Hello people, I think I lost a pound after my first week. Slow but steady is the best way I guess. I was thinking that 20 lbs isn't really alot of weight, but then a friend said, just imagine carrying around two 10 lb. bags of potatoes all day. Suddenly it seemed a bit more substantial. Lighter on my Feet! ~k |

I'm a brand new member..... who's struggling, to say the least. I am 5' 6" tall and just weighed in at 172. I feel horrible. So..... I start the day with oats, honey, yogurt, flax seed and blueberries.... eat raw veggies throughout the day, usually have fish or chicken for dinner.... than the trouble starts.... wine, cheese, late night munchies....... do you have the same after dinner challenge? |

Great job K! Every pound adds up!
losing_w8: I used to have the same problems. Well, I do get them, but not as often or as bad. What I do is eat about 1/2 of my calories during breakfast and lunch. Then the rest are for dinner. That way I can have a big meal and still be w.in my goal. Hope this helps! |

Hi everyone- I'm 5'4" 155 and I'm looking to loose about 20-25lbs. I just rejoined CC after a 2 year break in which i had a baby. My son is now 6 months old and I'm trying to find a good way to exercise with him in tow. We go walking at least twice a week and I go to "bootcamp" classes once a week. Hopefully I'll be able to be back to my goal body by my sister's wedding next May! |

Welcome! I too fell away and am trying to get back into the swing of things!
It feels good to be around people with similar goals and problems. Makes me feel less alone in the whole thing! |

Original Post by randomlife219: Thanks for the support! I too eat 1/2 my calories for breakfast and lunch and have the rest for dinner. This makes for quite a generous dinner. I even get to have desert. I am suprised that I am able to maintain a 500 calorie deficit. I feel I am not suffering as much as I should be! Ha just kidding. One of our clients brought in Naniamo bars and lemon squares today. There they are, sitting just outside my office door. Normally I would have eaten several, but I have decided to save those calories for dinner. So yeah, there is some pain.

5'5", 165 pounds. I want to lose about 20 pounds, but honestly, what matters more to me are inches. I counted calories and weight trained about three years ago and got down to a small size 10/big size 8 which is reasonable for my body frame, but I had only dropped about 10 pounds. I didn't really care about the number b/c I knew I was muscular and in-shape. Then I went back to school and the weight crept back on. I'm - recently - back on the working out bandwagon and trying to count calories, but it is really really hard and I need some motivation/support. |

Welcome yokyok and jerseyjen!
I've been really bad this week. It's hubby's last week home for the summer (he works at a summer camp and stays up there). So as of tonight, I will only see him Saturday nights - Sunday mornings until mid August. So of course we've been doing a lot of stuff and getting fast food. Ick. I try to be good, but it's just not fair when he's stuffing his face with a Baconator from Wendy's! *grumble* That's ok though. Cuz now that he won't be home ... I can stuff the house full of fruit and veggies! And not have evil food (aka - his food) around! So hopefully my weight loss will get better! TGIF!!! .Maria. |

Hi!! Im maite, I am 5'6'' adn 155 lb. I am trying to loose 20lb, this is my first time in CC and I am motivated. The problem is that I am one of those yo-yo dieters, AND my weight fluctuates ridiculously even in the same day so its really hard for me to continue to be motivated. The other problem that I have is that I kinda dont like to work out, I love dancing and when I am at school I constantly train with my dancing team, however, I am living in nyc for the summer and my work takes away all the time i basically have. A good advice I feel has always worked for me is to stop eating between meals. I find this incredible difficult cause i love food and snackies, however, i think that if I have a bottle of water next to me at crucial places (say, my desk, near my bed, next to the TV) then, I force myself to drink it. I have this rule, everytime you think about snacking, grab the bottle of water (next to you) and drink 3 zips.
Anyway, its great to be here, wish me luck!

Tomorrow is weight in day. Ugh. I haven't been able to work out all week because of these freakin' stitches. But I'm going to do it tonight. I want to see if I can. They are coming out Wed and I really want to work out. I just don't think I can go too hard. But something is better than nothing, right?
Hope everyone had a great 4th! .Maria. |

Hi all. Just started yesterday. This is my first time ever dieting. I'm 27, vegetarian, 5'5", 165 lbs. I've gained about 20 lbs in the last two months. This is by far the biggest I've ever been in my life. I'm thinking (hoping!) that all this sudden weight gain is from some bad medications I've been put on lately (including the Depo-Provera birth control shot - I've heard some horror stories about weight gain and the shot). I'm sort of in shock at how drastically my body has changed in such a short amount of time. Especially since I feel like I've been making healthy changes (increasing exercise, water intake, eliminating caffeine, etc.). Just a little bit frustrating! I guess my main goal is to fit back into all my clothes! I love my clothes. I miss my clothes. :( |

The weight def adds on quickly! I gained about 100 lbs in about 3 years! It's scary!
Fortunatly we are all here because we reached our "this needs to stop" point. We're here to help! .Maria. |
