I'd like to start this thread specifically for women who are 50 or over.
As a 53 year-old woman, myself, I am finding new challenges, unexpected difficulties and wonderful insights on my path to getting to and maintaining my health, weight and body shape.
What seemed to work for me as little as five years ago doesn't work quite the same anymore. My body doesn't seem to respond to what I consider healthy eating habits and good workout schedules as it even in my middle to late 40s'.
SO, I am would to hear from those out there who are finding themselves in situations. OR NOT, maybe you can enlighten the rest of us as to how you keep your shape, or how you're getting into better shape and a healthier overall lifestyle.
Hopefully this will be the start of something wonderful, educational, funny-offer up jokes anecdotes, whatever!
LET'S GET STARTED!
Reason: Moved from Health & Support to Motivation forum
Hello all, I haven't written in a while. I've been ignoring CC and not paying attention to what I've been eating, with predictable results.
A few weeks of being busy, careless, a weekend of baking and entertaining and bam—the scale is back where it was in December, when I joined CC. I didn’t say I was back where I was, because I am stronger, more educated, and maybe smarter. But the scale!!!
I made another change lately—I decided to work out with heavy weights. It exhausts me and maybe makes me hungry and probably builds muscle, which moves the scale up. However, the muscle gain-weight gain link is messed up by the chocolate-chip cookies I baked and devoured.
This week, I’ll log and continue my exercise plan including 2 half hour sessions with weights. If the scale goes down and I’m feeling good, great. If not, I need to reevaluate.
This is what I get for forgetting CC and the wonderful, supportive friends here. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.
ohio- I'm coming to your house.. buttermilk cinnamon rolls ohhh they sound yummy and I could live on fruit! I'm drinking my morning coffee right now and I want one of your cinnamon rolls!! LOL![]()
bex- sorry to hear they don't have an answer for you about the PVC's. I'm a big person for getting another opinion - I'd try another Dr.! I just don't trust any of them, in this day and age when they all seem overwhelmed with patients ... Thanks for your compliments on the landscaping and my girls - I do think they're beautiful if I must say so myself! LOL I love yard-work! Every year I add something outside! My poor hubby has to do all the digging though as I have chronic tendonitis in my elbow. Oh well it's exercise for him too! We are finishing the planting today so tomorrow hopefully I'll have a pic in my gallery.
phox - nice to see you back. It's sad how it takes 6months to lose weight and then you can put it on practically overnight! I hear you and I've been there too! I try to lift heavy when I am lifting.. started out with low weights and more reps but have graduated to less reps and more weight. I don't know if it's helping the weight loss but I am a lot stronger!
I haven't been on the scale this weekend - picnics, cosmopolitans, ice cream....- hopefully the golf and yard-work are negating all the effects of less than A+ choices LOL Oh well we all have to enjoy life too.
Hopefully I'll get back on track this week. Today we are playing 9 holes of golf with friends , then coming home to get the landscape planting done before my hubby goes back to work Monday!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend !!
Good Morning Everyone!
I weighed 188.6 lbs this morning! I stayed 190.8 for about a week and so I only had a drop of one pound at my last official weigh in. But yesterday (one day after the weigh in day) the scale started going down again and showed 190.0. This morning I've dropped another 1.4 lbs.
You know the funny thing is that I can feel it when my body is doing this. I actually felt thinner the night before. I have these new Capri pants that are a size 16 (a size down from my usual 18). When I bought them they were tight in the hips but I knew I was loosing so I bought them anyway.
Well, I put these pants on yesterday morning. They felt "just right." This was when I had just weighed in at 190. Then last night when we went out, I noticed they seemed a lot looser on me and it didn't feel like they were just stretching either. So I decided to go by Walmart where I bought them. I wanted to try on the same pants in a size smaller. I was shocked. I could get the 14's on and they fit tight but only slightly tighter than the 16's did when I bought them. I considered buying the 14's but didn't because I'm trying to budget the money carefully.
Anyway, I wasn't that surprised when I got up this morning and found that scale was finally reading lower. YEAH!![]()
Ohio - All that cooking sounds wonderful. But too tempting for me right now. Maybe when I've lost another 10 lbs I can splurge once in a while. ![]()
Rebbex - My first wake up call about my weight and my health was a trip to the ER about a year and a half ago. I was having the PVC's like crazy, skipping beats, pounding beats, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It was all pretty scary and one night I thought I was having a heart attack. The EKG the paramedics took on me was pretty scary, too.
The ER told me to go to a heart specialist and get a stress test done. I thought a stress test was a good idea so I scheduled an appointment with a family practice doctor I knew could oder one. But he wanted me to have a nuclear stress test done (happened to have the machine in his office $$$). NO Thank-you! I read the fine print and one of the many risks to this test is a stroke and I personally know someone who had a stroke as a result of getting a nuclear stress test done.
I wanted another opinion. So I went to see another doctor. But I had to wait 2 weeks before I could get in. So in the mean time, I radically changed my diet, added exercise and started taking a ton of supplements. I took daily blood pressure readings and logged everything I ate and did. By the time I got in to see the doctor, I was feeling a lot better. I handed him a print out of everything I had been taking and my daily logs.
He was very impressed that I was taking charge of the situation. He told me I was on the right track, listened to my heart and could barely hear any variance. I wasn't surprised because I felt great by this time. I knew what I was doing was working. He was very supportive and told me that he hates prescribing drugs when people can improve their health so much with nutrition and exercise.
I got the information I needed about the supplements I needed from a book called "Why Animals Don't Get Heart Attacks... But People Do!" by Dr. Mattias Rath, M.D. I highly recommend this book! He isn't selling anything. The supplements needed can be bought anywhere. In fact, I did a little background check on this doctor and was very impressed with him. I know that following his supplement plan was part of what turned things around for me.
Oh, and I am personally apposed to artificial hormones. I totally believe in treating menopause naturally. I know occasionally medicine is necessary but in my IMO, most of the time we can take care of menopause naturally. But just like loosing weight the right way, it takes knowledge of how to do it right and discipline to do it.
Okay, I'll get off my soapbox. But I do recommend the book.
phox50 - Welcome back! It's great that you are lifting weights. But I'd like to pass on some valuable information I just learned about gaining muscle. You NEED protein! This is especially true right before and/or right after working out. Your body craves protein to build muscle and it can't build muscle without it. That is probably why you are so hungry after working out. Your body is telling you that it needs protein. Without it, you might go into starvation mode.
I recommend you get a good protein powder. I use a whey powder that has 100 cal per scoop but 18 grams of protein. I mix it with orange juice and drink it right before I go walking. I've noticed a big boost in my energy. I'm trying to get 90 - 100 grams of protein a day now.
Well, I gotta go. Have a great day.
~ Beth
I did not get to read through all the replies here so if there is an answer to my question please steer me to the post. Does anyone notice an increase in fatigue?
And what you say about things not working for me that used to work just a few years ago is so true. It is hard to shed the weight after 50! At least for me. Are there any meds or tips to improve the odds? Or do we just have to work harder at it? Has anyone used Hoodia? Am not really into those diet pill crazes but that one sounded like a pretty safe herb. Anyone have luck with it?
Going through menopause is making me want to lose the weight even more to improve how I feel and how I feel about my body. I welcome the changes, but want to grasp control of the weight issue even more now.
knit, i know exactly what you mean. even though you don't really know us, you know we're all here & rooting for you. we all have our good days & bad days too, and yes!!! mowing is great exercise. hubby mows here. he needs the exercise anyway. :D
i knit terribly. LOL sometimes i try again though. i used to knit when i was young, but only scarves.
southern, you are doing awesome! :D i wish i could help you with the arm flab, but nope. i still have it. i want to get down to 134 1st & then work on it. i don't use my weights nearly as much as i should.
bonton, i did great on the 4th, but i did really bad yesterday. i'm keeping my walking up though. i love seeing those magazines at the checkout. i don't buy them though.
ohio, lol tell me about it! there's always lots of junk food around here. the newest thing is we have tons of cake here now from the 2 showers.
your food sure sounds good! :D
rebbex, at least your tests came out good. i hope everything works out! walking really will help you with that weight loss though & you will have more energy.
phox, no biggie! lol sometimes we all need a break. someday we'll all be off from here anyway, i guess. wouldn't it be awesome to not come on CC and still weigh the same or even lose?! :D
maryann, if you are getting too tired, maybe you need a break or are not eating enough. exercise will increase your energy, but you will need to eat more because it also raises your metabolism & you burn more calories. i never used any pills. i just ate less, ate better & started walking.
Beth--Thanks so much for the advice to eat more protein. I looked back at my food reports (so easy to do on CC) and found I eat between 60 and 80 grams of protein a day. I had never paid any attention to those numbers. I will try to up the protein and see what happens.
I logged home made potato salad and was stunned to discovered it is 350 calories a cup. I guess I can't count it as a vegetable!
Enjoy the weekend everyone.
Hey, how addicted am I? I just walked in, unloaded the bags from our trip to the mountains, and read all I missed. Sounds like our group trend is continuing in the right direction, with an understandable blip (Phox) here and there. I agree with Snow: no biggie. Just jump back on the horse and try again.
I fear I might have succumbed to Ohio's holiday cooking/eating spirit, as I did not pay much attention to anything healthy when we were at the cabin. I was in charge of appetizers for a big party, and I made smoked fish spread, onion dip, cucumber dip, and minted melon balls with lime cream dip. At least I thought to cut up veggies for the dips, and not just crackers. Then, I got this horrible throat ache (still have it), and started downing "medicinal" hot toddies. God knows how that's going to hit the scale. Anyone know any good cure for throat ache/pain besides gargling with salt water (which is vile, but I did it anyway).
There was a fabulous fireworks show over the lake. I think about twenty five thousand people from nearby counties came to watch. Picnickers and families wall to wall on the beach. I got up early and put some big tarps down secured by rocks, so our group had a prime viewing location. My camera battery died, so you'll have to take my word, but the pyrotechnics literally took my breath away. Oh, wait, maybe that's why my throat hurts?
Beth: a million kudos on breaking that 190 barrier.
Bex: a friend of mine suffered that PCV issue, and I'm sending good rhythmic vibes your way.
Bonnie: congrats on your red white and blue win. My boys weren't with us for the holiday either, but might join me to go see my folks later this summer. When, if ever, do they stop being "kids" in your head?
phox - Years ago I did a lot of weights along with cardio, and the main rule I went by was, eat carbs (like pasta, rice, etc.) before working out, and eat protein afterwards. The carbs give you energy so you don't burn up muscle while you're lifting. When you lift weights, tiny bits of your muscles are actually torn down, then are rebuilt, so it's good to have protein afterwards for that. Hope this helps,
knitthruit
Good morning everyone! We finished up the landscape project yesterday!! Thought it would be easier than the first part, but the ground was full of rocks
I took what little soil there was and mixed it with some peat moss so the plants would have better growing conditions! I posted the pics in my gallery. The flower bed you see I added about 3 years ago so everything in it has really grown! My yucca's are beautiful this year as are the pink cone flowers. It all looks quite nice if I must say so myself!![]()
robbieLOL about the kids thing - at my family reunion one of my brother's grandkids asked where her Dad was , I said oh the kids are all inside, she said he's not a kid he's a big man! LOL I don't think they ever stop being our kids! OHHH minted melon balls with lime cream dip - sounds very yummy!! I didn't pay as much attention to my "healthy eating plan" as I should have either! LOL I don't think cosmopolitans are on it! LOL... my favorite summer drink. No good remedies for sore throat - isn't zinc supposed to help?? And I'm like you - the first thing I do in the morning before checking my email is check what was posted in our group!!![]()
phox- I agree with the others that protein is needed when lifting. 60-80 is about what I try to get although since summer started I have not been getting that... more like 40-60 ... I know I need to do better. I have to supplement with protein powder and then it doesn't always agree with my tummy LOL
snow - nice new pic!! I've been burning an extra 500 - 900 calories a day with golf and yardwork! Keep walking! LOL
southern - Congrats on getting below 190!!! Way to go! I had to succumb to taking hormones for my menopausal symptoms
didn't really want to take them but after 4 months of not sleeping a wink and hot flashes so bad they made me feel like I was going to faint - like I had to put my head between my knees - I gave in to the Dr's recommendation that I take them. I feel great now but who knows what will happen when I try to get off of them. I wasn't crazy about doing it but the alternative ( the way I was feeling ) was affecting my everyday life too much.
maryanne - I actually feel better when I am eating healthier. Maybe you're not eating enough?? Agree with everyone else too - make sure you're getting enough protein. I've not found anything that helps the weight loss except to work a whole lot harder and be very diligent with eating healthy! I'm not big on weight loss supplements - have never tried any.
robbie, that's like me! i can't stay away. i should be walking, but i keep playing on here instead. reading journals, checking the boards, posting, etc.
i hope your throat is better!
bonton, that is so awesome how you do all that landscaping.
yeah, i put that pic up because it's pretty new. i should have one coming soon of me & sis. :D ang took it on the 4th & yelled, "ewwww! mom, you look anorexic, look!!!" LOL then the next morning she told me not to wear that new shirt i was wearing because it made me look fat... :D i can't win. i just can't win.
Today, I just suddenly ran out of steam! I'm not sure why. My diet has been excellent and today wasn't any different from previous days.
I got up at 6 am to go for my morning walk with weights. Then I came home and dozed for another hour then got up and went to water aerobics. I wasn't tired at water aerobics or while walking. Next I had to run to the store before fixing lunch. About an hour after lunch, I suddenly felt exhausted.
I decided to take a "power nap" (about 30 minutes). But after my alarm went off, I tried to get up and still felt very tired. So, my 30 minute "power nap" turned into a whole hour nap. When I did wake up, it was a little harder waking up than it would have been if I could have managed a power nap but at least I didn't feel so exhausted.
I decided to eat a protein bar. That always gives me a boost and it did this time, too. I'm beginning to feel more energetic now. BTW, I found some really good protein bars at Sam's Club. They're called "Eat Good, Look Great Protein Bars" and they have no sugar, 20 grams of protein and only 190 calories! They're yummy, too.
I need to get some work done but the day is almost gone and mostly all I've done is exercise and sleep! *sigh* This getting healthy is a lot of hard work!
~ Beth
is it hot there? i feel crappy when it's too hot. just be sure to take a nap if you need one & get your work done too. LOL i'm the same way lately! exercise comes 1st & then i don't feel like doing dishes, laundry, etc. :D
OK, I gained a pound over the holiday, which isn't the worst thing ever, but also it's really hot here, too, Snow, and auwie, my throat is on fire. Southern, can midwives deliver soothing throat relief? I can't begin to think about exercise when I feel so crummy. And, the heat is killing our yard because the previous homeowner--an unemployed engineer (now I know why she was unemployed!) built her own sprinkler system, and the repair guy (who is here now) tells me she did a terrible job--mixed sprinkler head types, didn't balance the zones, used the cheapest equipment, etc. So now we have to spend money to fix it and then even more money for extra watering which will make my bill HUGE. Boohoo, I'm really feeling sorry for myself. Bonton: wanna trade homes for a while? Yours looks beautiful. My problem is, there's no grass here to mow off the pounds, even if I ever feel good again! Sorry to be so whiny; I just felt the need to vent.
Robbie - you are sick with a viral throat infection and feeling bad so whine all you want. You're allowed. A Virologist I know says there is scientific evidence that Zinc Lozenges are effective but I recall him saying you had to get on them right from the start. Might be too late for those. When all else fails I use Chloraseptic sore throat lozenges. If you hold them at the back of your tongue, try not to gag and swallow them whole, they melt this anaesthetic type juice onto your red and inflamed throat and freeze it for instant relief. Your weekend trip sounded great. Too bad about the camera. Thanks for the good vibes. I feel them.
Beth - thanks for the info on your PVC's from hell trip to the ER. I downloaded the book you mentioned and had a good read through it. I have some of the vitamins he talks about but I can see there is a solid case to be made for increasing the Vitamin C. I'm going to get right on it. In the meantime I have quit the Apple Cider Vinegar tabs, given up caffeine for decaf, and have been feeling not too bad the last couple of days. Mind you, Auntie Flo has packed her bags as well, so is there a correlation to hormone fluctuations with these heart arrythmias? Quite possibly. I don't take any synthetic hormones but I read about chaste berry, a herb that supposedly helps with the breast tenderness so I'm going to look for some of that. I feel like a herb garden is going to grow inside of me if I keep all this experimenting up.
Snow - great new pic. Wow, you have sure shrunk from the 218 photo. Do you know how much younger you look? Way to go!
Bon - the garden is gorgeous. Put your feet up and have a rest!
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein
robbie Are you running a fever with your sore throat?? Could be viral but could also be strep -maybe you need a throat culture. I hope you're feeling better. Sore throats are terrible - I used to get them all the time but I swear since going to the chiropractor every 2 weeks for my shoulder I quit getting them. I don't know if there's any correlation but I don't get them anymore!
My yard stays green even in August when everyone else's is turning brown from the heat and sun!
We are near the river (Susquehanna) and are fairly shaded - I think the soil is very sandy and it holds the moisture. I had some friends from HS at my house last night for a girls night (drinks and snacks) everyone was raving about my landscaping - made me feel good! I am glad it's done - it was a job and half but now it looks nice! Still need to stain the deck and paint the floor on my front porch! In the summer I am not sure how I fit in work in the winter.
bex - liked your quote from Einstein! LOL is that all of us - trying over and over to lose weight with the same result ( lose it only to gain it back??)! LOL![]()
Yesterday I took 2 of my grandkids to the community pool. Today I am playing a a practice round of golf with my guest for my member guest Wed. , then golf tomorrow and Thurs I'm going over to see my other grandson! My daughter is off and so is her husband so I told them to make plans and get out for a day. I haven't seen him for about a week and a half - that's about my limit, then I have to get over there to be with him!
As of yesterday I had gained a little over a pound over the holiday too
do feel like I'm retaining fluid (it's very hot and humid) and cosmo's and dessert... that's what I get for living it up. Ate well yesterday but alas I had 2 cosmos with my girlfriends! LOL Staying off the scale today!
Bonnie: Temperature is 98.6--normal, no. But throat feels like it could be strep: knife-like pain very deep in my throat. Hard to swallow. Ears hurt too. My doc's out this week, and I don't have time to go anyway, so I'm cheating by taking antibiotics my husband had around, just in case. Thanks for asking. I am very rarely sick at all, so I seem to take it worse than I think I should. I'm just so frustrated about not being able to do any exercise. You must have the summer off with all the projects you're completing. LOL about your deck and porch--doesn't it seem that fixing one thing calls out to us to fix another?
Bex: I also like that quote. I use it a lot, but didn't know it was Einstein. Where do you come up with all your quotes? I stumbled through menopause with no supplements--just a multivitamin and calcium. Don't recommend that necessarily, but I tried several natural symptom relievers and just didn't think they were worth it. The bset of the ones I tried was Estroven, which helped with the night sweats. Cheaper at Costco or Sams.
Here's the melon ball recipe, which drew raves:
8 c melon ball, soaked for 1-6 hours in in 1/4 c water, 1/4 c sugar, 6 T lime juice, 2 T minced fresh mint, 2 tsp. grated lime peel and 1 1/2 tsp groud ginger or 2 T grated fresh ginger root.
Dip: 1 c sour cream (I used low fat), 2 T sugar, 1 T lime juice and 2 tsp grated lime peel.
Thread balls on toothpicks or wood skewers and serve with dip.
For what it's worth, I got two cups of melon balls from each melon--used two honeydew and two cantelope.
Have a good day, all.
robbie, i was up 4 pounds. LOL only up 1 now :D i went to the chinese buffet again today though, so not a clue what i'll weigh tomorrow, but probably just up some more. i'm gonna be extra good for the rest of the day. it's still hot here... about 90!
i hope your throat gets better. that sucks! :( you'll probably end up seeing a doctor. good luck!
rebbex, thanks! yeah, 218 kind of crept up on me. the 140 i actually had to work for. LOL i've been told i look way younger. i feel way younger, but i guess hearing that would make you feel that way too.
i have a new pic up now. my daughter took it on july 4 & shouted "EWWW!!! mom, you look anorexic, LOOK!!!" then the next morning she said i shouldn't wear the shirt i had on anymore 'cause it made me look fat. LOL i just can't win...
that's my sis in the pic. the one who has walked with me like 3 times. i guess she's keeping it up on her own. i dunno. i'll have to call her.
bonton, that does look awesome & i'm sure it's alot of work!!! i could never do that!
Robbi-Hope you are feeling better. I used to have a terrible sore throat frequently till I gave up teaching. Vocal abuse is what the doctor called it. Take care of yourself.
I've been reading about protein and found some very interesting information at
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0846/i s_3_23/ai_108836455
Small amounts of protein are indeed important for building and repairing muscle tissue, but contrary to popular belief, weight training does not dramatically increase your daily protein needs, says Boston-area nutritionist Nancy Clark, M.S., R.D., author of Nancy Clark's Sports Nutrition Guidebook, Third Edition (Human Kinetics, 2003). For a sedentary person, the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for protein is about 0.4 gram of protein per pound of body weight--about 58 grams of protein per day for a 145-pound woman. An active woman--one who exercises three to five times a week, whether doing cardiovascular exercise or strength training--needs about 0.5-0.6 gram per pound of body weight, Clark says. For a 145-pound woman, that's about 73-87 grams per day--the extra protein equivalent to 2 ounces of tuna (17 grams).
So you were right about 90 g Beth. I'm not getting enough.
But it goes on to say: Supplements are a needless expense." Here's how easy it is to get at least 90 grams of protein in a day:
Breakfast 1 cup Quaker Squares cereal (6 grams) with 1 cup lowfat milk (8 grams) and 1 sliced banana (1 gram) Snack 1/2 cup cottage cheese (14 grams) with a plum (1 gram)
Lunch Subway turkey sandwich on wheat bread (18 grams) and 1 whole carrot (1 gram)
Snack 1 cup plain yogurt (8 grams) with 1 cup strawberries (1 gram)
Dinner 1 chicken taco (21 grams), 1/2 cup black beans (7 grams), 1/2 cup brown rice (2 grams) and 1 cup broccoli (4 grams) Total protein for the day 92 grams
Maybe I'll start eating cottage cheese :(
Bonton, beautiful gardens. It must be a lot of hard work (exercise!).
Have a great day everyone
Snow - I like your picture. Congratulations on reaching 140 today.
I also changed my picture. I realized that my face looks a lot thinner and some of the fat on my face was what made me look older (IMO). Anyway, that picture I just added isn't the best because I took it myself and my hair was wet and pulled back. But I think I still look better than I did before. So I decided to add it anyway.
Robbi - Hope you feel better today. I once found a throat spray that contained echinacea and it worked really well. But warning: it tastes NASTY! Echinacea is an herb with natural anti-biotic properties. But if you are not feeling better soon, I'd get it checked out. It could be strep.
Pxox - Thanks for the additional information on protein. That's good to know. I would normally prefer getting all the nutrition I need directly from the food I eat. But I like more variety in what I eat and if I'm having to add that many "protein" foods AND watch my calories, I don't think I could eat as much of what I really like.
That's why I like adding the protein powder and protein bars to my diet as needed. It allows me to get a lot of extra protein without as many calories. Then I can eat the majority of my calories in food that is more suited to my tastes. But after I get my weight down, I will probably switch to getting most of my protein from food because then I will be on a maintenance food plan rather than a loose weight plan.
Bonton - Want to come work my yard for me?
I didn't get mowing done before it started raining. It's rained for about 5 days now. You should see my yard. It's a mess and the ground is still too wet to mow. The worst part is when it finally gets dry enough to mow, the temperatures will be back in the 90's and so will the humidity! My husband says he will do it. I'm glad. I prefer gardening to mowing. Maybe, just maybe I'll do some of that one evening this next weekend. But walking is so much easier. ![]()
Have a nice day everyone. I'm about to go swim. The pool has been SO cold since the rain. But the good news is that the rain hasn't stopped us yet because all the rain so far has been either late at night or during the hottest part of the day only.
snow and southern- Nice new pics! Southern - your face already looks thinner - way to go with your weight loss and you too snow! And snow - you do not look anorexic - I still think your family just isn't adjusted to the new you!
My yard will need mowed tomorrow. It rained today
at my member guest golf tournament - miserable weather - pouring rain for 9 holes UGH - golf is so much more fun in the sunshine! We had taco salads after golfing which I only ate half of mine but I did eat dessert which was some sort of fried dough wrapped around a small snicker bar, deep fried and served with chocolate drizzled over top and a scoop of ice cream..... oh boy how many calories was that!!????
Oh well back to better eating tomorrow.. I seem to be saying that a lot lately LOL I had a little wine too when I got home to "unwind" 1 of the women I played with was not too much fun... to long of story to go in to but suffice it to say I PLAY GOLF TO HAVE FUN!!! not be tortured. Why exactly do ppl have to be like that??? i had to vent to my poor hubby for half and hour!
Our grandson is coming tomorrow - can't wait! I miss him when he isn't here!
robbie- I hope you are feeling better!! Wish your hubby good luck with his surgery - it's Friday isn't it? Thanks for the minted melon ball recipe - I am going to try it ... it sounds good!!
frost - where are you??
phox- During school I eat cottage cheese everyday for lunch because it has protein and it's easy!! LOL Throw it in a container and add an apple - done!
Should I use a cleanse to jump-start my diet?
A cleanse is unnecessary, but a short-term fast like the Master Cleanse you describe, might serve as a tangible signal of change and... Read more
