| Clean Eating Challenge | ||

| Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it. I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me?? There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!! All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date. A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this! Dee ************************************************ Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules: (let me know if I missed you) If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date. After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding. Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!! Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge. Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

| Staying clean. I've had a chocolate craving and started munching on hershey's kisses, but I went on long walks yesterday and today to make up for it. Weekends are always tougher, we'll get through it! | ||
| #503 | May 28 2007 05:05 | |
| so if we walk extra we can "make up" for our chocolate mishaps?? Cuase in that case...I walked 6 miles yesterday...perhaps that would make up for the icecream? | ||

| I am getting rid of all the cookies I have in the pantry. I have decided that from now on whatever snacks I buy they will be from the organic food store. It is gross all the chemicals in these snack foods. That is my plan for the summer. To me that is clean eating. Also, trying to get portions right. I am not giving up any said food but I want to learn how to do portions. I like the clean eating idea. I am in, Tully | ||

Made it through Sunday--let me get through today (Monday) so that this holiday weekend is behind me. We made S'mores on Saturday but I did not eat any, even though I love them. Nothing sweet all weekend and not exceeding calories and exercising.
Dee- when is your weigh in? I think we are somewhat similar, I am 5'5 and now about 141.8. (Was about 148 in the beginning of May) Really want to thank you for starting this. This was just what I needed to get the last bit of weight off when I had been just stalling every month. I have been trying since January to get this ten off ( that I gained over the holidays) and finally it has started to come off. My goal is 135 too. I lost the majority of my weight last January 2006 thru June 2006, some 40 lbs. I did good keeping it off and then over the holdiays...omg it is so easy to put on. I will NEVER do that again. I had maintained at 138 for months and was happy with my size (4 or 6), which now I am comfortable back in. Thanks!! mabear-Kudos to you for even attempting weight loss after such a tragic event. There is nothing like losing a child. I lost a daughter, on June 2 (aniversary coming up on Sat) 7 years ago. It is a tough long road. I gained a lot of weight after the loss and was not ready to even think about weight loss for a long time. God Bless you and your family during this tough time, and please do not be hard on yourself. |

can i join? i've eaten "clean" for one week now, i'm up to the challenge. i've been eating 1,300 - 1,600 cals/day; also trying to get 100% dv recs on all vits, mins, protein, & fiber. is there a weigh-in w/ this? right now i'm at 192 (started at 195) and my final goal is 130 - my "mini-goal" is 170.
once i get to 170, my reward will be a new swimsuit :) |

Last night we played board games with my mil. I went over my cals cuz I started munchin' while playing, and it was late at night & that's a big no-no for me. But, my weight did not change from yesterday so that's good :) I will restart myself.
****************** mabear- I will never get tired of you! &hey I restarted myself too. Maybe our goal should be two days clean eating or just one? Take it one day at a time, what do you think? nicolelleirb- you know, if your thing is that if you eat more, then as a result of that, do extra exercise for "punishment" or just to balance that out, then that's your thing, no restart needed :) chanb73- one whole week, way to go!!! tully & got2lose it- welcome, I will add you both. There is no weigh in here, but feel free to "brag" to us all when you do lose! we love it!! Congrats on the one week clean got2loseit. & tully I like your thinking of clean eating. You're right, lots of crap in a lot of pkg'd foods. lrschwarze - congrats on resisting the s'mores! & you're welcome (for starting this) I'm glad it's helping. my weigh in day is WEdnesdays. In 2 days I will be at my day 120, and will retake measurements & pics. Ya, I'm 5'6" (apparently I grew an inch!) and my start weight was 194.2. My goal is 135 so I have 13 more lbs to go! I've never been at this weight b4 in my life. I weighed 148 this morning. Congrats on being back at your size 4/6!! My goal is size 6 too. I'm kinda expecting these last 13 to be hard, but I"m gonna just keep it going. So far, I'm still losing ok as long as I kee my eating in check, and that's what this is sooo good for. brightestblue- ya, isn't it weird when we become so conscious of what we're eating, it really reveals why we dont' lose sometimes. We put in all the effort of exercise and then can pretty much undo any loss we could've had by eating more cals. Darn! Keep going girl! you can do this! Dee |

Hello all, I just wanted to say that I would like to be officially off the list. The reason why is because I just can't go cold turkey from things that I love and don't even over eat the junk. I just don't see this working for me is all b/c I am afraid to binge if I restrict myself and don't even feel it is necessary to do. But for thows of you that can, I congrat you. Thank you |

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I stayed clean (it wasn't hard, dorm food is disgusting even on holidays). I had my weigh in and I was down a couple pounds! It felt good.
Hope this week goes well for you all! |

bellad - np, I'll remove you, but you do realize that you make your own rules for cheaing right? So, if for you, you can have some junk food, than that's your rules. I certainly did not do anything cold turkey & I have some sweets/chocolate everyday, but just one or two things & I fit it into my cals for the day.
chumbl3- congrats on the couple pounds!! sugu - I'm sorry, I must have removed you by accident, I'll go back & find your start date & put you back on. |
