turtle.....for getting to go to the DQ....itsmy.....school will be over soon and then think of the time you might have to workout more :-).....blue....glad you were able to fit the chocolate in-yum......Rockin....glad you were able to visit your mom, mine lives 900 miles from me.....oh well......Lavina...I hope your day goes better today...Lorelei...welcome to the group....

Well, at least I was only a LITTLE disappointed. I was down 1 pound from last weigh-in but a half pound higher than my lowest on April 14th. Sure was hoping to see 210. Oh well, maybe next week.

cusmommy - I would guess that you would definitely want to decrease your calories as you loose weight.  If you play around with the weight on the allotment calculator, it will change as you change the weight.  So, I think it's important to keep on eye on it.  I plan on check it every ten pounds so that I keep loosing.

ginny - You have a deficit of 5200 calories for the week and you've only lost half a pound???  Hmmm..I wonder if your retaining water.  It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound.  Eating tons of veggies will help.  I've also started to eat oatmeal in the morning and that seems to help a lot. 

Ell- that's great about that you lost one pound!  You should not be disappointed.  A pound is a pound!
