What did YOU eat today? ilisa
  Mar 15 2007 21:43
Don't list the calories, don't list the exercise, don't list portion sizes.

None of those pesky numbers, since we all are different.

One person can need 1400 a day, while another can need 2,500, and it can be really triggering to see someone ate a lower number than yourself.

Therefore, just list the food you ate. This will help us understand the value of eating healthy food (for the nutrients), while also indulging moderately in empty calories when we want. I don't know about you, but I'm aiming for 90% healthy foods - and 10% empty calories. ;)

Also, do not post here if you are starving yourself. I'm not interested in the details, it is only going to get others riled up, and it is triggering to those of us trying to recover from an eating disorder. Okay, thank-you.

Here's me for today:

Breakfast: slept far too late
Lunch: sandwich (100% whole wheat bread, garden burger veggie medley patty, soy dijon "mayo", pickle, lettuce), dried apricots, diet soda, tums, vitamin
Snack: apple, no salt added raw almond butter
Dinner: corn, bell peppers, sugar-snap peas, lettuce, firm tofu, soy dressing, tums
Snack: soy delicious peanut butter zig zag! yumm.

D: Ear of corn, steamed squash, and salad w/ my yummy miso dressing. mmmm...miso

I know it's a lot more carbs than I should have, but I'm going on a trip for a week and I'm trying to get rid of left-overs.  Decided to stop eating eggs and dairy right after breakfast, but after I ate the boca, I realized that has cheese in it.  Grr...

help me out with this one... i usually eat normal meals (toast or granola in the morning, sandwich lunch, grilled chicken salad or something for dinner) but today i had an off day....

B- granola bar
L- little nasty hotdog at this party
D- 1 tiny leftover grilled chicken tender

I was really busy and had no appetite cuz i took a double dose of my new ADD pills today (i'm always supposed to take two but i like to keep it to one a day).  How does this kind of eating effect me? Does it set me back because my body will cling to the fat I already have more? Should I have made myself eat something at night to make up for it?  Seriously, i dont starve myself (i love food and i'm 220+ pounds) but i sometimes have these "off" days cuz of my medication and dont know how to handle them (i feel like i should be thankful)... any suggestions?

Breakfast: muesli, soymilk, grapefruit

Snacks: Vegetable juice. Oolong tea. Iced soymilk latte.

Lunch: Spinach salad with soybeans, carrot, cucumber, mushrooms, potato, black olives and sun-dried tomato (no dressing). Sparkling water.

Dinner: Vegetable soup with chickpeas and shirataki (the real Japanese konnyaku ones, not the American "tofu"ones), a slice of bio-grain bread with Marmite.

And quite a bit of water throughout the day.

Interesting exercise - I see at a glance that I had too much soy and not enough other proteins today! A bit more fruit wouldn't have gone wrong, either....
