hello everyone!

leopardrayne - hope you feel well soon!  I had my tonsils out a long time ago (in the 10th grade) so no more throat problems for me. I can remember always having sore throats! Do you always feel like you have a sore throat?

I walked 5 miles yesterday, I'm going to see if I can top that today!  I'm liking this walking I've been doing. It gives me time for my thoughts. But my leg is killing me tonight! :(

I weighed in yesterday and I'm still the same. It really doesn't surprise me though. I know I'm building the muscles back up in my legs. After barely walking for 2 yrs, I had no muscle left in my legs. I can actually see the muscles coming back. It's such a great thing to see!

I'll check back in later on today!

Lost 2 lbs this week... 156.6 this morning.   :)

Ugggh, I hate throat problems... I have one side of my throat that always swells up and is usually much bigger than the other.  Feel better Leo!

Here's the update!  I went to the health center today, and they (AGAIN) said they had no idea what was wrong with me.  I'm kind of mad at that.  I don't always have a sore throat, momof2, it's just that when I do, my tonsils swell up until I can't breathe.  I'd like it if I got my tonsils taken out.  And... K9stylist - it's always the left side.

168.8.  That means I've lost 1.2 pounds since Friday. Maybe I'll get down another 0.8 this week.  Would be great.

leopardrayne - Seems like drs don't want tot ake out tonsils. I don't know why! You really don't need them! Besides, when they interfere with your breathing, they should be taken out.  Good job on the loss!

I've been at a stand still for a week now. No loss, no gain!  And please don't say atleast I haven't gained. I want to lose! lol  :D  I want to see progress for all my hard work and many miles I've been walking.  I have started walking in spirts. Walk a mile, then wait a 1/2 hr, walk another.....  You get the idea.  I don't know what else to do......

I was informed once that I have an unusually shaped pallette, which prevents my tonsils from ever being taken out.  That doesn't make sense!  But I kind of wish I did get my tonsils out, because they swell up everytime I have any sort of cough.

Have you tried changing your eating pattern at all?  Have a high-cal day, and then go back to your regular eating pattern.  That might help.  Sometimes it works for me.

169.8 this morning.  But then again, I haven't gone to the bathroom yet (usually drops me about a pound).

Leopardrayne - I've never heard of that! A dr said that?  Maybe try going to see a throat, nose and ear dr for another opinion.  I ate high calorie today, so maybe I'll see a change in the scale soon!  I sure hope so.

It was a ears/nose/throat doctor who said it.  Anyways, my weight's up a little, but I'm bloated.  This would be my first Period in three months, so I guess I should be rejoicing... Applaud me for planning a beach weekend (today thru Sunday-ish Monday) right when my period decides to show up.

But today I'm going to eat light for Breakfast and Lunch, because Lou always brings me to a restaurant that offers high calorie foods (I swear even the salads!).  I look it up later... "Italiano's?" 800+.... Tripps? 950... Oh well...  I can plan around it, because he said he was in the mood for either sushi (which I don't eat too much of) or Tripps (which has its Calories marked on its website).

Ooo now I must boogie for breakfast... I have class at 10:10 and it's 9:48!

Oh goodness.  My body's been freaking out since Monday night.  I can't stop hitting the bathroom.  And the pain and the bloating.  I can't stand it.  The scale said 180lbs today, and I want to scream, but the bloating.  My stomach has never so hard and painful.  The medicine I took last night has slowed my dash to the restroom, but it just makes my cramping worse.

And so my activity level has gone down.  I was so active Saturday, Sunday, Monday, but Tuesday and Wednesday was too much stomach pains and today I want to go so bad tot he gym, but if I'm balled up in bed again when I go home, it doesn't help.

Before the craziness, I did finally get a crock pot and buy food for the house.  So now I need to buy storage bowls so I have lunch/snack this week for the soup I made yesterday while sleeping.  And now I should be able to make food food with it too.  I'm tired of restaruants, plus it's too expensive.

Since I had my high calorie day, I lost .6 lbs!  Glad to see the drop on the scale finally.  So I weighed 184.2.  Hope to see 183 tomorrow......we'll see! :D

I walked today at a really fast pace and I know I burned a lot of calories walking that 2.6 miles like a mad woman!  lol  My leg didn't bother me til I was almost home. It still hurts alittle, but hopefully by the morning it will be ok.

I posted a new picture, but it's not too good. It was taken too far away with a camera phone. :(  So later I'll take another alittle closer.

Hope ya'all have a nice weekend!  It's gonna be nice here, no rain finally! :)  Lots of walking on my schedule.....

No walking today. My leg needed a rest.

I put up a new pic, still a little fuzzy. :(  But, I think you can tell I've lost weight since my last pic (10 lbs lighter).

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend.  Say a prayer for all the men and women who have died serving our country.

I did my 4 yrs, and it wasn't easy. I was in Berlin when the terrorists bombed a club the military went to and I was just outside the door when it blew up. I saw things I thought I'd never see. I couldn't imagine being in Iraq or Afghanistan in a war.

So, on that note, I say good nite.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Mine was boring, I slept.

=p

But yesterday I got a bit frustrated.  My boyfriend made some remark that peeved.  We were watching tv and saw something where the guys on tv were gaining weight cause of the girlfriend's cooking.  And I asked him if he'd get upset at me if I did something like that.  He was like, "Well, haven't I gained 100 lbs being with you?"  I was like, No sirree!  You did that buy eating hamburgers and pizza everyday of the week.  So he pointed out that if he went on a diet now, he could lost more weight than I have in three months in a week.  (I've only changed eating habits for two months.)  So I agreed he probably could.  Men drop weight better than women, his metabolism is higher and tons of other things.  But he had the balls to say "but that doesn't matter casue you can't stick to your diet.  You're doing a horrible job."

What the hell?!  I buy only healthy so he complains.  I don't have ice cream, cookies, or fattening things around.  When I'm not feeling sick, I go to the gym.  I cook low sodium, low fat, high protein dinners now instead of carb filled ones.  I've lost 14 pounds in two months, which is actually a great safe way to go.  It really pissed me off!  He killed good mood on my birthday.

We cooked out yesterday and it was so much fun!  I didn't over eat and really enjoyed the day with my family.

Selene - Your bf has alot of nerve! That's just terrible. He should be supportive of your trying to be healthy and lose weight the "right" way.

Hi Selene.

I just wanted to say to you - well done for working so hard and managing to lose so much in two months - I am really impressed - and wish I had managed to shift that much!

I know that partners can be a real pain well you're trying to diet. Try not to take your boyfs opinions to heart too much, because it sounds like you've been donig a great job! My boyf can be the same, they don't always get it when it comes to weight loss and can be really quite insensitive. I just think mens brain work differently!

I measured myself today and I've lost 4 1/2 inches this month. That's a total of 21 inches since January. I've gone from a size 20 to a 14 jean and a 2x in a shirt to a Large. So I'm getting there!

I just wish I would have measured in October when I started losing weight. But, ya know, I didn't want to know! lol

Hi everyone!

We got back from our cruise on Saturday and we had a fabulous time.

I did fall off the wagon a bit so to speak.. I went to the gym only once on the cruise and did the treadmill, elliptical and bike..and tried to use the stairs most of the time rather than the elevator, and did quite a bit of walking, but I did overeat quite a bit - and had a few drinks too ;) ..so hard not to do when there is so much food around and a husband who isn't really into dieting..When I got back and stepped on my scale I weighed in at 185.5!! (I left at 178) But I did have my period..(of course that had to come mid vacation :P)  and now since about yesterday I am back at 180.5.   Today I exercised for the first time since being back.. which makes it about 2 weeks without working out if I dont count the visit to the gym on our cruise. I really need to get back on track.. I havent really been tracking my calories either, so I really need to start with that again too. It has taken me nearly the whole week to get everything back to normal.. with the unpacking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, yard work, etc..

A friend of ours stayed at our house with our dogs while we were gone and she brought her 2 dogs as well, and lets just say she is not well acquainted with the vacuum cleaner. I left the house spic and span when I left and came home to dog hair and dirt everywhere!! She said she even walked the dogs to the lake a few blocks away and had them all swim (the lake water is pretty nasty) and I'm sure she didnt clean the dogs up at all.. yuck! My husband probably  could care less, but I really hate having such a mess. He always says I clean too much, but if I didnt it wouldnt get done... anyway, sorry about the rant..

Our vacation was a lot of fun. The weather was really hot though! We live in Minnesota, and it has been a very cool spring for us so far, and the cruise was Western Carribean and it was usually in the upper 80's to lower 90's with at least 80% humidity just about everyday! The first day we stayed at sea, and we layed in the sun for awhile and had some drinks and explored the ship a little bit. The next day we stopped in Cozumel, and we did a little shopping and then my husband really wanted to do an ATV excursion. So there was about 30 people in the group, and the guides asked if anybody had any atv experience, and only about 10 said they did (and I was not one of them) So they showed everyone how to start the atv and shift gears and then we were off, and it was crazy! the paths were rocky and very difficult to ride, more like expert level than beginner! It was so hot and we were sweaty, and then riding the atv we got covered in dirt. By the end of the ride eveyone was black with dirt from head to toe! I dont think I would do that again.  The next day we were in Roatan Island, Honduras. We did some shopping again and then we went to a reserve called Gumalimba Park. It was very beautiful there and they had parrots that you could have stand on your shoulder, and an area with monkeys that you could hold. It was really neat. There were also iguanas and other little lizards running around. There was also a beach area that was nice.   The next day we were in Belize, and we didnt really book anything for activities, so we just did some more shopping. Then the next day was at sea again and we again had time to lay out in the sun and take it easy. Then the last stop was Freeport, Bahamas, and we booked an excursion with Dolphins. We were brought to the Place, and then rode a boat to the dolphin area. There were docks that enclosed an area like a pool, but the dolphins could swim under the docks. At the one end of the pool, it was about 3 feet of water and we stood at the edge of the dropoff, and then the dolphins would swim up between us and we could pet them. It was so fun. Then after everyone had turns  and in between the guide had the dolphins do tricks- like jumps and flips and such. We both had a really good time.  We did a little shopping after the dolphin thing and then went back to the boat. We packed our stuff and had to be off the next morning.    I almost wish we could have stayed another week.. so nice not having any real responsibilities for awhile.. no cooking, no cleaning, no work..  We ate at the dining room 4 nights and the rest we went to the buffet. The food was really good for the most part. We took in a show and saw a couple of comedy acts on the boat, and my husband spent some time in the casino (i dont really care for the casino). There were also some shops on the boat, and my husband bought me a pretty necklace.. gold with a round diamond ring pendant.

Anyways, sorry about such a long post.. enough about my vacation now.. How are all of you doing?

Leopardrayne, sorry to hear about the throat problems.. hope you are feeling better.. Could it maybe be seasonal allergies? Good for you getting down to 168!

Momof2funykds, Great job on your weight loss and inches!! size 20 to a 14! thats fabulous!! You can shop in regular sizes instead of plus sizes now! And god bless you for your service to our country!

Selene, you have been doing a great job.. dont let your bf get you down.. I bet he is just jealous and feeling insecure about you doing so well with your healthy changes and feels bad that he hasnt been participating in that. Thats just too bad he doesnt know how to express that and comes off acting like a jerk! And on your birthday too! I can understand your frustration and how that hurts..  my hubby is diabetic and has had heart problems and still doesnt take very good care of himself or eat right. It has been a struggle with us for over 12 years, but I have come to accept that I cant change him, or control what he does, so I can only change me. Sure I still get after him about taking his meds and I try to be subtle about encouraging him to eat better, but I dont let it affect me when he doesnt do well and wants to bring me down with him. He has to do it for himself, not for me. Just like I am trying to eat better and be healthier for myself, not just for him.

Newlook, have your knee(s) gotten better? hope so..

k9stylist, 156.6!! Wow! I am soo jealous!

Hope you all have a great weekend! Happy Friday! :)

Wow, Wendy, your vacation sounds awesome!  Sounds like you had a wonderful time!  I'm jealous.  :)

Wendy - Thank you! And your vacation.....WOW!  I would love to be able to do that. It just sounds so relaxing and something I could really get into! :)  Did you put up any pics yet?

You all are going to laugh at this! BUT.....I did something last night that I don't know if anyone else has ever done.

I took out my "fat" jeans that were getting too tight on me in Oct , and since I didn't measure when I started losing weight, I measured my jeans!!! lol

And it actually makes sense at the measurements I got compared with the 1st measurement I took in Jan.

So here they are:  Waist 44, hips 53, and thigh 31, so from Oct - Jan I lost 4" in my waist, 6" from my hips, and 5" from my thighs. So currently I've lost 9" in waist, 11 in hips, 9 1/2 in thighs for a GRAND TOTAL (from all my measurements) of -36 inches!!!!!

Thanks everyone.. I posted some pics of our trip..

momof2funykds.. 36 inches! holy moly! thats super!

well i'm sad to report that I am currently up to 187 Frown due to having two four day weekends back to back. but today i am back on track and totally committed so i will continue to log my progress and let's see what i do for this month Smile
