Missing Son, Prayers Please

I'm crying as I'm typing, so please overlook all typos...I'm really not all here.

Our son, who turned 18 last month, has been missing now for 76 hours. He went to work Monday, left work and no one has heard from him nor seen him since. He wasn't having any problems with us, Sunday we all were together and had a great time. He wasn't having any problems with his girlfriend. He did have a bad day at work and we are guessing he went off on a drive too cool down, but we really don't know. He didn't say anything to anybody about where he was going. He was in a hurry to get to work that day and left his wallet home. So he has no money on him nor any access to money. We were able to get into his bank account today and there hasn't been any unusual activity in the last month. We have called everyone he knows and no one knows anything. His girlfriend has called everyone she can think of too.

This is so out of character for him. He has never done anything like this before.

The police are involved and doing all they can. Two different aerial searches were done today and tomorrow there is a ground search going on with volunteers and the police department. He has been listed as a missing person in all 50 states along with a description of his blazer. The police department made up fliers for us to put around town. The top of it says "Missing Person, Suspicious Circumstances".

This is so unreal. This is something that happens on TV, not in real life. The roller coaster of emotions is beyond imagination. The possibilities of what has happened to him and where he might be are endless. To the East of us is a canyon, to the West is desert hills. He could be anywhere. Not knowing anything is the worst.

My husband and our other children are hitting their limits too. Our home is crazy is an understatement. We have had lots of friends and family offer love and support. Meals have been brought in for three days. Our phones are ringing off the hook with well wishers and everyone wondering what they can do.

I'm sorry for going on and on, I just want to cover all the bases, but I'm sure I've missed some things.

Prayers are definitely welcome.

Mostly I'm still in shock. I'm not sure I'll be back on the site for a while. I will post as soon as we know anything.

Please everyone take care, and go hug your kids...

I tried uploading the flier but it didn't happen, I'm not sure why.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It does help to know that people care.

EDIT: I took a picture of the flier and added it to my pictures

Thank you all for your prayers and concern. I appreciate it so much.

The good and bad news is that we didn't find anything today durring our ground search. We are greatful that we didn't find a rolled car, but we are sad that we still don't know where he is. More aerial seaches have been done as well. Saturday Search and Rescue are going to cover some of the mountain area to the East of us. My husband and dad and others are going West again to cover more of that area.

The police chief has asked us to call all of his friends again to double check that no one is hidding him out. We (including the chief) can't imagin that that is what's happening, but we can't imagin anything else either. Right now anything is possible. The FBI has a profiler working on the case. We are hoping that will help us know where to look for him.

Someone (sorry I don't remember who) asked about his cell phone. Unfortinutly he doesn't have one. We sure wish he did, we may have been able to find him by now (pending he was in an area that had coverage).

Pixyz thank you for the links. I know others have looked there, but I have not had time. Thank you for making it so easy.

MC Thanks for emailing the other articals link, I had not seen it yet.

Oh, I took a picture of the flier and posted it to my profile. It is a bit fuzzy, but you can pretty much tell what it is trying to say (and I like the pictures of Chris better!).

Again thank you everyone for your prayers, hugs and thoughts. Please keep them up, I need them...We all need them!

*hugging you back*

I will definitely be praying for your son to be found quickly, and that he may be safe and unharmed.   I will also pray that the Lord will give you and your family the strength to get through this ordeal, and to give the investigators the wisdom they need to find your son.

My grandma used to say this whenever she lost something:

St. Anthony, St. Anthony

Please Come down

Something is lost

And can't be found.

God bless you and yours.  You are in my prayers.

You and your entire family are definitely in my prayers and I will also contact my WIDE group of prayer partners for their prayers.

God bless and keep you.

I am keeping hope high for your son, you and your family to be reunited soon. *praying*
Nothing yet, we are doing more ground and air searches today. Thank you for your prayers, we are feeling their comfort.

I can feel myself building emotional walls to get through this. So many people are helping out. Most of the searches are done by others who are just coming out to help. Some people have never even met us or Chris. The news has been covering the story and we are getting more attention, so that is helping.

Thank you again. I too am hoping to post good news soon.

Until then...Shannon

Shannon,

I have been out of town this weekend and as soon as I got home I couldn't wait to rush in and get on the computer so that I could see if there was any news on Chris. You have constantly been in my thoughts and prayers!!

When my daughter was a teenager (15 years old) we were going through some really difficult times and she ran away - - Days went by - I was hysterical - I couldn't eat or sleep or work - My daughter being gone was all I constantly thought about. Finally I had to go back to work but every day I would go home on my lunch and cry my eyes out and pray for God's help - One day I went home on my lunch and cried and prayed and prayed for God to help my daughter - to help me - This particular day when I was praying I asked God if he was even hearing my prayers? When my lunch was over I left to go back to work, and someone had put a flier inside my car through my slightly opened window - The flier was sitting right on the drivers seat - so that it would be the first thing I would see when I opened the door. At the top of the flier it said "God hears even the smallest prayer in the highest heights of heaven". I knew that God had that person do that so that I would know He was hearing my prayers - that even the smallest prayer or thought was going up to Him in the highest heights of heaven - and this gave me so much comfort!!

Things worked out ok - that was 42 years ago, and my daughter now has a teenage daughter.

There are a lot of people praying for Chris. A lot of prayers going up to the highest heights of heaven.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
