I'll be 43 this June anyone around the same age want to join my weight loss quest?

Greetings!

I am hoping that this site I stumbled on will help me out. I have been on a diet or fighting with food my entire life. About 8 years ago I lost about 100 pounds, my lowest weight was 204 then I had my first child at 40. Now I am 220 and he'll be three this June. The only good news is that I do not weight 300 + pounds anymore having said that - No excuses, my food addiction problem has been out of control now since his birth. I try - and try - and try - and still nothing seems to be working. Maybe I can find a friend here who will help give me the strength I need to be healthy. I need to stay alive for my family.

I saw that show once and had to laugh at them! Glad you came so close to that goal of yours Kristine, 2.5 lbs off it is pretty good! Nothing new here for me lately, been trying some new exercise routines and have been enjoying them so far so I am pleased about that. Hope everyone has had a good week. Guess I'll start things today.

Omagraf - Sandy 155.5 (same as last week, but no gain is good!)

I've never seen that show, but then I don't watch much TV.  I was bad this week, and it shows.  Our apartment is really warm and I don't want to get on the elliptical, but I really have to find the motivation again to do it.

Hi fellow 40+'s. I would love to join your quest. I am a 42 yr. old stay at home mom with a 3yr. old daughter. I joined 3 weeks ago at 182 lbs and need to drop 35-40. this is so hard going it alone.

I want to be able to activly participate in playing with my daughter and just can't do it at this weight. Clothes shopping has literally reduced me to tears and I hate the sight of myself in a mirror. All my fat seems to gather in my belly and face and I am uncomfortable all the time. I do usually weigh on Fridays so that's fine with me too.

Trying to loss weight at this age is harder than I expected. I have cut my calories based on the CC down to 1300 and was probably having well over 2500+ a day. I binge late at night and seem to graze all day. I have been doing better lately with the CC but I think having a group of like minded buddies would really help.

So, room for one more overweight, over 40 but motivated Lady?

Sure Lisacgil, there's always room for more!

I actually got on the elliptical for the first time in weeks (yes I'm embarrassed about that) and it went well.  I plan on getting back on again tonight after supper; we shall see.  I'm afraid I'm going to be back up again this week, but I hope that by being good I can minimize the damage.

I'll start Friday off here I guess. I am up a little but I am OK with that because I am really retaining right now so I know that in a day or two when I can shed this fluid I'll be down more than 1/2 a lb. Pollen counts are going up so I am a little wheezy this week. Hi Lisacgil, good to have you drop in. I am getting ready to head to Myrtle Beach Aug. 8th, so I hope to be good and get more walking in next week. It will be good to get away. Have a good weigh in day folks.

Omagraf - Sandy 156 (up 1/2)

Well it's no change from last week for me.  We spent the weekend with my husband's brother and his family, and I find it really hard not to eat more while travelling.  I'm glad that I didn't gain anything.  I got on the elliptical once this week; I'll have to be better about that, no more excuses.

cynthb - Cynthia 174.4 (no change)

momof2 - Tammy 174.4 (down 2.2 lbs!) I'm getting use to this losing streak I'm on!!! lol

hi everyone..sorry I'm the late one today but just found out my husband has lost his job and well................:(

Anyway i weighed today and am still 174.4 (no change). I have hit a plateau since I have no change in about 2-3 weeks. And now with this job loss I am really down and of course want to...but will try not to...do emotional eating...

Have a good weekend everyone > by the way until I get my profile done..my name is Lisa

Hi all.  Got back from our trip last night and REALLY need to get back on track.   I've come to the conclusion that counting calories on vacation is next to impossible!  I indulged my whole trip but somehow came away with only gaining 1lbs.  I think it was all the walking we did on some days.  I could not resist the irish sausage and ate them EVERY DAY.  Oh well, it was worth it.  We had a great time and now I will get focused.  I'm actually looking forward to eating healthy again.  I posted a few pictures in my gallery.

Welcome to the new people. Sorry to hear about your husbands job, Lisa.  I hope all works out.  I am a firm believer in "everything happens for a reason".  I bet bigger and better things are in store for him.

Omagraf - Sandy 156 (up 1/2)

cynthb - Cynthia 174.4 (no change)

momof2 - Tammy 174.4 (down 2.2 lbs!) I'm getting use to this losing streak I'm on!!! lol

MissyKris1 - Kristine - 173.5 - Up 1lb (of pure sausage, I'm sure!)

Its been very quiet on this thread.....hope everyone is doing well and will be checking in tomorrow!!!!

I've been quiet partly because I've been bad this week.  We ate out three times, twice at an Indian buffet.  I stuck to one plate, but I'm pretty sure that a lot of the sauces are thickened with cream.  I love love love Indian food though.  I'm not surprised that I'm up this week.

cynthb - Cynthia - 177.0 (up 2.4)

Is it me or is it harder to stick to this in the summer?  I think there is so much going on each weekend that eating good is just plain hard!  I think those months coming up to summer are the best - the thoughts of putting on a bathing suit can motivate anyone!

cynthb - Cynthia - 177.0 (up 2.4)

MissyKris - Kristine - 172 (down 1.5lb)  or basically down .5 since before I left on vacation.  I think being jetlagged this week has curbed my appetite!

I've been preparing for a trip down East to visit my mother in Nova Scotia. We leave tomorrow and are back a week Tuesday, so I'll miss next week's weigh-in. I've been looking forward to this trip for a while; it's always so relaxing to visit her.

I'll start off; hopefully you guys are still around! I'm back to what I was before the gain of the past few weeks, hopefully I can keep on going :)

cynthb - Cynthia - 173.2 (down 3.8, yay!)

wow  mavmom, my story is simular to yours. Although I am older. I am 48. I lost 80lb a few years ago and have gained most of it back. I am an emotioanal eater.I have battled with my weight my whole life. It seems I set myself up for failure, and have little or no will power to say no to junk. Almost everyone in my home is over weight, and they are not willing to help. There is always junk food here in the house and someone is always willing to offer it to share it with me. I need help to lose this weight again and hope this cite will help. I joined 2 days ago and have been working on calories and activity logs. But it would be nice to chat to others who understand, the issue we face daily with friends , family and eating.

Welcom Tricia - You found the right place.  CC is great in general and I really like this forum (even though its been very quiet lately!)We usually weigh in on Fridays.

cynthb - Cynthia - 173.2 (down 3.8, yay!)

MissyKris - Kristine 172.5  - up .5   which I completely deserve. I've been a horrible eater this week.

Good for you Cynthia!  That is some drop!  Enjoy your time with your mom.  Hopefully I won't be talking to myself next Friday!

Sorry, I guess I have been part of the silence...I was in Myrtle Beach last week and am happy to report that I was able to walk off almost everything I consumed. I weighed myself yesterday (late in the day) and I had no gain from the trip. I may have lost some since I usually weigh in the morning (when I weigh the least). I have my fingers crossed...This summer has flown by me. I have been taking some time off work to help watch my new grandbabies and time has flown. Their mommies are getting back to their regular routine now and I will be able to get back to mine as well. I have not been getting to the gym like I was and it has definately not helped me lose weight, but hopefully the next few weeks will see more progress. I did eat bad stuff on my trip, but made sure that I walked alot and limited my portions. I am pretty pleased with the results right now, I didn't feel deprived and yet I did not lose ground! YEAH! I can't wait for the Friday weigh in to see how close I'll be to what I was before I left.  Man was it hot there!

I have lots of family birthday's this month and will have to watch the treats there! Hope you all are having a good week as well, it felt good to read everyone's posts and catch up.  Nice to see a couple new names. I hope you stick around and chat some! We could use the support ourselves, but if we can give some back that's great. I always feel a little better after I read the other posts and hear so many of my own thoughts and feelings in others.

Sandy

I hope I am doing this right. It's Monday morning, a weekend of not making the right choices. Took my sugar reading higher than I would like but hopefully lower tomorrow, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, which for the record I thought was today. LOL. Monday morning a new start, thank you Missy for answering me, there really is someone out there. I will weigh in on Friday and hope to see a change in the numbers, lower hopefully. My plan this week is to say within the calories, plus I do do my treadmill daily for a half hour, well 5-6 days a week. I found out that wii bowling uses 208 calories in an hour. It's  fun, and better than just sitting in front of the tv so I am adding that to the list to do daily after work. According to the calorie counter program I need to lose 144 lbs, that is scary to me. I keep telling myself 1 lb at a time lol... Help it will be a long road...

Tricia......... I am right there with you. I have to loose another 110. You are so right it will be a long road, but eventually we all will see fantastic results. I struggle with weight loss. I was down 15 pounds but now I am back up about 5. I am not sure why. I have increased my exercise routine. I eat about 1400-1600 calories a day. Mostly good stuff, but I have to admit once in awhile some chocolate sneaks in.  Not sure if I like going by the scale, since my clothes are actually rally loose on me and I even bought a size smaller a few weeks ago.

Well good luck everyone.

Have a great day

Hooray!  People are back at this forum!  I was starting to feel quite lonelyLaughing

I had a busy weekend which unfortunately means I didn't eat too good. I'm at a plateau.  I've lost about 20lbs with 10 to go. This is where I got stuck last time too and lost focus and put it all back on.  I'm really hoping to see some changes soon on the scale.   But to be hones, I haven't been eating good and haven't been exercising as much - so its not shocking or confusing to be where I am.  I had hoped to get to the gym today at lunch, but got stuck in meetings. Hopefully tomorrow I will get going again!

Welcome Back - Sandy!  We missed you!

Friday is weigh in day - it would be nice to see some movement!  Hope everyone has a great day.
