Welcome momof2kt!  We are right around the same weight as well right now. I had the same problem with not eating breakfast, just wasn't hungry.  Had to have a doc wap me along the head with a two by four saying, my body needs some type of fuel.(since i'm also diabetic non insulin, and hypothyroidism), and that i would increase my chances of loosing weight better. It was one of my "ah duh" moments as i like to call them.  I do get hungry in a few hours, but i've got a snack planned out now!

pattikins--glad to hear the ekg came out alright.

lbaxley1048--don't be so hard on yourself! 2# is great loss, If your clothes fit great, use that measurement.  Heck I just got off of a long plateau where i was right in the same weight spot, had someone take my measurements, here i was loosing inches not the pounds.  So i figure my body had to catch up!  Keep up your great 'tude!

forgot to put in the last post, i weighed in today, i am officially out of the 300# class!!!!! woohooo!!!! cartwheels all around!!(if i could do one)might hurt something important...ha! anyway......  296.6!!!!! yesssss!

Next goal....275

Woohoo! Congratulations amk160! When I went from 292 to 289, I had a fit, hehe. My sister told me that weight fluctuates and that I probably didn't actually lose it, but I weighed again the next day and it was the same. I'm just happy to see -some- weight finally coming off. It feels dern good to know that it's going down, slowly and surely.
Just wanted to say congrats to you amk160. I was able to say goodbye to the 300s not too long ago and it feels great! Good job!

Congrats amk & momof2!

amk, you really made me laugh with the cartwheel thing!! I never could do one - ever - even as a kid!!!!  :)

Today I'm at 242.8 (I take any little bit I can).  SW 256 5 weeks ago.  Worried about a bit too much sodium yesterday, but compared to what I had been eating a month ago it was nothing.  And totalled it was still less than 2500mg.

Anyway, glad the scales are going south - in a good way.

I want to join!

I only started dieting last week, but I'm down six pounds as of this morning.  Yay!

Start weight (and highest I've ever weighed): 216

Current weight: 210

Goal weight: 116

116 really isn't that low considering I'm only 5'2.  For most of my life that's what I weighed, then I dated this guy for six or so years and put on 100lbs.  I made the mistake of eating how he did, and it ruined me.  He was about 5'5, 110lbs, and literally ate over 3000 calories a day and never gained weight.  So I adopted his habits, and started eating fast food and really, really bad things.

Now I'm ready to get back down, and I want to get there fast.  I'll be 30 soon, and I want to be hot and thin and enjoy turning 30 instead of hiding in my apartment with Taco Bell!

Hey Sinking!

I have been eating like my DH for 25 years - you are smart to get the weight off now.  It's easier when you're younger! Don't try to do it TOO fast, though.

Hey everyone. I'm sorry I haven't checked in in a while. I've been EXTREMELY busy and overwhelmed with school. I have been keeping up my work out regime, but my BF and I got halloween candy, and yeah.. that's pretty self-explanatory. I gained, but I'm loosing again. Holding at around 238 at the moment. I'm hoping to get to 225 by Dec.1, so we will see, haha.

Hope everyone is keeping on and staying positive, and SEEING results!

Although the numbers on the scale are evil, I'm seeing changes in my body which is a positive! So, woo hoo!

<3 Jenn

alldolledup: we are SUCH weight loss buddies at the moment, i'm 239 at the moment, but a couple of inches taller than you! hehe.  How many cals are you doing a day? (just out of interest). I let myself go up to 1600 if i need to, but aim for 1400-1500.

Good morning every one. It was Biggest Loser weigh in at work today and even though I've done terrible on my eating for the past TWO weeks, I lost another pound!! Which brings me to 270 and an official Biggest Loser weight of 6.5 lbs lost and a grand total of 10 lost according to that scale. Now, my scale at home says 266.5 which would be a total of 13.5. I like that one better! In any case, I vow to do better!

Welcome sammy & alspencer! Lots of nice folks here!

Went out to dinner last night w/DH & another couple.  Now I weigh myself & I'm up 1.8#!!!???!?!?!?

I had 2 glasses of wine + a great dinner (only 3 reasonably small bites of apple dessert), tried to make decent choices & didn't eat everything on my plate like I used to.... GRRRR.  I am truly hoping it's the gigantic increase in sodium my body experienced last night.....

Back on the wagon today!

Thought I would post an update: Current weight on Nov 10/07 - 264 pounds. Down 10 pounds. I feel really good about it. I have been sticking to counting calories about 1550 per day and being active 45 minutes most days. I really only started focusing once I read on article on getting back into the dating scene and it said if your obese be realistic men are looking for an obese women. I believe that. It was a good kick in the butt for me because I haven't dated in twelve years and I'm emotionally ready but not physically. I will reach my first goal of 250 by Dec 31, 2007.

Hi everyone!

I'm hoping some of you can share your experiences with losing a lot of weight...

I'm kind of concerned about extra skin once the weight is gone.  I joke with my husband that my boobs are going to be empty sacks of flesh once this is over but I think we both secretly dread it's going to be kind of gross...

So, have you lost a lot and had problem with extra skin?  Is it visible under your clothes?  Have you had to dress a certain way to hide it?  Or, maybe you just shrunk back into place?  I'm pretty young - 25 - so I'm hoping it will just snap back in - haha - but I'm sure this is going to be an issue eventually.

Thanks!!

Amanda

Amanda-

I worry about that too, but better to have saggy skin than skin filled with fat! :-P

With your young age, and if you don't lose TOO fast, I bet you won't have much of a problem, if any.  I am older than you, and this is something I may have to deal with.  If only I could figure out a way to have my insurance cover a tummy tuck!

I just want Everyone to know Since restarting my Diet on November 1.  I have lost 9 lbs! I am Excited! That makes it 21 lbs since I started in April.

I am lucky though because I quit Drinking Cokes 7 months ago and it was never tempting for me! I haven't taken even one little sip!

Pattikins: way to go on controlling your eating while out at dinner - i know that can be hard!

First belle: 10lbs! WOW! Congrats! that is fantastic!!!

alspencer: the bad news is, i think ANYONE who loses more than 100lbs is going to end up with loose skin.  i am dreading my inner thighs as that is where i carry a lot of weight.  i also think my tummy and breasts are going to be a mess when i am finally all done.  Arms (i hope) will be ok. But you know what?! I DONT CARE.  If i need to get a MORTGAGE to pay for surgery i will. Because i am SICK  of being fat, and when i've lost weight i am NOT putting up with a body that doesnt reflect all my hard work. I DESERVE a normal body.   Sure as hell beats being 100+ lbs overweight.

sammyd: 21lbs since april is fantastic. i think i have lost about the same amount since april as well.  i only really seriously got into calorie counting a month ago though so hopefully we can both see some faster weight loss now!

************************

ok well as for me... in the last week i have dropped not a single pound. This is despite having a deficit of around 7000 cal for the week.  I have however lost 13lbs in the last 5 weeks so i think maybe its my body having a mini plateau and just readjusting.  I'm a bit disappointed, but i'm going to up my water intake (in case its water retention) and stick to my 1500 a day, and next week (fingers crossed) i'll have lost a couple of lbs.
