| ** The 2008 5'3 Club ** -- Weigh Ins every Friday! | ||
| Jan 08 2008 21:49 | ||
Welcome to the 5'3 Club! Thanks for joining us! If you didn't manage to join during our sign ups, please wait until the next sign ups take place before you post a message here. Weigh Ins are weekly, every Friday. To Weigh In you will post a message using the following format:
Chit-Chat is fine. I hope we can all get to know one another and truly give encouragement to one another. If you have any suggestions or comments about the club, please email me and let me know. Just be sure your weigh ins are in bold so that I won't miss any! If you are weighing in at home on a day other than Friday, please wait until Friday to post your week's weigh in so that I don't miss any. There may be changes, new challenges, new games, etc. as time goes by. I will always make announcements on this thread header and in a post here, so that it will be noticed, hopefully. :-)Members - You must weigh in at least once a month to remain on the member list. If you are going on vacation or there is some reason you will not be able to weigh in for over one month, please email me and let me know. The Member List shows your starting/current/goal weights the followed by how far you are from your goal. I've broken the list into categories by weight to lose before you reach your goal. Once you reach your goal, you will be moved to the Maintenance area of the list and you may then weigh in as often or little as you'd like, just please try to keep it on Fridays.
Maintenance (I've reached my goal!) 01-10 lbs. to go |

Weigh In for 1/18 Current Weight: 165.0 I didn't do so well this week--down only .6 pounds. I guess that's still an average of a pound per week, but I really thought I did better than that.

Weigh-in for 1/18 Current weight: 263.2 lbs Well last week's depressing plateau was definitely just that time of the month. I must have been losing the whole time, the scale just refused to show it!
I hope the bolding works, I keep having trouble with it not actually being bold once I hit post, even though it's bold in the editor. |

Original Post by kat0386: Hehe, you're right. It's just frustrating to see such a teeny tiny movement, even after I'd been doing everything right this past week - eating lots of fruits and veggies, drinking lots of water, exercising, staying within my calorie limit, and so on. I will try to keep my head up though. Keep at it everyone (and I will too)! (: |

Be sure to check your stats at the top and let me know if I messed up somewhere. Congrats to everyone! You have all done so well so far this month. I'm proud of you all! I was really bad & didn't keep track of who all went down to the next lowest weight group. Our biggest losers so far this month is dannieleggett and cowpewter! Great job you two! Keep it up!
This week's question is... What do you do for inspiration and motivation? |

My answer for the QotW... I collect motivational pictures... photos of how I hope my body will look once I have reached my goal weight. I put one as my desktop background when I am working out, since my stationary bike is in the computer room and I don't have a screen saver set up. I can see it as I am doing my workout and it makes me push harder. I also listen to music as I workout, and I really love Nelly's song Heart of a Champion. There is also a YouTube video I watch when I wake up each morning that makes me workout when I don't want to... it's here. |

My answer for question of the week: This sounds really silly, and pretty shallow, but I work for a technology company (I'm a programmer), and pretty much every single one of my coworkers is a young (early 20s) geeky guy. Unfortunately, young, slender, geeky guys is exactly what turns my crank, so I'm pretty much constantly surrounded by people I find attractive. None of them find me attractive however, and I'm pretty certain it's because of my weight. So my biggest motivation is imagining myself when I've reached my goal weight, totally smoking hot, and now surrounded by adorable geeky guys who can't help but find me attractive. It's petty, but it works. I've come much farther with this motivation than I ever did with the generic "become healthier" or "don't get diabetes when I'm 30" motivations. This is really sticking with me, and I'm sure the constant visualizations of my goal help too. The generic health-type reasons really don't give you a concrete mental image of what success of your goal is. I've read that being able to (and doing so frequently) clearly imagine "success" is a huge factor in actually achieving a goal, especially a difficult long-term one. |
