My weight loss in the beginning was its own motivation because it was going so well. In the first 6 weeks I lost 16 lbs. However, in the past month I havent lost anything... its hard to find motivation now when all my hard work seems to be getting me nowhere. I have about 60 lbs to go and at this rate... im not gonna get there.. my goal was to get there before my 21st birthday (June 2008) but Im not sure if im ever going to get to goal.

I am brand new to this website and I am not sure if I can say some of the things I am about to say, BUT I am gonna anyway.  I am a member of anothersite called KIMKINS.  When I first started that WOE I was 273.  I dropped to 237 in less than a month.  My first week I lost 11 pounds.  I know it seems crazy and impossible or unhealthy but I can assure you there are many many many of us there and no one has dropped dead yet.  It will be featurd in the June ? Womans Day magazine.  One lady dropped 100 lbs in 6 mths and the lady who started it lost way more in about 7.  So, do not give up just work harder.  If you REALLY want to be at GOAL by your brithday I would say you can so it way before then.  60 lbs is almost what my friend lost in 5 mths so I know it can be done.  I have been pigheaded and not doing what I should or I would be at GOAL now. Have a great day and good luck in the future!

OK, jenpolson you peaked my interest.  So, what are the main components of the plan?  Can you assure me that I won't be spending $39.95 to see a starvation diet? Or better yet, spending $39.95 to see the plan but not be able to use it until I spend say $49.95 or more on suppliments or special food, etc?

Wow that is great!! Not saying it isn't healthy, but it is probably another diet, like Atkins only not as drastic or like South Beach. This website isn't a diet plan it is a total life change a difference than a diet. This site teaches you how to eat better keep healthy for long term like the rest of your life. Not a weight loss diet or a fad diet this site teaches you how to eat right, read labels, prepare you own foods, eat out healthy, rather than relying on a pre-made package meals and paying a monthly fee to get that food and still have to pay money to eat on top of that. I am not saying this Kimkins won't work I am sure it does and works great, but is it long term? If you go off of it will you gain it all back? This site teaches you a life change and will never really diet. If you use this correctly you will never diet you just eat healthy exercise and that is the key: calories in<calories out=weight loss simple, but yet hard to master and understand. Yes, it does probably take longer in the long run, but slow weight loss is better for you, your body gets used to it and isn't a drastic change in diet. I didn't want to offend anyone not my intent just an understanding on what this site is versus a diet or diet product per say.

Hi All, I have just finished reading all the post sice I was last in here...Everything sounds gr8 for you all.  Iappriciate your comment Stinky about this being a life change...

But, with that said i need some guidlines to get started.  A structured diet may be what I need as long as it is healthy, I have seen where people are listing different diets they are on.  I am very interested in the pros and cons of those diets and maybe some suggestions for me.

Thanks all, Mike

I'm 5'1 and 31 and weigh 202.5 pounds. I HATE IT. I too am curvy and I have always hated that. I had several childhood dramas and  I know that I hide behind my weight. MY husband is skinny and goodlooking so I always feel like I am cheating him, he does not feel like this, but I do. I  have 2 kids and I want to teach them good habits. I need support. :)

Thanks,

Lenak

Hi ,

I just found out about this forum and I am happy.

I am totally terrified these days as my weight keeps going up every day.I am 5"6 and weight 240 pounds.

Being fat is something in my mind day and night but I don't know why I am not doing anything about it. I just developed a skin condition and my doctor says it is because of my overweight. So add this to all other disease that come from being fat.

I hope this web site and all great people here motivates me to take care of my condition.

Sorry but does anyone else find it funny that jenpolson has exactly one post and it is one promoting a $39.95 diet? This KimKins woman is making a mint with her so called Atkins variation diet.  And when this hits the June issue of Woman's Day, she is going to make millions more.  People want a quick fix.  What they don't understand is quick fixes don't work.

When I saw that post, I was surprised at first then after there wasn't any response from my post below that. I figured it was some kind of bait to look at that diet plan. It is a modified Adkins/South Beach quick fix diet plan/scam that will work, but not for long term...Good Catch Mominpa...

Hi everyone and wtg on all your weight losses.  I am female, 47 and 314 pounds.  I have had crohn's disease since I was 17 and was on and off prednisone (steroids) for many years.  Because of my health problems... crohn's, morbidly obese (the name in itself is embarrassing lol), high blood pressure and high cholesterol, I decided to quit my job and concentrate on my health.  Although I was able to maintain my weight at 270 for about 5 years, I had a 46 pound weight gain when I quit smoking. Having the smoking out of the way, I am now ready to lose weight.  I am of the mindset, as most of you are, that eating healthy and counting calories is the route to go.  I look forward to losing weight with all of you!

Hi everyone.  My name is Jessica.  I am 26 years old and 267 (down 2.5 this week).  I just joined this website this week and already I have lost weight.  I'm excited to keep going and really hope to make some friends who know what this is like.  I don't know anyone else my size.  My husband is a hunky firefighter and we have a precious 3 year old little girl.  I want to lose the weight for myself, but I know they will feel the benefits too.  So nice to meet you all, hope we can talk soon. :)
