I'm here! Down to 238 this week and fittin' in size 20 jeans! and they're comfy- i suppose another 10 pounds and 18's will be comfy. It's so exciting when i come down a pants size b/c it rarely happens!
For graduation on Saturday I wore slacks (20) and a button up white shirt (16). Did I mention I received my masters on Saturday? ![]()

Hello everyone I am not sure if I am doing this right but I am giving it a try! My name is Diane and I am a newbie to this site been here for a couple of weeks and still kind of confused.
When I first started my diet on November 11, 2007 was weighing in at 456 pounds and just this morning I weighed myself and I am down t 397 pounds. My first goal I set was that I wanted to loss my first 60 pounds by New Years Day! I have been over weight all of my life and I just can't continue to live life like this. My weight has prevented me from doing so many things I want to do in life and now that I am getting older it is time to take charge. I can't continue to let my weight get in my way I want to enjoy the years I have left with my family. I want to be able to play with grandchildren one day.
I am married to the most wonderful man who loves me no matter what size I am but he does get concerned over my health. I suffer with asthma and edema. My knees also were starting to give out on me and it was getting to the point that I was not able to walk any more and was looking to have knee replacement in the future. When I began my diet the doctor put me on a 1500 calorie diet and walking 10 to 15 minutes 3 times a day. When I began walking I could barely walk 10 minutes before I had to sit. I now walk about 1 1/2 miles in about 40 minutes on a daily basis. That for me is so wonderful! To think that just 2 months ago could barely walk. I use my stationary bicycle don't know how to ride a regular bike 3 times a week for about 30 minutes. My goal is to get down between 150 and 160 pounds just have not set a date because there is so much to lose. The only goal that I have set is that I want to loss another 127 pounds by my 42nd birthday which will be on July 25, 2008. For a total weight loss of 160 pounds. Which will put me right at 270 pounds which would make me so happy. When I married my husband 9 years ago that is what I weighed. I made myself a promise that if we stayed married for 10 years we would renew are wedding vows and I would love be able to use the same dress I used when we first were married. He still fits in the suit he used! My waist has gone down from 66 1/2 to 56. I have a 17 year old son his name is Alex, my husband name is Jeff, I have a Pomeranian named Bear, 3 cats Oreo, Furball, and Peaches, and Cockatiel - Molly. Oh and let me not forget the rabbit - Snuggles. I have my own personal small zoo. LOL. I am a Insurance Claims Representative for AIG.
I am so grateful to my family, friends and all of the people on here that I have had the chance to meet that have been so supportive and have given me the strength and encouragement to continue getting healthy. I would also like to commend my doctor for believing in me when I did not believe in myself and not giving up on me and giving me the push to be able to start getting healthy.
WOOT! WOOT! WOOT! WOOT! After scaring my scale into submission and ranting extra calories off for the past few days, I stepped on the scale this morning for my weekly OFFICIAL Sunday weigh-in and .... drumroll, please .... the digital dial read in happy green numers: 299! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! I am finally below the 300's!!!!! I've lost 70 pounds by counting calories and eating healthy foods!!! And I did it in just over 4 months!!! My BMI has dropped over 10 points!!! Wooo Hoooo! I'm a TWO-steppin' girl, doing the Snoopy Happy Dance!!!!

In April of 2007, I had reached my highest weight of 354 on my home scale. (It is higher on the doctor's scale by about 8-10 pounds, but the only way I can keep track of it regularly is to go by the one at home, and it is consistent.) Since April I had lost a total of 42 pounds. Then I had some problems with a medication causing me to gain weight and I put on 24 pounds. 2 weeks ago, I chose to go off of that medication and have lost 20 of those pounds. My first goal which I have been working on for what seems to be so long, is 300 pounds. I had longed for that to take place by my birthday which was in September, but it didn't happen. Now I am back on the track of losing, so I would like to see the 300 mark by February 25th, which is my husband's birthday, LOL
Hello Pam ... and welcome!!!! So, you've got 16 pounds to lose by Feb 25 (if I did my math right) .... YOU CAN DO IT!
