NOTE: We're battling temperatures over 105 here, and keep losing power and internet connection, so if you don't hear from me .... it's probably because I melted! |

Aww Molly I understand. It was like that here in the end of May, but is actually REALLY cold right now (in the 60's - only really cold in comparison to the 100's we were getting just a few weeks ago). Do you have any summertime vacation plans??? August 1 - 4, I'll be packing up and moving from a tiny town in North Carolina to Raleigh. August 5 - August 13 I'll be in Syracuse, NY, visiting family and old friends I haven't seen in a long while. August 13 - 16 I'll be helping my mother set up her classroom. August 16 - 22 I'll be ASLEEP! |

Oh Molly, please try not to melt! We need you We haven't reached 100 yet where I live. We rarely do. But the "heat index" gets up well over 100 sometimes because of the high humidity. Vacation plans? We leave next Thursday evening! I have to plan vacations around births. About once a year I get a natural break in my schedule. Sometimes it only lasts about a week, sometimes longer. With that last baby, I'm no longer "on call" until the end of July! Then it's going to get really busy for me through the rest of the year and into 2009. So, my husband and I are about to head up to Dallas area to visit family and attend a friend's wedding. We'll come back by way of my brother's home in Elgin, TX near Austin and then to my sister's a few miles from there. We will be gone for just a week and mostly plan to see family. I'm sure we'll find some fun things along the way. But just getting away will be SO nice. ~ Beth |

I don't have any vacation plans at the moment. I'm trying to save a bit of extra money here and there and hopefully go some place fun like Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires. I also have to start learning spanish! |

Original Post by mollymouser: Because this year's finances have been pretty tight, we only have a weekend camping trip planned in August right before the kids go back to school (I pray that my oldest daughter does not get poison ivy again this summer). I am also trying to plan an overnight visit to my oldest sister's house in Bloomington with my oldest daughter, so we can have a scrapbooking night! It has been pushed back several times now, busy schedules! Next year, I hope to be able to have a real vacation! |

Original Post by mollymouser: We don't have any big vacation plans. My husband just changed jobs so vacation time is limited but we do plan to take a few weekend trips. My daughter just asked yesterday if we could go to an amusement park this summer so I'll be planning that trip for sometime next month. We're also saving up so we can take the kids on an extedned vacation next summer. They are hoping for Florida & Disney but I have decided yet. |

Well, I am going to the California coast Tues-Wed-Thursday (Monterey and Carmel). As to other vacations, I need to wait and see what my wonderful DH's deployment situation is. MOLLY |

Original Post by mollymouser: Well, we DID, but since my boyfriend just lost his job on Friday, no vacation for us. :( We had been planning a trip to Vegas at the end of August - partially 'cause he's never been there, partially as a reward for me losing weight. But, now we're going to have to put it off. We just can't justify spending that kind of money without knowing how long he will be out of work. Sigh. |
