I'm this morning seeing... dunno, gotta check... 164.8... Small victory. I feel the urge to "go" #2 so I might see a lower number. 164 is my little goal, and when I get paid I'm going to treat myself to maybe some make-up.
164 is a big deal MERELY because for the first time (maybe ever in my life), my BMI is under 29. I thought I should share that with everyone.
Hi everyone.. I did a bit better with eating today... got a little over 1300 calories and an 'A' for eating! I didnt log my eating this past week on vacation, and I dont even want to think about how many calories that must have been. I did a workout this morning, and a little sore getting going again- but hopefully I can get it going smoothly again.
Leopardrayne, congrats on 164.8! thats great!
Tomorrow will be more of a challenge for me.. We are going to a b-day party for my grandma (91 years old!) at my aunt and uncles house, about a 1.5 hour drive.. I'll probably miss my workout for the morning, and I need to be really careful about eating, especially after my recent gain.. I'm sure we will be gone most of the day. This week I will have to really push myself hard to get back on track!
o, that link I put up last night, I realize now that it was only the video with the song.. a little background makes it mean a little more- The son was born with cerebal palsy- the doctors had told the parents to put him in an institution because he would be a vegetable for life.. the parents chose to keep him home and make sure he was treated as their other children, and included him in all aspects of their family life. They eventually were able to get a computer for him to allow him to communicate (like stephen hawkins) and he went on to graduate high school and get a college degree! He asked his dad to run a marathon with him, to support a local teen who had been disabled in an accident- he wanted to show that life doesnt end with a disability. The dad, who was not a runner, decided to do it for his son. The son asked him to run more marathons, and eventually triathalons, and the dad always agreed. This father had a heart condition, and was 66 when he took part in the iron man (which is in the video) and his son was 44. What an amazing love and devotion this father has for his son! I just thought it was so inpiring..
anyway, have a great night everyone!
I ate a bit much today, and it gave me bad heartburn. I guess that's what I get for eating nothing all day and then eating 1000 Calories in a sitting. I'm going to take some heartburn medication and hope I feel better.
Leo~ Congrats on the BMI!!
Wendy~ Yay for the "A" & being back on track!!
I recently noticed that my BMI (according to calorie count) is now listing me as at a "healthy weight" and not "slightly overweight" any longer... not sure if I necessarily agree with it though. Maybe in another 10-15 lbs I will.
Do any of you take vitamins?? Just curious... I bought some the other day at WalMart because I feel like I may be missing some key nutrients in my diet. I eat out most of the time (well, pretty much every day) and I know that's not very healthy. I didn't know what to get, so I got one of those women's daily multivitamins and a bottle of the B6 vitamin (was told it helps with pms & metabolism, etc).
I saw 164.0 at one point in the day yesterday, but had a high-sodium meal and gained some water back. Not much to say about it, because I know where it comes from. I'm also just waiting to go #2 (sorry, TMI).
Thanks! I guess I'll just keep taking the women's multivitamin I got and the B6 and see if that does anything for me.
Do any of you have a Nintendo Wii and have the Wii Fit?? I just got the Wii Fit today and I love it!! My husband isn't too excited about the Wii Fit because it's too healthy for him... he prefers the shoot 'em up type games and the car games, lol. I did the Wii Fit for an hour and a half this morning and I can feel it in my legs and arms... I did the strength training section, a little aerobics, and the yoga. I really like the yoga so far. There's also a section to work on your balance and inner core strength... I've learned that my right side is much weaker and wobblier than my left, so I need to work more on that side. It also measured my BMI and I was at 23 something and it said I should aim for being 22. I'm in the normal range at least though. It says my weight is 149.5 today. I <3 Wii Fit. =)
k9stylist - I take a women's multivitamin every night. It gives me lots of energy! I take it at night because I read that its better absorbed while you sleep. I don't take anything else. Although I do drink a slimfast shake every day to give me something extra.
Hope everyone's weekend has been nice! We're getting storms......nasty,loud storms!
Momof2funykds~ I never thought of taking the vitamins at night.... hmmm, I'll have to check into that. Thanks! Where are you located? We've been getting a ton of afternoon thunderstorms lately... typical FL summers. They always just pop up out of nowhere.
Went out to dinner... just got back from the Cheesecake Factory - eeek! It's so good, but so bad at the same time. I was pretty good though, I ordered the lower calorie Weight Conscious California Cobb Salad & it was humongous! I didn't finish it all, but it was sooo good (but a $12 salad had better be good). Of course we got cheesecake... Peanut Butter Cookie Dough - one slice that we shared and it was AWESOME. Yeah, I feel like a fat cow now though. =)
hi all! Just got back from grandmas b-day party. Was a good time- got to see a few cousins I havent seen in awhile. Grandma seemed like she had fun too. I tried to eat good, and probably did ok.. I dont know if I'll log the food though- alot of homemade salads and goodies- have no idea really about how to log it all- I dont have all the recipes to enter. My hubby picked up a couple papa murphys pizzas for dinner- so I have some of that too. I'll have to be extra good tomorrow..
I have been taking the one-a-day weightsmart womens vitamin.. I mean to take it with breakfast, but usually forget and take it late morning early afternoon.. I never heard about taking at night- maybe i'll look into that. I havent had any problems or anything with it.
oo, we have the Wii fit- I picked it up about a month ago I think.. It is alot of fun, when I get a chance to use it.. The kids just love it and when I turn it on then they usually end up playing it. Have you tried many of the balance games? gosh I really suck at those.. I like trying the yoga too..
I think my kids may have broke my scale- or screwed it up somehow anyway.. I weighed at 169 this morning, and then after breakfast, shower, and cleaning up the house a bit before we left, I stepped on again and it said 179- wtf#%@!! and I know they were messing around with it in between. I havent tried it again yet since we been home- so maybe I'll go get another one tomorrow- any suggestions on a good brand or anything? This one I have I got at walmart for about $25- $30- I think it says 'Taylor' on it.
k9stylist- that dinner sounds so yummy- especially the dessert! I dont think we have any Cheesecake Factory restaurants around here- but I think I have heard of it before.
momof2funykds- been storms all weekend? Today was really strange weather here- partly cloudy with sun, and then some passing showers- would pour hard for about 10- 15minutes and then be sun again- it was weird. That happened about 3- 4 times this afternoon.
hey I'll join in the 180's club...I'm new to CC and looking for some friends and some support. I'm at 186 and hoping to be down to about 150 soon!!
Wendy~ Wow, that was quite a difference between those weights! I really like the scale we have right now... it' a Tanita. I think we bought it at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It's really nice because it has separate settings and buttons for my husband and I where are heights are already stored in and it measures are BMI and water percentage. It's all digital and seems to be very accurate, I recommend it. My body feels sore from the Wii Fit yesterday! Yes, I have played the balance games... I'm not very good at them though. I'm really bad at the soccer one, but pretty good at the downhill skiing one though. I also really like the yoga and the strength training section. I've been looking for something to get me more toned and I think the Wii Fit may help with that (and it's fun).
mom2klegirl~ Welcome!! ![]()
Welcome mom2klegirl! So what are your stats- age, height- where are you from? I just started CC a couple months ago and I love it! It is so wonderful, and the support here is great!
k9stylist, thanks for the suggestion on the scale..maybe I'll check that out.. I think later on I'll step on my wii fit and see what that says I weigh! O that soccer one I am really bad at too- I usually hit the wrong things! and the skiing, forget about it! My favorite one is the penguins where you catch the fish- I have gotten pretty good at that.. and the balance bubble is fun too, but hard. Have you tried the tightrope? That is hard too- but I did make it across once! I think the worst one for me is the one where you have to make those little balls with everyones faces drop through the holes- I am so bad at that. When I use the wii fit I try to go through all the strength and yoga, and some of the aearobic, and then do the balance games last for fun, because they seem more like 'games'.
I'm 20 years old and just had my first child almost 2 months ago now. I'm 5'8 and I'm from central Illinois the land of cows and corn lol!
I see you also have wii fit...I love that thing! I agree that the balance games are really difficult the only ones I can do are the soccer and the ski jump. Other than that I just suck! I still haven't made it across the stupid tightrope... I did succeed with the bubble once and screamed in joy lol. The ski and snowboarding ones are flippen difficult!! haha...and the meditation one yea.... my fiance is right I just can't sit still lol! He's always giving me hell because I'll try and do housework during movies well...I can't even sit still for the 3 minutes of zen thing! ARG!!
I mostly do the strength and a few yoga postures a day and on days that I do only light cardio I do the free step for 20 minutes, the 10 minute boxing and than the advanced hula hoop thing. I hate the running one! I don't have any workout clothes with pockets so i have to hold the wii mote and it just doesn't work! I end up standing still and flailing my arm to get the stupid mii to move!! Unfortunately the game has made me into a scale wh*re and now I have to break myself of weiging myself 3 times a day!
mom2klegirl- ohh, you just have a little baby still! I had my first baby at 20 too- but he is 13 now! I have 4 children now, and am not planning on anymore. Are you breastfeeding? That can help you drop the weight a bit. I nursed all of mine- even the twins. I live in Minnesota.. we took a trip to Florida a couple years ago and drove all the way through Illinois, top to bottom- I thought we were never going to get out of Illinois! The drive was soo boring- the land was so flat, farm after farm after farm, and so many semis on the road! Sorry, dont mean to bad mouth your state! We have alot of farms in Minnesota too, but also alot of lakes, hills, trees, etc. Maybe you do too, just not around the freeway..
You have the wii fit too! You can do the soccer and the ski jump eh? I am terrible at both of those. I am not too bad at the meditation one, but I have to sit with my legs crossed, but hanging off the balance board cuz I'm too damn fat ;) I agree with you about the ski and snowboarding ones. You only weigh yourself 3 times a day? Gosh, I step on that damn thing (the scale, not the wii fit) nearly everytime I walk in the bathroom! lol- so dont feel so bad!
My legs, abs, and butt are so sore from the wii fit yesterday... I used it for over 2 hrs and probably overdid it a little for the first try. Yes, I have tried the tightrope game... and I can't make it across. The jumping part always gets me. I love the bubble game, but can't seem to make it all the way through yet. I get to the part just past where the music changes and I think the crazy music throws me off... urrrgh! I'll beat it one of these days. The hula hoop one is hard for me and I don't like the running one very much either.
mom2klegirl~ I am also from the midwest (originally)... most of my life I've lived a little bit north of Green Bay, WI, so I know all about the cows and corn, lol. Got tired of the snow, so my husband and I moved to FL a few years ago. It's not too bad here, but it gets way too hot in the summer and we're far from our families. I imagine you have your hands full right now - wow, a 2 month old! Sounds like a lot of work to me (I have no kids & prefer to keep it that way - only the 4 legged kind). =)
mom2klegirl - welcome in! Always happy to see a new face! And... you're from the land of many floods too, I've noticed on the news recently. I hope you've stayed dry! I'm also 20, but babyless. My boyfriend and I have decided to wait until we're done with college and have decent jobs.
K9stylist - Keep in mind that those water-weight scales tend to be A LOT off. But only on the water part. Your regular weight and BMI should be correct, though. Good job with the Wii Fit, but two hours seems a bit much. Try for an hour tomorrow.
Now to me... Today was 164.4, which was surprising after eating 2500 Calories yesterday.
It's VERY AMAZING how being at work for five hours gives me a deficit so high! Everyday, my goal is to have a deficit of 700 - 1000. However, on days I have to work, my deficit tends to get up to 2000, if I'm not careful. I work on my feet in a restaurant during my shift (standing - light/moderate) for 5 - 10 hours at a time (depending on day or shift). So today I worked from 5:15 - 9:30, and ended up with a deficit for the day of *clears throat* 1200! And I've eaten more than I care to share today. 1600 Calories today (yesterday I had 2500 and STILL had a deficit!).
In other news, the only reason I worked today was because this girl called in - her mom is in the hospital! I didn't get to hear much about it, but basically I was "somewhat" free and came in. Wasn't terrible, but it impedes on all I have to study tonight.
Hi all! I did pretty good with eating today- ate really light. I did step on the wii fit this afternoon and it said I was 174.8- I was kind of bummed, but better than the other scale which is still reading me at 179! I then proceeded to go through the yoga, then the strength, and then most of the aerobic- I was going to try the boxing (i've only tried that one once before, and i dont think i did it right) but I couldnt find where the kids hid the nunchuks. I didnt get to the balance games because before I knew it, it had been 2 hours- just like you K9stylist! I think I have unlocked just about all the games now.. and I got scolded for gaining a couple lbs since last time- I had to put 'I ate too much' and got a lecture about moderation. *sigh* o dear!
leopardrayne..lol about your weather.. you must keep very busy at work to build up such deficits! Congrats on doing so well! Thats nice you could fill in for the other girl- hope her mom is ok. Good Luck on keeping up with your studies!
Good morning all! Did some wii fit last night, but only a half hour this time. I did mostly the yoga poses and a couple of the balance games - I beat the bubble game!!! *happy dance*
And... *drumroll* my weight this morning is 149.5! Yay, out of the 150's and just under ten pounds away from my goal! I think when I get to my goal I'm going to have to lower it some more, but we'll see when I get there. =)
I have more company coming to stay with us today until Saturday... my sister-in-law and her friend are flying down this afternoon. We're going out to dinner with them tonight and I know it's going to be a tough week for me to stay on track, so I may end up back into the 150's again... hope not though.
Wendyb - You might be sore tomorrow, like K9stylist was. I haven't tried anything remotely Wii beacause I'm a broke college student :-P
Up a few ounces, but I haven't done my doody duty so I am probably much lighter. I have been able to figure out where I may or not gain during the day. In the morning after the BM, I'm usually down to the day's weight. Salt is no longer an issue because I typically keep it beneath 2200 mg. Anything else I tend to know about beforehand (a.k.a. binge).
I should have eaten more yesterday. My deficit still ended up about 1200, but I just couldn't eat anymore! I must invest in nuts. High calorie and quick to fill people up.
Hi everyone!
leopardrayne, you are right, I am kind of sore.. I ran on my gazelle for an hour this morning too, and now my knees and quads have had it. I may try to do a little more on the wii later, but no more leg work today!
k9stylist, yay! you beat the bubble game! I got to the end once.. and then there is another, harder one! Havent gotten too far on the next one yet- those dang bees get me everytime! And look at you- 149.5! thats phenomenal! Good luck staying on track with your company- I know that would be hard for me.
If you don't feel like your cholesterol is high, no worries, right? Wrong. High cholesterol gives no warnings and could be deadly.
