Clean Eating Challenge deejlb
  Apr 30 2007 22:09
Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me??

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

Dee

************************************************

Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules:
(let me know if I missed you)

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding.

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

Wow, you 21-day-plus people are inspirational!

Doing well at day 3.  I've realized I just have to count, no matter what.  When I exercise, I can eat a lot, but I need to be very specific about what "a lot" actually is.  If I don't pay close attention, it just becomes mindless grazing. *chews cud*

Need a restart :(
I do so well and feel so much better once I'm actually on track and eating clean, but getting through a Day 1 instead of squeezing one more day of reckless abandon in ... ugh!
#543 littlefroggie Jun 01 2007 02:37

pharmspice- way to walk by the evil donuts!!!

lisa- hope your energy goes up soon.

brightestblue- you're funny! (chews cud). ya those 21 day people are amazing!

18lifetogo- dont' sweat it. Make tomorrow your day one & start from there. Try to go just one day, then one more.

littlefroggie- how much less are you talking about here? I eat 1200 cals a day & love how quick the weight's come off. You could try that.

I seem to have caught the binge bug...

I need a restart - AGAIN as of June 1 - ARGH!!

Goal - to stay clean for 20 days, at least
#547 tully Jun 01 2007 12:57
Well, I have been doing pretty good.  Some of my portions are a little over the top but I am not binging and that is a huge accomplishment for me!  Yes, I am over eating a little but not to the extreme I did for the whole month of May.  My goal for June is to trade some of the sweets for natural sweets like fruit. I am big into watermelon these days!  Have a great day!
#548 kmkirksey Jun 01 2007 16:51
Can I join for June?
#549 foxymama1406 Jun 01 2007 18:08

dee- i am eating 1200 (give or take).  but when it was like 1/2 taht i lost weight rly quick. i am totally aware of and experienced the health problems but sometimes i rly just wanna go back.  i am feeling better today but i can be soo tempting.

Need a restart date of June 1.  Yesterday was weigh in and lost 6 lbs (3 wk weigh in) and then just splurged a bit.  Today I did not eat too healthy, but stayed in my calorie range.  Does anyone else think the nutrition analysis is a little off, today I got an A ,and I ate an Atkins shake, a McDonalds grilled faita wrap; cheese doodles, two cupcakes and two brownie bites and that seems incredible to get an A.  I say F,  but I still count it as a clean day since I did not exceed 1300 calories which is my upper limit.  I will eat more nutritionally sound starting tommorrow.
#552 piecesofme_09 Jun 02 2007 02:43
still clean!
#553 18lifetogo Jun 02 2007 03:11
Whew!  Finally made it through a Day 1. I'm seriously considering only weighing myself once per month and cutting out processed sugars.  For some reason, I step on the scale and if I lost too much or not enough, I start thinking I can plan a little splurge for myself...but as soon as that splurge includes sugar...boom...off the wagon I tumble. For a change, I should splurge each month with a good haircut, new shoes, a makeover...something special that doesn't involve sugar!

Thanks for the positive push Dee.

#555 amh1113 Jun 02 2007 04:11

#558 lysistrata Jun 02 2007 20:32
Checking in.  I cheated yesterday ... couldn't stay away from the jar of chocolate at work.  I hate those cravings.  I went for a run last night to try to make up for it but I think I still have to call it a cheat.  Well, at least I made it to the end of May!  June, here we come!
#559 deejlb Jun 03 2007 00:12
My head's completely outta the game right now, my dog's been sick for a week & I've never been so stressed in my life :( I know it's no excuse, but tomorrow I will try  to be better. Hope you all are doing great.

Dee

Hope things calm down for you, Dee!

I'm staying clean.  Some days I feel the pull to eat junk, but I'm trying to deal with those cravings as best I can!  It can be difficult!

I see I'm on the board as eating clean since May 15, but I cheated and need to be restarted as of May 30.  Thanks, though!  :)
