That's awesome vicki330! Well done! Thanks for those words of wisdom undo117: The same thing happened with me at Weight Watchers. I was 18 at the time, and 200lbs, got down to 179lbs and gained it all back, three-fold! Bah! And I agree, being a student is very sedentary.. UNLESS you speed-walk to your classes, but hey.. no one wants to look like a fool! Haha. I try and walk to school (45min walk) when the weather is pleasant. count-it-07: Kudos to you for not taking anything off limits. Nothing can be off limits for me either, or I'll just end up binging on it or something because it's "out of reach". go4gold: Oh, I'm definitely in this for the long haul.. no excuses! My school schedule is so unusual, so I don't know if I'd be able to make it for a set active chat time. jbdcmt: The plateau will pass, don't worry. Keep at it because the hard work does pay off in the long run. ---D----D---@ (turn your head to the right, it's a flower for ya! hehe )
Now for MY updates! I bought a scale yesterday at wal-mart. I weighed in today at 251.8! :D I'm down 2.2lbs from 254lbs! Tomorrow is my first day back at college, as a 2nd year student. I'm kinda nervous to go back, I hope I don't fall off the wagon for my weight loss. I know it will be difficult to eat right when I have so much work piled up on my plate. Last year is when I gained about 30lbs throughout the school year, just from being so sedentary. Wish me luck tomorrow though, I need your guys' support! <3 Jenn |

Hi everyone,
It was a good week until today. It was my godmother's birthday and she picked Red Lobster as her restaurant of choice. (Seafood - my weakness) I had oatmeal in the morning and nothing else til I lost my mind sitting at that restaurant. I know I went over my allowance for the day -- probably even my maintenance. The silver lining in this is that, while I was stuffing my face, I was actually paying attention to my body and when I felt full I stopped eating, where before I might have eaten everything on the plate. Oh well back to work tomorrow --- and at least there are no more birthdays in my family until November. :-) |

Hi everyone. Today was a bear for me emotionally and it just ended with overeating tootsie rolls, a big comfort food for me. I tracked all of it though and still managed to be under my goal calories for the day, plus I did a great workout this morning with Yoga Booty Ballet, but it was so hard to manage my mood. It has to do with stuff that's been happening for 15 years and has been very toxic to me that some days it just kicks by butt. I feel like I am out of rhythym with my own existence and getting it back feels impossible sometimes. I live alone, without any family around me, have no steady friends to speak of and I'am really, really. There I said it. I feel like the only way to be acceptable in the world is to be a normal body weight, and that is not even close to where I am right now, so all I could see today was a lot more weekends like this one. I'm on the pity pot, I know. It was just a tough weekend. I struggled with my negative thoughts and refocused them on affirmations of what I want my life to be, which helped. I figured writing this out would help too, and it has. Hope I'm not too much of a downer for anyone. Thanks. mathwiz37 I loved your post the other day about the joke. it was a little off colored but funny none the less. it sounds like you had a similar day to me of overeating for other reasons though. good job in just reorienting to tomorrow. Good job listening to your body and stopping when you were full. |

I posted this on another thread, but thought that you might enjoy it here too. My Lifestyle and My Supper Tonight Jumbo or regular shrimp, help me choose. When I log it in, it is not good news. I eat it battered and fried, not just grilled, When I hop on the scale I will not be thrilled. I ate clam chowder and chicken and pork, Then threw in the shrimp, and I feel like a dork. Corn and green beans, lots of broccoli too, I ended with sherbet - Oh what will I do? It wasn't too bad, I could have done worse, I still ate too much, it makes me curse. I need to leave fried shrimp and sherbet behind, Then I know I'll lose weight and have peace of mind. I left out the bread and potatoes too. I said to myself, "would they be good for you?" I said, "No Ma'am, they certainly won't, So all I can say to you now is Don't!" Have lean protein and veggies and fruit every day, And a serving of whole grains along the way. Eat whole grains and nuts, (and seeds are good food), So you'll be a healthier gal or dude. Drink lots of water and even green tea. I do, and it makes me a healthier me. I drink 16 glasses of water each day, And 4 of green tea, it's healthy too they say. That is my lifestyle in a nutshell, On the fattening foods, my mind doesn't dwell. I think of what's healthy to put in my mouth, I'll continue to see the scale heading south. I wish for you the very best. It's your own decision, but it's not a contest. No one can force their ways upon you, You need to decide for yourself what to do. |

| Well I know I originally said that I was trying to wait a month to weigh myself, but I broke down and just weighed myself anyway. I figure it is better to track it at least week to week anyway that way I know when thing aren't working for my body. I am down 9 pounds though! I'm sure it is probably water weight, but weight is weight! haha So now I'm all for a weekly weigh in. Haven't seen many other opinions about it so I was just wondering if there has been an outcome to it yet?? | ||

Welcome to all the new people!
Congratulations to all the weight "losers!" Hang in there to all who are having a hard time! Pam ... loved your poem. We went out to dinner for Thai food tonight (yummy) ... so I had to guesstimate at calorie amounts for my log. Even if I underestimated, I was still under my daily caloric goal, methinks. Tomorrow is Monday ... a new week! A new week to eat healthy! A new week to drink more water! A new week to eat more fiber! A new week to get up and move/exercise a little bit more. A new week to get plenty of rest, plenty of fresh air, and plenty of sunshine. A new week to get fed and filled emotionally, nutritionally and spiritually! WE CAN DO THIS! ______________________ =^..^= MOLLY (are you drinking enough water?) |

ugh....I had a bad day today, I haven't even calculated my food on the log yet! I know that I went waaaaay over my calorie intake :( lets see, today I ate: Steak Fajitas Mexican Rice 1 flour totilla and sadly like 5 minutes ago I ate almost a whole bag of fritos! :(
I feel so bloated and disappointed.
I guess all I can do is focus on the good parts of today, like only drinking water and doing my stationary bike .

Hello all!
Mathwiz - listening to your body is an awesome step. Knowing when you are full helps a lot. The good thing is, as you cut calories you'll notice that full feeling happening sooner. One way I keep from eating everything on the plate is to either share my meal with my husband or ask to have half of the meal boxed before it comes to the table. I was a little embarrassed to do that at first, but waitresses don't even blink when I ask them to do it. Pam - cute poem! alldolledup - congratulations on the weight loss. christy17pink - We all have bad days. I think the key is not to dwell on them. As long as they are the exception and not the rule it most likely won't affect your weight loss. For me the things that help are establishing a routine for exercise, not denying myself foods ( I just try to pick healthier versions), for example I only buy whole wheat low carb flour tortillas instead of the regular kind. I also try not to keep tempting foods in the house, example: instead of half gallons of ice cream or frozen yogurt I buy only single serve light ice cream treats. Ice cream is a big one for me! candycane02 - 9lbs is fantastic! I weigh myself every morning, but only officially count it once a week. While I may post it on CC more often, the one day I look at for my basic trend is Thursday. It does help keep me on track, lets me know if what I am doing is working. Welcome brinabrina77! I weigh in for the mommies losing weight Monday weigh in and was 238.8 this morning. The 230's - it's been at least 4 and a half years since I've seen them! I'm down -4.4 in two weeks and -1.6 since joining this thread. |

Hello friends!! I know sometimes when I have not been here for a few days, sometimes even just a few hours, there are so many new posts to respond to! I had been making one post & responding to everyone which makes for a LONG post...but perhaps I should respond individially. I certainly do not want to make anyone crazy. Please give me your feedback as to which you prefer...I want to be a contributor to this forum & not a pain in the a$$! Ciao...*hugs* & luv, ~Vicki |

christy17pink .... Experts say that taking a day off from dieting once a week or so can actually help us diet.... the key is to keep your eyes on TODAY, and stop beating yourself up with yesterday. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! ______________________ |
