CryYellCry OH NO MY NEW FRIENDS!!!!!! What have I done to myself...I got on the scales this a.m. and now I weigh 143!!!!! I have to really get it in gear this a.m. and begin this week with a BANG! I am going to work my butt off and get back to the 130's....no more cheating or parties for a LONG time for me. I knew I over did it and I have been so slack on the exercise...Now I really have my incentive back!!!! Hey maybe this is really the best thing for my "reality check". Anyway ladies have a great week and I'll keep you informed! I hope all of you weigh in with a smile!!!!!

#62 veganmamma Apr 07 2008 11:38

Canlose: you can do it!  Like you said you have got good incentive now and you are a great example of how to keep positive!!

#63 cantlose Apr 07 2008 12:07

Ouch! That might have been the smack up side the head you got canlose Cry.  I am so sorry, it is no fun to get "caught" like that, but we have all been there. erm and if I were completly honest I'd say that no doubt I'll be there again...

WE HAD SUCH A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND here! outside, walking, puttering in the yard, chasing the dogs, all made for a wonderful weekend. sigh.

Hi everyone,

Congrats to all of you who lost weight last week.  It is so encouraging to read of your successes and also to see that others slide (been there, done that!) once in a while and get back on track.  I lost 2.5 lb too.  I wish I could say it was because I was soooo goood and exercised a lot but the truth is I was sick in bed and did not eat for a couple of days!  I got back on track over the weekend, eating better and exercising.  I can't believe I am actually saying this but I missed exercising!

#66 wanttogetfit Apr 08 2008 10:13

Hi all! Well I thought I was doing really well last week-exercised everyday and stayed within my calorie zone also-got on the scale yesterday and ..... put on a half pound Undecided. After seeing that, I kinda blew it and ate about 500 calories more than I should have. But today is a new day and I will stick with this. After a month of really watching what I eat and exercising, I have only lost 3.8 pounds. Kind of discouraging, but I see others have the same experience-this helps a lot, knowing that I am not alone in failures. I guess I really shouldn't say failure-I have lost weight. Ok-positive outlook-it would be worse if I didn't loose anything! Good luck everyone

Arg, It is so hard for those of you with set backs!

But remember that YOU are in control of this and you CAN make it happen! Hang in there ladies.

#68 cantlose Apr 08 2008 21:21

Hi everybody! Well I (of course) weighed this a.m. and went back down a lb so maybe I am not LOST!!!!!!! I think I burned quite a few calories kicking my own butt for the last couple of days...LOL! Anyway just wanted to check in with my "LOSER" friends and say HI! Oh does anyone know a lower calorie satisfying chocolate ANYTHING that I can buy to get the sweet craving outta my brain??? I eat the special k meal bars but just need a treat without the almost 200 cals!Laughing

#69 alylou Apr 09 2008 00:21

Hey can, I'm so glad you bounced, much better feeling isn't it? This whole business would be so much easier if we could just shut off our emotions for the process!  At least for me...

You know, this sounds crazy, but I have actually had MORE chocolate since I started dieting!  I have gone and bought myself an expensive rich dark chocolate bar and use it as a treat when I want a reward or a pick me up.  I break off 55 calories worth and it is amazing how grand it is.

At first I had a bar from Christmas but since then I have restocked with some really good stuff. Mmmmmm

#70 cantlose Apr 09 2008 11:33

OK sure Aly tell me all about that chocolate bar thats so good but not what kind...or are you talking about just a good old Hershey bar and u just take like half of it? Let me know PLeezzze! On a very good note I weighed just now (you know EVERY a.m.) I went down another lb so I am at 140....almost back to the 130's huh?????so this a.m.'s face is..SurprisedSmileLaughing! So this does prove if you REALLY mess up one weekend if you jump right back on the counting "COW"lories bus you can get back on track......I feel so much better now and i really mean it about NO MORE parties/cookouts for awhile for me! Well I'll at least stay away from the goodies and drinks and stick to my friends and my WATER!!!!

#71 alylou Apr 09 2008 20:50

I'm sorry can! I did kinda set you up..Wink

The problem is I threw away the wrapper of the latest, but I got it at world market and it had like 75% cacao.

I know another good one was See's special dark chocolate... But I can't get those in my part of the country, so I'll have to wait until June when I'll be back on the west coast for a visit.

Amen to the parties issue... a friend's 50th is Friday-AND at a bar/restaurant! I'm doomed!! My plan is to nurse one rum and diet coke for the whole stinking evening... *sigh*

#72 cantlose Apr 10 2008 00:47

Sure Aly a rum and coke for the whole evening!!!!!....UMMM let me know how that works out for ya ok????  LOL! Unless of course that bar has VERY large glasses!! I'm just messing with you of course! I wish you luck believe me. I'm just (once again) waiting on the a.m. weigh in cause i've been going down a lb each morning!!!! I think that this could be over for a bit don't u?? Chat with u later!Innocent

#73 cantlose Apr 10 2008 14:35

UH the a.m. weigh in...up 1 lb!!!! I think I am stuck here! I'm still happy with myself at this point but am beginning to wonder if it will be 2010 before I get the results I really want!Undecided Any other suggestions or new ideas for breaking this plateau stage? I already know NO MORE COOKOUTS ok? lol.

#74 alylou Apr 10 2008 18:23

You have my sympathies can, it TTOTM for me and I always take a jump up for that. ugg.  Frankly, it should be TTOTTM for me, cause they seem to come every three months instead of once a month.  I love this aging thing.Yell

But really, a lb this way or that is part of the normal flux of things, don't you think?

can are we alone here?

where is everybody??????

#75 cantlose Apr 10 2008 19:07

Hi Aly are you still there? I just got back home. Yeah I think the going up and down is normal but I REALLY was SO excited about that 139 and just want it back and hopefully go down from there ya know??Cry

#76 veganmamma Apr 11 2008 15:04

Hiya - do you remember last week I posted:

"I got to my GW a couple of years ago on a diet (Rosemary Conley) that advocated 1200 cals per day when I was exercising 3x a week and in a moderately active job.  I got down to my GW but found it impossible to maintain and I was cold and lethargic all the time.  Since coming to CC I have learnt that this is classic sign of problems with my metabolism.  Now I have about 14lbs to lose and I don't want to make the same mistake again.  I do cardio/weights 3x a week and I walk 2 miles a day on 2 of the remaining days.   I home educate my daughter so whilst I'm not sitting on my behind all day I am active albeit at home.  I selected "light active" having received advice from the "Ask Mary" thing and in my first week on 1500 cals a day lost 2lbs.  I read somewhere else (can't trace the post now, just for the purpose!) someone was saying you should aim for 1lb a week for a healthy, sustainable weight loss.  Do you think 1500 cals a day is OK (I don't want to slow my metabolism down like last time) or is it too early to tell?"

Well, I weighed myself today (2nd week into the diet) and have stayed the same.  Should I lower my calories do you think?

#77 cantlose Apr 11 2008 16:40

I went back up to between 1400 and 1500 and now I am stuck so I am going to go back to 1100-1200 (although they say not to go below 1200 for women) if I do that about every 3 days like 1000-1100 I seem to continue losing...... so that's my goal for today! I'm going to keep it that way for the weekend and then go back up on Monday so I'll let you know what my results are. This a.m. I'm still at 141 again.......we'll see......Innocent Wish me success!

#78 veganmamma Apr 11 2008 16:43

So I could reduce to about 1200 on weekends then up to 14-1500 on weekdays??

Anyway - all success canlose!

#79 cantlose Apr 11 2008 16:47

Same to you veganmamma! We will get past this and be at the HAPPY weight before we know it!!!!!! (surely?!!!!)

#80 alylou Apr 11 2008 18:29

Amen to that canlose, that happy weight is waiting for us, and sooner, or not much later we'll be reaching it. I'm bogged down with TTOM I'm moving up not down, makes no sense unless it is water. grrr I'll never forgive Eve for that stupid apple!

We have a distraction here in our little town: Johnny Depp is in town to film a movie. Everyone is ga-ga. I plan on taking my class for a "walk"  we'll go see some of the filming.  VM, do you think I can justify that as being educational?  At least it is something other than food and persistent love handles to think about !
