I'm starting on SB, and choose at random, day 4. Will have to go to the store for some things.
No, reason for my little binge, no excuse, except I felt like it and thats what happens when I'm too strict, like before Valentines Day. Plus no exercise lately.
Daughter has been eating some of my triscuits and Kashi (despites sweetend cereals here) - is she getting over her radical anti diet / healthy food boycott? She also hit the frozen cauliflower, granted with butter but heck - she knew it was an unfried vegetable and cooked it anyway.
Got some lemon crystal light, the first I tried but havent had in a decade or two. Its actually fine - but the raspberry one has serious aftertaste. My friend Alice sounds like she was gettting better this weekend, wondering if she'll be up for walking today. Says its 38degrees (should be colder inside) but supposed to up to 60 today.
WAKE UP BEACHERS!
Well, it looks like there has been some heavy stuff going on here.
Gina, I am really sorry that you are going through some hard stuff. I wish I couldn say I don't know what you are going through, but I do..looks like a lot us know it. If you're weight is dropping that fast I take it your not really eating? Completely understandable, but try to eat a little each day. I know its easier said then done. You're in my thoughts....
I'd like to say no drama on my side as well, but more than I would like really since Jan...and I was doing so well in Jan too! But the you know what hit the fan on the 6th of this month and its just been the last couple of days that things are starting to calm down....so much fun and my bday too! Yes, I am throwing that in there, don't ask me why LOL
My birthdays always seem to be centered around stressful events...I just try to get the day over with as much as possible. But I always want everyone else's to be fantastic!
Anyhooo....updates on the steroids, well I am off them and I've taken myself off of all the meds completely. The dr. wanted me to go on steroids for 6 months and I told her that's not a solution. So, I'm going to keep my topical ointments, but that's it. The only reason I went to this solution again was because back in the States I was able to get the eczema under control without daily meds. I'd like to think that even though there are different climate conditions, etc. I can get through this on my own.
Went up on the weight again (no brainer there), but back at the gym tomorrow to begin again....not sure about the marathon this year since its less than 4 months away, haven't decided yet.
Don't have to worry about going to the Confirmation on Sat either (part of all the drama...though I am no directly involved in it) Saves lots of money on clothes and stress, but at least that can go directly to the child instead.
Sounds like a lot of us are having ups and downs, but always getting back on the wagon....that's a good thing!
Welcome to all the newbies, I see there is another Angie on board ![]()
Super cold weather here tonight, frost and temps down to 21 and below...now I know over there it gets even colder, but let's say frost and stuff isn't completely the norm here...Gina is probably even colder since she's further North and in the middle!
Keep up the good work and I will start keeping in touch better now...only thing Jayne, not weighing in again until I can get back down to the 170's....
Oh and for back in the States...Happy President's Day
Do I have that right? LOL
too much sodium!
This is my first day on SBD and as I review my nutrition report this is what I see:
Fat - 15.8% (6 grams)
Protein - 50.6% (43 grams)
Carbohydrates - 33.6% (29 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0%
Other - 0.0%
Daily Sodium Intake - 1,422 mg
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 35 mg
Daily Fiber Intake - 8 grams
I am at my limit for sodium for the day and I have only had 329 calories! I know where the sodium is coming from - my Light string cheese - each stick has a whopping 230mg of sodium. is there string cheese without so much sodium? I eat these for a snack.
thanks for your ideas and support!
Rachael, thats like my 15 lbs in 7 days, about 2 lbs a day. We know what that weight is and you'll knock them off with some focus. Glad to hear for them, you got a bunch of fudge. Now Im will try to stop thinking of fudge.
Hoping the carbs dont set me off for THursday. There good ones, but you never know and my appetite seems to be in check. Ive such expectations to break 350 and at 351.4 - thats not asking too much at my weight. This is NOT the week for a plateau.
does anyone watch the fitness channel with "Low carb cooking with Blaine"? He's kinda cute.
today he fixed peanut butter in chocolate. He melted blocks of cocoa and added splenda and coated a mold. then he made peanut butter balls.........i didn't see what he put in the peanut butter, but it may have been a little bit of soy flour, to make it firmer. He filled the chocolate molds, with the peanut butter mixture and more chocolate on top. 2 carbs each.........my mouth was watering. Soy flour is hard for me to find, and now I am curious to see if its lower carb than regualr flour.
irlmonet: so happy to see you back again. I'm sure you know all the things that can cause excema to break out. I have a nice gold necklace and bracelet my daughter bought on a cruise.......so hard telling what was in the gold, anyway it caused her excema to flare up, so she gave it to me. Happy Birthday!!!!
I took off 1 pound of the (was it a binge?) weekend ...........let's just call it a splurge (that doesn't sound so out of control). I am just doing a normal effort and patiently waiting on spring to get outside exercise.
Working on my attitude to accept my weight, and have patience, and not get obsessed about getting it down. Like everyone warns, for some weird reason, these last 10 pounds are harder to get off.
I wonder why that is? Any theorys?
Good Morning All...
I am on Day 6 of Sb and I have to say that I am hadling it a lot better than I thought I would. I weighed myself again after the Dr's office and her scale and my scale state 2 different weights. Her scale stated that I weighed 189 but when I got home mine said that I weighed 185. This morning my scale said that I weighed 177...woohoo. 8 POUNDS!!!! I am a little early for the Thursday weigh ins but I was excited and wanted to share. I am still craving bread though...![]()
Can anyone tell me how chili falls into this diet?
Rachael, Ive always believed that the body tries to allow for stored fuel and thats connect to getting and keeping off those last pounds. I wasnt even aware there was a 'fitness channel' but I think its an interesting concept considering the low carb - exercise ideas out there.
You sound so alive, Bee! Is your hubby supportive of your diet efforts? Nice to have some away time from school and get to build on your 'couple' time to anticipate. Im sure you'll work in some meals that work for you!
I think Sarahs supposed to be back some time today - not used to her voice missing.
Sun
Thanks for the info on Sargento - I went out today and bought all my food for two weeks including Sargento cheese.
Has everyone been putting their foods into CC? I am still going to do it cause I want to know Fiber, Fat, carb etc info.
Right now I am chowing down on Brocolli and Egg beaters omlette with some Cilantro-Lime salsa - very little carbs or calories.
I still walk two miles a day on the treadmill, hope this two weeks doesn't make me get too tired to exercise.
Back at work today. Had to take a few personal days, but feeling a bit better. Weight is still down although I'm not complaining. Was worried though because I lost about 6lbs in about 4 or 5 days due to not eating. I just couldnt stomach eating - an apple would fill me up for hours!!!!!
Anyways, some things are sorted but I still need answers to other questions. Thank you everyone for your support!!
So how is everyone else doing??
I'm here! Just caught up with about 3 days of reading. You all are busy bees here. I haven't posted here in ages b/c I wasn't successful in getting through the first few days of phase 1. Gosh, it seems the older I get (43) the less disciplined I become. I'm not a sweets person. Salty snacks, fries, tots & WINE are my downfall. I would be great at not having the snacks & potatoes around at all, but I have 2 kids 5 & 9 and that makes elimianting them from the house and when we go out to restaurants virtually impossible. The wine is my problem. I do bring that into the house and I need to just leave it at the grocery store.
I'll keep trying. Everyday there is a new opportunity to excel. Take care all. Hang in there.
Glad to see youve some resolution Gina and some time to sort thru things. I cant believe tomorrow is weigh-in, as in really cant believe as Ive been thinking today is Tuesday :P. New good carbs dont fail me now! I wonder if I may not lose because Ive been good about keeping calories up and not so well before. I read a post recently on someone saying it to weeks of small gains before they leveled out. Hopefully not an issue but intending not to be put off and continue on with incorportating carbs.
Hi all, it's weigh day. I weighed in at 130.8 down from 131 last week. Not much loss but I did start exercising again on Monday and at least did not gain so I am happy.
Hope everyone else is doing ok. It's been a busy week and I'm glad it's almost Friday even though they are calling for an ice storm starting this evening (WV). Was planning on working from home tomorrow anyway.
Will check in later.
Weight still 126lbs. Hope everyone is doing ok.
