I'm 23...almost 24 and have gained 23 lbs. in the past year. Many things have contributed to my weight gain such as: I stopped smoking, years and years of eating unhealthy, and getting comfortable with my significant other... I have been dieting and exercising for almost 6 months and I haven't dropped ONE POUND!!! Please tell me how I was once a SIZE 1- 115 LBS. a year ago and now a SIZE 7 AND 140 LBS.!!!!

I was a size 3/4  2 years ago, I don't ever hope to get to that again, thats just wishful thinking, but I'm almost in a size 12!! My size 10s are getting too tight, thankfully since I've found CC I'm getting back into them...hopefuly i can just get to a size 7/8!

Brett- Nice job, a always....this is my 8th move in 4 years. Three of which were from one side of the US to the other......Ah, the life of military spouse....

Hi again all,

I stopped by last month, and I'm back to say hello.  I haven't been participating in regular weigh-ins, but I'd like to change that.  I think it would help me keep my fitness in perspective to look at it week-by-week.

It sounds like last week was pretty good for most people, particular congratulations to Kirsten for breaking the 170 barrier!!

See you all in a couple of days for weigh-in!

#525 pumpkin314 Jul 04 2008 13:50

Okay, first weigh in for me:

Starting weight: 162

Last week: 135.5

Today: 134

Loss of 1.5 pounds

I know I'll probably go up in the next few days, though, because my husband is in town for the holiday and I know that means we'll be eating out every meal and I won't be exercising.  Oh well.  Happy Independence Day, all!!

#526 kirsten420 Jul 04 2008 19:38

Thanks Jess, I was pretty pumped about it lol

#529 bigbrett22 Jul 07 2008 02:11

i can't believe i missed friday's weigh in. i was at the giants game. they lost. and i was there again today. and they lost again. i shouldn't go. anyways...here ya go....

SW: 320 lbs.

LAST WEEK: 212 lbs.

THIS WEEK: 210 lbs.

WEEK LOSS: 2 lbs.

TOTAL LOSS: 110 lbs.

i have been doing well once again. this holiday weekend has been rough, but i have done well. makes me happy to know that i can still do well without really counting calories. i haven't counted all weekend and i am still losing. so i guess i know what i am eating pretty well. that excites me. to know that i can eat without worrying about counting. so hopefully i can keep this up. 25 pounds to go. i have roughly 3 months to do it. wish me luck. this will be the toughest 3 months for sure. but i can handle it. i'm ready!

-brett

#530 amayou82 Jul 07 2008 20:17

Brett- Good job on the loss, and losing without counting. I usuallly don't count on the weekends either just make conscious decisions to not over eat, and make healthy eating choices.

I also just want to send out some kudos to everyone in the group for making this step b4 it's too late. From what I hear it's harder to lose weight the older you get so continue to stay motivated folks.

#531 lietee Jul 08 2008 14:40

Down 0.5 this week well its better then up right!!!  Next week hould be better!  Now with my extra hours at work it forces me to walk home evry eveing and that takes 30 minutes.  I thought with the extra exercize id loose more.  Well good luck this week everyone!

#532 amayou82 Jul 11 2008 12:36

Weigh in day! I'm not happy about it though

Starting weight: 151

Last week 145.8

this week:146

I'm hoping I'm just retaining a little water so I may wait until tomorrow to log my weight. I drank all of my necessary water, i don't think I had that much salt, I've worked out twcie this week and working out today or tomorrow to fit in my 3xweek, even walked an extra 1.76 miles. I was so pumped about todays weigh in because I hopped on the scale a couple days ago and was down a lil bit. I'll try not to let this discourage me, I'm going to six flags tomorrow.

#533 pumpkin314 Jul 11 2008 12:50

It's that time again!

Last week: 134

Today:  133.5

Loss: .5 pounds

I'm actually surprised I lost anything.  I had been up all week, but yesterday I drank an obscene amount of water in case I was puffed up from sodium...and I guess I must have been, because I am down 1.5 pounds from yesterday.  Funny how the body works!

#534 bigbrett22 Jul 11 2008 18:22

here i am folks.

SW: 320 lbs.

LAST WEEK: 210 lbs.

THIS WEEK: 208 lbs.

WEEK LOSS: 2 lbs.

TOTAL LOSS: 112 lbs.

i am down another 2 from last week. i'm very happy about this. i haven't gone to the gym all week and i was worried that the scale would notice. i recently threw out my back at work and am unable to work out. i am on workman's comp for the time being. so no work for me. nice, but also not nice. last time i lost a lot of weight, i got hurt at work and sat on my butt and ate for 4 months straight. gained a ton of it back. so this time i WILL learn from my mistakes last time. so keep me on track people. yell at me if you have to. i am so close this time. i cannot ruin it.

amayou - don't let it get you down. as you know, when you get down to the final 5 or 10 pounds, they don't come off easy. just stick with it and you'll get there. have fun at six flags, too. lucky!

pumpkin - water weight IS a strange thing. i can weigh first thing in the morning and be 210. then after i drink a ton of water and take a shower and weigh again, i'll be down almost 2 pounds. i don't quite get how it all works, but that's the human body for you. good work though. you are doing fantastic.

#535 kirsten420 Jul 11 2008 20:45

Hi everyone,
I just started with this website within the past week. I'm 28 y.o., married and I haven't really dieted since I was a teenager....all of the yoyo, starvation and other forms of self torture justr really turned me off to the idea. I've made attempts to eat right over the years, but never really to track my caloric intake and to be conscious about it. I'm really excited about learning to eat sensibly and lose weight. I come from a family of awful eaters and have become one myself. I'm definitely a major emotional eater.  What really propelled me to start paying attention to my weight that I got a new bike about 6 weeks ago and it's felt so good to start to get into shape again. I have done yoga on and of for the last year (and in years past, but somewhat consistently for the last year). But, with the bike, I've experience a certain amount of liberation and empowerment that I love. And emotionally, I feel amazing. I've quit a lot of bad habits recently and my poor eating habits have to be one of them.

This past year, I have been moving toward being more active and I have lost about 30 pounds without trying too hard...mainly by cutting stuff out of my diet that I really just wasn't crazy about to begin with...like soda and cheese on everything. My sister is vegan, so i've learned ways to cook without always relying on meat products for flavor...that helps alot.

Anyway, when I got the bike, I started to track my distance and speed on another website. That website was telling me how many calories I was burning doing the exercise, but (bc it's a biking website) it didn't help me to track calories. So, here I am.

My starting weight was 255  in March 07
Over the last week, it registers anywhere from 221-224...224 and I've just eaten.

Speaking of which, I'M STARVING!! I can't eat enough!! I don't know what the deal is.

I'm guessing...I didn't really track my caloric intake before jumping into a 2050 calorie diet (as recommended by CC) and that I'm consuming alot less fat. I really like fats and they really "stick to your ribs" (literally)

But, if anyone can tell me some bulky, yet tasty ways to stop my hunger pangs, it would be much appreciated. I scarfed carrots all day yesterday.

Anyway, hi! I'm excited to be here! I look forward to reading your posts.

#537 must_lose20 Jul 12 2008 01:02

I didn't have a chance to come and post this morning, but oh well here we go:

Start: 173

Last week: 167

This week: 167 :(

Total Loss: 6lbs, 22 to go!

Haven't lost a thing this week, but then again I didn't expect to because I've eaten over my calories THREE TIMES this week, haven't done anything except go beaching(swimming) which counts for something I guess, and I haven't had as much water as I normally do...so at least I didn't gain and some of that might be water weight. Congrats to all of you who had a loss!!

#538 lietee Jul 15 2008 14:38
