Hey everyone !!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful month !!

My current weight is 303lbs ... but I weighted in just 3 days ago at 301.9 !!!

Its TTOTM =( so im bloated ugh  So im using 301.9 as my end month weight.

Start weight 329

May 1st weight 308.1

Current weight 301.9 !!!!

Had to sneak in before another heading out for the day and great updates Korali and Tina.  BTW Tina, my TOM is month end so sometimes at 1st of the month weighin Im at my slowdown in losing but quickly afterwards Im off to an encouragng turn around to start the month.

Ive a spreadsheet to track us and its amazing to remember how New Years we said we are going to do this and than seeing those Jan weights we left behind.  Couldve quit and stayed the same or gained but we meant it and 5 months since look at us now :D :D :D!

Hi all!

I haven't checked in for a while and I have been struggling these past several months. I am doing better this month and especially this week, though. I made two major investments that I expect to kick start my progress once again. First, I signed up for 6 weeks of personal trainer sessions (I am halfway through those), and last week I bought a body bugg to more closely track my expenditure. So far I am very pleased with it as it has shown me that my prior estimates for sedentary days were way too high. Now I can download my estimated expenditure based on actual activity and much more closely track my deficits. I have had at least a 1000-calorie deficit every day since I started the body bugg program on Tuesday.

Also, next week is my last week of classes and so I will no longer have to juggle classes with my full-time job, and with the added benefit of increased daylight time I hope to be hitting the trails a lot more these upcoming months! Hiking does wonders for my weekly deficit averages since I had a 1900 calorie deficit yesterday! Not good for every day, I know, but once in a while should be fine.

Anyway, I have to actually report a gain as my current weight is 276. But that is down from 278 a couple of weeks ago and I think I am finally back on track yet again!

Current weight: 276

YAY !! Congrats everyone !!!

June 1- 200

hey all. it's another month in and here is my stats...

SW: 320 lbs.

MAY 1st: 239 lbs.

JUNE 1st: 223 lbs.

MAY LOSS: 16 lbs.

TOTAL LOSS: 97 lbs.

so i had another good month. i am officially at my lowest weight since i was about 13, so i feel awesome. another 3 pounds and i will be at 100 pounds lost. so that is too awesome. things are going good for me. just sticking with what works and very rarely straying from it. i'm pumped for the next couple months. this is all uncharted weight territory for me. feels super good.

congrats to everyone who has lost. keep up the fantastic work. we are getting there.

Wow, you guys are awesome. I'm really glad I found this site. Just really started last week and I can already tell a difference. You guys really have helped me stick to this. I usually start to flake after a few days, but your stories and strong weight loss is so inspirational, and I can't believe the amount of energy I have already.

I am an admitted fast food addict. After starting to count my calories I went online to find the nutrition facts for McDonald's, my fast food of choice, and litterally got nausea's I can't believe the amount of calories in the food I was regularly eating. So, I went just once last week and got a salad with grilled chicken and french dressing; healthy and only 330 calories for dinner.

I couldn't believe this last week I actually wasn't feeling hungry, and needed to put extra snacks into my evening to reach my calorie goal of 1500. I have to say though I goofed on my count kinda early today so I am feeling starved at the moment, but I can deal for one day. Will be paying closer attention in the future.

What are your guy's deficits? If the counter on here is right I'm having a deficit of 1400-1500 a day is that a good thing or to much? What are you guys talking about having something to watch how many calories y ou burn and how does it work?

Thanks for the advice and info. Sorry if I sound like to much of a newbie:).

Great updates and our total continues to dropping!  You make a great point renaer - its a matter of hanging in there because time pays off!  Im bad at the deficit math but hopefully someone else can weigh in.   Brett, didnt realize that youd been this weight since 13 - so this is new territory you have ahead of you as an adult as you continue to drop, good for you!

Hello all

After a disasterous plateau that wouldnt shift, it seems that I have kick started things again.

SW:329

May 1: 267

Jun 1: 259

8 Pounds- not too bad really : )

SW: 325.0      MAY 1st 298.0     Lost    27.0  punkrockriot

June 1st: 292

June Loss: 6 lbs

Total: 33.0

So May was a really slow month for me, but I knew I would start slowing down my loss after the first few months.  Now is the time for me to get more serious about what I'm doing so I can still see the results.  My goal is for 7 lbs loss this month.

good luck everyone!!!

Thats great Laura and Punk - so far losses for everybody and happy for all!  Ive got all the updates in so far.
I had a pretty good weekend again as far as exercise goes. It was perfect weather here in Chicagoland, so I started each day with a 6.5 mile walk with Spikey.

On Saturday, I wore a ribbed sleeveless shirt I had bought a couple weeks back. Oh my goodness, was it wonderful! I haven't worn sleeveless shirts since I was a child! So I decided I needed to buy some more, so I biked off to the Lane Bryant, about 3 miles away. Unfortunately, I got turned around while trying to ride back and went way, way north before realizing I had to turn around. So I managed to take that what should have been a 6 mile round trip ride and turned it into a 7 or 8 mile ride. At least I was burning cals!

Then I went shopping with my partner and put on another 4.5 miles on the pedometer!

Then on Sunday, after our long walk, I took a shower and woke up my partner so we could go to the zoo! I wound up adding another 5 miles onto my pedometer from all that walking! And it was good I had already burned off some energy so Mike only had to slow me down a time or two (if I see empty space ahead of me, I start picking up my pace). The great thing is I think this is the first time he has ever put 10000 steps on his pedometer. So my evil goal is to take him interesting places that require walking in order to see things!

Hey aovermy, didn't realize you were in IL I'm down in Peoria, IL. The amount of miles you didis incredible. I'm a fast walker and only put in about 2 miles a day. I need to step it up! What do you average on time I can usually walk about 2 miles in 40 min., depending on whether I see something pretty or not :) . Keep up the good work, your incredible!

Hi All,

I am new to the group and the website.  Just to tell you alittle about me I am Tonya, I am 35 yrs old and live in a small town called Medford, Oregon, I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio and I have been on this journey of losing for the last 23 months.

SW:  576

CW: 464

This looks like a lovely group and I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

I just had to let you all know I'm impressed by all of your hard work and wish each and every one of you the strength to keep it up!

renaer14,

Yep, I'm up here in Chicagoland. I usually walk the 6.5 mile walk in 2 hours and 15-30 minutes depending on our pace and how many stop lights and/or how much traffic we get stopped by. I've extended this walk many, many times. Every time our speed has us finishing it in 2 hours flat, I extend the walk another few blocks.

I'm originally from Mattoon, IL, so I do have the perspective of realizing that there is something called central IL and that it is separate and distinct from southern IL and western IL, unlike most Chicagoans who refer to it all as downstate!

I also walk and bike a lot in southeastern Iowa, because my partner and I own a house there that we use for vacations and weekends. It's better for biking due to the rural nature of the area, lots of not very heavily traveled county high ways.

When I first started walking back in Feb 2007, I did it for 1/2 hour and was exhausted. It was maybe 2.0 mph, and barely covered 6 or 7 blocks. We've just been extending it ever since. Spikey is my best friend in my weight loss journey, because even if I'm thinking about skipping the walk, I look at her and feel guilty for depriving her of one of her favorite things and off we go.
