Selene - I can't do fast food anymore either.  I have no appetite for it. I take my son to Burger King and it doesn't even bother me.  Isn't it strange how your whole taste for food changes when you've eaten "healthy" for so long?  I even boght a Diet Pepsi the other day at WalMart and when I tasted it I almost spit it out!!!  It was awful!!!  See, the only thng I drink is WATER!  I threw the whole bottle away.

We've had some scorchers here in Pittsburgh!  95 yesterday, 92 today and the humidity is a killer!  My son has asthma and I worry about him being out in this weather.  But, he's 15 and won't stay in the house anymore. When we was younger he'd listen and stay in the house on hot days. 

I wish I'd win the lottery too and buy a winter house, like in the Bahamas or somewhere like that! :D  Even though I've noticed the winters aren't as bad as they use to be when I was a kid. Anyone notice that?

I've never seen "There's Something About Mary".  Is it a good movie?  Maybe I'll have to order it on Netflix!!  :D

hi everyone! 172.5 this morning.. i'm expecting that it will go up again after breakfast, tea, and water..*sigh* I wish body weight didnt flucuate so much!

Leopardrayne... o you are such a busy girl! What a schedule... that alone could account for sluggish bowels and memory function! I know when you dont get regular sleep it can really affect your body and mind.. I suppose if you've had much change in somethings you've been eating, that could slow your bowels too..I have found that tea helps me (i've been drinking green tea and detox tea) or maybe taking a fiber supplement? (havent tried that yet), eating yogurt everyday can help too.. or prune juice if you are constipated..  As far as memory, all I can say is get enough sleep (hard to do), and make sure you still are eating some fat- your brain needs it. I suffer from memory problems too.. it drives my husband crazy.. I'm always misplacing things, losing things.. sometimes he gets so mad about it, but it's not like I do it on purpose! I think I got that from my mom- she's the same way.  oh, and the eating schedule.. have you tried carrying small snacks with you to take like right before your class? Maybe even like a slimfast shake or something (i like slimfast- kind of satisfies my sweet tooth and curbs my hunger too)

oo, dang it, hit the wrong button! wasnt done gabbing :)  anyway.. as far as at work, I dont really know what to tell you.. maybe some bars or something you could eat real fast while you take a potty break? not ideal, but you gotta do what you gotta do.. How much more school do you have before you graduate? Maybe just keep your eyes open for better jobs if you dont like the one you have now..Wish I could be more help!

wow..seems like everyone else has steaming weather exept me! I dont think it made it to 70 yesterday! Supposed to be about 80 today though..

I love comedies, so I'll definitely get it!  I just got "Mad Money" in the mail today!   can't wait to watch it!

Just heard from my daughter. She's on vacation in NY (see, she went to visit a guy friend, who she likes alot and took her bestfriend with her).  Well, a few weeks ago she broke up with her boyfriend of 3 yrs. And someone went and told him where she is. I told her to expect it. She didn't care. Well, I guess he called her and left a voice mail on her cell how he couldn't believe she had done this to him!  They are broken up for pete's sake!  I told her she doesn't have to tell him anything. That if he can't deal with it, it's not her fault. Someone told her he's been walking around town, but I asked my son, who is down town, and he said he hasn't seen him at all. Hmmmmm  What do you all think about this?  Should she have told him before she left?  I want to know YOUR opinions.

And I guess his cousin (who is a girl), said she's going to be looking for my daughter in the clubs next weekend because she knows my daughter will be out for her 21st birthday. I told her to take her cousin with her. She can fight and she's a big girl!  So she can just look at someone and intimidate them.

momof2funykds, that sounds kind of scary! Was her ex-bf good to her? overprotective/jealous? Was their break-up mutual, or did she end it? Did things not end so well between them? If they are not together, she should not feel obligated to share anything anymore about her personal life, including who she sees or dates! Thats pretty creepy about his cousin looking out for her.. Maybe she should think about going to the police and getting an order of protection (restraining order) against them, if they dont leave her alone.. Make sure she keeps a log of dates and times of incidents (such as harrassing phone calls, threats, unwanted contact attempts, etc) so she can present a history if anything should happen.. my hubby is a cop so I learn a little about these kinds of things through him..  there are way to many nutcases out there, so tell her to be really careful and watch her back!

My schedule's not terrible. I'm used to 14-hour shifts in the summer, and I'm kind of glad to have 5 and 7 hour shifts three or four days a week.  My class schedule is Monday thru Thursday, 10 - 12, then 1:20 - 4 p.m..  Not bad.

I preplanned my meals and didn't end up hungry today.  I had breakfast, then a snack at 12, and then I ate at 2:15, then again at 5 (yay a break 'cause it was slow).  I have about 300 calories left to spare.  Probably a small bowl of pasta shortly.  I think I'll keep preplanning all my meals.  It was great not to be starving when I couldn't be, and full when I should be eating.

As for memory, I'm going to drink some extra water (no more caffeine, although that hot tea helped me out this morning) and try to get a good night's rest.

As for my fiber, I get at least 20 per day, and if it's under 20, I grab the metamucil... at that point I work for 25.  When I have 20, usually things are moving. :-)

warning... 1/2 bowl pasta causes binges.  You want a second bowl, but FULL this time.  And extra sauce.

I wish I made more money.  That way, I could afford to keep the kitchen full of food so I wouldn't be tempted to go buy something from the outside.  I had pita bread, hummus, 1 spanokipita, half a falafel patty, and green curry with brown rice.  It's not horrible, but it's not the greatest thing.  I'm sure the curry puts me over in sodium. 

If anyone's looking for movie, I recommend "Lars and the REAL Doll."  It was so touching.  My boyfriend even cried, which is amazing since he's usually a heartless jerk.  But it was a really good movie.

I'm not having hot weather either Wendy.  It's been in the 80s for awhile.  Before that, it was in the 70s and windy.

this morning the scale read 185.2 which i'm happy to see...the weather was like 100 degrees outside on both Sat and Sun so i did not go outside at all this weekend. i worked out M - F though and i started doing the calorie shifting so we'll see how my numbers look by the end of this week...

Have actually dropped a lb at last! 181 this morning - just hope it's going to start going in the right direction. Have booked myself in for a session with a trainer at my gym tonight, so fingers crossed things will start improving soon (subject to dodgy knee.)

Maybe it's a loss-week for everyone!  I'm at my new lowest number, 168.0, and my old lowest-number is 168.6.  Although it's hardly more than half a pound, I am excited.

I also reformatted my "weight chart".  On it, it shows my weight from June 1 on.  My old chart had 100's of values from January 8, 2008, and all it was doing was getting slimmer and slimmer looking.  I could not accurately see how my weight was doing at that point.  June 1, 2008's value was 171.4.  Since then, I've lost 2.6 lb, which is great because it's immediately follow the APRIL/MAY PLATEAUThis is a lot nicer to see, because the whole chart just drops.  It makes more sense to me.

It might help some of you who feel like your chart isn't helping you.

Hi all those who are/ were in the 180s.

Following the meeting with the gym trainer  today - he said that 1400 calories (which Ive been trying to stick to) is far too low, and that I need to be eating more like 2000 for my weight in order to achieve weight loss. Does this make any sense to anyone?? I was horrified at this, as I have been trying to avoid anything like this kind of calories.

(am trying to burn 600ish calories at the gym, 4 times a week)

Any feedback appreciated!!

Newlook 08 - when I was in the 180's (I'm 5'3", medium build), I went to the gym three to five days a week and set my goal for 1300 - 1500, but wouldn't beat myself up if I went over.  I think you'll be fine.  Just make sure you have a day or two in the week to eat maintenance, so you keep your metabolism strong.


I have a milk rant!  OH MY GOD.  I went to a local store for milk.  I bought a small one specifically because I wanted to drink it basically right when I left the store.  I leave the store, open it up, and am about to put it to my lips when I find it's sour.  So I come back in, and the lady says that the best she can do is exchange it for a different one.  So I did, opening it right in the store, and told her it was sour too.  She said she couldn't refund it because the manager was not there at the moment.  So I left the milk on her counter and left, having lost out on $2.00.  I ALWAYS check the expiration dates on milk before I buy them, and this was no exception.  I bought the first one, and it said June 15.  The second said June 16.  You'd think that they would be good for at least another week.  I would have to attribute it to mishandling during shipment, b/c that's how it goes.

Wendyb - My daughter and her exboyfriend broke up because she caught him in his car with another girl. She was in her car behind them and she kept beeping until he pulled over and when she confronted him he said she's a friend of his brothers girlfriend and he was riding her home. A lie!  He's texting her saying he can't believe she did this to him! Unbelievable!!!  He's acting like she cheated on him!  The nerve of this stupid guy. And believe me this is a guy who can't pass community college! He's dumb and a mama's boy!!! lol

Now, for me. I weighed in today at 183. A gain of 2 lbs in 2 days!  It can't be real weight. Anyway, it was daughters 21st birthday today and we ate good and ate junk!  I figure approximately 2000 calories worth of garbage!  On a good note, I did walk 3 miles this morning! hahaha  Like that's really going to help me now!  I'll just exercise more and watch the calories the rest of the week. Good thing I weigh in on Mondays. :D

 

leopardrayne - That's terrible that milk was sour and she couldn't give you your $2.00!  I know you were mad, to want that milk and tried twice to get one and they were both sour. You're right, it was probably sitting out in the hot sun too long somewhere. They should be more careful.

I random question.  I know I can't eat my usual 1200+ a day calories for the next week or so.  I'm stuck sipping baby food, clear broth, and mashed potatoes until my mouth heals up and it doesn't hurt to live.  I think at the most, it's going to be 1000 - 800 (baby food is only 70 calories a bottom and it hurts to eat even it).  And getting water in seems to be a struggle.

How bad do you think my metabolism will slow down?  I noticed I gained tons of waterweight in the last day.  I'm up to 181lbs this morning which made the day worse than it was.  Mouth hurts, chest hurts (allergic to the glue on the pads that monitor heart rate), legs hurt cause cat is trying to eat them, and tons of extra pounds.

Selene - Illness made me lose about 8 pounds in 4 days, and then I plateaued for a month.  But... 8 pounds in a month, no matter what time of the month it happened, was GREAT.

BTW, I'm down to 167.4.  I expect a new low weight tomorrow. I'm seeing it because of the water weight I've been holding by not drinking enough water and eating too much salt.

Hi everyone! I've been so busy, I've barely had time to log my eating! I am getting ready for a garage sale.. aiming to have it start tomorrow. And  Monday we went and picked up a couple of dressers and a desk and a patio set from my inlaws place. My father-in-law passed away this past winter Cryand we are still sorting his stuff and trying to sell his house (he was divorced and my husband has one sister who is staying at dads house right now) Anyway, after picking up the furniture, I had to rearrange our living room for the desk, and then after loading all the garage sale stuff out of my boys' room I rearranged their room with the new dresser, and then yesterday I worked with my daughter to clean out and rearrange her room. whew! I havent been on the scale as much, but yesterday I went to bed at 168 and got up this morning at 166.5! After breakfast and shower and such I was back at 168.5.. i logged my new weight as 168..  Anyway, gotta run to the store now and pick up some tables from my sister-in-law for the sale, and gosh, I cant wait until it's done! I probably wont have time to check back til next week or so.. so have a great weekend everyone!

166.6 today.  I knew it!  I'm in the cafeteria drinking water and finishing up the small piece of cake I figured I could have.

When I get below 160, I'll be excited.  I haven't seen that since early sophomore year of high school (I'm a junior in college now).  I'm putting off doing homework, and I'm getting my liquids up.  As long as I don't have to use the bathroom, I'm staying in here until 10 minutes before class starts.
