Trying to lose 10 lbs. forever club

I am interested in finding others who have been struggling for a long time with losing the "last 10 lbs". .  I've been battling to lose 10 lbs for many years.  Actually, I've lost 10 in the last year but I needed to lose 20 a year ago (not just 10). 

I run, bike and swim now and have been participating in running 5k's and triathlons.  I have firmed up but would like to wear a size 8 comfortably.  I may want to go on to a size 6 next.


I think that if I had some friends with the same goals, then I would stay motivated.  Maybe we can share ideas and recipes. 

Let me know if you are out there and interested.

Tando and Ohio I enjoyed reading your posts. They were entertaining. Ohio, you were making me hungry with your Christmas goodies. I loooove Baklava too!

Tando don't feel bad about the chips, I know that's hard to do. But we all slip, the important part of that is to get up the next day and go back to what you were doing before that.

My weight is down and I am happy about it. Of course I went out for a big dinner last night and said "What the heck" and order Veal Parmigian and it came with spaghetti. I even had fried zucchini, it's an appetizer at this restaurant. I even ate a little bread. It was so good, but I am figuring the cal count had to be in the 1000's I estimated and I came to about 1700+ for the day. Not too bad. But without exercising it's isn't great either.

I still have had no time for exercise and this is no joke. I mean I really don't have the time. I either study or I can excercise. I need to choose studying. I am hating that. But I have been so busy, I haven't been snacking much like I was over the summer and being home so much.

My weight is at ,get ready for this, 123! It was actually 122 yesterday. I was ecstatic. I was only 4 lbs from goal. I am still close so if I go back to eating very little and sticking to it, I could meet goal finally. And I am not exercising, weird. When I exercise I struggle to lose anything. Of course this just could be all my muscle turning to fat, lol!

Well that is all for now...Good luck you guys. Oh, btw, I picked up snacks for halloween and this is what I chose for the kiddies. Snacksters mini packs, it' s like those 100 cal packs of Reese's puffs or chocolate mix. and one bag of animal cracker minis. No chocolate bars, so not temptation there, If I eat them I won't blow my diet. Now it will just be what the kids bring into the house that will be the issue. But since my daughter hid the candy in her room I havent went after it. Funny how it not being in the kitchen within eyesight keeps me away from it...

Tando-when I overeat I always wake up starving the next day. I start to crave more food and actually feel hungrier. That's why cheat days are a bad thing for me. I like them and can't live without them, but I have to get myself back on track and sometimes that's really hard.

Ohio- Wow! 25lbs so far! That is awesome. I think you will keep it off, you have been doing it the right way, with diet and exercise. that is the only way it trully works. Sorry to hear about the crappy thing that your ex husband did to you. I am divorced myself. I am on my 2nd marriage now. It's been 7 yrs so far this time. We have struggled already, but I want to keep it together for the girls. So I am more determined to make it work this time around.

Welll I haven't seen 122 since about 3 days ago. I am back up to 123 and slowly gaining ounces. I have been eating a little more, I can tell. I need to be more careful about that.

I exercised today! Yea! It felt great! Also I got into a pair of my smaller jeans, that I could not fit into 3 months ago at all. So I am thrilled about that. Now if I can just stay on track and not give into all those cravings.

Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. It was rainy this morning, but it is a beautiful afternoon.

I have been busy with school and the kids. My house is paying the price. I hate cleaning anyway. So it is easy for me to slack in that area.

I am keeping the calories down since I haven't been exercising regularly. I have managed to keep the scale at 123 for almost a week...Yea!

Tando- keep up the good work! You are almost there! I know its hard to stick to such a strict calorie count. Trust me! I am just glad my motivation is strong right now.

Ohio- Sodium has the same affect on me. Just a little too much and "bam!" I gain 2 lbs.

Hi Everyone!

I am super busy with school we are winding down this trimester. I have just finished my papers and we will be headed to finals soon. I go on break the 14th of Nov. and on the 15th I have a wisdom tooth extraction. ICK! but on the other hand, I won't be eating much. School starts back up on the 26th of Nov. New trimester.

I am staying under 2000 calories. Pretty close to 1300 each day. Which is great. I have been up to 1700 sometimes.

I found myself starting to let up and snack a little more lately. I always sabotage my efforts with a celebration of food. I don't want to do that. I am sticking at 123 and want to stay there a while. I feel pretty good there. I mean, I am still not "thin" but I am not "heavy" either. My pants are not tight and I like it that way!

I am running on very little sleep and really haven't been exercising. I hope to start up again regularly pretty soon. I should have little more free time soon. I always seem to think that but it never happens. Always something to do.

Good day! I was actually able to exercise today and I am meeting a friend for lunch who I hardly ever see. Then it's off to school for me.

2 presentations down and all papers are written!

I have been sticking to under 1300 and weight is at 123, so that's good!

Sounds like we are all sticking to it! That's great! Hang in there! It's worth it!
